I really really enjoyed this movie. It was amazing from start to ending. CGI effects and action was superb, and creativity on how fights are developed is at the top!

I do get why people might not like it, though and why its different from other Marvel Movies:

People need to realize that in real life, any war, any fight WILL and should have casualties, there will be dead heroes, there will be death, and this movie has a great depiction of what it might cost and how it can happen in an environment with supernatural powers.
People can't just simply expect that there will be a villain, he will try to destroy something, fail, and all heroes and good guys will survive and go unscratched.
I like the seriousness of Dr. Strange, he is not a comical figure like other superheroes. And how he analizes problems and solutions.
Characters were great, their acting did truly expressed what they tried to convey.

What I did not like:
-Dr. Strange getting stopped over and over again for not very important issues, while he tries to save every universe.
- Main Villain motives to be evil/kill and change entire universes is very vanal and a somewhat simple human problem.
-How they encounter the villain at the beginning, its kind of absurd.

There's some really cool concepts, ideas, and imagery here but overall as a film its disappointing. The film soars when Sam Raimi is let loose and able to inject his horror style into it, and the film falls flat when its falls back into the same tired bland MCU formula. The script feels really underwritten and rushed, and some of the dialogue is pretty terrible. It all concludes with a massive mind-numbing CGI fest trying to throw everything at the wall to see what it sticks, and it just gets boring...less really is more. There's also some pacing issues, my friend fell asleep for 15mins during the 2nd act. Expand

Dr Strange is my fave MCU character and this film was so disappointing. I feel like Raimi must have made a better, more horror leaning film, and the studio left most of it on the cutting room floor.

Pacing is extremely off though most of the film.
There is no ratcheting tension, nearly no tension at all.
It is a straight shot with no twists or turns.
The "Multiverse" was just a few very flashy quick scenes; realistically the film is just set in Universe A and Universe B.
The subversion of the trailers was probably the best part of the film.

The film is very pretty and it has some great alternate character camoes, but ultimately it will leave you feeling hollow and wondering where your time went.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is, out of all things, one especially: too much of everything. The first Strange was just the right amount of well executed visual effects, this one is just brain-melting. It's overflowing with it, and while it's good-looking quality wise - it adds nothing. The story is, just like the latest Spider-Man, very, very bare-bones and could've easily been condensed in half of this movie's length if you really wanted to make it "just story".
I understand the appeal of putting characters like Captain Carter, Professor Xavier or, even, John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic in the movie - but please let them do something that adds to the story at the very least.

It's so, so disappointing that the talent of Elisabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch and Xochitl Gomez was wasted in this dragging VFX-fest of a movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. That was a surprisingly mediocre Marvel Movie. My brother whispered the plot of "WandaVision" to me during the movie, so that I could understand it. I really hate that we now have to have a Dinsney+ account to follow the Marvel Movies. That is a really greedy move, and if that continues, I'll be very pissed. The pacing felt really off. The first half was way too fast, Wanda as a villain felt really odd. The plot, America and Wanda's evilness all came out of nowhere. Wanda was a good villain because she was a horrifying threat, but her motivation felt so half-assed. And do Americans not feel stupid when they create a character that is called "America" and shoots stars?!
The fights were good though. Especially the one with music notes (you'll know after you watched). And I liked the Illuminati, but a lot of viewers don't even know Black Bolt.
The film really felt weird compared to other Marvel movies. I would not recommend it.

CGI was terrible; everytime Wanda used her magic it was just red balls being thrown. Only really cool part in my opinion is when she defeated the illumanti. The studio somehow keeps managing to up the stakes with each movie but honestly I have no idea how they can get any higher.
Overall it's unflinchingly brutal but very engrossing inclusion to the franchise.

The Direction is Great and overall Movie is Awesome just it felt like little unfullfilling at the end. the whole hype around multiverse and the wanda's overpowered self was at peak the movie touch there part but didn't quite made a mark, at the end it felt like it could extend some runtime. The visuals were stunning and the cgi was brilliant unlike other marvel movies overuse of cgi. The music and sound was brilliant love the key tones fight the use of sound was wierdly brilliant. some camera angles and sudden jump scarish thing was awesome, the gags and jokes here and there was funny, the action was amazing and the story made sense and felt little predictable like ususal marvel plotlines. The starting intro of chavez and other strange and the wedding of cristie and the action scene at start was intriguing then the wanda's entry and her in need of chavez power just for the sake of childs seems justifying the title (MOM),the sanctum fight and the wanda's and strange's illusion/tricks were amazing, the cameos were literally awesome the entry of professor x and great to see john krasanki as reed it was amazing, the fight of illuminati with the projection of wanda is literally pure badass the killing literally pushed the boundries of pg 13. the blackbolt's and reed's head blowned and the captain's sheild kill and proff x's horrific killing was literally Mind-blowingly awesome, the last half felt little rushed. the strange's fight with three eyed himself and christine's reaction to all that stuff was fun. the dark hold and zomie incarnation of other strange and the end fight was good and the ending with wanda being witch infront of her childs and her breakdown, with her other self comforting her resulting in realization and making her destroy all darkhold it felt obvious and the end with 3 eye strange and the surprise Charlize's cameo it was amazing, The movie completely felt like wanda's movie she was badass, others were good, Overall It was a too fast paced entertaining incompletely complete movie it was an Awesome theatre experiece. So, parts of the story are strong while others are very weak. Not mentioning of the big plot hole right at the beginning of the movie (that no one can miss). Even if you get some special cameos, the multiverse aspect feels safe and constraint. Wildest moments passes very briefly. The actors are uneven. Some of Olsen drama falls flat, while Gomez gets interesting the further the movie advance. Visually the movie is quite a feast, yet the multiverse is kind of very limited. The FX are stunning at times, but way too fast to appreciate. The music is surely a very good point in this movie. I give the movie 68%. While I remain very divided about the validity of this story, I guess the overall package is still interesting. It's good but not great, and require a good knowledge of the previous TV and movies from Marvel. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is not as good as some people make it, but it definitely isn't as bad either! At the end, it is a pretty straight forward fun ride with some flaws. The biggest one being that you need to have seen a lot of other stuff to actually get whats going on. At the very least you should have seen the first Dr. Strange, all Avengers movies, Loki, Wandavision and probably a bit of What If...

Whats good or what works? The story is good, compared to other movies it is a very small and selfcontained movie. It is not about saving the uni- or multiverse, it is mostly about Wanda and her trauma and Elizabeth Olsen is simply amazing in portraing her. It is as much a horror movie as Disney will probably ever allow it to be, which is great and you can really see, what Raimi did here. R rated it would have been better, but expect a lot more graphic violence than you are used to. The Doctor himself is also great, he has his own story arc, he goes on a journey and he definitely isn't the same person and the end of the movie. Lastly, most of the effects are really good, I recommend seeing it in IMAX, when you can.

Whats not working? Some of the cgi especially at the beginning of the movie is not very good. Garganto (?) looks very cheesy. America Chavez is bit bland, she is essentially the mcguffin of the movie, she is well portraied and the actress is good, but the character doesn't add much apart from being the plot device. And is just me, or is it very ironic that the first mexican super hero's super power is literally crossing borders? Some of the fan service also doesn't work well, especially the introduction of the Illuminati. They only have a few minutes, but they are portrait as arrogant and incompetent and they look... cheap. I am a big fan of Patrick Stewart, but he is at an age where it is painful to watch him "act". Black Bolt will never work on any screen, the movie makes this very clear. The same is true for the F4, a stretching dude simply is not a great hero. And the few scenes show, that arrogant hateful female characters like Captain Carter or Captain Marvel have no place in a movie.

To sum it up, go and see it. Despite not being perfect, it is fun, it is well made and it is tonally very different from other MCU entries, which makes it really refreshing to watch. Don't listen to all this 0-3 ratings, I don't know what these dudes have seen. I can just assume that these are hateful trolls, that probably can't cope with the idea, that a teen can have two mothers and that they can actually contribute something to the resolution of a movie.

While there are a lot of imaginative ideas and fantastic Sam Rami infused "horror-esque" sequences in here, the film never fully worked as a cohesive whole. Conflicting characterization, weak pacing, and ill defined plot elements made it feel largely unsatisfying, hollow, and incomplete. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've not been more disappointed in a Marvel movie as with Dr. Strange part 2. This film is going to be proof in film schools for the next decade that you can take a great group of actors, (Minus one major character) and a good director, just to waste all of their time with poor quality writing. As for the character of America Chavez, I'm not sure if it was the writing, directing, or acting but the character was horrendous. The idea was so poorly carried out that she dragged down every scene that she was in. It wasn't that the concept was the problem, but how it was portrayed at every step was laughably insulting. This film couldn't even remain consistent with the last major Marvel movie, let alone provide any sort of logical consistence. Wanda is not a sympathetic villain, she is psychotic and the writers have a strange infatuation with her that continues since Wandavision. Dr. Strange was written to be extremely intelligent and analytical in his prior film, where his arrogance was off putting but something that the character could get away with. Now he just comes off as simply foolish. They make Wong look incompetent and little more than a joke. The cameos were all rubbish and did little more than to make establish characters look stupid. They were trying to make Wanda look like a huge threat, but to me it came off as these supposedly great heroes were all jack asses. This could have been a great movie. They had very talented actors and a great idea, along with a director that could have pulled it off. However the writing was so piss poor that it was bungled at the corporate level. The director had touches that showed through and created some fantastic visuals. It's the reason that this film made it a 3 on my scale. But he was so held back by Disney that it was a waste of his talent. I wonder if there is a Sam Raimi cut?

This movie could have been great. The cast was almost perfect, and with a different actor for America C. and writers that had the skill and freedom to create a compelling script it could have been a home run. Instead we get a lack luster film with actors that do their best to shovel garbage while a kid without enthusiasm or an idea of how to help just gets in their way. This is directed by a guy that has his hands tied behind his back by corporate with one eye blindfolded. All of whom are shackled to a script from a writers room staffed with people lacking the interest to remember major plot details from the last film in the franchise, and missing the life experience and skill to make a compelling narrative outside of an instruction manual for a toaster. And a host of details from major plot points down to the catering from lunch are likely being dictated by Disney board rooms. The Marvel franchise has a huge problem, no matter how much money is thrown at something you cannot make it good. You NEED writers that care enough about it that they remember the major plot points from the prior movies! They need to remain internally consistent during the current iteration of your 'multiverse' narrative. If they cannot do that then they lack the drive to create compelling stories filled with interesting characters. This isn't just from a single problem. Are there signs of to much corporate control over the creators? Yes there is. Are there signs that the writers lack the life experience to incorporate plot points in complex and subtle ways? Definitely! This movie threw a lot at you and then used the tired old 'subvert expectations' excuse when the story lines just didn't stick.

I really liked all the cameos but i wish we should have more ....

5 right in the middle ...When Evil Dead meets Dr Strange!

- A multidimensional adventure, a tragedy at heart, and a breathtaking spectacle. -

What a mind-blowing cinematic experience ! From beginning to end it feels like a journey in which you've been sucked into... Wow.

How not to start with talking about the entire visual splendor (and visual language) of the movie, these countless insane sequences and all the amazing creativity behind this movie... How not to talk about all these striking acting performances, with characters that all add up to the emotional impact of the story, as well as expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the introduction of new characters (+ the idea of many other potential alternate versions of all characters) and innumerable dimensions/universes to discover and explore...

The story at its core is strongly emotional and it is what drives every bit of the storyline... As a spectator you are invested because you can understand the good reasons and motivations of every slightest character...

The villains of the movie mainly are all the actions and choices taken by each and every character... It's like dominos all falling before your very eyes one by one !... It is heartbreaking in multiple moments, but indeed and above all this movie has heart. And also a strong message about the path that you think you should take, but why ?... What to do and why, who to trust, what you wanna bet on or believe in, and for what ?... So yes, on certain aspects (and in multiple scenes) this movie truly feels like a tragedy ; but in the end it takes an exciting direction moving forward, with new adventures, characters, potential events and stories...

And when you think about the thousands of creative and skilled people working on such an immensely mind-blowing piece of cinema, it's crazy.

This is a wonderfully crafted masterpiece... Hats off to everyone involved in the creation of this film.

I was proven right again and again, Infinity War still proved to be on top. No Way Home made a close second and I was blown away by how good it was (I was more blown away by Sony's cooperation with Disney). However, after a long, grueling wait, this movie more than lived up to the hype. Sam Raimi delivered an incredible masterpiece of a movie, the cinematography was impeccable, the CGI was gorgeous, so much fan service, much more than I was expecting. I was skeptical when it was announced this would be the MCU's first horror movie, as I couldn't really see how that would fit in to the generally family-friendly image of the MCU. But I was proven wrong, so so wrong, this is an incredible piece of art, it could be completely disconnected from the MCU and still be an amazing masterpiece of a film. I just love how different this movie is from the rest of the MCU. Taking a beloved good-guy character (an Avenger even!) and making them the villain of the film, the unique cinematography, the extraordinary plot points and the just overall surreal-ness makes this the best Marvel movie to date.

On a side note, the newest character, America Chavez, was definitely my favorite character of this movie. Xochitl Gomez's performance was amazing, so genuine and real. Her powers are also so awesome, I mean punching star portals into another universe, come on, that's so awesome! It's also great to get more queer representation, after all there is only one other superhero who is queer on-screen (Phastos from Eternals), and as a trans woman I am excited for the future of queerness in the MCU!

In this case this character is America Chavez. A Mexican American girl ( who speaks a horrible spanish, I'm mexican and I could barely understand her jokes in spanish ) And they've mixed Mexico and America in one Character called America Chavez, if it wasnt enough she has a star like captain America in her very MURICAN Jacket, and she literally opens interdimensional portals but she is not in control. Let me see where I've seen this before, OH right With Ciri in the witcher Series. The effects are also very similar to Ciri's powers in the Witcher 3 game. And America Chavez is also being hunted for the same Reason as ciri in the witcher series. They are both hunted by a villain to use her teleportation abilities. America is tramuatized by her two (supposedly mexican mothers) who speak again a very broken cringy spanish. She is just shown in a plant world with no civilization in another universe. but somehow a bee happens to land on her hand and she gets scared and teleports her 2 mothers into some other universe. Literally anywhere in the universe. Of course if you choose a randome point you would probably end up in the middle of empty space and die instantly. She had also been living with her mothers for at least 15-18 years. You would think that she would have gotten scared of something else in her life and opened a portal before or something, but no, bee, portal, parents gone. Thats your background for one of the central characters. moving on. They go to a very utopic universe New York where the most that they could come up with was a Normal New York with contemporary looking buildings with some roof gardens and a waterfall from the empire state, imagine the amount of water pumps and the energy required to run that. (there is actually a building in china with a waterfall that rarely gets used because of how much power it requires) And the only other difference is that streetlights are switched so you go on red. The scarlett witch goes crazy and wants to find the girl no matter what and persues the main characters to the avengers that are actually the illuminati ( wow how imaginative ) and is conformed by several old known characters and some very stereotypical new ones. which are practically the same as the original ones but opposite. So Instead of Captain America, its Captain Great Britain and she is a woman! oh wow. Then Captain Marvel stays female but is now black! wow how do they come up with these things, and finally the only original character who is mute because if he talks he destroys everything. So I suppose they wanted to include there people who speak sign language which is okeish. Scarlett Witch arrives and kills them all in a very very similar scene as the first episode of the "Invincible" Cartoon series. Later Strange fights his evil twin from another universe using only magical notes for some reason, The Sound editing and music recording at that scene is kind of interesting, but really they fight using musical notes only, and throw them at each other.

In summary it is a horrendous movie, it falls into every single kind of clichés possible. Nothing makes sense there seems to be no linearity with the rest of marvel, and at this point its just printing money for disney with more bland content. I recommend not going to any marvel movies until they actually start putting some effort into them.

1. Firstly Strange arc was pretty damn weird in the movie to what his arc was shown in avengers first dr strange and nwh tbh. 2. Wanda's situation is similar to Strange's. We understand that she is evil because the Darkhold has corrupted her, but we don't understand why she decided to use the book or if she knew the consequences of doing so. If she knew it would corrupt her, why did she do it? And so on there are a lot of answered questions. And goes contrary to what she learned in Wandavision
3. Next American Chavez was too interesting. There wasn't much character to her and we did not get who she is and what motivates her the movie is just 126 min and am sure they could have added another 5-10 min to explain her character in much more detail.
4. The direction of the movie too was meh tbh and story was more or less flat.
5.The movie was hyped way too much, a lot was shown in the trailers there was just too much hype and the movie failed to reach the hype

Anyway that's my opinion enjoy the movie and have your own opinion :)

Honestly, I've already seen the light when it comes to a studio establishing, developing and then rounding out a massive continuity of standalone films to an incredibly satisfying degree. For me, that was the MCU's Infinity Saga. Phase four can be whatever it wants, for all I'm concerned. If that means we're due for a more standalone-centric feel, where filmmakers get more of a shot at showcasing their voices with each installment? So be it. Dark, violent and willing to take big swings, I found Sam Raimi's "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness" to be a great deal of fun, with some fantastic imagery and a really terrific first and third act. Does it stick the landing with every character and narrative throughline? No, but I really hope the powers-that-be continue down this road of allowing filmmakers a bit more creative control with pictures like this. More, please. Expand

While these movies are formulaic, I love that they let artistic directors provide their personal spin to these characters’ stories. Sam Raimi’s horror notes make this film feel both familiar and edgy. Yes it is corny and cheesy, but there are deep underlying themes of dealing with grief and learning to be happy, no matter your circumstance/accomplishments. And it doesn’t take itself too seriously, leaning into certain tropes with jokes and other dramatics. While this obviously isn’t an Oscar contending film, I loved it and was thoroughly entertained. Benedict Cumberbach returns as the mystical magician and is joined by a few other heroes, all of whom only have gestural powers, which means their conflicts have them slinging fierce rays at each other. After a fun opening sequence involving a giant one-eyed octopus, the rest of the action takes place among various types discussing the multiverse a lot. Eventually, they spend their time in a massive quantity of attractive visual effects. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall a disappointment. There's definitly some things to like, like adventuring through the multi verse, and Dr Strange is as charming as ever. The visuals are amazing, and it's cool to see some of the crossovers that the multi verse allows for. I really liked the advanced tech world that they showed off. But then, there are many more negative things that just destroy suspension of disbelief, so many bog standard writing cliches. For starters, the intro pulled the old, "omg, high steaks intro, lol no just a dream" cliche. Sometimes characters are stupid for no reason as part of the painfully telegraphed "horror" moments. In one scene Dr Strange and co. are running from Wanda, who is destroying blast doors 2 meters behind them, but they all stop for no reason after closing a bigger door. And it holds in silence on them just standing there doing nothing for 20 seconds. Then Wanda reappears, and they keep running. There are times when the movie tries to fake out a horrible monster right around the corner, but they try way too hard such that all fakeouts are very obvious. The movie also struggles with power creep. Wanda is plain and simple OP. However, she only uses many of her OP abilities one time and then never again for some reason. She can create entire illusory worlds around people. She can snap peoples necks remotely. She can easily make peoples mouths, and presumably noses, disappear. She can charm weak minded people. She can summon giant lovcraftian monsters to great effect. She can appear as a giant demon monster. However, she only used each of these once, and never again, except for the monsters, which she used twice in the beginning and never again. In most of her battles, she still defaults to pew pew laser bolt hands or occasionally remotely tossing people. And the ending is kinda bad. The whole movie we are told the evil book corrupts whoever uses it, but then Strange does and is fine, save a third eye. Strange at one point is losing to a mass of spirits, but then a side character reminds him that he's got magic, as if he forgot, but then he suddenly wins. The "character growth" is spoiled from the beginning of the film, so there's no real payoff. And OP Scarlet Witch is defeated by a small girl walking up and pushing Wanda through a portal, and Wanda does basically nothing to stop it. Expand

It fits in the MCU, but the directing and camerawork build the distinct comic book-y, classic horror-inspired, darkly humorous tone that could only come from Raimi. Like his original superhero Darkman (1990) and the Spider-Man trilogy, this film actually feels like a nutty, fast-paced comic book adventure. Got me reading the original Doctor Strange stories from Steve Ditko/Stan Lee in the '60s! It's clear that Raimi and screenwriter Michael Waldron (Rick & Morty, Loki) are passionate about the character and had fun with the possibilities of the multiverse. There were just enough easter eggs and references to other Marvel properties to whet franchise fans' appetites. Make no mistake, however; they were used at just the right times and with appropriate brevity. Multiverse of Madness still felt like a Doctor Strange solo outing, all crossover madness aside. All in all, I will definitely catch this again in IMAX before the week is done. Can't wait to buy the blu ray and add it to my Raimi home media collection! Expand

The unfortunate thing is that it takes a lot of time introducing things and then leaving them behind a minute later, there's not a lot of consequence in this movie, and not a ton of that will define Marvel's future and this phase, which is this phase' problem tbh. However, the stuff you have on the side to sort of distract you is absolutely fantastic. Sam Raimi also is a very interesting and great choice, if they gave him someone darker, I think he could do a lot of great things. He actually would be perfect for Morbius, Ghostrider could work as well. This movie was a great watch that really flew by and I plan on seeing it again in theaters, likely D-Box. Expand

First off, this movie should have been rated R. It contains extremely gory elements/brutal murder, is full of jump scares, and has other graphic imagery that is just not suitable for a younger audience. It is a bonified horror film. This isFirst off, this movie should have been rated R. It contains extremely gory elements/brutal murder, is full of jump scares, and has other graphic imagery that is just not suitable for a younger audience. It is a bonified horror film. This is far darker than other Marvel movies! Secondly, it is full of satanic themes (the Illuminati, witchcraft, demons/demon summoning, possession, occult rituals, and necromancy). If this clashes with your morals/religious views, I strongly suggest bypassing this movie because of how heavily it pushes this kind of agenda. To be honest, I walked out because it was so disturbing. After doing some research on the end credit scene, I see that Dr. Strange movies will continue to go further down the demonic route. I will not be supporting Marvel anymore. This is not the Marvel we all remember from Phases 1-3. What on earth were they thinking? Last, the plot itself was rather flat compared to other Marvel movies, and while we got a bunch of nice cameos, they were under-utilized in my opinion. The only thing going for this movie was the special effects and fan service. Everything else missed the mark. Expand

I really enjoyed this movie, if your watching it and you have not watched Wandavision Disney+ series it might not make as much sense, I would also watch marvel “what if” first too.

Honestly, its hard to know how to feel about this movie or to even give this a rating. This may be a biased opinion because I am a fan of the Marvel movies, and Dr. Strange is my favorite character. On the good side, it was very unique, and I loved the cinematic creativity. I thought the acting was good, and I enjoyed the cameos. But in the end, I was left wanting more. I had high expectations for this film, and I thought this would be the movie to massively expand the multiverse, and I thought this film would show exactly what direction Marvel was going in. In the end, I was kind of left wanting more. I feel like the movie was too short. There were a lot things that didn't get addressed, and they moved too quickly through all the important plot points and left a lot of scenes too short. But on the cinematic level, it was top of the game. That helped make this an overall good movie. Expand

Good movie and has a good director, but Marvel's formula is a problem now, the cause is a good story but the fun moments are boring now.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may rely too much on the madness. The movie felt as though it could not decide on it's tone and by no means felt like a sequel to the first Doctor Strange movie tonal wise. Wanda's motivation is written off as just "The Darkhold" and feels cheap after spending nearly 10 years with the character. For a movie that was supposed to have such emotional weight I unfortunately did not feel much. As for the positives the visuals and action pieces were fun. Expand

Doctor Strange continues to channel the vibe of his comic as it felt when I read the series back in the 80s. Seems bizarre that it maps so well from comic to celluloid. Loved the drop ins from other marvel characters: what a great way to nod to characters that will likely never have their own show, without creating the unmanageable collage of Infinity Wars.
8 thumbs up.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 6.5 out of 10. Pros:
Elizabeth Olsen delivered another excellent performance. Doctor Strange is the title but this was really a story about her dealing with a culmination of personal losses throughout her time in the MCU and what she's willing to do to regain some of that loss.

The second act was phenomenal and the third act was solid. The cameos were satisfying. But the real fan service was the score/theme from the animated X-men that played when Professor X took the screen.

The horror elements were fantastic.

Cons:
The first act was a complete bore.

The CGI was pretty rough at a few parts. Most notably when Wanda exited the mirror realm. No excuse for bad visual effects in a Doctor Strange movie.

Possibly a controversial take here - the actress who played America Chavez was not good. Her body language and line delivery was jarring enough to pull me from my immersion at several points. There are plenty of incredibly talented young, Hispanic women actors who could have played this part really well (Jenna Ortega would have been perfect, in my opinion). This actress will grow into the role overtime, I'm sure. However, I was a little bummed out that the casting didn't seem to fit for a new character that was critical to this story and potentially even to the future of the MCU.

Lastly and on a related note, they nerfed the heck out of Wanda's powers at the end. It was laughable. Wanda has not gone toe-to-toe, but rather SPANKED Ultron, Vision, Thanos, and brutally offed the members of the Illuminati - then she gets punched in the face a few times by a girl with "star power" that she was already intent on killing and suddenly she forgets to use any of her magic/powers. Seemed a bit too lazy/convenient.

There is a certain horror element to this movie that works really well for the characters. Plenty of cameos and fun moments, my only complaint is it should have been 20 minutes longer because it needed more filler in between key plot points, and I never once got bored of what it was showing me. I feel that it gets better the more and more that I think about it, and I can easily see it topping some of my most beloved MCU movies. Expand
