This movie is fine. It offers the usual marvel stuff and more multiverse shenanigans. But ultimately doesn't offer anything new or move the story or characters forward in a meaningful manner.

It's fine to skip this one.

Entertaining, better than the first one but too much points that are WTF, like the fight between Wanda and the Illuminati, the freaking horrible cgi for Strange's third eye and his character development completely **** up.
Before he was so cold blooded for order that said "I will not hesitate to get you and your kid killed if that is necessary to protect the time stone"...and now:

Wanda: "can I have that girl that you don't even know and can't even relate cause you don't have chidren so I can get the **** away from this universe and I won't be a mass murdering trouble?"

Strange: "ahah no"

Seems logic, ah yeah and there's even that scene of America and Strange like:

America: "I can't control my powers!"
Strange: "no you can"
America: "ah ok"
"proceed to beat Wanda that was invincible for the 99,9% of the movie.

Ah yes and Strange is completely USELESS for all the movie.

You can tell his heart was in it but that just wasn't enough to keep me engaged. Convoluted storyline with poorly introduced and defined characters mixed in with a bad teen actor, as well as an overbearing score with every song sounding exactly the same. Cumberbatch performs well as strange, though his performance is largely overshadowed by Elizabeth Olsen who probably gives on of the best performances out of any film in the MCU so far. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The movie was well interesting, to say the least.
1. Firstly Strange arc was pretty damn weird in the movie to what his arc was shown in avengers first dr strange and nwh tbh. 2. Wanda's situation is similar to Strange's. We understand that she is evil because the Darkhold has corrupted her, but we don't understand why she decided to use the book or if she knew the consequences of doing so. If she knew it would corrupt her, why did she do it? And so on there are a lot of answered questions. And goes contrary to what she learned in Wandavision
3. Next American Chavez was too interesting. There wasn't much character to her and we did not get who she is and what motivates her the movie is just 126 min and am sure they could have added another 5-10 min to explain her character in much more detail.
4. The direction of the movie too was meh tbh and story was more or less flat.
5.The movie was hyped way too much, a lot was shown in the trailers there was just too much hype and the movie failed to reach the hype

Anyway that's my opinion enjoy the movie and have your own opinion :)

The addition of Raimi-signature sequences that break the current mood (despair, excitement, happiness) really did break the cohesion of the movie, and did not serve the movie well. Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen and the rest of the cast did a really good job trying to elevate the movie, but the over-all sloppy direction, and mixed bag with outside-of-the-MCU-formula approach did little to make an enjoyable sequel to the well-received origin of Dr. Strange. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may rely too much on the madness. The movie felt as though it could not decide on it's tone and by no means felt like a sequel to the first Doctor Strange movie tonal wise. Wanda's motivation is written off as just "The Darkhold" and feels cheap after spending nearly 10 years with the character. For a movie that was supposed to have such emotional weight I unfortunately did not feel much. As for the positives the visuals and action pieces were fun. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. That was a surprisingly mediocre Marvel Movie. My brother whispered the plot of "WandaVision" to me during the movie, so that I could understand it. I really hate that we now have to have a Dinsney+ account to follow the Marvel Movies. That is a really greedy move, and if that continues, I'll be very pissed. The pacing felt really off. The first half was way too fast, Wanda as a villain felt really odd. The plot, America and Wanda's evilness all came out of nowhere. Wanda was a good villain because she was a horrifying threat, but her motivation felt so half-assed. And do Americans not feel stupid when they create a character that is called "America" and shoots stars?!
The fights were good though. Especially the one with music notes (you'll know after you watched). And I liked the Illuminati, but a lot of viewers don't even know Black Bolt.
The film really felt weird compared to other Marvel movies. I would not recommend it.

The reveal that Wanda was the villian in the plot was lackluster and confusing since I didn’t watch WandaVision on Disney+ and her motivations made no sense. She wanted to be with her imaginary children that existed in a different universe?? Not to mention the amount of inconsistencies of character’s actions; very disappointed but not surprised since Marvel is declining when it comes to quality nowadays Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Third scene, the fight with the giant octo-squid, and the latina aka America Chavez hasn't a scratch out of it, and she's just brimming with entitled confidence. And later when Strange says "America doesn't have long" (when she's in peril) you can't help but notice the double entendre. Then there's this whole magni-terrible Scarlet Witch who's really just a sweet mom at heart so we're being schooled that even the most terrible person in the multiverse has the heart of a mom. It seems very kid-friendly Disney in its pollyannish optimism in the face of dire circumstances. The whole tunnel chase scene doesn't make sense given the magical power in play here. And there was a fair amount of magical book burning/destruction so is that book-industry messaging? Finally, how's it take three different attempts by the SW to drain America of her power - oh wow, is that a China draining America of its global power metaphor?! - over such a long period that provides enough time for Dr Strange to intervene. And these drainings apparently aren't cumulative which doesn't make sense. It's just so blatantly the-story-must-permit-the-good-guys-to-win regardless of plausibility. I'm sure if you're ages 10-15 you'll think this is just the best movie ever, but for the rest of humanity it's just CGI silliness. Tagline: I watched Multiverse of Madness and feel qualified as a family crisis counselor now. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Should’ve called it ‘The Wanda Movie’ or ‘Scarlett Witch The Movie’ as this was dominated by her. As usual, Disney knocks the main character (as long as it’s a male non-pov character) for woke points. But I’m focused on the issues with this movie. Firstly, it wiped out WandaVision in many ways. Secondly, it has and creates many plot holes. The only thing that is good here is how amazing the VFX looks in the movie. Saw it in IMAX & it is a beautiful movie. I wish it was more like the first with a singular plot. This seems to have 3 plots and then the usual tie-ins for other Marvel movies thrown in everywhere. I gave the first movie a 9. This just wasn’t as good at all. Expand

Sadly most of what we get is a woke agenda insert main maguffin character literally called America born in a universe where apparently two women can convieve a child. Her stuff dragged it down to a 4/10 for me.
After making my way through Wanda vision and so many other marvel films with Dr strange playing a lead supporting role, this felt like a missed opportunity to not just tell a great story but a timeless one. It's so sad that super hero movies have to have gender politics inserted into them to adhere to woke Hollywood. I can't wait for this age to come to an end.

The second installment in the “Doctor Strange”While I don’t completely agree with Martin Scorsese’s contention that Marvel movies aren’t cinema, the studios’ latest offering could arguably add fuel to the fire supporting that viewpoint. The second installment in the “Doctor Strange” series is, quite honestly, a hot mess in so many regards, a major disappointment from its predecessor and a movie in which it’s easy to lose interest. With a storyline that requires viewers to possess considerable foreknowledge of the characters and numerous narrative elements, a number of plot elements that go unresolved, and the inclusion of developments that grow progressively sillier with each passing frame, director Sam Raimi’s latest becomes increasingly boring, ridiculous and disjointed the further one gets into it. What I find most insulting, however, is the shameless way this offering has been employed more as a jumping off point for other upcoming vehicles in the Marvel Universe than as a standalone work of its own, a lynchpin in the perpetuation of this continuing body of work that amounts to little more than a vehicle for promoting future Marvel moviegoing experiences. Despite the film’s fine cinematography and art direction and a few choice moments of comic relief, I gave up on this one without a half hour left. Except for diehard comic book nerds, who will undoubtedly love this no matter what, most other viewers could save themselves a lot of time and tedium by not waiting as long as I did to bail by just skipping this one entirely. Enough that it truly shocked my wife and I. The plot jumped so much that it was hard to invest any emotion into the story and characters after all that we already knew about them. It was obvious they thought new hero Amerika Chavez would carry the movie and take the mantle, but this was not so. She came off as more of a bratty teenager who barely even seemed to belong in this universe until the very end. Long time comic fans will not buy into her forced sense of inclusion. A new team is introduce, and basically discarded shortly after they are introduced. Why do that? Didn't even try to build on any of their characters. Also, this movie presented a great opportunity to introduce a new super villain. Sadly, there wasn't one. The entire movie just seemed very cardboard cutout -ish, and lacked the polish we've come to expect from Marvel and Disney movies. It seemed rushed and thrown together with the simple goal of being a quick cash grab. Definitely a step backwards in my view. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall a disappointment. There's definitly some things to like, like adventuring through the multi verse, and Dr Strange is as charming as ever. The visuals are amazing, and it's cool to see some of the crossovers that the multi verse allows for. I really liked the advanced tech world that they showed off. But then, there are many more negative things that just destroy suspension of disbelief, so many bog standard writing cliches. For starters, the intro pulled the old, "omg, high steaks intro, lol no just a dream" cliche. Sometimes characters are stupid for no reason as part of the painfully telegraphed "horror" moments. In one scene Dr Strange and co. are running from Wanda, who is destroying blast doors 2 meters behind them, but they all stop for no reason after closing a bigger door. And it holds in silence on them just standing there doing nothing for 20 seconds. Then Wanda reappears, and they keep running. There are times when the movie tries to fake out a horrible monster right around the corner, but they try way too hard such that all fakeouts are very obvious. The movie also struggles with power creep. Wanda is plain and simple OP. However, she only uses many of her OP abilities one time and then never again for some reason. She can create entire illusory worlds around people. She can snap peoples necks remotely. She can easily make peoples mouths, and presumably noses, disappear. She can charm weak minded people. She can summon giant lovcraftian monsters to great effect. She can appear as a giant demon monster. However, she only used each of these once, and never again, except for the monsters, which she used twice in the beginning and never again. In most of her battles, she still defaults to pew pew laser bolt hands or occasionally remotely tossing people. And the ending is kinda bad. The whole movie we are told the evil book corrupts whoever uses it, but then Strange does and is fine, save a third eye. Strange at one point is losing to a mass of spirits, but then a side character reminds him that he's got magic, as if he forgot, but then he suddenly wins. The "character growth" is spoiled from the beginning of the film, so there's no real payoff. And OP Scarlet Witch is defeated by a small girl walking up and pushing Wanda through a portal, and Wanda does basically nothing to stop it. Expand

Kudos for making Captain Marvel even more annoying than Brie Lawson's. I didn't think that was possible. Good news is she gets killed, lol. All hail the Scarlet Witch! She's my new favorite Marvel superhero. So 0 for the Dr. Strange movie, but it's balanced by an 8 for the Scarlet Witch movie.

Rest of the movie was lame. I still don't know who the Hispanic chick is and why is she named America? Or who Rachel McAdams was playing.

Do they explain why everyone has a cancre? I honestly don't know if i'll finish it.

Oh and Jim Fantastic = mom's spaghetti, lol!

The film is very well directed and has really good scenes, but the script is very poor, full of conveniences, very expository and both the America's arc and Wanda's redemption arc are terrible. Horrible third act and cameos are only there to tell the fans "here's what you wanted, now that's enough". It had enormous potential, but for me, it was below what it could have been. Expand

There is little to none to enjoy in this movie if you don't like Wanda's character or Rami's directorial style. I was interested in Doctor Strange's character / story / growth and the "madness of the multiverse" - both of which were not present in a movie that should have been about them.
Yes, one could argue, that there was the "he has to be the one in charge" and the lesson was he "needs to let go of the knife" but it fell flat as it was repeated and not really shown how he learned it.

This one was just so... meh. the overall theme of this is Doctor Strange in every other multiverse is a horrible person. So just about every one from different universes is trying to kill or stop Doctor Strange. The movie opens up interesting with Shuma Gorath showing up unfortunately hes completely wasted and is killed so there goes a waste of a good villain right at the start. way to screw that up Disney. Than we have American Chaves the crappy hero no one likes and her comic sucks so bad no one buys it. I'll give the actress credit here she wasnt bad at least and they didn't make her a unsufferable douche like she is in her comics. Overall plot is trying to stop Wanda from getting Chaves because her power makes it so you can jump across multiverses... oh yeah and Wanda is now evil for some reason. Why you ask? hell if i know. apparently Disney in all of its stupidity made it so if you didnt watch the TV show (which i didnt) you will have no clue WTF is going on here. So if you didn't watch the Wanda show you are going to be as confuses as hell on why Wanda is now evil. Pretty much ruined the movie for me since im just scratching my head to why Wanda is all evil now and insanely over powered. This has to be the dumbest idea ever for a lead into a movie
I'm also scratching my head as to how i made it to the end of this turd.
MCU has taken a massive nose dive into the ground not to mention how many of these movies have we had already? 20?25?30?
im rapidly losing interest in this franchise like a lot of people are looking at how badly these movies are doing.
Pretty much right after end game they have completely screwed everything up.
Ire Disney will just run this into the ground and ruin it like they do everything else these days.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Here's how absurd the plot of this movie is. Wanda is so desperate to find her kids that she knows she never had to begin with, that she's willing to kill and steal the powers of a teenager that can punch star-shaped holes in the fabric of reality, so she can find her kids and take her alternate reality version's place as their mother.

So, why not work with America to help her control her powers first and then find a reality where Wanda had died and the boys were orphans and then offer to either take over as their mother there or bring them to our universe and take care of them here?

"Oh, but she's distraught and using an evil book!" She was in control of herself for some time before the movie started, but now the movie started, so hur-dur, let's make her the villain. Also, dear lord, they turned Wanda into an unstoppable killing machine beyond anything and everything that has come before. Nothing could stop her, and this movie goes beyond to hammer home how powerful she was. The entirety of Kamar-Taj: Dead
Wong Sorcerer Supreme: Beaten like it was nothing
Captain Marvel: Dead
Captain Cartner: Dead
Black Bolt: Dead (by killing himself, lol)
Jim from the Office cosplaying as Mister Fantastic: Dead
Professor X from the 90's cartoon: Dead and went out like a ****

And then there's Doctor Strange, whose power is either very strong or completely worthless and Marvel is banking on the viewer just turning off your brain the right amount to ignore these easily noticed things.

This movie should have been named "Doctor Strange and The Jumping of the Shark" because it was. Whatever you loved about the MCU is gone now. All the worldwide risk and danger we lived through in the last decade or so--Pointless. The scale they just brought the threats to have made everything that came before trivial. Even Moon Knight with literal gods fighting each other is pointless. This was the movie that broke on the MCU. I am done with them. The direction they are taking is just not my thing, and I'm not sticking around for it.

P.S: Hey, so now that Wanda yeeted herself at the end, what happens with Vision, hmm? Did y'all forget there's a version of him that survived at the end of Wandavsion? Any reason for that to move on with?

Michael Bay like endless action and explosion with terribly written and executed Raimi evil dead humor injected. If anyone thought the b movie schlock constituted horror elements they must be incredibly delicate. I actually think Bay would have made this better because the dumb bits would just be more mind numbing explosions, that would be less offensive. The character's never stay in one place long enough to tell a story, they just spout nonsense and the next action scene happens. We sit for 2hours and don't even get a satisfying ending, just another wet fart in a movie full of them.

God, rarely have I found myself so bored at the theater.

For a film franchise that has sometimes been criticized for feeling more like television, never has a Marvel film felt it to this degree before. The whole thing feels like a middling episode of a Sci-Fi Channel Original Series with just exposition piled upon exposition piled on exposition. There is little here resembling any kind of emotional storytelling or humanity, just borderline incomprehensible plot threads to set up other Marvel movies. If you like soy banter instead of anything resembling character development then this is the movie for you.

If you were hoping that Sam Raimi, arguably the best filmmaker to ever work in this franchise, could bring his identity to the Marvel machine, I regret to inform you that the scoreboard reads “Disney 1, Raimi 0”. Sure, there’s some of Raimi’s dutch angles and signature dolly zooms here to remind you he’s still involved but that’s about where it ends. (Ok, actually there is one very funny Bruce Campbell cameo, the only genuine laugh in the film)

Even the much teased Marvel cameos, that now seem like the new direction for this franchise, completely fall flat as it serves little purpose beyond waving a bright shiny new toy in front of your face.

Somehow even worse than I thought it’d be, terrible start to summer movie season

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've not been more disappointed in a Marvel movie as with Dr. Strange part 2. This film is going to be proof in film schools for the next decade that you can take a great group of actors, (Minus one major character) and a good director, just to waste all of their time with poor quality writing. As for the character of America Chavez, I'm not sure if it was the writing, directing, or acting but the character was horrendous. The idea was so poorly carried out that she dragged down every scene that she was in. It wasn't that the concept was the problem, but how it was portrayed at every step was laughably insulting. This film couldn't even remain consistent with the last major Marvel movie, let alone provide any sort of logical consistence. Wanda is not a sympathetic villain, she is psychotic and the writers have a strange infatuation with her that continues since Wandavision. Dr. Strange was written to be extremely intelligent and analytical in his prior film, where his arrogance was off putting but something that the character could get away with. Now he just comes off as simply foolish. They make Wong look incompetent and little more than a joke. The cameos were all rubbish and did little more than to make establish characters look stupid. They were trying to make Wanda look like a huge threat, but to me it came off as these supposedly great heroes were all jack asses. This could have been a great movie. They had very talented actors and a great idea, along with a director that could have pulled it off. However the writing was so piss poor that it was bungled at the corporate level. The director had touches that showed through and created some fantastic visuals. It's the reason that this film made it a 3 on my scale. But he was so held back by Disney that it was a waste of his talent. I wonder if there is a Sam Raimi cut?

This movie could have been great. The cast was almost perfect, and with a different actor for America C. and writers that had the skill and freedom to create a compelling script it could have been a home run. Instead we get a lack luster film with actors that do their best to shovel garbage while a kid without enthusiasm or an idea of how to help just gets in their way. This is directed by a guy that has his hands tied behind his back by corporate with one eye blindfolded. All of whom are shackled to a script from a writers room staffed with people lacking the interest to remember major plot details from the last film in the franchise, and missing the life experience and skill to make a compelling narrative outside of an instruction manual for a toaster. And a host of details from major plot points down to the catering from lunch are likely being dictated by Disney board rooms. The Marvel franchise has a huge problem, no matter how much money is thrown at something you cannot make it good. You NEED writers that care enough about it that they remember the major plot points from the prior movies! They need to remain internally consistent during the current iteration of your 'multiverse' narrative. If they cannot do that then they lack the drive to create compelling stories filled with interesting characters. This isn't just from a single problem. Are there signs of to much corporate control over the creators? Yes there is. Are there signs that the writers lack the life experience to incorporate plot points in complex and subtle ways? Definitely! This movie threw a lot at you and then used the tired old 'subvert expectations' excuse when the story lines just didn't stick.

The characters' actions range from inconsistent from what was established in prior films to outright illogical or flat-out inane (the Gigantos sequence was dense with stupid). It's been said numerous times - MCU productions have fallen flat since Endgame, and this entry is no exception. While I can't speak for the casual moviegoer / "normie" audience member, I can speak for film lovers when I say to Disney and every other movie studio out there, What we (the audience) want is very simple: 1) Focus on writing a quality story, 2) Adapt said story into an engaging cinematic experience. That's it. That's all we want. As a bonus, you can add 3) Respect the source material / characters, but ultimately, if you focus on writing a brilliant script then adapting that to a solid cinematic work, your film will be successful. You Hollywood folks seem to love to check boxes. Maybe return to checking the above boxes as your priority and reduce any agenda or lecturing to the subtext, or better yet, leave it out completely. Returning to form by going back to embracing this approach is guaranteed to fill seats. Just look at Top Gun: Maverick, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and others that have put story and cinematography first. Take notes and straighten your priorities, guys. Or die a slow death as you slip into obscurity with your remaining tiny audience of ~1,500 Twitter extremist idealogues that you seem intent on catering to at any cost. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is poorly written it has no real story. These movies are starting to get old and predictable. I did not enjoyed this enough like the past tons of films and they're way too overrated.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is, out of all things, one especially: too much of everything. The first Strange was just the right amount of well executed visual effects, this one is just brain-melting. It's overflowing with it, and while it's good-looking quality wise - it adds nothing. The story is, just like the latest Spider-Man, very, very bare-bones and could've easily been condensed in half of this movie's length if you really wanted to make it "just story".
I understand the appeal of putting characters like Captain Carter, Professor Xavier or, even, John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic in the movie - but please let them do something that adds to the story at the very least.

It's so, so disappointing that the talent of Elisabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch and Xochitl Gomez was wasted in this dragging VFX-fest of a movie.

This is a Scarlett Witch movie not a Dr Strange movie. As a stand alone movie its okay. As a so called Dr. Strange movie it really makes other characters more important to the point its not a Dr. Strange movie.

In this case this character is America Chavez. A Mexican American girl ( who speaks a horrible spanish, I'm mexican and I could barely understand her jokes in spanish ) And they've mixed Mexico and America in one Character called America Chavez, if it wasnt enough she has a star like captain America in her very MURICAN Jacket, and she literally opens interdimensional portals but she is not in control. Let me see where I've seen this before, OH right With Ciri in the witcher Series. The effects are also very similar to Ciri's powers in the Witcher 3 game. And America Chavez is also being hunted for the same Reason as ciri in the witcher series. They are both hunted by a villain to use her teleportation abilities. America is tramuatized by her two (supposedly mexican mothers) who speak again a very broken cringy spanish. She is just shown in a plant world with no civilization in another universe. but somehow a bee happens to land on her hand and she gets scared and teleports her 2 mothers into some other universe. Literally anywhere in the universe. Of course if you choose a randome point you would probably end up in the middle of empty space and die instantly. She had also been living with her mothers for at least 15-18 years. You would think that she would have gotten scared of something else in her life and opened a portal before or something, but no, bee, portal, parents gone. Thats your background for one of the central characters. moving on. They go to a very utopic universe New York where the most that they could come up with was a Normal New York with contemporary looking buildings with some roof gardens and a waterfall from the empire state, imagine the amount of water pumps and the energy required to run that. (there is actually a building in china with a waterfall that rarely gets used because of how much power it requires) And the only other difference is that streetlights are switched so you go on red. The scarlett witch goes crazy and wants to find the girl no matter what and persues the main characters to the avengers that are actually the illuminati ( wow how imaginative ) and is conformed by several old known characters and some very stereotypical new ones. which are practically the same as the original ones but opposite. So Instead of Captain America, its Captain Great Britain and she is a woman! oh wow. Then Captain Marvel stays female but is now black! wow how do they come up with these things, and finally the only original character who is mute because if he talks he destroys everything. So I suppose they wanted to include there people who speak sign language which is okeish. Scarlett Witch arrives and kills them all in a very very similar scene as the first episode of the "Invincible" Cartoon series. Later Strange fights his evil twin from another universe using only magical notes for some reason, The Sound editing and music recording at that scene is kind of interesting, but really they fight using musical notes only, and throw them at each other.

In summary it is a horrendous movie, it falls into every single kind of clichés possible. Nothing makes sense there seems to be no linearity with the rest of marvel, and at this point its just printing money for disney with more bland content. I recommend not going to any marvel movies until they actually start putting some effort into them.

The story of the movie was nonsense
It was bad at all, not at all like Doctor Strange, it was just a fight between women
It would have been better if the name of the movie was about Wanda Vision rather than Doctor Strange
Sorry for the dumbass Marvel

Direção capenga, roteiro lixo. Filme tosco e sem sentido. Simplesmente o pior filme da Marvel (que convenhamos, já está péssima há um bom tempo).
