For every minigame that plays acceptably, there are three or four that have no redeeming value whatsoever. Control is consistently imprecise and occasionally mystifying, and none of the games approach any semblance of complexity.

As far as available modes, the list is noticeably anemic.

It offers enough action for fans of brawlers to sink their thumbs and teeth into, and its controls are simple and intuitive enough for a novice to pick up and enjoy. Spider-Man 2 is one of the most enjoyable DS launch titles, and even outside of that thinking it is a tremendous effort and a fabulous game.

It is flawed on almost every level, but its biggest failing is that it is designed to take advantage of technology that is questionable at best and just plain broken at worst.

It doesn't have much replay value aside from multiplayer battles, and the 28 arenas offered are uninspired and bland.

Boring, repetitive gameplay and bland visuals make up Spawn’s biggest missteps, while a formidable soundtrack keeps the game from being totally without merit.

There really isn't much in the way of replay value once the game is beaten, as players will see most everything the first time through, and spikes in frustration due to the technology – not game design – will keep most from wanting to make a return visit.

Let's hope, for their sake, that the inevitable sequel to ER keeps the good ideas but injects a little fun into the formula.

A good game. It does have several flaws that hopefully will be fixed up for any future installments in the series, but none truly distract from the game's deep and memorable story.

Playing as a villain should lift away the restraints that normally accompany the good guy role, and thus provide for a more liberating and refreshing gaming experience. Instead, EA has given gamers a window into mediocrity, and an affair that simply isn't fun.

It is sort of sad when a game bests its nearest competition simply by virtue of the fact that the average player can stand to play it the whole way through without smashing it with a hammer, but that’s really the best way to sell Conflict: Vietnam. Sure it has awkward controls, occasionally unclear mission objectives, and obtuse friendly AI, but it all boils down to player satisfaction.

DS owners are advised to take care if they are contemplating purchasing this odd take of the Guilty Gear franchise, as besides the series' moniker, this is definitely not the same game that you are used to playing.
    • 60 Metascore

It's definitely a neat little game, but there's nothing about it that demands an immediate purchase. It has no real replay value, and the trading/collecting aspect isn't compelling.

The ratio of “good” to “bad” games doesn’t justify a purchase to anyone but the hardest of the hardcore. For the casual gamer looking for a fix, this collection has next to nothing to offer.

The game can be completed in 5-6 hours, although finding all the secrets—which allow you to increase your health and force meters—can take considerably longer.

It's also fun, with a story is further shows the potential of the Nintendo DS as the new home for adventure gaming. That's the good part. The bad part is that the game only features four cases and a handful of forgettable side stories, with very little replay value.

The Frankenstein's monster of a game I played does little more than scratch the underside of mediocrity. Buy this for an irritating nephew, but keep yourself and those for whom you care for deeply away from this game.

Urban Reign succeeds because it does what it set out to do: it is a fun, engaging brawler. The fighting system is deep and intriguing, the voice-acting is thankfully on-spot, and the game has a lot to offer, particularly for anyone looking for a quick, aggressive free-for-all.

Suffice to say that this is a very complex game. For a statistician or a strategy/tactics aficionado, particularly fans of Disgaea-like games which nearly drown players in stats and quirks, Generation of Chaos will be well-received.

If we've learned anything with time, it's that it is much better to be pleasantly surprised by a budget title than to be underwhelmed by a full-price title, and Cold War is a pleasant surprise indeed.

The voice acting is wooden, save points can be infrequent, and while load times themselves aren’t overly long, the game accesses the disc pretty frequently.

Not a terrible game. You’ll definitely find better in the survival horror genre if you’re looking for a good scare, and it doesn’t excel at any particular department, but when you consider other budget-priced titles, it’s not a bad buy.

End of Darkness needs the online mode to stay fresh, without which it will be left as nothing more then a boring and repetitive experience garnished with a few notable features.

The puzzles may not be very compelling once the initial stages are completed (i.e., once the developer’s design and logic tendencies are identified), but there are a handful of levels here that are genuinely brain-bending and rewarding.

The Godfather never feels like it has any real consequence to it, and interspersed with missions as it is, it commits the sin of slowing an action game down.

While mind-numbingly boring in single-player, the game does inch closer to being fun when other players pick up a controller.
