    A lot of people are going to miss out on a great game because of how slow it is to click. I went into it knowing this and still felt like it wasn't going to happen. Then it clicked and I've been loving it since. It's not perfect, no game is. So many bashing it saying it's dated or there's no reason it should run at 30 on console or be taxing on PC. These people clearly don't understand that graphics aren't the only thing that determines frame rate. This game is tracking and applying physics to pretty much every object in the game of which there are a lot. Give it a chance, it might take 10, 15, or even 20 hours before it really clicks but when it does it's so much fun getting lost in another Bethesda RPG. I wouldn't trade that feeling of starting down one quest only to realize an hour later you've been pulled into something completely different and thinking this is what I was doing.     Really, really let down by this game. It's should be titled "Loading screen simulator" or "abstruse menu exploration" because that's where you spend the majority of your time... The Bethesda formula is old and tired, and this game simply feels dated.

Le meilleur conseil que je peux vous donner est de prendre votre temps et de savourer le jeux, contempler les décors, imaginer vous que vous êtes un explorateur de l'espace. Il sert a rien de donner une note ou de dénigrer un jeux pour des détails n'y de faire des éloges sur des ressentis personnel.     Nunca me engancharon mucho los juegos RPG…hasta este.Sorpredente,inmersivo, con escenarios al detalle y lleno de situaciones de todo tipo.
    Para mi jugador a todo tipo de géneros y plataformas hay un antes y un despues de mi experiencia en Starfield ,
    Llevo 50 horas de juego y cuanto más descubro mas me gusta.

    GOTY. The downvotes are from Sony fan boys and disgruntled players who were upset that it's a console exclusive for XB. If you love Bethesda games, this is right up your alley. It's a complete masterpiece. Hundreds if not thousands of hours to enjoy.

    Que jogo! A história e muito boa, as missões secundárias são em suma excelentes, algumas são uma bosta. Mas enfim, o jogo tem seus problemas, mas, não deixa todo o resto excelente de lado, a customização das naves e um ponto ótimo, as batalhas especiais são excelentes também. Não levem os reviews bomb a sério, não são pessoas que jogaram, ou estão fazem isso por hate mesmo.

    This game is one buggy mess with 360 graphics , what's happening with the copying and pasting level builds in some planets, a 1 is for the devs for creating this... would really be stupid to rate higher with last gen graphics and an indie storyline..

    Side Quests:
    I've been playing more side quests than the main story, and I've loved them. There are typical missions like delivering a package or killing a target with little story, but there are other side quests that have a much better-developed story and can be longer than the game's main story.

    Enemies are bullet sponges; be prepared to spend a lot of ammunition if your weapon doesn't do much damage.
    The artificial intelligence of NPCs and enemies is quite "dumb."
    You can encounter several bugs.

    -Space combat feel amazing and very fluid

    Cons: - NPCs can feel a bit bland at times
    -Graphically this game isnt bad but they are sometimes some very washed out texture or just bad pop ins.
    -Facial animations sometimes looks bad.
    - This game is very very heavy. This can be a pro or a con, but this game can feel very overwhelming at times, and at one specific point if you dont prepare yourself U can feel as if everything you have done was wasted.

    OVERALL: The pros heavily outweigh the cons, This game is an easy 8.5/10, If you love RPGs, or BGS games, then the amount of choices, customizations, open endedness of the world makes it all worth investing time into this game…IJust take your time with it, its not a slow burn, but because of the size and scope you can easily become overwhelmed.     The diologue in this game feels like it’s been written and performed by a kid. Every time someone speaks its pure cringe. The game is such a drag to play at the start.
    I love the fallout games and Skyrim, and thought it would be largely the same quality. But those games are old, so bad diologue and bugs is forgivable. But not in a game like this. Unfortunately, once you get the hang of it you realize how rinse-and-repeat the “exploration” is in this game. Drop to the waypoint, walk about 400 meters to the destination, enter a copy-pasted cave orInteresting for the first 10 hours before the doldrum of RNG repetition kicks in. Fast travel is a bit finicky to start with, but you start to get into the groove of it after not too long. Unfortunately, once you get the hang of it you realize how rinse-and-repeat the “exploration” is in this game. Drop to the waypoint, walk about 400 meters to the destination, enter a copy-pasted cave or facility, finish the objective. Rinse. Repeat. The lack of traversal options on-planet before you reach the 400 meter destination is an absolute slog. Locking gameplay features behind skill trees is frustrating as well, especially given the fact that you are unable to respec your character. Bethesda-standard physics jank and uncanny valley lip sync have not improved since Fallout 4. Pretty unsurprising at this point. I didn’t have high hopes given Bethesda’s recent offerings. That’s the only reason I can say I’m not disappointed by this game. It’s more or less what I expected.… Expand

    Purchasing and playing a Bethesda game always comes with some caveats. You know the combat will be janky. You know there will be bugs, ranging from amusing to game breaking. You know the graphics will be rather subpar compared to contemporary titles. You know both the companion and enemy AI will be less than impressive, to put it mildly. You know performance, particularly on PC, will notPurchasing and playing a Bethesda game always comes with some caveats. You know the combat will be janky. You know there will be bugs, ranging from amusing to game breaking. You know the graphics will be rather subpar compared to contemporary titles. You know both the companion and enemy AI will be less than impressive, to put it mildly. You know performance, particularly on PC, will not be proportionate with the aforementioned subpar graphics. You know there will be an over-reliance from Bethesda on the modding community to fix these things. All these caveats are present in Starfield, but what has traditionally made these caveats tolerable in past BGS titles is the unparalleled sense of exploration that the games engender. Unfortunately that sense of exploration does not exist in Starfield.

    Whether crossing the Commonwealth or traversing Tamriel's terrain you never knew what was going to be over the next hill or around the next bend. Just try to remember the sense of wonder and awe you felt in Skyrim when you first came across Blackreach. With Starfield, a game ostensibly about exploring space, that sense of exploration, wonder and awe is all but gone. Imagine if every point of interest in Fallout 4 or Skyrim was locked behind 4-5 loading screens and only reachable through fast travel (or by running several hundred meters across a barren landscape) and further imagine if virtually every point of interest was copied and pasted using the same assets, same layout and same enemy spawn points. That is Starfield's planetary exploration in a nutshell. 1,000 planets across a large section of a galaxy, all with identical mining facilities, labs, geological formations and enemies. It's soulless, boring, repetitive and lazy. Once it quickly loses its luster what you're left with is a rather boring conversation and loading screen simulator with occasional bursts of combat (which, to their credit, has improved somewhat due to help from the folks that made Doom - though this was an extremely low bar to clear). It's almost as if Todd got tired of hearing his games described as "wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle" but rather than making those critics eat their words he double downed on that design philosophy out of spite instead.

    Will the game perform better and have conspicuously missing quality of life features in a year due to the diligence of modders? Probably yes. But I have a hard time imagining modders being able to replicate that sense of exploration and adventure previous BGS games offered. Such a shame.    … Expand

    This is a lazy game….they forgot so much stuff it’s embarrassing…npc’s not reacting to you firing a gun in their presence. Broken quests, bug…it’s playable…but come on. Realizing unfinished games should stop!

    It's amazing. Questlines are great, varied, and take amazing turns... visuals stunning and it's classic Bethesda. To boot, add a USB drive with fallout 3 radio in the background for the ultimate BGS experience. Da bomb man. Ignore the Ponies review bombing... they have pathetic lives...

    So in all that boring nothingness, you get a few outposts/settlements/buildings, where you can loot and explore, guess what, opening the door will require to wait a few seconds for you to enter, its probably just a small loading screen. after entering it, you will get a whole lot of items you can loot, there comes the other thing which made me hate the gameplay, 135kg where i can store stuff, and its already full after like 5mins of exploring a building. so you either have to overload your companion or run back to your ship and store it there and come back later. but dont worry, thats not the only quality of life feature which is missing, the game also doesnt have a map (i mean a technology advanced enough for space travel but not maps), it also doesnt have a minimap.
    the fasttravel system is complicated, you have to look at the location with your scanner and use fasttravel.

    - no minimap
    - super bland coloring / watching the game is enough to bore the sht out of you
    - boring introduction

    - the moment you start enjoying the exploration , your bag gets full

    i for my part didnt enjoy it, i bought the preorder pack for over 100bucks, got a refund, played it on the gamepass and still didnt enjoy it and quit early on.

    É um otimo jogo, trás grande inovação grafica pro padrão da bethesda e é um jogo com um pacing diferente, pra galera que nao esta acostumada e quer que tudo clique muito rapido pra elas gostarem nao é esse tipo de jogo demanda tempo e calma jogar na moralzinha. Adorei as quests secundarias e ta sendo incriv descobrir cada historia no game.

Quanto mais vc joga, mais vc quer continuar naquele universo, explorando, criando entreposto, ajudando os npcs daquele universo e até esquece das Quests principais. Olha o tamanho dessa área desse planeta e vc pensa "caralho, tem mais uma porrada de galáxia que eu nem fui ainda". Starfield é o maior jogo que já tive o prazer de jogar e pra vc que gosta de falar mal do jogo, só resta falar mal mesmo, pq a grande maioria vai lá, joga e percebe que tudo que vcs estão propagando são asneiras.     played the game for almost 2 hours and I closed the game and deleted it. The optimization of the game is a disgrace. The spaceship has no meaning, you can go everywhere with fast travel. The graphics are bad. There is a stupid filter and it tires your eyes. In short, this game did not meet my expectations and disappointed me.

    I don't think it's a 10 game, but I gave it a 10 to contrast with the bias of bad ratings. I would give it an 8. I had a lot of fun, I think the stealth mechanics could have been a little better developed, as well as facial features in intense dialogues, small problems.
    Exploration would be more fun if it weren't so randomized every time you land in some corner of a planet. They wanted to give the feeling of infinite possibilities but created an immense lack of interest in random exploration. That's the only point that made me take 2 points out of the game.    … Expand

    I love this game. After so many hours I can say I have a new forever game (my last one was Skyrim). Thank you Bethesda for the good job. Of course the game is not perfect, I have seen a few bugs, space travels were disappointing, and I can say the way the maps works are confusing. Nothing that cannot be fix with updates (or community mods).

    I think it's a step forward when it comes to gameplay we saw in Fallout 4 and Skyrim. The space traversal ruins most of it for me, I've spent a **** of time in the menus and maps in this game. Everything with traveling with the ship feels so disjointed.

    Appart from everything ship related it's the best Bethesda game when it comes to gameplay, and it makes me look very much forward to ES6.

I gave it a 1/10 rating, as I believe this reflects the quality of this game. I am extremely disappointed. This is not a fanboy review, I actually played the game extensively.

    In particular, the promise that Starfield would be a game for explorers was not kept. The majority of the planets are empty. Exploring these planets is dominated by boredom. The story is also quite shallow and of no particular quality. The graphics are mostly outdated and have nothing to do with next-gen. The character models are often very ugly. Overall, there is no immersion, which is also due to the fact that you have to click through various menus very often and landing on planets manually isn't possible.

    If this review is deleted again, I will rate the game again and again. It cannot be that opinions and views are suppressed here. I am a buyer of this game!    … Expand

You will often find yourself repeating the same fetch quests over and over once you complete the mind numbing overly long tutorial. Once you get in to the groove though, you quickly find out that the game contains much repetition broken up by the same loading screens, and that you are not as free as you thought you would be. Quests will be to teleport (quick travel) to a location that resembles the same as before it, walk a short distance, shoot the bodies in front of you, loot and return. You are unable to freely fly your ship anywhere you want, nor can you land anywhere on a planet that you want. In fact, if you land the same place twice, the planet will look different. The game procedurally generates a "random" tile to which you can walk, just don't walk to far because there are invisible walls. You can not even see the towns in the background. Gunplay is nice and tight, however quickly becomes underwhelming when you realize most weapons feel the same, but some with a zoom option. The enemies will not run for cover or show any signs of intelligence as you blast their faces off. Jumping and moving super slow .. because you know, gravity? .. This only adds to the frustratingly boring slow paced gameplay and story. Designing your own base or ship you would think would be fun, but it is not. The clunky system and process is tedious and is not rewarding. The level-up / reward / skill system seems interesting, but plagued by bugs and glitches as is the entire game quickly becomes the same... more annoying than rewarding. Overall, this half baked experience seems like it was pulled out of the oven way too soon. Gamers alike want to love it, as it is a popular release and set in space, what is there not to love? Unfortunately, this game falls flat on its face and feels more like multiple mini games stuck together with extremely long loading screens. Each as equally bad as the other.     What it does do well is tells a proper narrative supported by fully voiced dialogue even has lore via voice recordings ala bioshock style with some comedic elements. Sprawling handcrafted cities that are fully explorable and more. All the mechanics looting and crime, respect and hate, companionship, lock picking, factions, quests that even have a backstory (even though some are random as hell.) Base and ship building you can even own a fleet of ships and make your own trade routed to automatically farm other resources from multiple outposts on multiple planets. The game is huge.

    Proper physics like gravity, items stay where you place them and gravity has a huge effect on derelict ships in space.

    There are some things people get over dramatic about, little things that should not even matter "this random population city generated npc is looking at me funny" there are hundreds of "random" generated npcs dont expect them all to look handcrafted like main story ones. "You cant explore the planet and it has borders" have you ever walked too france from the uk, newsflash true 1 to 1 walking sucks.

    Game is beautiful, good graphics and clever usage of light effects ray traced shadows and sprawling landscapes that have there physical feel too them.

    Lots to do feels like. Masseffect, bioshock, star citizen, no mans sky, fallout in space all wrapped into 1 neat package.

    If you like any of them games you will love starfield.

    But why a 10 you say? Because it seems like every other pony sock a count is downvoting from what i experienced to be a solid game that deserves better then stupid people downvoting it cause its not in there piece of plastic its pathetic. Ps. Ignore jim sterling (jimquisition), meritstation and ign US reviews. Ive read them and there is all sorts of lying going on sterling said "No Man’s Sky’s randomly generated worlds may have been rather soulless, but at least you didn’t explore identical buildings and identical caves full of identical furnishings and identical encounters" Ive played nms since its launch and everything jim said there is a utter lie.    … Expand

    I just came here to read all the PS5 fanboys having a meltdown because they can't play. Added bonus I found the snowflakes crying about it being woke. As my score indicates it's a great game and the majority of the bad reviews are people who haven't even played.

    Missing the important last sentence on the screen of a conversation with an NPC when answering.
    NPCs in the background talk while i can choose an answer in a conversation, but i can't concentrate on reading while people talk in the background, just shut up NPCs in the background.
    I'm so not interested in listening to all conversation options, the options are so not interesting. Unlike Skyrim, I listened to every single dialogue and enjoyed every second.
    Faction chief of main quest faction (with way too much eye makeup), first makes impression of an emancipated boss, chief of the faction, but as she 5 minutes later becomes companion, she smiles like a clown, ends conversation with "bybye", how unprofessional.

    Mission design
    In the flight tutorial, the assistant talks when it's too hectic. When landed, the assistant sometimes talks too quietly. Letting me miss game content.
    Strange annoying sound bug in early mission.
    As a player we are unwillingly thrown into the main story faction, 5 minutes later we talk with a pirate chief in a pirate base (whyever game the designer designed that the we wants to risk our live for the new faction yet), and we have to choose the conversation "stop to attack our bases"? Since when are we so loyal to the faction?!
    Don't know how to jump to the next destination in space, even if the destination is marked, there is a red text which says i have to activate the gravimotor, but how? I figured it out after experimenting with the engine allocation stuff, but that will be too complicated for most players.

    Reward system
    Reached level 2, still in kind of a tutorial, already found an epic item.

    Environment
    Books cant be read.
    Armour of killed enemies can not be taken.
    Levels of enemies let the game feel like a looter shooter.
    When you arrive at the first colonised world, beautiful at first glance, the first thing you hear from an NPC walking by is "i will soon leave here for good", so thanks for destroying the picture.

    Technique
    Only 30 fps.
    Clunky first person shooting.
    Some too small texts.
    Walking and combat feels clunky like The Outer Worlds.
    Texture pop ups during conversation in main quest, level 3.
    Pause menu gives annoying loud music, sorry but let me pause to take a call or talk to my wife, just shut up, I have to mute the TV.

    Fanservice
    Missing Italian voice acting, which Skyrim and Fallouts had.

    Now I have already had enough of this game.
    Normally I watch reviews after completing a game, but here I have to make an exception, after such a bad first impression. But I already see an uninstall soon.
    The good thing about Starfield is, I don't have to spend my time with this, and I can play other, better games. I would rather play Skyrim or Fallout 4 again.

    The graphics are terrible for a game in 2023 and from such a famous developer studio. The beginning of the game couldn't be more boring than it is in Starfield. The battles are not interesting either on earth or in space. I spent about 5 hours playing the game and have no plans to return. Damn it, I think the characters and NPCs look better even in Skyrim

    Starfield is a real triumph. The game is so big it gives you a headache in a good way, the planets are huge there is so much to do, people giving low scores because they played 3-4 hours play 20 + and it really turns into something special i done 1 main mission because there so many side quests and planets. The gun play is solid with 3 vies first person, third person and over theStarfield is a real triumph.     I feel very mixed about this game. On one hand, I love it. On the other, I feel so disappointed. I had 0 expectations towards this game, however, a few things really bug me out. 1. What is the point of my spaceship? It is just a tool to make fast travel immersive. You can't actually fly around. 2. Exploration is a mess. While there are hand crafted areas and towns, that are great, most ofI feel very mixed about this game. On one hand, I love it. On the other, I feel so disappointed. I had 0 expectations towards this game, however, a few things really bug me out. 1. What is the point of my spaceship? It is just a tool to make fast travel immersive.     Boring! Space is big and exploration is is one of the wonders but instead we have cutscene after cutscene as you move from box to box (on foot might I add with no vehicles). I’m bored after a few hours and given up. Thank god I bought it on game pass and didn’t pay full price.

    It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

    While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
