Great animation movie, technically impressive, great action, colorful and funny. As a Mario fan I could not ask more. The story is meh, but I certainty did not go to watch it for the story as I knew that wouldn't be a meaningful one.

As a long-time-fan of anything Mario, I greatly enjoyed everything I saw. Even the little cringy parts.
This doesn't really deserve a 10/10 but for the sake of underlining how amazing this movie is in comparison to everything else these days, I'll gladly give it just that.

Watch it if you love Mario - or are sick and tired of Hollywoke and just want to be entertained. This movie entertains, nothing more, just how it should be.… Expand

Don't listen to the increasingly estranged from reality 'Critics' - this movie is great fun, if you have had any enjoyment interacting with Mario over the last 40 years you will enjoy this film regardless of age.

This move felt like a beautiful love letter to Mario fans. The amount of references it has is outstanding, the soundtrack is just beautiful and it sticks to its roots, unlike many other movies that rather go for popular horrible rap or popThis move felt like a beautiful love letter to Mario fans. The amount of references it has is outstanding, the soundtrack is just beautiful and it sticks to its roots, unlike many other movies that rather go for popular horrible rap or pop songs and things like that, no. The Mario movie is beautifully and almost fully orchestrated with songs and sounds you'll be recognizing all over as well as new ones. The animation is also amazing and super fluid, the amount of characters is outstanding, and the voices sound great. At first I was hesitant about Chris Pratt as Mario but after watching the movie I'm glad to say he did an amazing job, but my favorite voice has to be Bowser, Jack Black did an outstanding job and he really gave life to the character. The story is always surprisingly well thought, it's already hard enough to translate years and years of Mario games into a single movie but the really outdone themselves. Not say that the story is overly emotional but that's a god thing. It feels like a nice change of pace from modern cinema with it's quick pace and charming story.

I could talk about this movie all day but I got some Mario games to play after watching it. It deserves a 10/10. Go watch it if you haven't!… Expand

I personally highly recommend this film. I'm glad that this film doesn't follow the disastrous woke trend, but sticking on the original setting of game characters and game world. I watch it with my family, and we have lots of fun time.

Princess Peach really stands out for what she really is, a strong leader. While many are used seeing her as someone who needs to be rescued, she shows the other side of her that is heavily represented in a lot of underrated Mario games; A powerful strong woman. Bowser's song gets stuck in your head and Lumalee made the crowd laugh. Can't wait to see it again! PS, loved Pauline but wish Rosalina appeared as well.… Expand

This movie is perfect, PERFECT. The movie is the best adaptation video game based I ever see since Mortal Kombat (1995). The movie overall is super accurate to the Super Mario Bros. Universe. I have to give it a 10 because it’s LITERALLY impossible to do a video game movie adaptation better than this. It’s impeccable for what it is. I dunno what those who criticise the story expected. Que bom foi assistir um filme divertido, com personagens bem desenvolvidos, e voces não precisaram forçar um drama, ou obrigar adorar uma etnia, e nem obrigar o publico a tatuar a sigla lgbt. Parabens, voces superaram toda a Pixar (Disney) e a Dreamworks. Como filme adaptado ao jogo, segundo por segundo eu ficava comparando ao jogo. Fidelidade incrivel. A Princesa Peach e a melhor personagem, ficou uma Princesa linda como nos jogos, legal ter adicionado ela com golpes de artes marciais, e ela fazendo speedrun no filme ficou otimo. Detalhe da Peach dormindo de cansaço, me lembrou da cena do Super Mario 64. Mario ficou um bom heroi como nos jogos, o Luigi no pouco espaço que teve tambem ficou bom, o Toad piadista e um bom personagem pra balancear o filme, o Bowser tocando piano foi a melhor cena dele, o kamek tambem ficou fiel aos jogos, os penguins guerreiros e comico, o Donkey Kong frenetico ficou parecido aos jogos, Lumalee tambem ficou um personagem adoravel, e foi muito bom ver o Diddy e Dixie. Foi legal escutar as classicas musicas dos jogos no filme. Por mim esse filme levaria o Oscar de melhor animação, melhor direção, melhor roteiro adaptado e canção original.
Pontos negativos. Durante o filme, quando as musicas do Konji Kondo terminava, eu pensava "podia durar mais segundos". Não gostei de musicas famosas no filme, (AC/DC Take on Me) odiei. Tantos jogos do Mario, repletas de musicas incriveis, e voces colocam musicas de banda. E como a Princesa Peach e a melhor personagem, acho que ficou faltando mais cenas dela. E me acostumei tanto ver a Peach beijando o Mario apos ser salva, que esperei isso no final do filme.

Saw it 7 times in the theatre and loved it everytime! Gotta love Chris Pratt and his performance. His cameo song Electric Light Orchestra- Mr. Blue Sky (from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 which he starred in also) at the end of The SuperSaw it 7 times in the theatre and loved it everytime! Me and the kids loved it. Brought back some good mario nostalgic memories of playing mario and what I imagined the world was in my head. Maybe could have chose a couple of different voice actors but they did okay.

It feels like they took the best of Mario over the years, smooshed it all into a giant ball of happiness. They did a truly excellent job of making me feel like I was in the Super Mario universe. It's rare that I find a movie that I'd rewatch these days but I'll be coming back to this one many times.

They need to make this into a game. BoTW/Totk but for Mario. Lands where you platform. Lands where you can battle gorillas. Lands where you can race. No really, Nintendo, if you're listening, do it.… Expand
