Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is a show from beginning to end, an experience that invites the user to fully experience it, a full background with it and the possibilities it offers us, in short: to be lived. Its great variety of missions, with a long-lasting campaign that revisits some of its best scenarios is its main asset. To all this adds its multiplayer and survival modes, something that makes the total package very complete.

In part, Cyberpunk 2077 is just what we expected: Night City is full of life, cruelty and the warning of a future where humanity has been corrupted in its principles, but at the same time with style. Sometimes, the spell is broken, with problems and bugs that remind us that we are in a video game, and one that can be polished much more. A complex and ambitious title; sometimes, too much. It is also a good RPG, but not one that breaks the mold or takes us to the next evolutionary jump of the medium, with a design sometimes simpler than it seems.

Beyond Light presents itself very much in the same fashion as the previous couple of Destiny 2 expansions: rough, but extremely lovable. No one can blame you for crying over your sunset Mountaintop or the inability to run the Menagerie, sure, but hey, there’s a bunch of really cool questlines ahead, a fantastic whole side drama for the Clovis Bray family and a really fun raid experience. So, at the end of the day, that’s just how Bungie makes content.

Football Manager 21 may not look like a revolutionary entry, but the sum of its advancements, the new analytic tools, and the numerous improvements inside the match engine are enough to keep you hooked again for hundreds of hours.

NBA 2K21 on the court is a true showcase of the next generation of consoles, a leap of quality with the best sports gameplay ever in a game. But, off the court, it demonstrates everything that's been wrong with NBA 2K for the past years: a pay-to-win experience riddled with microtransactions that drowns what otherwise could be an excellent game.

A great JRPG you should play if you would like to live a great and classic adventure. Unfortunately, this edition is a graphic port from Nintendo Switch, so it doesn't shine like the original release.

Empire of Sin is a practically unique title in the current video game scene. The combination of role-playing mechanics with turn-based combat, together with the empire management system and diplomacy, makes this a very particular game. It has really been a fun experience, it is a pleasure to role-play a mafia boss who is gaining notorious points as his dominance over the city and the other gangs grows. However, I have the feeling that many of its mechanics are not exploited in the most appropriate way, as the whole of its proposal has not been able to coalesce as would have been desirable. However, it is a title to take into account of which I would like to see a continuation that knows how to take everything it proposes one step further since, on the table, it has enough ingredients to be more than just a good game.

A fascinating adventure with a beautiful side in his visuals and great playability. His taste it's like an old-school game, but makes great points in the adventure genre with captivating music and a unique world.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition is a good port to consoles. It lacks some of the PC content and it has some technical problems, but it is still a very good experience.

Visage is a great survival horror that will scare you with terrific atmosphere, the jumpscares and its grotesque phantoms.

This remake is the perfect excuse to revisit or discover for the first time a work that strengthened the video game industry a decade ago.

A must-have for Zelda fans that wanted a more in deep explanation about the events of Zelda Breath of the Wild. It's still a musou game, not a Zelda game, and it has some technical issues. However, it's also a great collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo, so it deserves a try.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War feels like one of the best ways to rely on old traditions: sure, you know what to expect from pretty much every aspect of the game already, but at least it’s fun, immersive and to some extent, refreshing. Puzzles and investigations are more than welcome for the campaign whereas big maps and VIP escort are cool, different paced additions to the same old modes we’ve been playing for ages.

Part Time UFO is an interesting new approach to the puzzles games by HAL Laboratory. Particularly fun when played in coop, it's charming, humorous and a good choice if you like this kind of games.

Spider-Man Miles Morales isn't as good as Insomniac's last, but it's also a nice way to launch your PS5 experience. A great action and adventure game that could be awesome with some innovation and fresh ideas.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon manages to offer a full fledged JRPG adventure while keeping everything that made the series so beloved by fans. The RPG aspects of the game could use some more depth, but the strength of the story, the absurd side missions and a charismatic new main character show that the future for the Yakuza series is brighter than ever.

A great second step in the new horror franchise of Supermassive Games. Creepy and spooky, with lots of jump scare. A perfect plan for Halloween.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the best choice in order to discover -or rediscover- one of the best Wii U games. This edition adds coop for story mode, new missions, a high difficulty setting and more. Definitely, it's a good improvement when compared with the original release.

London in Watch Dogs Legion is a great open world with a lot of things, crazy actions and hacks to do, and is really fun. But it repeats the same mistakes of previous Watch Dogs games, with a poor driving experience and missions with a lack of variety.

Ghostrunner is a fast, gory and thoughtful parkour game set in a cyberpunk environment. Every challenge is built with a puzzling, Portal-esque gimmick where platforming and combat must be executed swiftly and flawlessly since everything is a one-hit K.O. The result is a crazy fun experience that speedrunners will love thoroughly, as well as a good test for Nvidia's latest tech on PC.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New 'n' Tasty is a great remake, also now available on Nintendo Switch. If you want to try this classic, this edition is definitely a good choice.

Partisans 1941 is a good title within the genre of tactical action that inevitably recalls what was seen in the Commandos saga. The addition of the camp management, as well as the different improvement trees of each of the characters try to give it its own identity and they succeed in many moments. Unfortunately, the lack of depth in some of its facets, as well as the poor behavior of the enemy AI in some segments of the game, spoil the result of a work that would not have felt bad for something more epic within its narrative than accompany its excellent sound section as it deserves.

Amnesia Rebirth is a thrilling horror story with clever puzzles, a great setting and disturbing moments like the classic Amnesia.

9 Monkeys of Shaolin is nothing more than what it sets out to be: a fun beat 'em up game filled with action and martial arts. It could use some more polish and variety, as well as better pacing throughout the levels, but what it lacks in does aspects, it makes up with fluid combat and a gameplay that is really fun to get into.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is a great remaster of the most controversial AoE. It still looks fantastic 15 years later thanks to new textures and visual effects. Despite the lack of new campaigns, the game adds new civilizations and new modes for the enjoyment of the fans.

With only a few new features in the playability side FIFA 21 will be remembered as one of the most disappointing games in the golden era of the franchise. Still being a solid product with lots of hours of game and tons of pure football, but it has no regrets with the player base who buys the game every season.

Genshin Impact is one of the biggest surprises of the year. We thought it could be big, but not so big. Its production value is impressive and it is not only fun, but also addictive and it has many hours of gameplay.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a legit new entry in the legendary franchise from Naughty Dog. A great revival of one of the biggest icons of the 32 bit generation.

Inspired by classics like X-Wing, Star Wars Squadrons combines arcade and simulation action to offer a compelling combat space experience.

Mafia was a great action game with a thrilling story and charismatic characters, and now, you can enjoy it in a remarkable remake, with impressive graphics and new gameplay mechanics.

If you are a lover of hack and slash and can endure the pull of the roguelite mechanics, Hades is a title that you cannot stop playing. The sense of progression both in the adventure, as well as in your skills and strategic understanding of it is magnificent, extremely comforting and totally addictive. The experience invites you to be replayed over and over again, turning your narrative exercise into an element worthy of being explored and further developed in the future by Supergiant Games. Hades has already reached the Olympus of video games, that Zagreo leaves Tartarus depends solely on you.

Spelunky 2 is the sequel that Derek Yu's classic deserved. More of everything and without losing an iota of its essence. Lovers of a good challenge will find a perfect refuge in this game that requires a great deal of patience and coordination, but the continuous feeling of improvement that you get from this great roguelite is totally worth it. You can be reproached for not having had a more polished or complete online section. However, it is not something that many will take into account when enjoying one of the best games ever made within its genre.

Windbound is pretty much a breath of fresh air for the sandbox-survival-crafting scenario where the sense of exploration is the real protagonist. It’s easy to pick up and easy to play, but one would wish the enemy AI was smarter and technical side as a whole, less buggy.

An original arcade racing game granted with a drift-based gameplay as satisfying as challenging.

NBA 2K21 still offers the best gameplay in any sports game this generation, but the lack of innovation does little to distinguish this game from the previous year's entry. If you add a new shooting system that is counterintuitive, the utter disinterest by the studio in the single-player modes, and the ever present microtransactions, you finish up with a game that could be much greater than what it manages to be.

Total War Troy has all you love in Total War series: epic massive battles, a good city-management system and great setting.

If I like something about video games, it is that they never cease to amaze me. I did not expect anything from PGA Tour 2K21, maybe those low expectations have played in his favor I do not deny it, but the truth is that I have found a good game in him. Its adaptability to different levels, the feeling of progress in your game, the local multiplayer and that feeling of not being able to leave the controller on the table and always wanting a little more are its greatest supporters. I hope that the community will give this title a chance that it needs it to continue growing and improve its deficiencies for future iterations. Hopefully in PGA Tour 2K22 we can handle pro players on the circuit and find a deeper career mode.

Iron Harvest 1920+ is an amazing, fun and fast-paced game. His direct action, betting on what is strictly necessary and setting his sights on satisfying the player is his greatest success. Hours fly by building and managing his precious war machines. It only remains to see how the game works in the competitive scene, but its background, and KING Art Games' approach to continue providing it with content, are good starting points. I've had a great time playing this unexpected surprise. The hours have flown by and I still want more. If you like the genre, Iron Harvest is a must-have title.

Crusader Kings III is a title in almost all its aspects and it immediately Becomes one of the benchmarks of its genre. Its balance between the number of options and accessibility to these is superb, and if we add to this the emerging narrative that seems an inexhaustible source of continuous plots, stories and conspiracies, we have a title that borders on perfection. And the best thing is that it is not only for the most experienced in this genre, but for anyone who wants to start in it. For all these reasons, Crusader Kings III is an indispensable game for all lovers of palace stories beyond its perfect management and strategy.

A nearly perfect revival of one of the biggest skate video games in history.

It is still a good game, fun because the foundation is right and the ideas attractive, but it could have offered a more unique character, instead of focusing only on reducing the realism and being more accessible.

Nexomon: Extinction isn’t going to dethrone Pokémon, but it’s a rather interesting alternative for those who want to hunt yet even more mons before the next big game comes out. Its story is pretty decent, has a good sense of humor, and the environments are really beautiful. Still, it has pretty rough edges in terms of progression, balance and design. Some will get patched in time, others will likely remain untouched.

Wasteland 3 is a post apocalyptic RPG with one of the most impressive and surprising reactive narratives of the last years. It's a great adventure with good turn battle combats and a great atmosphere, so, if you want to explore a dark and cruel world, this is one of the best options in the genre.

It's possible that the hybridization of styles may it lose some steam, as it is a short experience, but there is no doubt that its essence is very intense. Solid. Intimate.

Spiritfarer is not looking for you. It finds you. A fantastic travel by sea in which you will discover a deep message and a satisfying sense of peace. Not for everyone, but that is precisely the best thing about the game.

Hyper Scape proposes some good ideas within its genre. The fusion of weapons and hacks works really well and makes exploration make sense within the beautiful city of Neo Arcadia. Its fast-paced action and scenes rich in verticality and hot spots are undoubtedly its greatest attractions. Rotating game modes invite the community to return and others may be drawn to its 'ghost mode' resuscitation and assist system. However, those who come from other similar experiences may not feel completely linked to Ubisoft's proposal, of which only time and its seasons will be able to tell if it is a success or not.

Risk of Rain 2 is a must have. A love letter to the genre, a fun and engaging experience with tons of content, personality, and secrets. Version 1.0 adds a great final boss on top of the many enemies, items, challenges, maps and features included in the same patch and the previous ones.

Microsoft Flight Simulator returns with a delightful new chapter whose main character is freedom. Travel across the world learning how to fly properly. Graphically awesome but not so impressive as we imagined.

UFC 4 takes fighting simulation to a new level. Great campaign and fabulous control where fighters from all over the world can take advantage of the different layers available to be UFC champions.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is arguably one of the best games from the entire PS4 exclusive lineup, and a fan-favorite as well. Now, the PC version provides more than enough options to customize the experience for MKB players in a wide variety of hardware, including 21:9 and 32:9 displays, high resolution standard displays, and decent-ish graphics cards. Would have loved to see additional RTX options such as DLSS 2.0, one of the best features from Death Stranding on PC.

Creaks is the new puzzle game from Amanita Design, creators of Machinarium. Creaks is a beautiful trip to the deepest of our world filled with monsters scared of the light. It is not as good as Machinarium but is awesome anyway.

Crysis Remastered is another good job made by Saber Interactive, an awesome port which retains all the good things we remembered from the PC version of Crysis.

Carrion perfectly achieves his purpose of making us feel like a powerful creature of unknown origin, wiping out the poor humans in our path.

A successful return to the roots of the Paper Mario series. The Origami King is a charming RPG that is going to satisfy everyone expecting a good sense of humor, inventive battles and a powerful exploration system.

Ghost of Tsushima is a game with a twilight zone. It has one of the most beautiful worlds we have ever seen and the combat is one of the most fun systems in an open world. Its missions, however, become repetitive and simple and it fails to engage the player due to the lack of depth in its characters.

Death Stranding seeks to subvert the concept that we have of an open world, giving more importance to exploration and discovery. A game with a story that hits the primary emotions of the player, addressing existentialist themes as few games have accomplished to do.

The most satisfactory F1 videogame in the Codemasters series, both from a driving experience and management perspective.

Iron Man VR is one of the most attractive, fun and exciting games released for PSVR in quite a while. It’s far from perfect, but it’s an interesting action game and a great fan service.

Catherine: Full Body for Nintendo Switch is a good port that sacrifices just what is fair to offer the best possible experience. If you want to play with Vincent anywhere, this version will not disappoint you.

One of the best arena fighters available for Switch. Vibrant battles, colorful arenas and unique weapons are its best features. A very good free to play attempt by GungHo Online Entertainment.

A very interesting option to play a great arcade open world racing game. This remastered version for Nintendo Switch is far from being perfect, but it is still an enjoyable game.

Persona 4 Golden is a magnificent opportunity, and even more so after the overwhelming success of Persona 5, to get to know one of the most beloved installments by the fans, which solidified the pillars of the franchise.

Valorant is arguably the least imaginative competitor that CS:GO might ever have, but it’s one that’s free and that’s built with strict gunplay and tech purposes in mind. At its core, Riot Games’ FPS is a rock solid, unquestionably good product. Is it good enough to appeal the community in the way LoL did, though? Probably too early to say, so let’s check again in a few years.

Remastered Collection is a great example of how I would like all remastered version to be made.

Borderlands Legendary Collection brings the unique charm and craze from the beloved saga to the Nintendo Switch hardware, and despite the many technical limitations one might expect from it, we’re actually beholding a pretty good looking bundle, one that also happens to include an absurd amount of content and top notch refinements.

BioShock The Collection gives us the opportunity to explore Rapture and Columbia on a portable console, and it's a fantastic experience. Virtuos forms a solid adaptation for Nintendo Switch, with good graphics and tons of quality contents.

An excellent opportunity to discover one of the best J-RPG games ever made. Better graphics, big gameplay improvements and a new story. Definitely, the best option to play Xenoblade Chronicles nowadays.

Just as expected, Minecraft: Dungeons is a wholesome character building game that one might be tempted to tag as a ‘cute Diablo’. Don’t fool yourself though —higher difficulties and bosses are indeed challenging, and you’re forced to think and act swiftly. Fortunately, Mojang lets you build your own hero on the fly, just by swapping their equipment, so you’ll end up trying tons of fun new stuff very often.

Huntdown is a beautiful pixel art style game deeply inspired by the arcade action of the 80s and featuring great boss design.

ITTA is a good indie title that manages to congruently combine a series of genres under the same production. With an eye-catching storyline, he manages to attract and propel the player in his advance, being at all times entertained in his exploration and combat sequences. Unfortunately, some aspects such as its low difficulty and duration mean that it cannot be considered as relevant a game within the independent scene as others that have preceded it.

A good game for cooperative fun with friends. Well-designed levels and an important use of physics gives as result a very recommended videogame, which lacks variety and more hours of gameplay.

SnowRunner is not fun, it manages to be a rewarding experience for a small section of the public and it improves on its predecessors in practically every section. The sensations when driving on different terrains and the need to prioritize strategy and planning over speed or brute force are his best guarantees. It has little to compare with in a market that its own franchise has created, without a doubt we are facing a unique game. Suitable only for a few.

With this completely independent release you can afford to try out all sorts of bold ideas without anyone bothering too much. Some of these ideas are refreshing and could be a good addition to the main series. Other ideas run the risk of over-simplifying campaigns and player strategies, in pursuit of a faster pace.

Streets of Rage 4 it's a gorgeous homepage to a forgotten franchise from Sega. Still loved by his fans, Guard Crush signs the best entry in the Bare Knuckle saga in 2020.

Gears Tactics it's a great experiment that proves the versatility of the franchise Gears of War. Dismiss the chance of telling a great history of the Emergency Day and maybe it's a little repetitive, but it's a great first step in the turn-based strategy.

MotoGP 20 adds improvements to get more realism in the series. It is an evolution in the right direction, considering previous entries, but it still has a big margin to improve.

Time has finally done justice to recognize the relevance of Trials of Mana in the JRPG genre.

Modern Warfare 2’s campaign has always been one of the most praised story modes for the entire first person shooter genre. Welp, it’s back, better than ever. It could use some more innovative goodness here and there but the overall result is a gorgeous and entertaining campaign from beginning to end.

Good Job! is really a good job in terms of development and enjoyment, even more if you play it in coop. Definitely, a little surprise for Nintendo Switch.

I have spent 39 great hours with this remake, its brilliant combat system, the good memories and tributes to the original work and the committed expansion of the story. And one hour, the final, of complete uncertainty. The balance is positive. The aftertaste, bitter.

Despite Resistance isn’t the best companion for the campaign and that Nemesis is more scripted and foreseeable than I expected, Resistance 3 is a great adventure with plenty of action and scares.

Half-Life: Alyx is a revolution not only in the field of virtual reality, but in that of video games in general.

A fighting game developed for all levels of expertise. Great for newcomers, awesome for true fighters. Maybe a little short with the content, but the future releases can help to make GranBlue Fantasy Versus one of the latest greatest hits in the new golden era of the 2D fighting genre.

Persona 5 Royal takes one of the best adventures of this generation and turns it even better with so much content, so many improvements, that it completely blew any expectations that we had. No wonder it's got a "Royal" title, as it has crowned itself as one of the best JRPGs ever created.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a natural and worthy successor to Black Ops 4’s Blackout —one that grows strong in its predecessor’s innovations and sense of action but one that also addresses the most common flaws in your average battle royale games.

It seems difficult to think that the Doom franchise can raise its level of intensity even further, but it certainly does. Not only are all the additions welcome, but we can no longer imagine Doom without them.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a right evolution in the series, based on customization, looting and crafting. Definitely, the biggest title in the AC franchise, but also a very conservative one.

Nioh 2 is a fun game and tremendously similar to the original piece. Not only in its system, but reusing many elements of its interface, equipment and enemies - and even bosses and scenarios.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps has everything we loved about the original game. It's beautiful and charming, with a powerful metroidvania feeling. Just a brilliant sequel.

Black Mesa is more than a plain remake, is the passionate love letter from a team of amateur developers that grew to become the licensed creators of a great game, that actually lives up to the legend that is Half-Life.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is exactly what it should be: a true, solid remake to the GBA/DS classics. It’s been refreshed by a charming art style, animations and overall feeling and controls, but one might want a slightly more ambitious approach to endgame, controls and extras.

Not so special in terms of new content, but still a good option for everyone interested in playing one of the best hack 'n slash exponents in videogames history.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is a good action isometric perspective RPG that knows how to take what you need from games like Diablo III or Path of Exile. Its playability is fun and demanding, although it does not escape the sense of repetitiveness inherent in the works of its genre. It highlights the excellent work that has been carried out in the system of skills improvements and levels rise, but it is dazzled by a multiplayer section still pending some improvements in its servers, although it has been on track since its launch. With a new mode at the end of the main campaign, the options for those who wish to stay are endless. Undoubtedly, one of the surprises of this beginning of the year that, will have to do with time if it stays in a “take away” while Diablo IV arrives or manages to keep his community hooked with new content.
