Awesome movie. There are some overtly sexist parts but it's from a different time. There were way too many young men on the streets of London for war time.

Well made super heroes movie, at least it's much better than "batman vs superman". Unfortunately character development needed improvement and this movie is more of an action type.

Truthfully, anyone going to a superhero movie for a great story is highly disconnected from reality. All these movies end up the same in the end, so substance is not a strong point. What this movie does right is the acting. There is a reason this movie is great while other movies like Elektra and Cat Woman sucked. Acting, Acting, Acting. This movie has it. It truly is what separates Wonder Woman from being another run of the mill superhero movie. Strong recommendation to see. We will be seeing it a second time before it leaves theaters for sure. Expand

One of the best movies I've watched and instantly became one of my faves. Gal Gadot now became my first favorite actress and will now gladly watch all of her past and future films. It tackles one of the most interesting concept that is usually used by many films but they portrayed it with so much heart. Chris Pine and Gal Gadot had such wonderful chemistry, and the acting was great! I wrote this review as short as possible so that I can watch it again for the 4th time, so toodles!
I rate this film a Gal Gadot out of a Gal Gadot!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was expecting plot twists such as she is the daughter of ares or the notebook was sunk into sea of themyscira and the invasion scene was at the end of the movie. Turns out it was incredibly linear with the underlining philosophy being human kind is complicated? This idea was not resonated in the start or middle of the film. Expand

The acting is so far above and beyond what one would expect from a summer blockbuster. The set and costume design is superb. Be it fantasy or WW1 Europe, the world is so beautiful and believable that at times it feels like an Oscar-level effort was put fourth. The film breaks up the drama with expertly delivered comedy that manages to somehow come off as non-campy. The characters were incredibly believable and felt so human and relateable. The character arc of Diana was so incredible, worthy of the great myths the story references and borrows from. Chris Pine delivers easily his best performance to date. Coming out of the theater I felt pumped up and excited, a feeling that I was starting to think I would never get from a movie again. The movie gets a 10/10 from me, and I don't take that kind of rating lightly. This movie is a true masterwork, and I feel like DC is going to have an insurmountable task to even come close to this level of greatness in the near future. Expand

Where this movie succeeds is not only having bad ass action and good characters, but having real themes that make use of Wonder Women's powers and humanity's Great War. The film also doesn't shy away from using implied imaginary to get across its point as well.

The acting is amazing all around as well as the action. Everything looks great in the film, and it is a joy to watch.

If I had to name any flaws, I would say the action does use slow mo a bit too much. It is also a bit long, which didn't mind me because it used every minute in great fashion but it does go on for a while.

While most reviewers of the current film, "Wonder Woman," are singing praises to its actors--and fine they are--they also seem to be overly concerned with the box office worthiness of what they term "the summer blockbuster." That commentaryWhile most reviewers of the current film, "Wonder Woman," are singing praises to its actors--and fine they are--they also seem to be overly concerned with the box office worthiness of what they term "the summer blockbuster." That commentary is irrelevant and beside the point. What we, the movie-going public, actually care about is not the profits but the worthiness of the film. Is it a compelling story with emotional appeal, characters we care about and crafty, perhaps even artistic, visual style? Thankfully "Wonder Woman" checks all those boxes. It is done artfully and without condescension. While the filmmakers deploy delightful light touches to move the story forward, they also have the gall to show disturbing examples of the horrors of war and man's inhumanity to man. We see this through the eyes of an innocent witness, Diana, who reacts as we should to the horror of it all. There is a grounded realism and reality behind this butt-kicking homage to the women's movement in film and in the world--a theme that resonates and a resolve that captivates. That's the true wonder of "Wonder Woman." --cal Expand

Training montage, death of a close person to the protagonist, the usual "join me, humans are not equal to us", and even some actual humors (No, there was absolutely no real humor in the previous 3 DCEU movies)!

But boy did it work so well! The villain and the sidekicks might be a bit forgettable, but this movie will be the one remembered for the one that probably single-handedly changed general public's perception of DCEU. After the just OK Man of Steel and the less-than-mediocre duo of BvS and Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman is the one that we sorely needed.

Action scenes are fun to watch. Suspenseful scenes are thrilling. Twists are entertaining (even if not shocking). Cute/Comedic scenes are funny. Ending was good and the way they gave her power to overcome the final boss was also smart. This is the new gold standard of an super heroine movie. There are many great things that happened with this movie, all explained by others at length, so I won't go over them again, I'll just focus on some negatives since there are fewer of those:

Gal Gadot's acting could have been better in several ways. Her dramatic scenes have her looking like a teenager _pretending_ to be dramatic like an adult. Most of her fight scenes look like she's going through some motions recently explained to her by a trainer, too concentrated on making the right moves and not paying any attention to her facial expressions: she doesn't look like someone righteously furious in striking enemies down, just someone going through their gym routine or something. By contrast, I was far far more impressed with Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen, whom I wish I could see more of in their amazon roles in the future.

The story feels rushed at times, I think this might've worked better as a 3-hour feature.

The choice of David Thewlis as (a moustached?!) Ares was jarring to say the least, but this may be apparent only to those also currently following S3 of Fargo, where he's playing a positively disgusting character, nothing to do with the awesomeness of a god (though he had every bit of help that could be expected from the script and direction).

Overall still a satisfying experience, well worth the ticket price, but with some minuses I just had to mention, particularly regarding Gal's acting, as everyone who liked the movie seems to be praising her uncritically left and right.

Who else but skillful actresses like Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright could make Amazons believable, and Gal Gadot is a great find – totally warm, appealing, and convincing as she matured in the film without being distractingly sexual, even in skimpy costumes. Chris Pine was also wonderful as were Danny Huston and David Thewlis. But the real credit must go to the director who kept things moving yet made an interesting film for many different audiences that had plenty of action and spectacle without being empty-hearted or empty-headed. Patty Jenkins’ direction was a real triumph, although not unexpected from the director of a great film like Monster that deservedly made Charlize Theron a star. Expand

I knew the movie was gonna be good when it started getting great reviews from everyone, but I didn't expect this. Gal Gadot perfectly embodies Wonder Woman to a tee. She is so charismatic in this film and brings so much more to the character and the film. How can I forget about the wonderful chemistry between her and Chris Pine. Chris was perfectly cast and there dialogue between each other is so smooth and extremely funny/ meaningful. And Chris was extremely funny as well, hitting all the right moments. I absolutely loved the action scenes and you can definitely see it did have a little bit of Zack Snyder's slow mo-speed up action which I actually really enjoyed in this one, and was utilized very well. Every act progressively got better and better too, but I have to have some type of negative in this and it comes in the third act. The fight scene was really awesome, but I do think it relied a little too bit on CGI, which I was okay with, but was noticeable. i have not been this blown away by a DC movie since The Dark Knight in 2008, and i'm gonna say it this is the best DC movie since The Dark Knight in '08. This is a step in the right direction after the massive disappointments of Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman. I hope this can get DC back in the race with Marvel before it's too late. Expand

Mmmm... yes and no. While the movie really surprises me, being much better than I anticipated, with a strong cast and a Gal Gadot that actually does very well, a story that while very cliched is also nicely paced and with bombastic action, a musical score that while not as emblematic as Batman's or Superman's is very nicely done as at least in some parts capture the nature of the characters with excellence, you get a movie that does justice to the third part of the trinity and the biggest female superhero in comics. On the other hand, this doesn't mean that all the bad and bland done before is all forgotten, this is one shining example that the DCEU can be done right and with justice to the characters, and who they are supposed to be, but it's not enough to fill me with confidence going forward. Nevertheless, Wonder Woman shows not only that super heroines can be done right and have public acclaim (see Marvel? it can be done!). On the bad sides of this movie I have to include the not so well-developed and kind of bland villains (even if Ares in the final battle is neatly done), but also the lack of supporting characters that are well developed or interesting, and the first part on Paradise Island which is not that well handled and ends up a little boring. All in all, I can definitely say that this movie is surprisingly well, and give my recommendation for DC fans and movie fans to go and support it. Good job DC, see you can actually do it if you put a little effort, now replicate it in Justice League and we'll talk about start catching up with Marvel. Final Verdict: 7.7 Expand

I give it a 10/10 (despite a few flaws imo) because it just really took me by surprise. I was wowed from start to finish. Right from the very beginning when you're introduced to her world, the paradise island of Themyscira, you can't stop soaking in the imagery, the beauty, the wonder, the power, the majesty, the lore. Seeing Diana as a sweet, eager child watching these warrior women train and fight, wanting to be like them from that young age...her curiosity and desire to fight.. and when her mother tells her the story of the gods and their own history, you're completely captivated along with her. Throughout the film you grow with this character, you see her develop, learn, face the realities of the world, struggle with herself and the way she thought things were... Steve Trevor played brilliantly by Chris Pine is such a perfect costar for Gal Gadot - he works perfectly with her, and honestly it's their chemistry, relationship, charisma and overall story that makes this whole movie work so well. I just wanna see it again...and now I'm incredibly excited to see more of Wonder Woman and this DC film universe. Oh, and make sure to give Patty Jenkins the reigns of the DCEU - she is a godsend! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In a world where men rule the Super hero franchise Patty Jenkins shows that woman can make an excellent movie that is different from the standard super hero movies. Patty Jenkins was able to bring a new breath into the DCEU franchise by giving it a new hope. Gal Gaddot embraces the role of Wonder Woman and proves that woman can have as much fun as male superheroes. Her optimism to save every single person she meets in the war is inspiring and is also grounded by her foil Steve Trevor played by Chris Pine. Pine was an excellent foil to Diana grounding her and reminding her sometimes people just do bad things because they are just simply bad. From the opening scene to the end I was 100% attached and this movie has become my favorite DC movie besides the Dark Knight Trilogy. Even though I really enjoyed this movie there were a few things that I didn't like. The CGI was very noticeable especially in the beginning of the film. Must of the time I would be so into the story and then CGI would appear and it took me out and thought "ehh that didn't really look that good". The other part I didn't like was the villains, without going into spoilers, the villains fall for the normal underdeveloped characters like in all super hero movies, Marvel and Dc both fall from this. Also the third act was a little messy but not to bad. At the end of the day this was a really good movie and I believe not matter what fanboy you are Marvel or DC everyone should check this movie out, because this is an achievement for woman everyone and it is also a very well made movie. That is why I am giving it a 9/10 Expand

That being said, if it wasn't for Chris and Gal's chemistry and acting, it would have been a 5/10 to me. All the other characters were just boring caricatures with no soul. I found it was almost 2 separate movies in terms of look, I guess they needed to match the DCEU so far but the colours and humour made such a difference. Again, I found the only funny parts were between Chris and Gal, none of the other characters were funny even though they tried.

The action was great and then not, you get awesome scenes where you see her just look like a complete badass. I guess how you would expect a super human would look fighting regular people. There is a scene in a city where she runs through it and it's just great in all the outdoor scenes and then when they get indoor and close quarters they use too much slow motion and completely unrealistic movements. It's funny how a 130lb woman running through buildings and jumping up walls looks more believable than her just fighting 5 guys in a room.

Fantastic movie. I wouldn't say it's the best of the DCEU so far (Man of Steel still holds that title in my eyes), but Wonder Woman is definitely a close second.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The women's superhero movies must be better than the DC fans.
Wonder Woman leaps and bounds above the other three shows in DCEU. With breathtaking scenes, a few entertaining accessory scenes and strong supporting cast, everyone works together to tell the story of the hero's journey. Inspired it more than the occasional compensations expressed in the Gadot part, and some technical shaky. The third fight is messy, it's another superhero movie, and even Wonder Woman can not beat it. Overall, Wonder Woman is a winner, because it succeeds in telling the story of a woman who's power. Fight the world of war with the power of love. What is more courageous?

Less bleak and way more fun and entertaining than Batman vs Superman. Gal Gadot is phenomenal throughout and has great chemistry with Chris Pine. Pine is also probably at his best with a sharp wit and charm.
The villains do feel like they could also work in a Captain America movie. Danny Huston and Elena Anaya give chilling performances nevertheless.
The big battle in the end between good and evil is just a little goofy. Gadot owns every scene though, even that one. Her lasso of truth would come off worse on the big screen. If everything she didn't either come off bad ass or humorous even. She could probably even pull off the invisible jet.
While Hans Zimmer may not do the score. His kick ass Wonder Woman theme from Batman vs Superman returns. Which was probably the best thing to come from that movie. That score goes with the character extremely well.
After the movie my niece said "that might be even better than any Marvel film!" As a fan of Marvel as well, I have to agree. Wonder Woman was amazing.

This origin story starts on a secluded island where she lives among the Amazons. When a handsome spy crash lands (charmingly amusing Chris Pine), he brings the bleak reality of WWI, which motivates her to fight for peace. Gal Gadot is beautiful and vulnerable, yet tough in the title role. Perfect casting. Director Patty Jenkins has fashioned an adventure with strong visuals and beautifully stylized action. As with so many superhero flix, it could have been 30 minutes shorter. Also, the climactic battle fell back on the typical tropes of a tired superhero encounter. Still, it checks most of the boxes for a visually appealing and amply engaging superhero movie. Expand

It serves as the DCEU's first critically successful entry, and for good reason. Princess Diana might not redefine how superhero films work, but it brings a great deal or heart and heroism to the table. Gal Gadot's performance has the right amount of hopefulness and naivety, while also being a total badass in the action scenes. Watching the character come to terms with the flawed nature of humanity is compelling. Director Patty Jenkin's depiction of WWI is fantastic.

Elements of the fantasy genre are noticeable throughout, particularly in the first portion of the film. The bright, colorful environments are gorgeous and a nice change of pace from the blacks and greys of the other DC films it shares a cinematic universe with. The lore provides an interesting take on Greek mythology. Seeing such an optimistic, selfless superhero isn't exactly something new, but lately when every other hero seems to be struggling with their morals and fighting each other, it's good to see this return to form. Especially since it's done so well.

After years of waiting, Wonder Woman has finally gotten her own film. One befitting of the character. Not only does she bring hope to those around her in the film, but she also uplifts DC comics fans by bringing them the first truly good movie in the DCEU. One that delivers in every way it needed to. 9.3/10

A good buildup for Diana and an excellent middle portion of the movie leads an overly long end portion with a villain who's look does not fit the role that was provided. There's clearly much more direction and clarity involved with this movie and it really was well done. Especially Chris Pine and Gal Gadot, whose chemistry was amazing and some of the best parts of the movie are when they're alone. But I'd hold off on calling this the saving grace for the DC universe. With only one good movie under it's belt before the Justice League, DC is still on shaky ground here in terms of competing with Marvel. Expand

Wonder WomanGadot and Pine did a great job leading the cast and had great chemistry together. The soundtrack was also wonderful (no pun intended) because it did exactly what it was meant to do and that was bringing these scenes to life. Wonder Woman maybe a superhero film but it's also very grounded and I noticed that from the jump. Diana is shown humility early on and is shown training very hard to get to where she is at, She just didn't become this amazing warrior over night. I really liked that because it's rare to see in superhero films and it helped set the tone of the whole film.

My only complaint about Wonder Woman would be that the plot was very generic. I liked the story, There was a perfect blend of comedy and drama through out. It was just a bit too predictable. They played it a bit safe there and it does kind of annoy me but the journey to the end is the most important part and I liked the film enough to ignore the weak plot.

My biggest and highest praise is for Patty Jenkins, the director of this film. It's her first film since 2003 and she absolutely owned it. I truly feel she is the reason why this movie is good and I really hope DC and WB snatch her up for the sequel. She did an absolutely fantastic job with Wonder Woman.

Before Wonder Woman for me DCEU's movies hadn't been great, sure there were some good movies Like Suicide Squad or Man of Steel but I felt that no other DC movies after The Dark Knight Trilogy were great until now.

With Wonder Woman DC gets it right for many reasons first being the tone of the movie, this movie had that Dark tone which DC movies have generally but it wasn't gloomy or unnecessary at all the tone fit in with the story and there was humor in the film, like a really acceptable amount. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is a great choice she was awesome in her action sequences and the emotional parts were good, Chris Pine was also good as Steve Trevor as he is alove interest to Wonder Woman but also his character was well driven, likeble and had some funny pieces of dialogue. The Main Villain which is a surprise was also good as you don't see much of him within until the third act but when he Shows up he is awesome and had great action sequences against Wonder Woman and his motivations were understandable.

Since Wonder Woman is an Origin story one would expect some slow pace but this movie didn't have slow pace at all as the story moved quickly but wasn't rushed well most part.Let's get back to Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman her performance I must say is very different from other Superhero performances because her character Wonder Woman is incredibly naive as she wants to save the world but doesn't actually know how the world works as she thinks humanity is perfect and doesn't think the bad things people do is their fault and as the movie goes on she start s to realize that the world isn't perfect and humanity is flawed and Gal Gadot's performance sells it and her character being so naive and yet hopefully is believable.

I must say Patty Jenkins who directed the film was excellent as the action sequences her great and well directed and just some of the scenes looked to come out straight from a comic book and it fits in well with the movie and just looks good. Now let's talk about the movie's flaws during the transition to the second act to the final act of this movie some parts felt rushed and was just plain boring, the final build up to the final confrontation to the villain was sluggish and some side characters felt thrown away because there was now to much focus on Wonder Woman even though is her movie it felt strange. Also some parts are weirdly directed as some parts that felt artistic didn't really fit at some parts although most times it worked.

Without saying too much the final moments of this movie was unpredictable, emotional and awesome at the same time as there was some good action and some character arcs were wrappped up nicley.
Wonder Woman was a really good film,it had good humor, good action, really great story with emotional arcs and obviously it is the best female Superhero movie so far,the best DCEU movie and I think one of the best Superhero movies ever made and one of the best movies of 2017.

I understand if someone doesn't like this movie because they want a more campy version like Linda Carter's, so they give it a 7 or even a 6, though I stridently disagree, I understand not everyone wants the same thing from this movie. But the negative 0 and 1 reviews make no sense. I would suggest you take them with a grain of salt. They are suspicious. This movie cannot be argued by any means to have 'flat' acting etc. If I had to bet on it, I'd say those reviews are fakes inserted by someone with an ulterior motive.

Wonder Woman succeeds largely because of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Gal Gadot is a rare actress in appearance and bearing. I can't think of anyone today who could pull off Wonder Woman, especially with such heart while always maintaining a regal quality. Toning down the color of the costume was a good idea. One problem contemporary super hero movies face is, how to make the film without it seeming silly by definition. The way Wonder Woman handles this is by darkening the red and blue of the costume, setting the tale in the grim environment of WW I, and having her co-star as skeptical of her Greek gods-based theory of the world as the audience. The setup, as you likely already know, is that an island of women (Amazons) whose purpose is to protect men from the god of war (something like that anyway) encounters Germans during WWI when an Allied spy (Chris Pine) crashes his plane just off their island and the Germans come looking for him in boats. The Amazons fight them off and Chris Pine tells the women that - outside of their island paradise - the entire world is at war. So Diana, Wonder Woman, goes off with him to London to help end the war. She thinks she can end it by killing the god of war, a single being. Chris Pine has a more modern idea, delivering the intelligence he stole from the Germans to HQ. The rest of the story is Diana's discovery of the world at large, the dirtiness and lack of honor of modern warfare, and the discovery of her own powers, as she and Chris Pine each seek slightly different things together, he to destroy a factory developing a newer deadlier type of mustard gas, and she to locate and kill the god of war.

For a super hero movie Wonder Woman has a surprising number of tear-jerker moments, largely due to the fact that the WWI horrors depicted have a basis in historical fact; it has touches of humor, too, but it could use a little more of that. If the movie has one more significant flaw it is that - at no point do we know the limits of Wonder Woman's powers. So we never know how much danger she is in. I know from the comics that she cannot fly. In fact, as a kid one reason I didn't read Wonder Woman much was because she had an invisible airplane, but while the airplane was invisible, she was not. So the comic was drawn to show her in a sitting position whizzing through the sky, which just looked stupid. There is no invisible airplane in this movie, for that I'm grateful. But my point is - she can't fly, at least not in the comics to my knowledge. And yet in this movie she gets blown up into the sky more than once and descends lightly and slowly, in control, almost as if she can fly. And she leaps so high and far, it's almost as if she can fly. So the question arises, how powerful is she? Can she fly in this movie version? Is she invulnerable? She certainly takes a lot of abuse, explosions and so on, and comes out without a scratch. This is important because a key plot element turns on a decision one character makes to save her life. But at that moment I was not certain at all that her life was in danger, that her life COULD be in danger ever. And so I didn't understand why this decision was made. It was actually about 10 minutes after I left the theater, pondering what I thought was a plot error, that I realized that the decision that was made was necessary in order to save her life but the filmmakers just did a bad job of letting us know what could kill her and what could not. Wonder Woman is about compassion at least as much as she is about power. That's one reason it has so many sad moments as Diana takes in just what this war is doing to people. In fact the ending, in a key way, is a lot like the end of Return of the Jedi (without Ewoks).

Because Wonder Woman 2 will take place in modern times, not WWI (Wonder Woman doesn't age or she ages slowly), Chris Pine won't be in it. If Gal Godot isn't given someone good to act opposite, that sequel could be in trouble. Wonder Woman is so much in earnest all the time, she really needs a co-star to lighten the mood. Ben Afleck's grim bad acting did her no favors in Batman v. Superman. So for the next WW film that's going to be an issue.

If the movie rights licensees of DC comics have any sense, they will get Ben Affleck out of the Batman suit and replace him.

"Man of Steel," while entertaining, was nowhere near "spectacular," "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," no matter how much you liked it, was a gigantic disappointment, and while I've yet to watch "Suicide Squad," it kind of seems like everyone I talk to about it tells me to avoid it. So, along comes female director Patty Jenkins with her version of "Wonder Woman." And to the surprise of many, including myself, the film is actually pretty great! Obviously, it's got all the things that make a superhero movie great (a great story, good writing, interesting characters, cool action, and strong performances, specifically Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman), but for me, the film was successful for a number of other reasons. For starters, while it definitely had the actions we all expect from this kind of movie, the film definitely wasn't afraid to build its story and its characters and take the necessary time to develop them. But also, where a lot of superhero films may get caught up in franchise building, "Wonder Woman" did an incredible job standing on its own despite being part of the DCEU. In fact, outside of some very small references at the beginning and the end of the film, you could've told me that this film wasn't part of the DCEU and I would've believed you. All in all, "Wonder Woman" is a huge success and it's definitely the film the DCEU needed. Let's hope it stays this way as we continue on. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Ending of this film is literally the best part of it. When Diana fails and has lost every hope. But with the excellent editing of the film. she looks at those three soldiers, three friends who don't have any more ammo and hold each other's hands to be brave until the last second of their lives. And then, Diana loose Steve. But with that loss, she understands the love that gave Steve hope and braveness to do what must be done.
At that moment, She finally understands. She yet can hear what Steve said: "I Love You". And because of that, She has the power to destroy the symbol of hate. This is why I really enjoyed this film. At least at the end to it.

Enjoyed the character of Wonder Woman as a kid, and always felt compared to other superhero characters that she deserved her own film.

Which she gets in this 2017 effort directed by Patty Jenkins. Is 'Wonder Woman' as good as the hype and a wonder of a film? Not to me, there are a few things that stop it from being even better. Does it deserve the negativity in a lot of the comments here? While it is easy to see why people would be disappointed, as it could have been better, my answer would be no and that some of the hate is over the top.

There are problems here in 'Wonder Woman'. Part of it is to do with pacing, the film starts a little dull in places and later on as more happens in the story it felt rushed and at times it affects the storytelling which has its muddled moments.

The ending is clichéd and anti-climactic and some of the characters feel underdeveloped, especially the underused and underwritten villain.

However, 'Wonder Woman' is mostly an exceptionally made film, apart from instances of frenetic editing, with a lot of atmosphere in the production design and lighting, audacious photography and special effects that are super slick. The music has a haunting sense of mood and rousing energy, and Jenkins directs with an understanding of the titular character and accommodating the performing of Gal Gadot.

Script has some witty humour, heartfelt sentiment and also takes itself seriously without making the mistake of previous BC Extended Universe (of which 'Wonder Woman' is by far the best, actually being a good film) of being too grim and dark. The action is stirring and often spectacular in spectacle.

'Wonder Woman's' story has its faults but most of it is heartfelt and thrilling. It does the character of Wonder Woman justice with a genuinely interesting back-story that makes her a compellingly real and easy-to-relate-to character who you admire for all her strengths and flaws.

Gadot is superbly cast as Wonder Woman, creating a character that really stands out among the rest of the superhero line in terms of gender and her ideals. Chris Pine is amusing, commanding and likable with great chemistry with Gadot, while Danny Houston clearly enjoys himself as the villain. The rest of the cast do very solidly.

Overall, not a wonder but a long way from a blunder. 7/10 Bethany Cox

The casting is spot on. Chris Pine is great as the "romantic" lead and Gal Gadot is a "find". They have good chemistry. She has a beautiful face, screen charisma and will be a movie star for years to come. A wonderful Wonder Woman. For those that find fault with the feminist approach, get over it ! She is a feminine super hero so it gets told from her perspective. Right up alongside the original Iron Man as the best movie based on a DC comic super hero Expand

It surpassed my expectations even with all the acclaim prior to seeing it. The cinematography was incredibly crisp, just absolutely sublime and what I took most away from the film was that none of it was overblown. No ridiculous demands, no Deus Ex Machina garbage, having a very honest narrative can do wonders nowadays.

Gal Gadot was a superb cast as Wonder Woman. She delivered a character with a cute, dainty foreign sense of naivety infused with insane unbridled power. Of course she refined it as the film progressed but in concept it highlights how simplicity, when done right in a compelling manner with the honest narrative I touched on earlier, can unravel glorious qualities that far exceed its initial impression. It's unconventional and I love it. The rest of the cast also played their part extremely well, Chris Pine did an excellent job.

I knew this film was special when it brought me to the literal verge of tears. Goosebumps were running off of me everywhere. It was so beautiful, it was a truly transcendental experience both emotionally and categorically. Even the little music jingle scattered across the motion picture played in key moments painted a really vivid identity for the character, a very effective spice in the mix.

In terms of complaints, I wish the destinations of important events were explained better. I lost track of what was going on a few times. The villain was also a bit underwhelming. Lacks that memorable factor, especially considering the significance of their position; I felt that they didn't justify that position nearly enough for my liking. There were also some other bits and bobs that didn't link well together but they prove to be small in the grand scheme of things.

In summary, what a fantastic film. Almost masterclass standard. I have never personally watched a female superhero film before but after seeing this, where's all the funding at? Gal has to play as Wonder Woman again!

In other words, no one was yelling "LOOK, I'M A WOMAN AND I'M STRONG"; their strength was displayed in their action. For me, the best parts were the fighting sequences (especially the battles on Themyscira and No Man's Land), Wonder Woman's compassion for people (in a time where women were suppressed, she stood tall because she understood/embraced her purpose), the "fish out of water" plot was done well, Diana and Steve's chemistry (their banter was hilarious; kudos to Gal and Chris), Queen Hippolyta and General Antiope were awesome (Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright were amazing) and most of all, the Amazonians were diverse, which is socially relevant nowadays. A few scenes moved a little too slow for me, which I can overlook as I feel that happens with most origin stories I watch. Overall, I LOVED this film but not as much as my 8 year old daughter. She felt so empowered she turned to me and said, "Daddy, I feel so strong right now, like I can punch through a wall!!!" Expand

Later on in the movie Diana finds out from Steve Travor that a Great War was happen which was WW1, and she wanted to be apart of that fight because she believe that Aries God of War was involved and wanted to stop it.Steve agree to take her and they go on an adventure the likes you never seen. What made the story disappointing the fact that Steve Travor dies in the movie, in the Comics he was always alive and well in the comics. The Special effects were average not that great but it work very well for that movie. Wonder Woman is a great superhero movie, and easily the best so far in the dreadful DC Extended Universe.

The movie introduces Diana, coming from a hidden island full of Amazon warriors. All this is inspired by Greek mythology, but is presented in a unique way (like the original DC comic book stories from decades ago).

After a World War I-era plane crashes in her island, Diana leaves and journeys to the outer world, finding out that WW I is raging, and is horrified when she learns of the effects war has on people. Along with a band of soldiers she enters the battlefield in order to bring an end to this war and save humanity.

Gal Gadot made a short but impressive debut as Wonder Woman in Batman vs Superman, and in her solo movie she shows that she's the right choice to portray the character. Chris Pine is also great as Steve Trevor. Wonder Woman has the same serious tone of the previous DCEU films, but also features some much needed humor and humanity, which helps ground the movie. The scenes where Diana has to adapt to the outside world are funny enough to not reduce the film into a parody.

Overall, Wonder Woman is great. I hope DC have learnt their lessons and their future films will be more like Wonder Woman and not like Batman vs Superman or Suicide Squad.
