They just kept me guessing at what I was seeing. I liked the three Christian Bale Batman movies, hated Superman Returns, but I love this movie. I'm very much anxious to see another "DC Universe" flick. The tease of seeing just a glimpse of Aquaman, Cyborg, and others was the cherry on this sundae. Expand

If you are a comic book fan, one JL tie-in will shock both you and a major character into flipping out, while another acknowledgement of an old factoid is one of the strongest emotional moments in a comic book movie.

Batman is finally made real and you will see why he is driven to do what he does. Superman is put through the emotional wringer. Wonder Woman is awesome. Brings a fresh but weird take on Lex, whose genius is a product of trial and error rather than a master plan and who sees immensely strong beings as a personal affront to his bastion of knowledge based power. Supporting actors are great, especially Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter while Laurence Fishburne has fun.

BvS is not a perfect movie. It suffers from some bad pacing, too many flashbacks/dreams and shoehorned in plot elements for a sequel.

That being said, its not a bad movie either. Its good on a technical level. Its shot well and has fleshed out characters, deep thought provoking messages about hope, humanity and redemption and it sticks extremely close to comic books that I grew up with, namely The Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween and The Death of Superman.

Themes and plot elements are used throughout the movie from these comic books and fans of these books will be ecstatic to see panels lifted straight from the comics and placed on the silver screen.

That being said, this movie may be and early Christmas for older fans, new batman and superman fans may be put off by the deeper, darker and more violent themes of the movie. Its easy to see why younger fans of the comic book heroes, or even people who have grown to love the newer takes on the characters, may no longer be open to this interpretation of the characters. But that's what this is, another interpretation, one that I loved dearly.

I can rest happy now that MY ideal Batman vs Superman has been on the silver screen, regardless that so many people seem to dislike it.

Zack Snyder's comic book movies feel like they make fidelity to the source material a priority and that they're made by people who read and appreciate the material from which they're based. I would describe BvS in this way; imagine if someone made a movie of Superman and the Legion of Superheroes (Action Comics #858-863) and tried to stay as close to the material as possible. That movie, I think, would kind of move and feel the same way BvS does. There are moments when the movie moves fast, others when it slows down, but they all build on each other and in the end we're left with human characters and their frailties. There's a Batman on a crusade who must face his own demons at a really tense moment in the film. A Wonder Woman who has been fighting the good fight for a long time and has her own back story and raison d'etre. And a Superman who struggles to do the right thing and sometimes can't manage to. They come together in the final battle and it's pretty awesome. I don't usually enjoy comic book movies, but I find Snyder's films enjoyable. I can't wait to get it on Blu Ray. Expand

Im failing to understand how reviewers have ended up giving it a 44 metacritic (At the time or writing); Cause this isnt anywhere near that level movie. Maybe they need to start giving themselves a structure to follow, five categories each with 20 points e.g. story, effects, acting, music and misc as they have not done the movie justice with there reviews.

What do you expect from a superhero movie? It's not rocket science, you should definitely see some ridiculous stuff; but that doesn't mean the movie was bad. Action scenes especially, i liked it. We can divide this movie into two parts; first they portrayed the real world's hunger for a godlike superhero and in the second part which was an action salad, they fed the audience. Those parts completed each other. Yes, I saw some idiotic scenes too, but I'm telling again. This movie isn't bad in my opinion. Affleck proved himself as Batman. Can't wait to see the next movie!! With a film like this it's difficult to consolidate the negative with the positive, simply because it seems like the problems the naysayers have with the film are not overly concerning those who love the film. I'm part of the latter.

The issues raised with pacing, editing, character investment, and length are all justified. These issues are indeed present in the film, however I take issue with the degree in which these issues have been raised and just how severe they really are.

The film is 2 hours, 31 minutes long. The slightly higher than average run time is warranted due to the fact that the film is indeed trying to set up the new DC cinematic universe but that's where any argument in favor of negative view of "catch up to Marvel" should end. The length of the film isn't to establish a universe so much as it is to allow to spend time in one that you never knew was there.

Anyone who's seen the film could tell you simply because of who Batman is, along with what the other Meta humans (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash) have been up to. This isn't world building so much as it is world introduction.

The issues with pacing and editing are also present but like the argument before, it's presence or lack thereof isn't something worth throwing out the baby with the proverbial bath water. Zack Snyder knows all too well that time is his enemy and setting up the set pieces for the closed story arch is important because unlike other super hero "films" this one stands alone better than most. The question is should the film be poo pooed on because it decided to walk the line of brisk pacing in a select group of scenes? Truth is that while the pacing and editing could be counted as reasons to nitpick the film they never become so offensive as faults to have become warranted reasons to disregard what's being presented.

BvS is one of the greatest super hero films if all time, up there with the first Avengers, The Dark Knight, and a few others because it walked the tightrope critics bashed it for simply attempting it, and because of it's aim for the stars delivered an engrossing, deep, ideological film staring two of the oldest, most storied super heroes we know and it did it better than it has ever been do so far.

This film is a classic, and you owe it to yourself to ignore those that say they know anything and everything about film to see it for yourself and enjoy a healthy serving of fine cinema not offered in other super hero offerings.

Cheers!

This film had a lot of checkboxes and managed to tick off most of them. Re-starting the Batman franchise, following up on the events of MoS, introducing Wonder Woman and a number of other Justice League characters. It can get a little choppy at times, but I found it very enjoyable and would watch again.

It's gorgeous, if dark. Although somehow not as bleak as Dark Knight Rises was. Cavil continues good work as Superman, Affleck is surprisingly great as the new Batman, and Gal Gadot does good work with a too-limited role. Jessie Eisenberg does a fantastic job as Lex Luthor.

One of the problems is too many characters—there's not enough time for most. It would be nice if the writers could figure out a character for Perry White, as in MoS, Laurence Fishburne is mostly wasted here. Lois Lane could also use some more characterization.

Also better than MoS is the fight choreography/CGI, specifically the end sequence.

The movie was thoroughly enjoyable and did not feel too long. Not once did I glance at my watch. As for acting performances, I thought Affleck did a really good job with Batman. Definitely a far more physical and grittier version than Bale's. The one quibble I have was that the "Doomsday" character felt like cheesy CGI and is the type of battle we've seen before. Thought Snyder used this movie well to set up a future DC "Universe". My two friends both had the same immediate reaction as I did, namely why did the critics hate this move that badly? Let me start by saying, I see why this movie has gotten bad reviews from many, but the movie is incredible and here is why:

There are many scenes that can confuse your average movie-goer. This is because the movie requires some prior DC universe knowledge to fully comprehend what you are seeing. having a large DC comics collection and being a major fan of the DC universe I had no problem with this.

Now I know you're saying " Well shouldn't movies explain scenes like?" In most cases yes, however if they took the time to explain all of those details now the movie would be several hours longer. I won't mention which scenes I'm talking about but if you've seen it you will know.

So this movie is a movie that plays like a comic book almost. It is actually made for the fans of DC comics. Why is this good? Often movie studios don't give the kind of creative control to directors to let them make movies that require some prior knowledge (but Snyder also did this with Watchmen), but the fact that it was made this way will make the lore and story much deeper and connected. Many off the things you saw will make sense when the Justice League and Wonder Woman movies come out respectively. Directors have a choice: They can make a movie that appeals to the largest group of people, or a movie that appeals to the fans of the actual source material, Zack chose the later and I'm glad he did. If you want a crash course in some DC lore I recommend watching some of the animated films like Justice League: War.

Other than that notion: Batman was a total badass, superman had depth, the batmobile and batwing were incredible. Wonder Woman was awesome and against popular opinion I even liked Jesse Eisenberg's iteration of Lex Luthor.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and will definitely be seeing it again. If you don't know much about DC, study up on the DC universe if you like that sort of thing and it makes the movie that much better, but even if you don't the movie is cool as ****

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A spectacular epic journey into the emerging world of DC Comics! Great special effects and acting. Although this movie was great it did have it's flaws but it wasn't in the story but the editing and pacing. It started off really good in both story and pacing, then the pace slowed down and the stories and editing got erratic, and then it picked up and went all out action! I have always been a fan of Zach Snyder but this time his use of colorless cameras and erratic editing really ruined what could have been both a fan's and critic's masterpiece. Anyone who gives this movie a zero or one is just a DC hater and not a real film fan. Ben Affleck is the Batman we have been waiting for and Gal Gadot was great as Wonder Woman. This was the perfect set up for the Justice League and the DCEU. The way the movie introduced Aqua-man, the Flash, and Cyborg was genius and have me wanting more, luckily Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman will give us a chance to see this new DCEU without being under Zach Snyder's directing. Here's hoping Snyder really takes his criticisms to heart (not all of them are legit but some are) and really does something to improve his films. I know these films are supposed to be dark and gloomy but enough with the special lenses and dull picture. WHy can't we have a nice crisp but dark tone for these types of movies? The battles between Batman and Superman and between Doomsday and the Trinity was some of the best action in any movies I've seen, worth the price of admission. You just have to slog through the middle 45 minutes or so to get from the beginning to that point. People compare these movies to Marvel but that is not a fair comparison. DC has the guts to take their characters to places that Marvel won't dare to go. Sure it hurts in the box office, but there has to be a middle ground to make it work and I am not sure if Zach Snyder is the man to do it. Overall a very good movie, both is story and action. I give it a nine ouf of 10 because the action scenes, acting, and overall story outweigh the bad editing and color problems. I suggest someone go see it twice to really enjoy what could have been the greatest superhero movie of all time! Maybe the Blu-ray edition will correct some of these problems, probably not but I can still wish. Expand

Confusion shouldn't be a deterrent,Batman v Superman is the perfect example why these no name critics are an absolute joke. While the movie isn't perfect...it's probably the truest comic book film to date from the visuals to the "confusion". Confusion shouldn't be a deterrent, confusion is the best part of any comic book story and people forget that. This movie isn't for those who like a clear cut story...this is a comic book...on film.

The audience, as a 75% majority vote this 4/5 or higher on average. This is a comic book movie that, thanks to Zak Synder's style, also looks and feels that way. It breaks away from the campy, Disney Princess garbage that was taking over the industry after The Dark Knight trilogy.

Lots of people will say, 'Zak ruined this' or 'Just trying to copy Nolan'. They are wrong. There were a ton of legendary writers and producers on this film. You can credit the visual beauty of the film to Zak though. The film literally feels like you are inside of a comic book...and the whole movie is that...a COMIC BOOK film.

It probably does the best job capturing Bruce Wayne/Batman in his elder years, Ben Affleck absolutely NAILS it. Ben Affleck was a perfect choice. Phenomenal performance. You can definitely tell Ben Affleck was serious about this role and you'll easily get lost in his portrayal.

Same goes for Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman...holy buns does she almost steal the show. We all were skeptical about Wonder Woman, but what a way to introduce her to the big screen. It's been too long and now that its finally here: Well freaking done!

Superman...well you're not going to get the campy boy scout anymore. The film does mention it, but this is more of telling Superman that the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Now the movie isn't perfect. I said this. It does get confusing because it is setting up a huge universe. Those little parts that are confusing are likely parts you should watch again...because if you ever read a comic book before, the confusing parts are actually the best parts.

On top of all that, this movie is called 'DAWN OF JUSTICE' for a reason. Critics don't understand that. They expect dozens of films to explain stuff that is already part of our culture for decades (almost a century now). A real comic book fan can appreciate this film, it's visually stunning and compelling. Any confusion is exactly what you'd feel when you read a comic book, you'll be itching for the next issue.

Forget the critics. Listen to the audience...the fans. This movie is absolutely amazing.

Pros: Ben Affleck is the BEST batman to date, he was brutal and fast, he 'literally' killed it ;) Gal Gadot was amazing as Wonder Woman and was pure Bad Ass, Cavill as Superman was once again great and i can't believe i'm gonna say this but Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was fantastic, he was intimidating, insane and a genius that manipulates the plot magnificently. The action was some of the best i have seen in any comic book movie especially the Batman V Superman fight. The story was great and was well written, props to Chris Terrio. The Cameos were great and didn't feel shoehorned in imo, the Flash cameo blew my mind.

Now for the bad. The first half was a bit of a mess, editing was weird and pacing was a little off. Sorry but i just don't trust Zack Snyder with JL, the script was great but he just couldn't piece it together, but to his credit the visuals were amazing. I don't like how Lois was conveniently everywhere, it was quite irritating that she was shoved in every scene.

Overall a great movie, don't trust the critics on this one, you need to see it for yourself, who cares if it's not like a Marvel movie, they are great but DC is taking a different approach and people need to accept that.

Snyder's approach is one of solemn reverence, showcasing comicbook characters in a mature and grounded fashion, not attempted before, (or since), on screen. The sheer emotional gravitas with which Snyder envisions the subject matter, and the complexity in his use of art and literary analysis, may not be palatable for the general audience, but pays homage to the some of the most iconic tales in the DC Universe, thus transcending to the status of cinema. This movie was one of the best me and my kids have been to in a long time. The plot wasn't hard to follow, the acting was superb, the action was intense. Affleck's Batman is by far my favorite. Dark, angry, brooding, paranoid, and profoundly dangerous. Cavill's Superman is sometimes a bit too internally conflicted, but the guy fits the suit well and they did a great job in this movie of developing the chemistry between he and Lois. I didn't read a bunch of comic books as a kid so I don't know what story lines are pissing off what people, but I do know this movie was very entertaining. This is a movie worth seeing, and I can't wait for Justice League. Did Snyder personally take a dump on all these critics front porches at some point in history? There is no explanation for this much hate. This movie is a triumph. Go see it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really enjoyed the movie - felt true to the characters, and did a great job of foreshadowing the larger metahuman world out there. Much prefer this interpretation to the sanitized world depicted in marvel movies. Would have liked more of the b v s fight, but even in the book, that wasn't a large number of panels - the years since have made the battle larger. Affleck well conveys the psychotic rage that would have to drive someone willing to do what the batman does. Don't get the anti-doomsday crowd at all. The lead-up to DD was a little rushed, but overall made sense in context. WW was awesome, wish they had kept that more of a surprise, but can't wait to see her movie, and felt she was an effective part of this one. Expand

I would agree the characters' arguments and feelings could have been given more time, but other than that everything is superb. The music, the acting, the aesthetics, and most of all the story. I'm convinced this movie receives low scores because it gives so much to think about, without telling you what to think. Other minor flaws are in the film. The subtle plot-based comedy is great too. I found this movie to be thrilling with a lot of people fighting for something, each person with a different topic. Also, I hated Lex Luthor's actor in the trailers, but loved him in the movie. I just took my son and we had a blast - there is much to like here. There is the initial storyline of batman versus superman, then it gets better by introducing many new DC superhero characters (including the amazing Wonder Woman). The atmosphere throughout is dark, with little comedic lines to break up the drama and action - but that is better than cheesy lines that distract from the seriousness of the movies. I applaud the director, Zack Snyder, as this had to be a very difficult task for him and his team - they did a great job and I look forward to many more DC movies to come. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Do not listen to the critics, people! They are indeed wrong yet again. Just look at the difference between the critics and the users (aka fans) scores---a 44 and a 7.4 (as of the time of this review's writing). Clearly, something weird is going on here. Yes, the film does have a few minor flaws but nowhere near enough to carry it to even a 70.

The casting and characters in this movie are fantastic. Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg are the ones that really shine in their roles, though Henry Cavill is great as well. And regarding Affleck, I found that his Batman is one that will definitely fit this version of the DC Universe and the voice is a huge improvement over Christian Bale's, though in other areas, I found Bale's Batman to elicit much more sympathy and be an all-around more engaging character. But who knows? Maybe Affleck's Batman will top Bale's in the upcoming standalone film.

The plot does take quite a while to get going, but it's not what I would consider a drag. Other movies have fared much worse in terms of slow starts. The only problem I had with the beginning is that I wasn't sure who I was supposed to be rooting for. Perhaps if I had seen Man of Steel, some of the plot points would've been more clear and it would've been obvious I was supposed to be going for Superman, but it was kinda foggy for me. Other than that, I really had no problems with the beginning and middle, as we were introduced to Eisenberg's unique yet solid Lex Luthor and became more familiar with other members of the cast, such as Amy Adams' Lois Lane and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

The actual ending battle sequence of the movie was simply spectacular. There were some parts that looked a little too CGI (i.e.: the "birth" of Doomsday and the part when Superman was healed in space) but overall, I found it to be enjoyable, engaging, and necessary. Some people felt that Doomsday was shoved into this film, which I disagree with. This is probably due to the fact that I went into the film with low expectations after looking at the critics' scores but Doomsday was both well set-up and masterfully executed in my opinion. He could've looked a little closer to the comics, though (and like SethGrey said, Lex's motives in the end were unclear).

Lastly, I found Hans Zimmer's score to be extremely unmemorable though I did manage to pick out some parts in which it sounded remarkably similar to his work on The Bible TV miniseries, so I liked those bits. I wouldn't be able to tell you a part where the music blew me away though. I also think that the title pretty much makes no sense. The "Dawn of Justice" part, maybe, but the "Batman v Superman"? Absolutely not. I think having the film being named simply "Dawn of Justice" would've been better, though that is admittedly rather weak as well.

In the end, I found Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to be a great film, much better than the critics would have you believe. The main issue with the film is a slightly slow middle section but even that can't bog down the wonderful casting and characters, as well as the plot itself and the ending sequence. This movie really made me get excited for the rest of the DC Comics Cinematic Universe.

I loved it! This is one of those movies where I would dump the critics and go watch.

This film is dark. Really dark. Batman not an all moral character in this movie. He hurts people and he shoots them too, but that's the intention. The film is meant to make you question the brutality of superheroes. I know we all love the comic book and cartoon version of the Batman who can kick every bodies ass without shooting a bullet, but the reality of the film is that he just can't do that all the time. At some point he has to shoot back, and, yes, bad people will die. In his defense, Batman doesn't kill any good people. That burden is placed on Superman.

This entire movie hinges on a line that Alfred delivers, "Men become monster when they feel powerless". Batman felt powerless in the presence of Superman and is hell bend on killing him.

I must also mention that Wonder Woman is beautiful, and Ben as Batman is a much better pick than I had originally thought.

I honestly don't understand why it's catching so much flak. Sure, there was a lot going on, but it wasn't hard to understand what was happening throughout the movie nor was it hard keep up with, it was just a lot. BvS was one big set up for many of DCs future upcoming films and I never found it to be a distraction or ruined the pace imo. I was aware of what was going on from beginning to end and I loved every minute of it. Superman was good. Lex was a master manipulator. Wonder Woman was as bad ass as advertised. Batman was fantastic and the action and battle scenes were pretty damn epic imo. Speaking of Batman, I own and love the trilogy and have watched them several times. That being said, I think that this version of Batman is by far the best iteration of the Batman character yet and also closer represents the comic and animated movie versions imo, and that's a great thing. Don't go into BvS expecting Marvel fluff with cute, quip-py, chuckle-hut one liners. DC is taking things a little more seriously, but in a fun and entertaining way.

Don't trust these so called "critics". These are the same critics that said "The Witch" was the scariest horror movie of the year..... it absolutely was not and those **** owe me money for that piece of crap. No, go see the movie for yourself and judge for yourself. I'm glad I didn't listen to all those idiot critics. BvS was a good movie.

This is a film where all the superhero nerds will love it, while older people will probably enjoy My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 more. I was extremely blown away from the last hour of the film. One of the best hour-long fight sequence I've seen in a long time! The performances were all superb, in particular Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, and Jesse Eisenberg. The only "flaw" with this film is the first hour or so was a bit boring and dragging, just to introduce the characters of course. However, the last hour of the film is emotional, violent, entertaining, and visually stunning. If you've seen the trailers, you probably seen a major portion of this film. However, the film is still very entertaining and I was visually stunned. I think you have to see Man of Steel first in order to fully understand what is happening in this film. If you had expected Batman v Superman, than that is what you will get. Now about wonder woman - she is fine and pretty, but she was barely in this film, like around 15 minutes. Also, doomsday was okay if you've seen the trailer, that's just what he looked like. There is however a major plot twist that did feel a bit rushed, however I still enjoyed it. I hope they make a non-cash grab sequel to this film, and Henry Cavill/Ben Affleck should make another movie together. (93/100) Expand

Now I am not a fan of DC or of any character within their works; I however, am familiar with them.

I saw this movie tonight and made a few expectations to what might happen throughout the movie; even through moments many consider unexpected as I'm the kind of guy that does think outside the box, though I won't spoil anything here.

Most of the reviews you find from other "professional" critics would be mixed to negative and positive from the fans, even on Metacritic. What I thought of this movie was that it was thought out well and has made many points of the movie worth seeing; it's Batman versus Superman, the 'God versus Man' scenario that long-time fans have been waiting for and I guarantee you will not be disappointed at all with this movie if you're one of them.

However, not everything is flawless as one or two points of this movie has those moments; you'll catch on as it goes along, but those flaws are why the score is a 9 out of 10. By all means, this is a great movie; it has a collection of great actors like Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot; the CGI used is mind-blowing and the story has its many moments of surprises which caught me off-guard and that can only happen within well-written movies, games and TV shows.

Many reviews of the fans, both positive and negative I can agree on and why they thought of this but this short review of mine (if you can call it short) makes a summary of what was the best and worst moments of this movie.

Some may even think that the new Batsuit is a terrible design or that Ben Affleck isn't the greatest actor to fill the role of Bruce Wayne, but in all honesty, as long as this incarnation of Batman screams the "I am vengeance, I am the knight" pose, I'm fine with that.

So what I'm really trying to say here is watch the movie yourself, even if you're a fan or not of the Justice League; it is what some were waiting for and what were given is something that I consider a great constructive movie.

(Hated Avengers 2 FTR) An excellent second installment into growing the DC universe. While I do understand that many traditionalists might have issues with heroes killing off villains, I think maintaining character expectation of pure untainted goodness overcoming a hostile world full of evil armies with heavy artillery and nukes all while never taking a life is both corny and unrealistic.
Wonder Woman is way cooler than I ever remember the character being. Batman, rugged and dark. Superman uber but still holds onto some of his purity.

My gripes:
Lex Luthor was a young whiney psychopath that happened to have a scientific mind. Far less sophisticated than earlier representations of Lex.
Doomsday (The badass of all badasses) was wasted by being deployed and destroyed so early in the saga. My thoughts also the same for Superman’s demise…. Again too early. The following implication of a resurrection, also too early. The movie was greatly harmed by wasting great long term assets for short term gains.
A definite must see if you’re not looking for the 100% traditional incarnation of these characters.

There are two ways to criticize this movie. 1. Compare it with Disney's Marvel and complaint that this movie lacks the colors, quips and fun tone of the MCU. 2. Actually review the movie by itself and the universe its set in.

I am going to go with number 2 way of reviewing it since all the "critics" from clickbait article websites chose to review this movie using method 1. Batman v Superman couldve been a perfect sequel to a perfect Superman movie(Man of Steel). It still is except for few minor imperfections and crazy casting of Jesse Eisenberg and Gal Gadot. Likes:

* Casting: Ben Affleck as Batman and that warehouse fight scene.
* Best Batman ever and those who say Nolan's Batman, just pick a Batman comic fromm your nearest comicbook store
* Superman's unconventional but true to comics portrayal
* Philosophical take on Superheroes
* Hans Zimmers score (I personally believe he shouldve won oscars for this movie)
* Atmosphere of the movie.
* Cinematography
* Zacks understanding of both Batman and Superman characters and the mythos. ( Pseudo fans might disagree just because they read a couple of Batman comics or read somewhere that Batman doesnt kill or Superman doesnt brood. He explores these characters very well and portrayed it fantastically in the movie).
* Lex Luthor's perspective on Superman.
* Every scene is shot like a beautiful painting by itself.
* The opening and ending scenes.
* Importance of human characters and their perspective on Superman.

Dislikes:

* Jesse as Lex Luthor.
* 3rd act seemed rushed. The titular fight scene shouldve taken place during the second act.
* Doomsday couldve looked better.
* Cameos of Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg couldve been avoided.
* Wonder Woman casting.

These are some of my genuine opinions on this movie. I do not understand how this movie is called mysogynistic or panned for having too much masculinity, too much destruction count as reviews by "professional critics". This is a serious movie and when people blame Zack for riding on the success of Nolan's The Dark Knight, guess what Nolan literally pitched the realistic, emotional Superman (Man of Steel movie) to Zack Snyder. Nolan trusted Zack Snyder would be the only director to translate the true mythos of DC universe to screen after watching Watchmen and 300.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. FAAAR better movie than critics would like you to believe, but first I'm going to list out pro and cons:

Pros:

#Ideological conflict between the all powerful and the all knowing is been displayed.

#Lex Luther is better than many of his comic iterations. Intelligent but a psychotic billionaire who is on the same side of the spectrum of power knowledge as Batman. His transformation from a rich billionaire wanting to keep Earth "safe" from aliens to a totally hysteric villian echoes Alfred's comment about how powerlessness can make one evil. In the end, he becomes a powerless version of Donald Trump.

#Batman. Because goddamn Batman! He is considerably more violent that nearly all of his comic iterations. He is more like a battle hardened marine who has a keen eye for truth and ability to foretell future. His dream sequences are hints to what might be coming next. The much maligned scene where Batman decides to not kill Superman because of common mother's name is predictably misinterpreted. Bruce was seeing superman as an all powerful alien to risky to live, just like a nuclear warhead waiting to blow up. But as soon he realizes that he has a mother, that behind that impenetrable skin lives a human like him what makes him realize his folly.

#CGI is very decent unlike people would like to believe. It perfectly renders the larger than life supernatural powers that are Superman, Wonderwoman and Doomsday, clashing with each other. The Bruce vs Clarke fight is relatively tame and "realistic" but is alright because Superman is attacked with cryptonite gas, twice.

#Finally we get to see Wonder Woman live action and the god that lives behind that armor.

#Sweet sweet justice league cameos by both Flash and Aquaman.

#The DCEU vibe is there as well as the Injustice and Frank Miller undertone.

Cons:

#Bit lengthy but that wouldn't matter if you're instantly hooked at the premise.

#Alfred's father figure role wasn't properly discovered.

#There are too many mysteries than remain unsolved which makes me already want the Director's cut.

WELL DONE ZACK SNYDER. BvS is a fantastic movie by all propositions if you are fan of movies that are dark and toy with ideas. If you are here for Marvel like gags and fun break, you're out of luck. This movie is not for you.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I could write a extensive review addressing some of the very asinine reasons people hate this film, instead I will sum up most of my review with the following statement: the reason why BvS has been so negatively received is because everyone, critics included, was expecting a Marvel film with DC characters.

This film isn't easily digestible, it uses subtlety to tell parts of its story (where all the 'poor editing' complaints come from), it's layered with symbolism and poses philosophical questions to the viewer, and it's tone is serious like a film of this nature SHOULD be. People say that this film is 'boring' and 'joyless' because there is a lot of dialogue. Unlike Marvel that treats its films and heroes as spectacles and cartoons, where all the death and destruction is easily glossed over or drowned out by an almost campy, inappropriate tone this movie takes itself very seriously like it's SUPPOSED to.

Should there be a lot of jokes in a movie about a super-powered alien who's come to Earth, greeted by a cynical and suspicious human population that seems to be both in awe and fear of him, while the world contemplates the limits of his power and the good-nature of his intentions. Where a troubled and disillusioned Bruce Wayne, having succumbed to the world's cynicism, becomes fixated on the task of killing Superman, who he hardly considered human.

This Batman's idealism had been long snuffed out. His mansion's a wreck, he drinks a lot, he brands and kills criminals, Robin is dead, Barbara is in a wheelchair, Gotham is still a crap-hole after twenty plus years of beating up criminals. Do you think this Batman is going to just sit down and accept that this alien is going to stay good forever. Batman as a character is incredibly paranoid. And as for his no-kill rule, do you really think after all that's happened he'd still so strictly abide by that moral standard? If you think about it, just how realistic is it to begin with? He has no qualm killing criminals, he'll have even less of issue killing someone he doesn't even consider human.

Even the opening scene where the bats lift him up into the light is an allegory for Bruce's journey as Batman. The Bats and the persona of the Batman save him from the despair ushered from his parent's death by giving him a purpose and hope that he can change Gotham, but ultimately leads him nowhere. That's why he refers to it as a 'false light' and 'beautiful lie' if you pay attention to the opening dialogue.

The biggest theme and question of the movie is "Are men still good? Can they stay good in a world full of evil and cynicism?" Batman after his long career now brutalizes/kills criminals. When Superman is faced with an ultimatum, he states that "no one stays good in this world". Will the world also push him to the brink and make a monster out of him, like when Lex forces him to fight Batman or his mother will die. The film does heavily foreshadow a possible Injustice story-line.

Is the film perfect? No. There are plot holes, but not as many as other 'successful' films. They just appear more evident because of the serious tone. Doomsday's introductions was too rushed, the scene where Superman tells Batman to save Martha could've been stretched out a bit more for a movie that's almost three hours long (it was a profound moment regardless), and Lois Lane's romance with Clarke feels very forced, and unnatural. Also this movie doesn't stand on its own and plays out as if the viewer is already familiar with the DC universe and its heroes. The dream sequence and flash cameo flew over critics and casuals' heads because of this. Where Marvel makes a bigger effort to reel in new fans, this film instead decided to pander to the existing DC fanbase.

Really, despite being marketed to Mars and back, the movie can really only be appreciated by a small group of people. Kids won't be able to appreciate this film and most adults won't really be expecting a superhero film to be as mature and deep as this (yes, I believe this movie has depth). Even DC purists will be turned off by Snyder's imperfect, flawed and humanized versions of Batman and Superman that could exist in the real world. Going back to the expectations people had towards this movie, they are the biggest factor in this movie's critical down fall. If you go to buy a cheeseburger and are expecting a cheeseburger, but get a chicken sandwich or something you will be pissed. Hence this movie's undeserved poor ratings.

There were some minor things I didn't like, like the casting of Luthor, but other than that, I felt the movie was really good. I also enjoyed Ben Afleck as Batman, which I know was one of the main things people were worried about, going in. Expand

Wonderwoman is great and as a female hero is also...awesome

What I dislike about this movie is the plot line. It's not that it has plot holes, it's that it is heavily condensed. It feels like DC or whoever is in charge is forcing script writers to jump the gun on "project justice league". Really, the amount of plot lines makes the viewer feel less attached to characters than they should be.

With that said, I think the movie is 8 out of 10 or 9 out of 10 depending on whom I talk to.
Please watch it, you wont regret it guys

This movie had my attention from beginning to end. I found myself saying repeatedly what is going to happen next. And when you consider that a lot of the movie focused on the heroes as their alter ego's that is pretty amazing.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was epic, made me laugh, had me emotional. It is hard for me to believe that most of the average movie goers will not have the same experience.

However, once I actually saw this movie it left me with nothing but smiles. This film was filled with amazing fights, a great soundtrack and an overall feel of a well made superhero movie that many studios such as marvel are missing in some of their films. Some people believe that there were elements to the movie that were not needed and that the studio tried to fit too much into a single movie. I too had such a fear, but after seeing the events told I thought the movie had a great setup and then a great conclusion. While this film may not please everyone with exact copies of moments from the comics, the film did provide the events with only slight changes that I found exciting. And while certain members of the cast might not seem like a perfect fit to the characters(Jesse Eisenburg as Lex Luthor) all actors/actresses were great fits for this film's version of those iconic characters. Do not listen to the big name critics this time, go see the movie for yourself and I believe that even if you don't love it you will think that it was a lot better than what they are saying about it. But I had to see this film being the superhero nerd that I am and especially with all the discussion surrounding it...and like most things in life, the hype doesn't live up to expectations. I don't mean the hype of BvS, I mean the hype that the media used to get you to click on their pages with headlines like "Critics Slam BvS". There's nothing significantly wrong with this film. It's entertaining, feels realistic, paced well, and not dumbed down. I could see ratings in the 7-9 range being the most accurate. I decided on a 9 since 8.5 isn't an option. There's little things here and there that are a little silly (a blinking location tracker for instance that you wouldn't want to blink if you're trying to keep it hidden from the bad guys and so on) but again, nothing too out of sorts. It did take me awhile to warm up to Jesse's portrayal of Lex, but the movie built his character up as the film went on with little phrases that were easy to miss, yet made his character much more believable. I was also worried about any Lex being in another Superman film, but this style of Lex (almost like Ledger's Joker) was much more cruel, conniving, and brilliant. He was much more of a real adversary to Superman than Kevin Spacey ever was. Anyway, I am pumped about the DC universe and even though I stopped buying Blu Rays a long time ago, I am purchasing this film. Lastly, I will say that one possible divisive part of the movie (that I enjoy but could see turning off casual viewers) was that the easter eggs (if that's what you want to call them) weren't just little things in the background or little verbal quips, they were more direct and up front, which could confuse those who don't know the DC universe and its famous stories over the years. But again, being a superhero nerd, I thought that part of the film was awesome and felt like someone was finally making a movie for me. Expand

I was entertained and everything was basically Top Gear cinematography quality.

So is there really in a place in the world for movie critics still? I can not understand how they are slating this movie? But, at least the box office return and fan fare are proof enough that this is going to be a cult classic. Can't wait for the extended Batman vs. Superman. Entertaining and brilliant.

The first time I watched it I felt it was heavy, "as a tank driven with a crank-set" I said when I left the theater; the second time was smoother. Now I'm craving for a third.
Is it a fun movie? Not at all. Is it a good movie? I still don't know. Is it a generative movie? We'll see. Is it a movie you should watch? Yes, definitely; even if you've never read a single comic book. This movie appeals to the deeply rooted knowledge that we have for just living in this era.
Fascism, authoritarianism, discrimination, distrust and the decay of the modern world; but also the hope of redemption in unity and justice.
This movie is a surprising feature in it's own, watch it just because it exists and, most of all, because you will be amazed for it's beautiful cinematography. Every shot is a picture you could frame.
As I heard a critic quoting Man of Steel "'They'll race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun", that's what this movie is about". I hope that this is what this movie will mean.

When I heard the critics reviews for the film I was worried because I was very excited for this movie. But the movie didn't disappoint I absolutely loved this movie, All the critics can KISS MY ASS! Ben Affleck killed it as Batman he was awesome. Since Im a very big Batman fan I expected him to give a great performance, and he kicks a lot of ass. Henry Cavil did well as Superman, he wasn't as good as Christopher Reeves but he still did well (Still prefer Batman) The Most badass female in this movie is definitely Wonder woman, She was beautiful,Badass, and she knew her way around Batman. I know Some people were not crazy about Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor but in my eyes he did really well. At some parts he over acted a little but in the end he did good, plus he was really creepy at some parts. Amy Adams as Lois Lane did well she came off to much of a damsel in distress. One last thing I have to say is the film is very dark and thats what DC comics, is known for. So If you don't like it because there could of been more laughing moments its understandable. I Think the movie kind of jumped around at some parts but it got so much better and awesome when "Son of Krypton" fought "The Bat of Gotham." One last problem I did not like how Doomsday looked in the film, He looked like a troll had sex with the abomination from The Incredible Hulk. I just wasn't digging it. But over all this film is amazing it was shot beautifully, amazing actors and actresses,Cool ass action. Zack Snyder keep up the good work and thank you for giving us this film. Expand

People are saying about the pacing of the movie.
But like someone have said, the movie works like a comic book.
One scene jump to another, like a comic book where a panel jump to another.
Comics are disjunctive like this movie. And the aesthetic used by Snyder is like that found in cmoic books.
The scenes break abruptly, one jump to another, goes and come, like the panels in the comics

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok so I just got finished watching the flick, and honestly unless you're a winny critic and an actual superhero fan you'll be pleased to know that this movie follows in a great way the comic characters IN WHICH THEY'RE BASED, I read that most "professional reviewers" wouldn't enjoy the the flick because it "was a setup for what's to come" and honestly I felt completely different, yes don't get me wrong they introduce characters like Aquaman, Flash(by the way both of his cameos was amazingly well managed), Cyborg, but as I just mentioned THEY'RE ONLY CAMEOS so yeah that covers my rant about how some people are not fairly criticising the film ,now into the REAL MOVIE, I loved how they managed the whole "Batman Origins in 5 quick minutes" and how they went straight into the action showing how 20 years changed Batman into a more "Break your whole body if you commit crimes" plus the whole "if your were bad I'm going to brand you with a bat symbol so that you get killed in prison system" so you know he's a more different take(in one point you could say collateral damage caused by him got bad guys killed) so yeah I liked this new incarnation of Batman, even thought he sometimes killed... Now Superman... Well I liked how now he's managing the whole Clark Kent and Superman and the same time plus LEX LUTHOR JR. who Jesse Eissenberg did a great job at handling the whole psycho/not psycho situation, now into the fight of fights, well they did a great job(Batman won in a very cheap kryptonite way in my opinion) but at least THERE WAS A WINNER and well at least for me Doomsday looked amazing! Oh and Gal Gadot as WW WAS SIMPLY AWESOME, so yeah if you like comics(DC specially) I highly recommend go seeing this movie and don't worry Superman's just in a coma a kryptonian one *wink* *wink* I give this flick a solid 9/10 Expand

I thought Affleck did great. i LOVED gal gadot as wonder woman. the way they introduced the other members of the justice league I thought was really well done. It was ALMOST too many things in one movie but it ended up just balancing that line and then fortunately the movie ended. But I think for me the idea of this super jaded 20 year old vet of a Batman was just great. The take they did with him I thought was brilliant. I know alot of people probably wont like the take on Lex Luthor either but I really enjoyed this version of a Brilliant nutjob Billionaire scientist over the calm and collected usual Lex. I am a diehard Marvel guy but this movie I think beat Age of Ultron (which is heartbreaking for me cause im in love with Iron Man/RDJ) and I think will be better than Civil War as well unfortunately. Yes the movie had some issues but it isnt life shattering issues like people are making it out to be. People are just hating on it because it didnt follow exact comic books or "batman was too mean" or whatever you want to say. I liked the takes on the film alot. And i wanted to stand up and APPLAUD the freaking movie in the first 10 mins when one of the BIGGEST issues I had with Man of Steel was basically addressed right in the beginning of the film and was something that was vocalized and analyzed throughout the film which I thought was great. I will say there are some randoms cuts in the film that kinda mess up the flow but it almost feels like a literal comic book brought to life.

Just go watch it for yourself, personally the critics are way too harsh on this film and both fans and audiences are loving it so far. It's easily as good as Age of Ultron if not better. Setting up a whole universe in 1 film was no easy task, but i think Snyder & DC have done it albeit not perfectly but I'm very excited for the future.

To those on the fence about watching this movie, given the poor Rotten

I am a Marvel fan boy. I've seen most of their properties so far, and
they have only gotten better and better at honing their art. Kudos to
them.

DC never really got my attention except for the recent Nolan movies.
Burton piqued my interest. Man of Steel - though divisive - was
entertaining in my book, though I had my fair share of issues with it.

Comics-wise, I've always been more interested in the DC series only
because I think the plot lines were easier to follow, more consistent,
and generally more interesting than Marvel's. Don't shoot me - I'm just
speaking as a casual consumer in that regard.

I went in to BvS with high expectations, despite what I thought were
pretty poorly edited trailers (which did not inspire me to watch this
film, mind you), and not to mention the atrocious Rotten Tomatoes and
Metacritic scores. Suicide Squad looks much better by comparison, and
is the Lego Batman movie. However, I decided to purchase 2 IMAX tickets
(which were criminally expensive at my IMAX theater) because (i) it
would be a good 'date night' with my wife and to have someone take care
of our young daughter tonight; (ii) there are some actors and actresses
in it that I have enjoyed in other movies (i.e. Ben Affleck, Amy
Adams), and I respect most of their work so far though not all are
critically acclaimed.

Zack Snyder wouldn't be the reason why I am watching this. Aside from
Man of Steel, I have only seen his '300' which is strangely hailed as
his best work. Personally, I detested it.

I walked away from BvS with a large smile on my face. The acting was
good - Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg were my personal highlights. I
know some don't like his portrayal of Lex - but my wife found it to be
the highlight. Teetering on the edge between that of a wealthy genius
young entrepreneur and man obsessively manic over the morality of power
-- man could Jesse Eisenberg act.

Ben Affleck is easily one of my favorite Batman depictions to date.
Christian Bale's best take on the Dark Knight was in Batman Begins when
Nolan had time to flesh out the character. But in none of Nolan's films
was Batman thoroughly depicted as (i) a detective, and (ii) a fighter.
Christian Bale's fight scene against Bane in TDKR was okay – a bit slow
and I did not feel the weight of the punches/kicks (sometimes I wish
that these action films would take note from the Ip Man series). In
this film, I can see why, from the comics, he had the potential to lead
the League of Assassins. Man, did the fight/action scenes deliver.

A side note is that this is easily one of the most visually splendid films I've had the pleasure to watch on IMAX. Don't know what it will be like on a smaller screen, but just on the level of cinematography alone, I was in awe. Much improved over Man of Steel. Larry Fong, well done. Finally, plot. I have heard a lot of criticisms but given this is a spoiler-free, I can't say too much, but hear this: 1. It was not incoherent, but I can see why criticism is warranted. The editing, whilst an improvement from Man of Steel, still could do with some work. More time could be spent on certain plot lines before jumping to another. Personally, I found the different strands easy to follow. 2. I can see why Wonder Woman feels shoe-horned in, as also with the other Easter Eggs which seem to detract from the 'main story'. However, following the original Frank Miller comic which has a sub-text on the 'meta-human' controversy, I can also see why it makes sense to include another 'meta-human' (other than Superman) in this movie but not overcrowd it with anymore. This actually made a lot of sense to me, and feeds into Batman's story arc and character development. 3. This is not a Marvel film, which is riddled with humour to hide the fact that their properties, too, can be light on plot but nevertheless are great entertainment. I found the dark tone fitting, and the occasional levity appropriate. I left the cinema actually still pondering a lot of the serious theological-politico questions raised in the movie which I felt were cleanly and elegantly answered. The answers were not in my face but could be rewardingly reached with some work. 4. This movie has a lot of 'show, don't tell'. Many plots which, I suspect, would be explored in later movies. They are incorporated cleverly, fleeting, and not distracting. If you want distracting plots hammed in for sequels etc, go watch Iron Man 2 and Avengers 2. 5. My plot highlight was the reason why Batman and Superman eventually reconciles. Resonates a lot with me personally. In brief DC has done a great job carving out their own identity with BvS, a tone that was set in motion since (flawed) Man of Steel. My wife (w/o comic book b/g) also enjoyed it immensely - a double win for me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie needs to be seen as a stepping stone to the DC universe that they are just starting to build, in order to properly see it in its full scope. It's not easy setting up future installments while maintaining focus on the original script, and to non-comic fans some of these subplots might come a bit left sided. But to those who know what's coming and what this movie is trying to build every one of those hints where really exciting.
The tone of the movie is what's to be expected from a Snyder movie, it's a style that doesn't appeal to many but it fits the DC comics tone perfectly. Granted, the editing could have seen more work to give the movie a more concise feel, and trying to encapsulate so many famous comic book story arcs into just one movie might not have been the best idea.
But overall there's not a critic in the world that can tell me this is a bad movie that doesn't deserve watching or any praise. Ben Affleck is the perfect rendition of Miller's TDKR's vision of a seasoned, brutal Batman, and most viewers are so shocked by his manslaughter they miss the whole character development. Jeremy Iron's brilliant performance of Alfred clearly shows us he's become cruel, the appearance of Superman drives him to become even more extreme and by the end of the movie Superman's sacrifice inspires him to do something bigger and better.
Gal Gadot simply stole the show, commanding every scene she was in, which was not an easy task considering Ben's performance. All the action scenes were superb, and I may be biased because seeing the Trinity on movie was something I'd never expect to see in my lifetime, but I was at the edge of my seat during both major fight scenes in the movie.

I'll be seeing it again tomorrow for sure, and maybe even a third time a week from now. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, can't wait for Justice League and the expanding of the DCCU.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For the general fun, it is highly recommended. There is the great spectacle made with decent quality of production of these. Fans will leave hardly disappointed to see their favorite heroes fighting and reconciling to face a common enemy, and are constantly presented with a multitude of references that have long. Snyder respect the material and built a relevant work that can change the game market these films. He certainly can not win you the first visit, but with a second chance, is able to let you in love with the work. It happened to me, something I thought impossible to believe. Expand

The set up for the Justice League could've been a little less heavy handed, but the movie was long enough as it was, so I let it go. CGI for Doomsday was awful when he was first introduced, but got better as the scenes wore on and the fight with the Trinity was AWESOME! Overall, some flaws, no doubt, but definitely worth the wait. Do not shoot down this movie without seeing it. The media seems ready to portray it in a negative light, and I really hope that does not convince people one way or another. If you liked Man of Steel or Watchmen then you'll like this movie. The performances were superb, and the cinematography was great. There were some choppy cuts, but I believe that will be resolved in the 3-hour directors cut (too long for theater viewings). If you wanted 5 movies leading up to this (eg. the beginning Marvel movies) then I understand complaining that it feels rushed. But, if you, like many others would rather not wait years for a team-up movie like this, then please realize what this movie had to do to make it work, and understand the comic-centric angle Zack Snyder brought to this piece. Together with the talented cast is the strong and fast-faced storyline which is left no place without the genuine fun of watching a rare superhero movie. Indeed, this is the movie in which you can fulfill all your fantasies about a face-to-face match between two iconic heroes. Clark Joseph Kent aka Superman gets the respect and understanding he deserved. Batman is the strongest point in this fanboy dream film. Undoubtedly, Ben Affleck may become the best Batman on screen for his portrayal of the Caped Crusader here, both physically and emotionally. There is no light-hearted stuff or family-friendly plotlines.. It is all about the starting point of the gathering of DC cinematic universe. There is enough tease for other Justice League members that will make your seat hot. There is a badass but attractive Wonder Woman that you can't help falling in love with. All the action are good, especially the epic war in the final act. It will wet all the fan boys, indeed. And there is an ending that would give you goosebumps and hope, if you stick to the end. **Spoilers**

After seeing this movie twice I went from liking it to loving it!
-I love what they've done with Superman. He's at a point where he sees no matter how much good he does there will always be those who put a spin his deeds. The scene where they had the people on talk shows and only one person says maybe he's not a God or a demon but just a guy trying to do the right thing hit the nail on the head.
-I loved what they did with Lex! His motivation was that he needed to be the one with the power, with meta humans alive especially one like superman he could never have that. Like he says he has all the knowledge of who those beings are but no power over them. Hints the knowledge withought power is paradoxical line. Also it seems like Lex found something out on the kryptonian ship that started driving him little bit insane.
-Lex is able to take over the Kryptonian ship because it still had the master key in it. Remember in Mos Zod says that key has the power to overwrite previous protocols.
-This batman isn't stupid he's just driven and angry and Lex is genius enough to know how to play his emotions just right. So look at it more like Lex is crazy smart just like in the comics.
-I think Batman also misinterpreted the flashes message, and it reinforced he was doing the right thing.
-I love that superman sacrificing himself mad batman re-evaluate how he was doing things and made him feel like he failed the idea superman actually represented.
-Doomsday wasn't the best thing ever but it wasn't so bad it ruined the movie for me. Plus the fight and seeing bats, sups and wonder women working together was AMAZING!
-Was killing superman now any less impactful than it would ever be? Really you know it's not going to be permanent matter when they do it. I think Snyder has some mad balls doing this and the impacts to the story are awesome. Superman's sacrifice is the catalysy to bringing the meta humans together and creating the justice league.
-Wonder Woman was amazing
-Ben Affleck is the best batman

My only real complaint is that you can tell scenes were cut for time. Other than that I'm pumped for what's coming next! 9/10 for me

For me though even though I thought it seemed overlong as it tried to set up the Justice league etc. this was an amazing film and once you see the Batfleck in this in action, there's no going back to the Nolanverse Batman (unless you want to see the best joker in film.. so far) as the fight scenes and aeriel action you see are straight out the comics and that is the Batman I've been waiting to see.

Superman is still trying to find his place in the world in this movie and I thought the movie did a great job portraying that, however inspiring Superman is, there will always be those who are concerned if someone so powerful could turn on us and as they boy scout he is, he's concerned about what others think and comes across as genuinely pained as to whether he can be all good in this world.

Wonder Woman is amazing in this, no spoilers as people will have seen the trailers but when she turns up and is in a tough fight she is amazing and deserved more screen time, there's a bit where she gets hit hard and the smile on her face as she went back for more was incredible, I can't wait for that film now.

All in all, not a perfect film by any means but I thought it was a great way to start the DC universe and I have to give an extra point to DC just for some of the ballsy decisions made here as there are parts of this film I thought I'd never see on the big screen even though I knew this was a Batman v Superman movie.

9 out of 10 and a must see for me.
