The beginnings were extremely promising but 8 hours later (around the middle of the campaign) I was seriously tired and annoyed by a myriad of small nuisances which successfully strip the whole experience of joy. [02/2019, p.64]

All the game’s activities are painfully repetitive and simply dull. There is educational value in it and the kids should have a good time getting to know the bee world, sure, but the rest is very so-so. [01/2020, p.66]

It seems someone forgot to develop a game before publishing it, because MTUS lacks content so desperately that it looks like a mini game from Mario Party. [02/2016, p.63]

Edge of Time would really benefit from a more varied gameplay and less confined levels. Other than that it's a decent game with a silly but entertaining story that Spider-Man fans should dig. [December 2011, p.62]

The most annoying flaws of the original game are back: faulty collision detection, invisible walls, insane camera, short gameplay time and a predictable, cheesy ending. [05/2015, p.76]

    Kyn
If I hadn’t known that Kyn was developed mostly by two people, I wouldn’t have suspected it. It’s hard not to appreciate the surprisingly high quality of their work but on the other hand the project overwhelmed them in some respects. [10/2015, p.64]

Stitchy is a decent game, but way too conservative. It doesn’t even try to peek outside the genre’s basics and standards. I think younger players will enjoy it, but older platformer fans will probably get bored. [07/2021, p.41]

Ironically Lost Planet 3 lacks what the developer has in its name – a spark. It’s a solid but generic shooter that you will forget quickly. [CD-Action 10/2013, p.48]

Memoranda’s art style is wonderful but the game has huge problems with communicating what and why you should be doing. Most of the time I simply didn’t know where I should go and who I should talk to. [03/2017, p.54]

The idea behind Ninja Gaiden 3 was to create a Ninja Gaiden for the Call of Duty generation. The result is a flashy game completely devoid of depth and any challenge. A grave disappointment. [May 2012, p.66]

Paradise Lost offers an engaging story set in a fascinating world, and it’s hard not to notice and appreciate all the work that went into polishing the environments. Sadly, there’s very little actual gameplay here and while the first two hours made me feel like an explorer delving into the unknown, I only reached the end because I had to. [05/2021, p.39]

Great first impression – the visuals! the audio! the atmosphere! – turned out to be horribly wrong. Deathwing is infested with bugs, the AI is blasphemously poor and close combat system needs major improvements. [02/2017, p.38]

The biggest obstacle on ReCore’s path to greatness is the uneven pacing of the campaign. First couple of hours, when the game gradually unveils its secrets, are almost perfect, but then it becomes unnecessarily hard and the story gets watered down too much. [12/2016, p.44]

If you hoped for World of Warcraft dressed in colourful superhero tights, Marvel Heroes is not it. It stands somewhere between typical MMORPGs and action RPGs and had considerable potential but fails to kindle any major emotions. Developers will have to work hard to refine this game. The title says it all. There is a corpse underneath the shroud and the virtues were indeed forsaken. The informal successor to the Ultima series proves that Tabula Rasa was not a one-time slip and Richard Garriott belongs in the past. [06/2018, p.70]

An engaging story about a group of dirty cops in cyberpunk Hong Kong, Wanted: Dead is a modest but highly enjoyable game dripping with the atmosphere of violent B movies and full of intense, memorable shootouts and swordfights. Be prepared to die often, because the game’s difficulty level is a throwback to the PS2 era.

You die often and spectacularly, but failures are not frustrating in the slightest, because you lose a couple of minutes of progress at most and gameplay mechanics are fresh and very satisfying. [08/2018, p.69]
