Audio-visually this is a gem. An atmospheric composition of sounds and images that reminds you of Journey. But storytelling, mechanics and exploration are not nearly as elaborate as in the PlayStation classic.

An interesting pack full of content from a former Assassin’s Creed era. While the story and setting is one of the most interesting ones in the franchise history, mechanically it shows the age of the original and is evident of the progress the AC games made since then.

With its permadeath concept Necropolis is able to generate tension, while each fight could be your last. But progress is limited, regardless if you’re playing alone or cooperatively, so after a few hours it slowly becomes hard work.

Solid “no-frill” point & click adventure with rather predictable story and well integrated but very simple puzzles.

Corruption 2029 is a reduced version of Mutant Year Zero with interesting tactical battles. But that aside it misses creativity and variety.

Apart from the experimental weapons you wouldn’t guess that this game is from Insomniac. Even though this quartet of mercenaries gives Army of Two the boot, it still lacks the passion that you got to know from the Ratchet & Clank or Resistance series.

If you like your futuristic tower defense with a little “extra hard”, go for it. With Defense Technica you won’t see anything new, but you will definitely get a challenge.

Five years ago it was a solid old-school experience. But since then a lot has happened within retro action – most notably Doom. And compared to the glossy dynamics you can experience in id Software's latest hell on Mars, this plainly feels outdated in almost every aspect.

Slow paced jump&run with a beautiful world and some clever traps. Nonetheless you’re better off with Limbo and even more so with Inside.

A relaxed nature-based adventure with an interesting film mechanic. Unfortunately it is too repetitive and the story ending way too open.

A convincing motocross experience and improved visuals meet a dreary campaign and innovations not thought through – in the end it is a decent (yet typical) Milestone update.

In times of roomscale tinkering like Fantastic Contraption the conservative experiments of Crazy Machines 3 feel a bit outdated, but still manage to deliver solid puzzle fun.

Combining little blocks was never more stylish than with Lumines. Unfortunately this rendition is a mere shadow of its former PSP-self.

Colorful, wild alien first-person shooter with talking guns - the gritty humor hits the mark, the gameplay is just so-so.

Visually beautiful, but in terms of mechanics as old-fashioned and unchallenging as on consoles. At least it manages to deliver a decent story with interesting characters.

At its core this is still an extremely good action roleplaying game. But it would have deserved a better and more intricate remaster treatment instead of this effort.

Gotham City looks astonishing while the story is full of suspense and surprises. Mechanically the star once again is the freeflow fighting system. But somewhere along the way Rocksteady lost the focus and missed the point, especially with the overpowering, omnipresent inclusion of the Batmobile. Those sequences (and there are far too many) are nothing but a second-tier shooter which takes away too much from the dark knight and everything he stood for up to now.

While Diluvion shows off some great ideas and a very distinctive artdesign, the execution of all the ideas seems superficial at times. Unfortunately this deep sea adventure lacks depth…

Even the nice setting with vampires in the Wild West can hardly save anything: The hectic gameplay with annoying opponent spam, which no combat system can cope with, is unimaginative and lacks a real spark of charm.

Gunjack is like other early Vive titles: fast food without depth. Targeting via head movements works extremely well though and it is literally easy on the eyes. [Tested with Vive]

In theory I like this game better than Far Cry 5 and I enjoy it more than Metro Exodus. But why Ubisoft decided and went for micro transactions that can impact the balance (optionally of course) is beyond me.

The experiment “Shooter-MMO-crossover” has not completely failed. Especially the competitive firefights are quite entertaining. But then again, as a full-fledged shooter it doesn’t have any significant impact while as an MMO it doesn’t have enough content. Welcome to Destigrind.

As an interactive audio book The Dwarves works surprisingly well even though some of the cutscenes seem rushed. But as soon as you enter the battlefield the fascination fades and is replaced by hectic, chaotic and sometimes buggy skirmishes.

The presentation is cute beyond believe, the music is great, the fighting system is as simple as varied – it sure sounds like a winner. But at its core there are too many weaknesses on display, most notably the absence of RPG elements, which makes the fights too monotonous in the long run.

King Art and Nordic Games wasted their second opportunity, to release a technically sound adventure. If you can see behind the framerate issues, aliasing, tearing and clumsy controls, you’ll find a rather interesting thriller.

In theory there is an interesting concept hidden in the futuristic labyrinth Vesta has to escape with the help of her wits and her robot guardian. But the execution is too inconsequential too often, thus rendering the interesting mechanics redundant.
