Adult Swim's physics trial racer is good, but mostly wheel-spinning.

A little too simplistic for comfort, Monsters University is a pretty by-the-numbers Auto Runner game.

There's a very limited audience for this game, and it's people who have friends with iOS devices who want to play multiplayer with their friends with this game. Otherwise, it's best leaving this one to history.

The Complex is a formulaic FMV adventure that would be more enjoyable if not for some significant design flaws.

Exit Strategy isn't sure if it's a lateral thinking puzzle game or a twitchy arcade game, but it awkwardly straddles both.

Even great artwork can't save Arcane Battles from feeling as generic as its name.

There's a good game at Goblin Legion's core. Too bad it's drowned out by all of its near-crippling issues. Fun is there but finding it takes too much work.

Kung Fu Spinner isn't for everyone because it lacks depth, but it did prove to be enjoyable as a pick-up and play title when I didn't have much time to game.

Really, with the control flaws, and with so many other physics puzzlers that aren't as frustrating to control, why spend any time on this one? It's not bad…but there are a million alternatives. Play one of them first.

MiniBattle tries to capture the fun and excitement found in other turn-based games involving chucking ordinance at other players, but in the end it doesn't even come close.

Gunner Z has plenty of zombie-killing action, but does it ever get to be fun?

Blade of Darkness shows plenty of promise, and I'm still holding out hope for it, but in its current state it's something of a Hot Mess. It'll no doubt interest (and maybe even entertain) dungeon crawling fans, but it requires an awful lot of patience to endure. Especially in the beginning. Still, with a little fine-tuning it could become quite the thing.

With its endless amount of upgrades and simple gameplay, War Tortoise 2 falls into a category of game I tend to label as “something to do.” It’s not super engaging, it’s mildly satisfying, and probably is the kind of game that fits the bill for someone who just wants something they can check in on while binging Netflix. That said, the game’s sluggish pace can make even distracted play feel painstaking.

The basic concepts in OK Golf are sound, but I wish there was more built around it. The game looks great and plays well enough, but once I finished it, I never felt the need to revisit it. Much like a diorama, OK Golf feels like a miniaturized golf experience that looks great, but is ultimately pretty lifeless.

Rebellion and publisher Fuse need to make a decision: 1) make Judge Dredd vs. Zombies free and keep the current microtransaction system, 2) make the game a little more expensive and relax the progression restrictions a bit, or 3) keep it at the current price and relax the restrictions a lot. A simple, decently fun shooter of this caliber is worth a couple of bucks, but don't virtually lock already paying customers out of the experience for the sake of milking a few more dollars. That's disappointingly disingenuous and just plain unfair.

While the limited number of lives in Topsoil might sound like a bummer, you'll know whether or not this game is for you by the time you have to decide between watching an ad or paying for the game to keep playing. For me, Topsoil's minimal approach is just a little too barebones to make me stick with it. There are other puzzle games I'd rather play.
