It always bothers me that people take their babies to see the movies because then they start crying because of the high volume of the movie, luckily there were none in the theater I went to and I was able to enjoy this wonder without interruptions.

I liked the romantic angle on the movie which marvel movies rarely have, and also sersi wasn't shown as the damsel in distress as the female lead love interest, that made me like her even more. The acting was great because it made me want to punch ikaris in the gut and I loved dane Whitman, he was really cute, also the post credit scene with harry styles was unexpected but still good, over all I loved it, great movie, already rewatched it twice and would absolutely rewatch it again.… Expand

Eternals is indeed a very experimental film, easily the most unique movie in the MCU and consequently one of the most polarizing. The reason being that the movie breaks off significantly from the successfully established formula ofEternals is indeed a very experimental film, easily the most unique movie in the MCU and consequently one of the most polarizing. The reason being that the movie breaks off significantly from the successfully established formula of practically every Marvel movie since Iron Man 1. Firstly, the movie looks beautiful (with the exception of a certain small CGI scene) all throughout and the action scenes are out of this place. The choreography is not as on-point as let's say Shang Chi but the abilities are used very creatively. The battles look great and felt very intense (something that came off as very refreshing) The best thing about the movie is that it feels very complete with the insane amount of content it brings. It has backstories, character development, plot twists, great action sequences (forest part, final battle) and the romances are very well done and NOT forced. Everything about the movie feels very natural and genuine, especially the music. Also the comedy is for once, actually good enough to keep it balanced since the nature of the film leans quite on the darker side. Also Gilgamesh and Ikaris completely stole the movie IMO. Finally, while the special effects didn't break any new ground, they still felt very brutal throughout the movie. All in all, the movie isn't a 10 but more like a 9.5. It's definitively in my top 5 of the MCU along with Infinity War, The Winter Soldier, Far From Home and Iron Man 1.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie isn't a typical MCU that relies on large action scenes to tell a story. And, even as a hard-core MCU fan, I loved every minute of it. It doesn't involve a villain who has a master plan to take over the world. It's about a group of people mislead to believe in their mission is for good, when it's actually putting innocent lives in danger. It is a story of real risks and complex factors. Do the Eternals do what they were made to do and in turn give life to countless more planets and civilizations, or is Earth worth preserving? The only downside of the plot is the fact of the MCU exists in the first place. Because of the billions of dollars spent to build the MCU, the outcome of the film is very predictable. Despite this, the film is filled with real emotions that you can feel between each character. You can feel the internal conflict each one faces. And because of this, this film should not be evaluated as a MCU element, but a stand alone film with implications that effect the Cinematic Universe as a whole.… Expand

Excellent movie. Great fight scenes and new characters. I enjoy the way it tells the story (flashbacks as in The Witcher books every 30 minutes or so) and the universe lore is pretty interesting. First of all, before the movie was released, it made a name for itself with the low scores it received in Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. The reason for this was the scores and comments made by the audience at the galas. I think this situation has caused a prejudice for those who haven't watched it yet. However, there was one thing to remember Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao was in charge of it, and she should be respected. Maybe the fact that it is a movie outside of the usual films of MCU -which is actually not too far away- disturbed the audience or we can say that it affected them differently. The difference from the MCU was that Chloé Zhao showed a lot of her own style.

However, I believe that the effect of this is positive, not negative, and I recommend that those who make cruel comments watch the movie once again.

Green boxes or green rooms were not used during the shooting of the film, shootings were made in various places around the world with a very pleasant view. This, in my opinion, elevates the movie above a normal superhero movie and even puts it on the Oscar radar.

When you think of Chloé Zhao, cinematography come to mind. The cinematography in this film is also very succesful, and we should congratulate the cinematographer Ben Davis on this issue. In the scenes where there is no action, it draws the audience in and flows.

Besides, I can say without exeggeration; The best CGI I've ever seen in my life was in this movie. They even raise the bar so high that I think it's hard to come close to this movie in CGI success. There is also a lot of emphasis on the fight scenes. In many movies, fight scenes are skipped by shaking the camera here and there, zooming in and out, or with simple movements, but in this movie, we experience the fights to the fullest in front of us.

If we need to talk about the sound and music of the film, it can be said that it is a masterpiece. Their music is signed by Ramin Djawadi, whom we know from Game of Thrones, Westworld and Iron Man.

When I saw Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek in the trailer, it didn't seem natural enough to me, the fact that they were too big names made them look fake, but when I watched the movie, I thought it was the opposite. A very large cats in terms of names, meets the expectation, there is more than what we saw in the trailer in terms of humor and it's not overdone.

We are watching a different movie and we are not breaking away from MCU, the balance is very well established. We have to thank Chloé Zhao for this great movie...… Expand

B+ grade (Shang Chi A-. Thor 2 is a D just to establish some critic credibility. Age of Ultron was weak too, by the way).… Expand

I thought it was very good. Based on the reviews I expected much worse. Characters were good, acting was solid. The plot was pretty wild, but that is to be expected. Good action and special effects. Very enjoyable watch.

I'm really glad i went to see it, because it turned out to be one of the best superhero films i have seen till this day (and i've seen them all, and i mean, all) - i would have compare it to Logan. It shows how large difference the actual director makes - the story is told with care and patience, the characters are played beautifly, the plot surprises are presented gracious, far from "we have a plot twist!" usual marvel attitude - i actually cared for the main characters, which is something i havent felt on marvel movies for quite a long time. Highly recommend.… Expand

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie, it was a welcome breath of fresh air and a new vibe for the MCU that I am very much on board with. Great story, great performances, have already watched three times, would watch again, hope there is a follow up!!!

I love this new family of characters and I found their relationships and personal dilemmas that they faced to be believable therefore fight scenes became more enjoyable since the stakes were high. Fights in this film are extremely dynamic and it's a lot of fun to watch. The only issue that I have is with comedy. Marvel films are known for belittling the drama by making fun of sad moments. Some people like it and some don't. I'd prefer to not have the drama ruining jokes that feel forced. It doesn't happen as often as in many other MCU which is nice. I find that these jokes are mostly funny but the price for them is too high. Also, Ramin Djawadi's score could be my most favorite of all Marvel films. It embodies heroism on a literal god level. Overall, I love Eternals and I hope to see more of them with Chloé Zhao returning to direct.… Expand

Eternals is a beautiful movie with heart and in 2 hours and 30 minutes does a better job of expanding on lore and setting up bigger things than unfortunately ZSJL did in a 4 hours (Still great, a 8/10 for me). This movie is the perfect length, it has jawdropping action, great comedy, and even twists that no one could have expected from the trailers. Chloe Zhao in my opinion is worthy to continue this series and has truly shined once again with such a heavy task on her Director plate. The Eternals themselves are layered and have their own desires and needs themselves and you will appreciate them all in their own way and feel you've taken a journey with them, the audience I was with seemed to enjoy every bit of it. The dialogue around this movie has been vile, especially by certain YouTube channels I will not mention but rest assured, the diversity here is not in your face and no one is here for "representation" sake. I cannot wait to see it again soon, it really blew me away and I left with the smile that I tend to always have walking out of a Marvel movie.. isn't that what its about?… Expand

Heading in a different direction from what we have seen previously, Eternals brings the MCU into a new realm of story-telling that breaks away from the typical Marvel formula. A standout aspect of this film is truly its diversity with Chloé Zhao and the rest of the team behind this film truly pulling together a truly beautiful and diverse narrative which speaks to the heart moreso than it does the mind. After years of formulaic movies, Eternals takes the MCU in a new, more mature direction and it is refreshing to see. Chloé Zhao definitely succeeded in bringing a fresh perspective into the MCU diverging from a story that is driven purely by the action and thrill of it all, to give us a story that has heart and love behind every aspect. As expected, this film was a visual masterpiece, where everything that we see manages to work alongside the story being told. The acting was amazing with Gemma Chan truly standing out and capturing the heartfelt essence that is driven by this film. Also, just to mention Angelina, a growing favourite of mine, who truly took the helm in each and every one of her scenes, bringing to life this strong and powerful warrior. The story itself definitely meets what it set out to achieve, however, it is also the key downfall point of the movie. Though it carries a lot of weight, the aspect where the movie fails is where they tried to incorporate maybe a bit too much story without truly figuring out how to go about making it fit into one cohesive puzzle. Overall, it was still an incredible watch and I cannot wait to watch it again. I would definitely go about saying that it makes it into my personal top 10 favourite Marvel movies!… Expand

I was so hyped for Eternals and I have to say Marvel just did it again but something different this time with director Chloe Zhao.
