An absolute BLAST!
First off this movie is for kids and fans of Nintendo and the Mario franchise. I still think an adult who isnt a fan could still enjoy it but this movie is so full of fan service that it will have you smiling the wholeAn absolute BLAST!

The voice acting I was skeptical but they all work and work well too. Jack Black is the star here. I love how they kept the story simple like all of the games. Truly felt like a video game on screen. This movie felt like a beautifully animated amusement park ride. The audio in the movie was amazing too. The sounds and the score with reimagined iconic music was perfect. Some of the songs in the movie felt unnecessary but they worked. I think they should've bumped the run time to 105-120 min. 90 min felt too short as it goes by quick. I havent had this m… Expand

Amazing movie. I just don't get the critics at all anymore. Most of the movies they've frowned on I've enjoyed, and the movies they raved about were terrible! Nintendos second try at an adaptation of one of their beloved game series, (Well at least up until super mario bros Wii, the series went a bit down hill from then) and is it good (unlike the original 1996 adaptation which was abysmal)? Hell yeah. Nobody cares what the critics have to say as they're notorious for their sh*tty reviews.
The animation is probably the best to come out of illumination, the amount of Easter eggs (such as anti-gravity from Mario kart 8 and rainbow road, music Easter eggs such as the music from the gusty garden galaxy in super mario galaxy and the secret levels in the 3D mario games and tons more, heck the cat suit even made an appearance!) in it was incredible and the story itself was a masterpiece. It's so good that they didn't go the safe ruit and just do the usual Princess Peach gets kidnapped by bowser and Mario goes to save her, as that plot line is unfortunately overused in the Mario series and the film probably would have been bad if they did go with that kinda plot. This film was very funny and Chris Pratt did a great job voicing Mario. It's certainly better than the first Sonic the hedgehog movie, but in my opinion, it's not as good as Sonic the hedgehog 2.
Fantastic film, can't wait for what in store for the future.… Expand

This movie was seriously everything I expected. For the faults it has with a mediocre plot, it makes it up fully and more with the incredible visuals, soundtrack (!!!), and incredibly fleshed out world with easter eggs all over the place. Seriously, if you have played a Mario game in the past, I think you will find it very difficult to dislike this movie. The voices (including Pratt surprisingly) were all spot on, it was the perfect length, had a perfect pace, and hit theI loved it. This is definitely NOT a generic hollywood spin-off, no matter what you might see people say. It gives us much more story than any of the games, and it surprises me how natural it was to see the characters fully voiced; I legitimately think this movie could be a standalone entry in the Mario series. Illumination Paris also did an incredible job animating it, and it's graphics are top-notch. The critics, as usual, are completely disconnected and really don't know what they're talking about. Look at the user score, and no, it's not just people who like Mario or who are being nostalgic. This is the best animated film of the last few years.… Expand

Nintendo has put their heart and soul into the Mario series, and this movie is simply a love letter to Nintendo and Mario fans across the globe. While someone who is not a big fan of the Mario series will not get a big chunk of the references, a true Mario fanatic (such as myself), well get them. From the Giant Eels from Super Mario 64, to the Sand Kingdom from Odyssey, and even the DK Rap, this movie is filled to the brim with sneaky Mario references. The story, while somewhat simple, works well for Mario, as the storyline of most Mario games is somewhat simple. While Chris Pratt was not the best choice, he did a serviceable job as our red plumber. Charlie Day, Seth Rogan, and Jack Black steal the show here with their performances as Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Bowser respectfully. The finale of the movie is amazing, and the music is stellar. Honestly this movie is one of my childhood fantasies come true. Growing up with the 1993 Super Mario Movie, this movie comes back to the roots of what makes a good movie. Filled to the brim with fan service, this is a must watch for everyone

An absolutely incredible movie for anyone who loves the world of the Mushroom Kingdom. Sublime visuals, majestic music, incredible staging, in short we are entertained every second of the film and our only regret is that it does not last long enough

It's very good, Full of references to the original games, these are Mario kart, Super Smash Bros, Mario Odyssey and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Dieser Film ist für jeden Nintendo Fan und Familie ein muss.
Es hat sehr gute Animation und viele Anspielung auf die Spieleserie. Die Musik ist mega gut gelungen und immerwieder kleine Gecks sind vorhanden

It's a family good time. Way better than the last movie from the 1990s going to see it for the 3rd time. So many Easter eggs. 2 end credit scenes so don't leave until the lights come on and the screen is off

What a movie!! It’s enjoyable for anyone, fan or not, probably the best adaptation of a game to a movie, very glad with Nintendo that made this masterpiece, I fully recommend it.

It's an excellent movie, the animation is undoubtedly beautiful and the world they have created is simply fantastic. I really liked the additions of characters and some extra details that are not part of the video games. I really liked the additions of characters and some extra details that are not part of the video games. I thought there would be many jokes or comedic situations, but in the end, I think they have found an appropriate balance. The music is undoubtedly beautiful, with a variety of musical references from the first NES game to the latest Odyssey. There are several licensed music themes that are great, although quite unexpected for me, it felt a bit strange, but overall, it's very good. I loved the voice acting, and honestly, I don't think you can ask for anything better. Bowser and Peach are probably the best.

As for the story, what can I say? Did anyone really expect anything more? It's very simple, and that's it, like any Mario game in general. In my opinion, it perfectly fulfills its purpose, although I think the duration of the movie is a bit short. I would have appreciated a few more scenes before the end.

If you like Super Mario or have played any of its games, you will surely love this movie. It perfectly captures the essence of the franchise without taking too many risks but delivering what a fan wants to see. And if you haven't played any of the games, I recommend giving it a chance because I consider the work done on this project to be, at the very least, noteworthy and well done.… Expand

This movie is literally OP as hell, the movie is so funny and awesome. It is better than the 1993 film which failed, but here are some positive highlights I made:

1. The Humor is really good, I can tell that Nintendo and Illumination put all of this work into this.
2. Animation and CGi is really impressive, the character models look great also.
3. The cast including Chris Pratt and Jack Black are funny especially the latter who sang “Peaches” which is a great song.
4. This is just critic’s opinion that they hated the amount of easter eggs, but it will make fans of the Mario series remember what they saw.
Bonus: At the end, I showed my father to stay to watch the post-credit scene and when he heard the word “YOSHI!” He laughed about it because he likes Yoshi.
Although I am mad that Wario and Waluigi did not appear in the film, it was an awesome night and probably that biggest movie night I had because my friends, their parents, their grandmother, my parents, my younger sister, my older sister, and her boyfriend. It was OP… Expand

Al entrar a esta película tenía muchos tipos de enfermedades terminales: Cáncer, Sida, Sífilis, Coronavirus, Disenteria, y muchas hemorragias internas así como partes muertas. Al observar los aproximadamente primeros 2.73 segundos de la película, tuve una bendición divina que retiro todas mis enfermedades, nunca me he sentido mejor en toda mi existencia completa. Decir que esta película es una carta de amor al cine sería un insulto, puesto que la estaría comparando con otras cintas mortales del último siglo. No hay palabras para describir la bellísima y deslumbrante pieza audiovisual que acabo de presenciar. Simplemente una obra maestra por parte de Nintendo, definitivamente valió la pena extorsionar a muerte a todos y cada uno de los trabajadores en Illumination, hicieron un trabajo impecable. Si mi cerebro tuviese más capacidad, crearía nuevos números para expresar la magnitud de belleza que contemplé el dia de hoy, sin embargo, probablemente ningún número o valor podría se le podría comparar. Probablemente termine con mi vida dentro unas horas, puesto que sé que en ningún momento de mi miserable existencia obtendré una cantidad tan incomparable de dopamina. Si la película tuviera una v**ga, probablemente encontraría una manera de copiar su adn, duplicarlo e inyectar más dentro de ella, para después proceder a chuparselas. Simplemente lo mejor que ha creado y creará la humanidad en su miserable existencia.… Expand

Las voces en ingles son maravillosas, en especial bjack black y su piano.
