Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld is a better game than the original, but that isn't saying much since they are both very boring and tedious hack 'n slash dungeon crawlers.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is very reminiscent of Lemmings, as the goal is to guide Mario and friends through levels by manipulating objects around them, instead of directly controlling them. Creating inventive ways to avoid hazards and collect coins make each level a challenging, but endearing, experience.

Combining the tried-and-true formula of Mega Man X with a modern aesthetic and a fun, unique combat style was a sure-fire hit from the start, but it's safe to say that Inafune could easily have another major success on his hands.

Music On: Electric Guitar has tried hard in some aspects to replicate how it feels and sounds to play a guitar. It's certainly not a bad effort, but the lack of additional features hurts the app. In addition, the concept won't appeal to everyone, but those that are intrigued will find reasons to come back for a five minute twiddle when the situation permits.

Returning to the action adventure mould may be a source of disappointment for those that loved the previous Ninjago real-time strategy slant on Nintendo DS, but LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin takes all of the best elements found in previous LEGO adventures and mixes them together with a hilarious script, some weird and wacky scenarios, an impressive mix of character-based puzzles, and plenty of extras to keep players coming back for more.

Lack of online aside, the game is a worthy addition to the Wii U line-up and a game-night roster.

Despite a few foibles, basically the 3DS has its new killer app.

Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition takes a beloved classic of the past that hasn't necessarily aged very well and brings to players who are hungry for monuments of gaming history just the version they needed to finally take a dive if they hadn't already.

Chariot is a true co-op game. The beauty is that the game can be played and enjoyed in two completely different styles.

With a bit more time and a few new features, Blek has all the ingredients to become a strong entry into the puzzle world, should a sequel ever transpire.

Comparisons with games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater may be unavoidable, but they are certainly misplaced: OlliOlli is a great game on its own merits.

Zombie Incident is not without a couple of annoying factors at times, and some decisions in terms of game design do seem odd. Saying that, though, the feeling it provides coming out of playing it is a good one - a rewarding sense of accomplishment.

Nintendo would have been better off renaming this 'The Best of NES Remix 1&2' - admittedly not the catchiest title but it is not misleading unlike the actual name of Ultimate NES Remix.

Space Lift Danger Panic! is a solid port of the iOS original, capitalising on the touch-screen controls for the 3DS, with colourful retro graphics and a solid soundtrack to boot.

Although it does not impress quite as much as other recent SEGA 3D Classics re-released on the 3DS eShop, like 3D After Burner II, for example, it certainly still deserves its own place on the platform and manages to stand on its own.

To say that The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D is the stand out best game in the Zelda series is, indeed, a daring - and inaccurate - verdict, given the calibre of the series. However, there can be no doubting that this is the most alluring and positively tortuous game within the series, and for that reason alone, it is worth everyone's time.

It might not capture the essence of the games it was originally inspired by, but by challenging those very genres and adding ideas of its own, it may well become a focal point in indie development, inspiring developers to create games in a similar vein.
