The Naheulbeuk universe is an original creation by French author John Lang. It started as a very popular audio comedy series parodying role-playing games and heroic fantasy tropes. Now the story is available in English and as a video game for the first time!

I just finished a battle where I was so much in flow, there was so much to keep in mind, that I lost track of time as I just had to finish that battle. There were so many enemy that I thought there was no way I could win, but I did. Perfect. Also, game looks great on Xbox Series X. Expand

Never heard of it before but decided to give it a go since it was free on gamepass. So if you like xcom or wasteland or games like that give it a try its quite fun. I basically skip all the dialog and at times the combat was so unfair i had to restart the battle with an option you can use anytime. So if you like dungeon crawlers and turn based tactics and you got gamepass, what are you waiting for ... try it! Expand

The combat is simple and fun, yet can be very challenging on the highest difficulty. The RPG components of questing, loot mechanics, and character progression are well-designed.

The Pixar-like aesthetics, and goofy story and dialogue, work for the game, but aren't anything special. The dialogue has an irreverent Shrek-like charm, filled with dad humor and dirty jokes. The quest structure is a bit sloppy, and tasks sometimes have ambiguous parameters that make it difficult to know what you're supposed to be doing. I did encounter a very annoying bug several times where the ranger's melee attack would essentially freeze the game causing me to have to restart a fight several times setting me back 15 minutes.

The core gameplay of combat and mechanical RPG elements of leveling up and acquiring gear are very strong, and I would give those a 9. The other components of the game are mediocre, and it is kind of short.
