    Even with the occasionally crushing difficulty, it’s hard not to love 3D Fantasy Zone. It’s not only an interesting footnote in Sega history and a fantastic port, but a unique and charming shooter that still holds up today.

    Although it does not impress quite as much as other recent SEGA 3D Classics re-released on the 3DS eShop, like 3D After Burner II, for example, it certainly still deserves its own place on the platform and manages to stand on its own.

    Those looking for a true challenge will want to inquire here, as Fantasy Zone, if nothing else, has a devilish propensity to shatter players’ spirits with its steep challenge.
