In fact I created this account just so I could say some positive words to combat all the negativity from the critics. What I loved about it was the quick jump into action and the dramatic scenes throughout the movie. The confusing parts were some of the cut scenes and dream sequences which kind of came out of nowhere. However, knowing how Marvel played out their universe in cinema, I have faith that these are simply planting seeds for future movies. Ben Afleck – if you get a chance to read this you definitely owned the role of Batman. It's tough to play a superhero that doesn't have any superpowers – much like Iron Man. So the writing and character development needs to be very careful for it to be believable. I found it not only believable but extremely entertaining! The sheer force of Batman and his fighting in this movie was awesome. Not as much ninjitsu but more just brawler it was probably a truer reality to Batman than has ever been done before. Superman was believable in his victorious moments and in his defeat moments which was really great to see the attention to detail there. Wonder woman coming at the end added a sense of "this movie is awesome". The storyline I think relies on the viewers knowing more about the DC universe then they probably will. For true fans of the Justice League they will probably make more sense out of it. As for the negative reviews by the critics based on cinematography, plotline accuracy, shallow characters, etc. etc. etc. I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm just done with this type of negativity in order to sound educated. Analyze creative output in a circle where the depth of analysis is warranted. But this is not that place. This is a superhero movie. This is an action movie. Any over-analysis of cinematic technique and craft in bringing this story to life just takes away the fun spirit behind which super hero stories were created in the first place. I had fun watching it with my family and ultimately that's what it should be about. I will definitely see the next movies in the DC superhero universe! Thanks to all who helped making Batman V Superman for the care and attention to detail in this debut milestone film. Expand

Ben Affleck channels Frank Miller's Batman while Henry Cavill taps into Kingdom Come/Red Son's Superman. What that means is that for better or for worse, this is a comic book movie made for comic book fans. And unfortunately for Zack Snyder,Ben Affleck channels Frank Miller's Batman while Henry Cavill taps into Kingdom Come/Red Son's Superman. What that means is that for better or for worse, this is a comic book movie made for comic book fans. And unfortunately for Zack Snyder, comic book fans can be pretty harsh critics. Snyder does not do himself any favors by including a polarizing CGI villain (as seen in the trailers) and perhaps an even more polarizing Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg. To say that this movie is dark would probably be an understatement for most viewers but this is the Batman that many fans have been waiting for and Ben Affleck delivers. Not only as the dark knight but also as billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne. While it's great to finally see Wonder Woman on the big screen, Gal Gadot really shines as Diana Prince and Jeremy Irons is perfect as Alfred Pennyworth. The pacing is great until it runs into a brick wall of 90's nostalgia but even that can't stop two of the world's finest superheroes. Expand

It was almost a dream to see what unfolded. As a long time DC fan this is everything I could’ve wished for and more. It told an intricate sophisticated story while giving us, while few, satisfying action sequences. This is what we’ve been waiting for not as just DC fans but as comic fans in general. If you love comics you owe it to yourself to see this film. I’m still can’t stop thinking about it, I need to see this movie a few more times in theaters its just such a monumental experience. To say this movie is not funny at all must either not be paying attention or needs it thrust upon them emphatically as is the way with Marvel films. The humor is subtle and flows from a sarcastic Alfred, to a quirky Lex, to Perry White (who I felt had the funniest lines in the film). As Bruce Wayne says “Don’t believe everything you hear son”. I think the movie got off to a slow start and some of the sub plots were just not necessary and could have been omitted. Although the start was slow and at times boring, it was essential for the overall plot of the movie's title. But once the action starts unfolding, its amazing. Did it exceed my expectations? No. But it didn't fall way short either like the reviewers want us to believe. I actually rated it an 8.5/10 and that's because of the slow pacing start. But go see the movie for yourselves and don't listen to the critics who seem like they had their reviews already printed before they saw the film. Expand

I'm surprise at the negative reaction from some people. This film is better than most of the X-Men films (with the except of maybe Days of Future Past) and it is better than Age of Ultron, Iron Man 2 and 3, Thor: The Dark World, and any of the transformers movies. We get he best version of Batman on film to date (which is not easy task after Nolan/Bale); we get and enigmatic and powerful female hero in Wonder Woman, a simple but effective setup for the Justice League, and a great final battle. The visuals are awesome, the score powerful (love the Wonder Woman track) and the Easter eggs are plentiful if you are a DC fan. Lex could be controversial, but even then it is better than all previous cinematic version of Lex combined. Some people may get lost if they don't pay attention, it is unapologetically a super hero movie. Overall, the movie is entertaining (didn't even feel the 2+ hours) and it is successful in setting up the dawn of the Justice League. See it for yourself, it is well worth the price of admission. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My actual score is an 8.5 out of 10 and my oh my what a doozy it has been with the split between people loving it, and the contrary. I have spent more than an adequate amount of time reading reviews from all over the internet whether it be from a critic or the audience. The critics reviews seem to be copying one another, with saying things like, "it is incoherent in the first half". "There isn't much fun to be had". The tone is too grim throughout leaving it "humorless". It is "swept over by visual effects reducing a powerful story". My opinion after seeing this malarkey time and time again from these so called professional movie reviewers, is that they have fallen into a cacophony of Marvel formula style superhero movies. I would bet on the fact that if this film were to have been released near the time frame of when Marvel was building up to 2012's Avengers, that the current reviews would be drastically different and more positive because most of these critics are allowing themselves to sink into a specific tone that has been set for how superhero movies are to supposedly be made throughout the past 8 years.

BvS was a great way to start up the DC universe, aside from some plot "inquiries" I will call them instead of "holes". Narratively speaking, the switch from Batman trying to crush Superman to then saving his mother could have been built up in a stronger fashion. In real time of the film itself, this switch feels too abrupt since there wasn't enough story to back up the fact that not only was Batman afraid of what Superman might become leading him to feel as though he needed to be confronted, but that there is also a sense needed of Superman becoming an ally. This was one of the biggest points that failed a lot of the audience. Him simply siding with Superman in lieu of deep-seated emotional trauma wasn't just enough to make it fully believable. Especially since he was seconds from cutting his head off with that spear. Why not include Batman accepting both possibilities (friend or foe) throughout the film? Other than that flaw, pretty much all other complaints on the plot seem to be either asinine or forgivable due to the fact that only so much can be crammed into one film before moans of longevity accumulate.

The other mentionable up sides to this Zack Snyder film, are by far the overall performances of our three heroes. Affleck received much hate prior to the film's production, and to no surprise of my own, was he excellent. In addition, the costume for Batman is probably my favorite of any previous iteration. Cavill reprised his role, and brought what he was given (directively speaking) to full potential. I love his interpretation and look for Superman. He is what Hugh Jackman is to Wolverine, the perfectly cast actor for the job. And oh how I want to see Superman use his ice breath! This is two installments now without as little as much of a puff, from this distinguishing ability. Also, some more of those distinct Superman uppercuts where he clasps his hands together, wouldn't hurt either. Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot brings magic to the screen with this first live action portrayal in a blockbuster film. It was a very exciting moment to see her presence finally embrace the big screen. Worth noting, is the score specifically made for her character; it was one of the best I have heard for any hero yet. Maybe even on par with Hans Zimmer's prior work on the Dark Knight. Aside from the heroes, Jesse Eisenberg's take on Luthor had me convinced of his lunacy and ultimate strive for his ability to be amongst the powerful demigod that is his main rival, Superman.

Overall, I am perplexed by the amount of negative feedback from some people but am one of many that happened to love this film. Looking forward to a second viewing. Congratulations to the cast and crew behind this large step for the DC cinematic universe. Thanks for reading.

Overall this films was absolutely exhilarating visually and auditory, story was very keen and interesting, but there was just way too much going on. Character wise, this movie had it all. Batman was absolutely thrilling (gave me goosebumps), superman is well surprisingly better represented, lex luthor was well crazy, awkward, weird but still decent, wonder woman played out tremendously and Doomsday is just good enough. So for those of like DC comics, Over-the-top action sequences followed up by Snyder's directorial vision and few easter eggs (*cough *cough Joker) and plot holes, here and there. Then this is the FILM FOR YOU...... if not however just watch it, you're bound to enjoy it either ways.
P.S no I'm not a fan of Marvel nor DC comics. I'm a fan of Darkhorse :)

Anyway, I was one of the people who loved Man of Steel, and Batman V Superman was a great follow up. I actually really dislike Ben Affleck in general, but he made me forget that during this movie. Everything was phenomenal. The only critique I have is I thought the dream sequence was unnecessary clutter amidst an already complicated (but still quite coherent) screenplay. If I were one of the cast or crew, I would pay attention to the fact that audiences on Metacritic, RottenTomatoes, and IMDB have all been largely supportive. Expand

BvS is indulgent, cerebral, bombastic, fiercely intelligent, gorgeous, emphatic and sensual - and these are just some of the things that make it outstanding. Each character has their own voice, from the mastermind Lex to the farmboy-with-a-bruised-heart, Superman, to Lois with her ambition tempered by experience. The script has depth enough to be plumbed over several viewings; the visuals are finely crafted and not the 'let's nuke your eyeballs' approach other superhero films have taken. The characters' motives unfold with an identifiable pattern; and this pattern is 'symphonic'. An excellent film and a good sign of DC movies to come. Firstly, Ben Affleck is definitely the best Batman ever. Already we know Henry Cavill so compitable with Superman role but, nobody wait Ben Affleck's extraordiary role.

In my opinion, the film has two excuses. Firstly, it is really too long, approximately 150 minutes, if only it has 90 or 100 minutes and we can so satisfied. Secondly, that "Martha" thing. On relevant scene, Batman has advantage and he is so nervous, but when he heart "Martha will die" words he give up. This is weird. Yes, Martha is his mom, but this is not enough reason for giving up.

In addition, soundtracks of film are amazing. Especially, when our three heroes (Batman-Superman-Wonder Woman) presented together musics are extraordinary. Speaking of Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot is as succesfull as Ben Affleck. She looks like completely her comic-book version.

Finally, I really suggest this film and if you do not have any prejudice, you will like this film.

I felt that Batman had reached his peak with the Dark Knight Rises and it would all be destroyed by this movie and Ben Affleck. I did not like the guy and his acting.

The movie surprised me, a lot. Everyone in the cast did a really good job. What amazed me the most was that Affleck showed us another side of Batman. Bale's Batman has one rule, Affleck's Batman has no rules. He will kill the bad boys.

The movie is gritty and dark, and it is only the PG13/Teen version. I cannot wait for the R version coming out this summer. I feel like the PG13 ruins super hero movies because nobody can die and it is all a bunch of fighting with their fists, but Znyder really distances Justice League from the Avengers' family friendly appeal.

I wish that Wonder Woman had entered the movie earlier, however, I guess she was kept till the end to "force" people to watch her own off-shoot movie. It is all about money people.

The poor ratings by the critics compared with the viewers' rating show once again that critics live in a bubble where they must distance themselves and remain the elite. Do not listen to their reviews. Look at what other people have said instead.

The only bad thing I can say about the movie is that there seems to be some loop holes in the story. I think that they cut too much content out of the PG13 version that the R rated version might do better. We will have to see.

I think Ben Affleck more than redeemed himself as Batman and thought he made Batman. Don't bother with the critic reviews...what do they know. It is the fans that matter and we are the ones that make the difference. I was looking forward to this movie and I was not let down. It was a good movie and I look forward to the future in the franchise. The introduction of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman was a great addition..especially when they were fighting Doomsday. I was kind of sad about Superman, but I have read the book, the comics and watched the animated series, so I know he will be back. And it doesn't hurt that Henry Cavill is listed in the cast for the future Justice League movie. I saw at the end the dirt move too...All in all, it was one of the movies that I am glad that I went to see and am looking forward to the future movies. Expand

Star Wars Ep. VII gets a whopping 81 from these so called cinema experts and really it's nothing but a watered down, cliché ridden version of the true essence of the Star Wars universe, clearly targeted at children and teens (because lets be honest, did anyone leave that movie theatre with a stimulated intellect? I highly doubt that.) I don't particularly feel inclined to believe or accept these 'critics' opinion.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was and is a great movie. Yes it has it's flaws, the beginning is a little bit messy and some segments could have been done differently in order to create better flowing action and even the storyline could have been more refined. But the content is still there. In the end it all comes together and this is all I can ask from this genre of movie. Great acting, Affleck surprised me (positively) with his Batman/Bruce Wayne. I feel bad for prematurely judging him before watching the movie. Henry Cavill is just such a great Superman. I could really feel his mental struggle in a level than I couldn't help but sympathise with his gentle and noble spirit. He has a very expressive face and was able to transmit his emotions to me with a simple look. Now this takes talent.
Lex Luthor was amazingly done by Jesse Eisenberg. I do love me a crazy eccentric genius for a villain.
Didn't particularly see the point of presenting Wonder Woman in this film besides creating already some hype for future movies. I can't say I agree with that.
With good CGI, interesting plot and very cool cinematography, this is more than enough to receive high praise from me.
Overall this movie surprised me... quite a lot. I went there thinking this would be another awful Hollywood take on the classic comics and came out actually happy that I spent my money on it. Mind you, this happens quite infrequently.
Just go watch it. Please ignore these ignorant 'critic' reviews. Take your own conclusions from it. We really don't need more of these 'experts' telling us what we should or shouldn't like. Their opinion is theirs and it holds the same significance (certainly not more) of anyone else in this world.

The real let down is Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. He did a poor imitation of H. Leadger's Joker showing not only, that he has no idea who Lex Luthor is but also that he is a really bad actor.
Despite this I had a really good time watching this movie and I believe that both Superman and Batman fans should be satisfied.

-Ben Affleck made for an amazing Frank Miller Batman. He's a grizzled, old, son of a **** This is the Batman that I really like, and one that reminded me a lot of the comic book Batman post-Jason Todd to Knightfall.
-Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was exceptionally well done. The writing of his character was amazing. The took the best Lex Luthor villany from the comic series and brought it to life.
-Doomsday: They did everything they should have done with Doomsday. That's all I'm saying without spoiling the movie.
-Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot? Yes. More of that please!
-The Fight: Done right. Ended the way it should have.
-Sequel? Oh god I hope so! They alluded to some stuff from the DCU that would make for an awesome story-telling. This was set up right.

This is a DARK movie. The comparisons have been against the Marvel movies, and one of the things that makes the MCU movies so lovable is the comic relief. There is none of that here and that's how it should be. Remember comic relief in a Batman flick? Watch Batman Forever or Batman and Robin. Then go back to your corner and pout some more if you think laughs work in a DC comic/movie.

DC comics have always been darker than the Marvel comics. This is what WB needs to make more of.

Really enjoyed this movie. Went in not expecting much - didn't care for Man of Steel... but I was pleasantly surprised. I also liked Ben Affleck's Batman, wasn't a fan of the casting at first but I thought he did a great job.

This movie was not hard to follow, it was not disjointed. The plot was easy to follow, but surprisingly emotional, much more than really any avengers movie (which I love, don't me wrong). There were probably a few small plot holes, but honestly this was a well told and gripping movie for a superhero movie (remember, super hero movie, not a based on a true story drama)
The only reason why I would not give it a perfect 10, is because it is slightly rushed, because it is fitting a lot of good stuff in. It also isn't the most mind blowing plot, but that is kind of hard to do in super hero movies. What it does though is make a superhuman subject relatable and human. So yes it is darker, but that isn't a bad thing.
It is absolutely worth watching and if you are a DC or any kind of superhero fan, this movie has to excite you for the future of DC and the Justice League!

Awesome movie.

Ben Affleck is spectacular as Batman.
Henry Cavill is excellent as Superman.
Gal Gadot is not in the movie enough to claim greatness, but she certainly isn't a problem. What she does is very good and makes me very happy that the Wonder Woman movie is coming soon.
Jesse Eisenberg portrays a very different Lex Luthor than I have seen before or was expecting, but he delivers a very good performance. I'm not a big fan of Jesse Eisenberg, but I will give him credit where it is due.
I believe that Batman v Superman was a phenomenal movie, and was very satisfying movie on all counts. It's not quite as genius as Man of Steel, but an exceptional follow up for the DC universe.
I'm eagerly anticipating Suicide Squad and the Justice League movies. Just can't stand the wait!

I appreciated it for what it was, and it brought me the 2 biggest superhero icons on the big screen with Wonder Women (the biggest female superhero also). A lot of people had the problem with pre-conceived notions of how Batman and Superman are suppose to be. This is a different take on the heroes, and if people cannot accept that, then of course it will get negativity. There were some plot problems but the action was awesome. There is more depth to this movie than people realize. I could go on and write pages about my thoughts on it. But it is not a bad movie, it did put a lot of content into one movie.. But this should not get a low rating as it has. Real comic book fans and fans of DC's top 3 heroes can appreciate the comic references this movie gives. This is a different take on the heroes and it is darker, but I liked it. I loved Man of Steel and I probably am in the minority, but it should not be compared to Marvel. Two totally different things. I just wish there could be more appreciation for Superman, but I am excited for Justice League. This movie deserves more recognition than it is getting. Expand

This movie is a comic book on screen. It is fun too, do not let the reviews out there fool you, there were moments I was cheering and having a blast. I like that the plotting of Lex throughout the film brings all of the heroes together in the end, as well as sets up the need for the Justice League to form. I thought that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor was a refreshing take on a well known character. He brought a manic malevolence to the performance that set him apart from other Luthors we have seen. I also enjoyed the final climax to the movie as the three heroes try to find a way to defeat Doomsday and not destroy another city. Expand

The film had heft and I didn't take my eyes off that screen from the opening titles to the closing credits. Affleck was a superb Batman, Cavill did a great job with Superman, Godot was a brilliant Wonder Woman - if I have any criticism it's that Eisenberg could dialled back the scenery chewing a notch or two. Batman is amazing, Superman is okay, Wonder Women is great, but Lex Luthor was a bit too cartoon- ish.
The script was messy at parts, but some moments were great at parts. Ben Affleck brings the best
performance we seen from him, and so does Gal Gadot. It's good to know we get a shared DC Universe, with shared characters. Zack Snyder visuals fell very comic book-ish. The soundtrack was too great.
But the end felt to jumbled and the big bad guy was a dumb destructive monster that was killed in 2 seconds. But the end was risky so it feels necessary for DC is about to start. But man did I have a good time, and I want to witness this type of experience again!

It has a mixture of cultures within different scenes. Sometimes they can pop a joke or two while trying to be intense at the same time. The mixture creates an enjoyable atmosphere. In other cases they try to keep the action pact scenes while staying with the dramatic atmosphere.

Going into the movie you should know some lore that comes with both the Superman series and the Batman series but little information is needed to keep up because the lore is explained fairly well. The scene where batman views other Justice League future members is explained at the end of the movie with the conversation Batman has with Wonder Woman. Although the further details will hopefully be explained in future movies the broad area of the Justice League is mentioned.

After every scene throughout the movie left me on the edge of my seat and hoping the movie didn’t end there. Even after the dramatic ending I wanted to delve into the mind of the screen writers and the director to see what would happen next. The action scenes were well developed and used the correct amount of realistic-looking special effects. Some movies go over the top on the Special effects and make the action scenes seem corny and Batman vs. Superman didn’t seem to have that affect.

Overall Batman vs. Superman is a good start-up movie and seems to hold a promising future toward the upcoming Justice League series. The scene build is intense with a good mixture of genres. It seems to have more of an open genre name and shouldn’t be held to just the fantasy and science fiction genre. The lore within the movie is explained well and hopefully will be elaborated on further in the story line. This movie is given 9/10 stars on my scale.

Luckily for me I saw this before the critics barrage of low reviews. My 1st encounter with Batman v Superman was at the NYC IMAX screening.. While I liked the movie I wasn't sure if I loved it.. It literally was too much to take it in.. Luckily for me I saw this before the critics barrage of low reviews. Having no influence I was able assess my own conclusions.. Having seen the movie multiple times now I've come to the conclusion that I love this movie more with each viewing..
Let's start with the negatives:
Pacing/Editing - Notice this right away. The movie at times jumps around lot. Some scenes aren't fleshed out , while some do drag.. You can tell right away that many scene were cut to get this movie under 3hrs..

Now for the positives:
Cast is great , I don't care what anyone say I loved this cast , they all did a great job. The interpretations of the characters fit for the movie & where we are at in the DCEU. I think its crazy for many to complain about these characters (specifically Bats & Supes) when the characters arc isn't even complete in this universe.Patience !. I dug Lex , yea he was annoying at times , but that was the point ... He was one of the best Villains we seen in in the last 6 yrs in any Comic Book Movie.. the fact that we finally have a villain that actually acts like a Super Villain, it was a pleasure to see the bad guy actually bring our heroes to their knees.. Gal didn't have much to work with but on screen she became Wonder Women, loved the look the accent , looking forward to her movie..Batfleck was great best onscreen batman & I'm a big fan of Keaton's.. Cavil again played Supes well , can't wait to see him in JL

Story- I loved this story & the world building.. Many people complain, yes it's a lot to take in , But I give them Kudos for such a big ambitious story .. The level of detail , research put into this movie was great..This is a movie you must watch multiple times as you will find yourself noticing something new every time.. It was refreshing not watching your traditional CBM , a movie that actually forces you to pay attention, as there are many subplot to go along w/ the central plot.. It doesn't hold your hand or any bars, you won't be spoon-fed. The 1st half of the movie plays out much like a Thriller / Drama.. Each scene is imperative to the story, each piece of dialogue will tell you exactly what you need to know ( actions, motives, characteristics)

action - Typical Synder , its his strong point ..it's awesome , from the opening to the end, each action scene is straight from the pages of a comic book ..yes the CGI is shotty in some spots , but what CBM isn't ..

It's fine that many didn't like the movie, but i think people should give it another chance. It really is something we never saw before in the CBM universe.. Yes, it jumps around, yes, unless your a big comic book fan some scenes you probably won't get.. But that's what makes it fun (to me at least), It keeps the movie fresh as you will find yourself doing research after you watch BvS..

Despite a few plot holes andAn incredible film for comic book fans that delivers emotion and action around every corner. The ideologies of unchecked power and how to deal with it has been a hot topic in comic books throughout the years. Despite a few plot holes and clear pacing problems throughout the movie it's nonetheless an enjoyable experience. The film succeeds in showing the different perspective's from different characters pertaining to the events at the end of MoS and superman himself. Ben Affleck is definitely the light that shines in this dark and action packed story; giving comic book fans the definitive version of the dark knight we truly deserved. The audience gets to see both sides of the man behind the bat. Bruce Wayne, a man still holding onto the tragedy that struck him as a child. And Batman the dark knight who will stop at NOTHING to put an end to the immediate and imminent threat who he sees as Superman. Believe it or not Jesse Eisenberg's Alexander luthor Jr. is very much similar to that of Bruce Wayne; in which they both possess two sides to their character. To the public Lex is a young billionaire philanthropist who wants to help humanity in it's struggle to build towards a better tomorrow. But behind the closed doors of 'LexCorp'. he's an evil and cunning genius who takes advantage of the worlds naivety for his own insane agenda; which includes trying to extinguishing the one threat to his plans, Superman. Lex is definitely the mastermind behind the show carefully pulling the strings of everyone else and our two beloved heroes; even pitting them against one another to deliver "The Worlds greatest gladiator match in the history of the world". There may not be much to say about her but Gal Gadot's performance as wonder woman proved to show people why she was the break-out star and unsung hero in this film. She kicks-ass as the beautiful Amazonian princess of Thyemiscira; but also possesses a mysterious past that will for sure intrigue the audience wanting to know more. In this film Henry's Superman plays a sort of public enemy #1 in which anyone who isn't Lois or Martha Kent considers him either a threat to be taken care of or a threat to be controlled. Superman, despite being the clear symbol of hope he is, is still struggling with the events of MoS and is very much being crucified by the media for it. Like most films concerning any object or person with any enormous amount of power, the government and the White House are involved in the affair. Senator Finch and every other 'suit' in Washington feel that Superman is a matter to be dealt with and should hold some responsibility for the destruction caused by Gen. Zod and the other Kryptonians. Superman, despite being the clear symbol of hope he is, is still struggling with the events of MoS and is very much being crucified by the media for it. The ideals of Batman, Lex and Sen. Finch serve as the three legs for which the entirety of what is Batman v Superman stands on and it's wonderful. This film for better or worst will leave the audience thinking and wanting more as it answers the question of unchecked power but questions as who should be the one to "check" that power. It also leaves the question of whats next for the trinity and other super-powered in the DCEU as the clear indications throughout the movie show "We are not alone" in this universe. In the end Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an action-packed,emotionally-memorable and visually-stunning film experience for comic book fans and audience a like. Weather it's lines like "you're not brave, men are brave" or to batman unleashing absolute hell on group of thugs in an abandoned warehouse in true dark knight fashion. Dawn of justice is the absolute epitome of a real super-hero film that is not afraid to take chances or risk to further it's story. Expand

It is funny how they bash on this movie for the same things they praised other movies for. Anyway, I dug the things they did in this movie, and understand the choices they made...remember this is a movie not a comic book. The studio has to think of everyone and can't just do things for the fans. For example...Doomsday. "ooo! **** this movie doomsday was just shoe-horned in for the sake of it and they rushed him". Im sorry guys, but the casual audience is not gonna wanna sit through a 2 hour movie about Superman fighting that thing, so yeah you got to think about that. Anyway, I love this movie best out of the 4 comic book movies thus far, ignore critics and make the opinions for yourselves. Expand

Ben Affleck played an almost perfect Batman and Henry Cavill portrayed Superman as brilliantly as ever. The rest of the cast were also very good and the script was superbly written. Despite what the critics say, I would rank this movie higher than any other I have seen so far in 2016. It may not be perfect, as there are a few plot holes here and there, but overall this movie is fantastic and I'm sure they will perfect the formula for the next Justice League movie. I would say the movie will appeal more to fans of the comics, and certainly Batman fans in particular like myself, but it is enjoyable no matter who you are. Well worth a second watch if you ask me! This 9/10 is for the Ultimate Edition which is clearly the untouched, untampered-with version.

The theatrical release was sadly very flawed and choppy so that would get a 6/10.

Coming to movie, except that Martha scene, in a whole it was awesome.

My first thought after watching that scene was like "Cool, i have been reading, watching superman or batman comics/animation since i was 9 years old and still i didn't notice that. That is amazing".

But the very next thought was "hey! they were fighting. Dammit. It was thrilling. If you wanted to have a pact between them, Snyder YOU should have done something else. You could have done better ".

Ben Affleck as batman was awesome. No ill will to Bale. Affleck personality made him the right choice for the Frank Miller's batman.

Wonder woman !! OH MY GOD !! In such a short span she pulled something amazing.

* The plot could use some strength and a well pace, not mixing the things up for normal audience.

1.) Like the parademon thing was confusing to most people. what are they.
2.) Wonder woman Lasso was also confusing to people." Is it a rope? Why is she restraining doomsday by a rope? Does it contains magic? Is wonder woman a witch? No she is not . but a rope?????

* Jesse could have been a better Lex. The Lex we saw was kind of psycho but really he is gangsta type with some well calculated moves. But in the movie ending he was coming to his usual self. The way we are used to see Lex. But hey different people different view.

* Looks like i am criticizing too much and still giving it a 9, i wanted to give 8 but then it hit me , we were only focused for BvS but the movie which we saw was "Dawn of Justice". BvS was just a catalyst for it

It's dark, ambitious, and highly intelligent, has real warmth at its heart, and is better acted and directed than any comic book movie to date. Also, Zack Snyder does a far better job of pulling together all the various plot and character strands than Josh Whedon does in the Avengers films.

Indeed, I have a theory as to why Snyder's work gets panned, while garbage like The Avengers and The Force Awakens gets universally praised: critics today, like a large section of society, are infantilised, and thus are incapable of processing movies that require any amount of thought beyond five seconds. I mean, the entire plot of BvS is driven by fear of fascism and totalitarianism, with some of the characters - including Bruce - acting hysterically as a result. This is really weighty stuff, and worthy of acclaim for a comic book movie; but not one critic I have read appears to have grasped this central theme, even though it is rammed into their faces from the very start with the unsettling nod to Nietzsche (whom I would wager most critics have never even heard of).

It is, though, heartening to see that far more of the audience liked this film than did the critics, and that it made a heap of money. So perhaps there is hope that there will continue to be a place in cinema for Mr Snyder, who never fails to create really meaningful, visually stunning work.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

And i never watch any of the comics.
But BVS did bring me in to become a DC fans.

I really loved this film spending so much times in this film to let you understand why peoples hate superman, and Batman give me a feel more like a human, not just a super hero doing good thing for nothing, no, even Batman have a selfish part.

Other films will try to get the bad side of every super hero too but... didn't have much convincing, it sounds like :"Hey this superhero have his weakness in his heart too, and then he will still save the world", other film didn't want to spend more time on explaining the weakness, or explaining how the normal peoples fears.

BVS did that, and this is the film that more of you watching, the more taste you will get.
This is a very great film that didn't deserve so many haters

The film explores various themes most notably how the feeling of powerlessness can be a corrupting force. I'm sure you are familiar with the phrase "Power corrupts" however in this film we see how the feeling of powerlessness can blind one, lead one down a dark path and leave one open to manipulation.

As with all modern Zack Snyder films BvS is filled with symbolism as well as artistic and interesting visual storytelling. For the fans of the source material there are also tons of Easter eggs to be discovered throughout the film. There are fascinating details in every scene.

The film does not spoon-feed the audience. If you pay attention to the dialogue, audio, props, shot composition and symbolism of objects then you can come to appreciate the majestic achievement that this film is.

Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot both did a fantastic acting job, and Ben Affleck did a pretty good job as well, though he wasn’t as good a Batman as Michael Keaton was in Batman and Batman Returns (as of this writing, I have not seen the Dark Knight trilogy, so I can not compare Ben Affleck to Christian Bale yet). The special effects were outstanding, on par with the rest of the DCEU. I loved the tension between the two titular characters, as well as the surprise ending! I loved how Wonder Woman appeared in it. My personal favorite scenes were these: the warehouse scene with Batman fighting all of Lex Luthors men it was great, another scene I loved is with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman fight Doomsday, just phenomenal. This scene is by far the best scene and best fight scenes I've seen in movies was of course the fight between Batman and Superman. It's such a good fight they both get beat up, I liked Batmans tactics with his smoke bomb and using his Kryptonite gun to weaken Superman I like Superman literally beating Batman up and tossing him everywhere it was just awesome! I liked the end of the fight as when Batman throws Superman down a whole balcony to the bottom level of the building and soon he grapples him and swings him, really damaging Superman, and as expected, Batman wins the fight and right at the end Bats gets his Kryptonite javelin and almost kills Supes when Supes says that "they're (Lexs men) are going to kill Martha Kent" who is Supes human mother and the name Martha is Bruce mothers name (Batman is obviously Bruce Wayne) and Bats yells at Supes and that to me was a touching scene as Batman had a tough childhood losing his parents and this scene makes you feel sorry for Batman. The actors who played these characters, phenomenal, every one fitted their role they were all great. I think Zack Snyder did a great job with this movie and I'm giving this movie a definite 9/10. Comapre to The Theatrical version This is Literally a Masterpiece!
The Technical aspects the zack's style and theme specially the batman's dark and slowmotioned scenes of past they were epic. The music was Art the epicness and calmness was amazing to hear, The story was considerebly better and the missing parts from the original cut clearly covers alot things to make this movie Amazing, The 1st half's buildup and politics and the 2nd half's fights it was awesome, The original cut lacks the buildup of certain scenes this version makes some moments fleshedout amazingly with that, the Use of Lex Luthor in this cut is brilliant compare to the original where he felt like a side character,In this Version his motivations and toying with both superman and batman was amazing and the acting was meancingly awesome, the hate game between both superman and batman and lex luthor firing the shots at them and overall Politics stuff from start until the court room scene was awesome and the blast felt impact in this cut. The justice league build up in 2nd half and the jail sequence of Lex with Bat it was literally Class The music with the painting of devil it was literally awesome. The ending was usual to original cut but the Overall feeling of the Movie is Changed alot it felt Epic and Awesome.

A lot of viewers including myself didn't like it at the first time viewing it.
But even back then I would give this a 6.

However, once you clear you mind and watch it with a neutral mindset, I think BvS has successfully balance the realistic and deep story telling & original comic recreation.
This I don't think even MCU had successfully found the balance.
Having this depth of a plot while telling the comic's story is not an easy task.

BvS is flawed, but I think it is a great try for making comic characters feel ALIVE, REAL, RELATABLE.
Watching Man of Steel and BvS together will makes you feel like these are the superhero movies we should have been getting all these time.

In context with all the other movies in the DCEU it's the absolute core of what makes that cinematic universe great. Hopefully the Sender Cut of Justice League fullfills the storyline.

This is something different, which I like, but understand that many do not. This is no longer the Batman we once knew and not jet the Superman we love. The political thriller like script by Chriss Terrio is captivating, the tension is felt throughout the movie, amplified by the incredible score by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL. Thanks to costume designer Michael Wilkinson, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman have never looked better, and the latter has the best superhero introduction of all time. Not the easiest movie to digest, but I recommend for everyone to check it out and make up his/her mind about it. Snyder most certainly dares to be different and on the long run history will reward him for it. Expand
