Lightfall takes place in a new city on Neptune, Neomuna, which has a pristine and retro-futuristic design. As for the fifth subclass that was briefly seen, this new Darkness power is called Strand and allows for new traversal methods in Neomuna. The city is inhabited by a new race known as Cloudstriders, who managed to escape The Collapse of the solar system and remain hidden from the Darkness. With The Witness having discovered the city, it has come under siege from Calus, the Shadow Legion, and gigantic Pyramid Demons that can use a scythe to attack from a distance and drain your life-force. Eclipse is more of a bridge that takes us closer to the end than a decisive expansion. Even so, Bungie’s mastery is evident in the impressive aesthetics of Neomuna and in a campaign of very high level of quality.

The new expansion, Lightfall, is a very flashy and entertaining piece of content that offers something different than usual in Destiny 2. Despite its little narrative, the cinematics and characters it introduces are very interesting, and hopefully it works ideally as a link with the next and latest expansion for Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is a step in the right direction in terms of offering a challenge that lives up to Bungie's legacy.

Destiny 2's Lightfall expansion doesn't make a good first impression, but beneath a threadbare story that relies on an exasperatingly fuzzy motivation for your Guardian, it still feels mechanically satisfying to dive into. Comparing it to the standard of excellence that 2022's The Witch Queen saga established only exposes the numerous shortcomings of Lightfall, and that's a shadow that the next year of seasonal content will need to step out of if Bungie wants to develop the expansion into something more than a middle-of-road entry that stumbles toward a final showdown that has been a decade in the making.

While it can feel more like a proof of concept for some new mechanics than a vital piece of the experience, Lightfall is another reason to come back to Destiny 2, which proves it’s still a top-tier shooter more than half a decade into its life.

As is the case with the Destiny of late, this is a three-steps-forward-one-step-back situation.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is a let down. The blessing is that the gunplay and action are as good as ever, but stupid difficulty spikes and poor writing make Lightfall a chore to play.

It didnt meet the expectations - the hype was huge but overall gameplay is really nice. I like the changes to difficulty level and new modding system, it really refreshed the game for me. The only downside is the story which is pretty dull in this DLC but it doesnt matter that much Expand

I do like the setting and the map design but the puzzles anre what really kill me. I’m tired of these annoying **** boring puzzles they keep adding to their game. id rather just play a shooter and not some Zelda knockoff where the puzzles aren’t even intuitive or fun to solve, it’s all just mid mid mid mid mid. DONT BUY IT! Bungie gave up on this one. Feels like a money grab with little to no effort put in to this expansion. I’ve been playing since D1DONT BUY IT! Bungie gave up on this one. Feels like a money grab with little to no effort put in to this expansion. I’ve been playing since D1 and feel more than qualified to voice the following concerns:

    1. The campaign is awful. The story is incomprehensible and goes nowhere. There is no innovation. It feels stale and lackluster.

    2. Bungie reuses environmental assets from another world and adds them to a brand new undiscovered world. Makes zero sense and mentally takes you out of the story. Super lazy Bungie.

    3. Neptune is beautiful but shallow, empty and lifeless.

    4. Very few new enemies. 5. Bungie reused super old public events and added them to the new planet of Neptune. Why no new public events Bungie? Again, lazy.

    6. As expected, tons of bugs, disabled weapons/armor, work arounds, crashes, system freezes etc, Is it even a Destiny launch without a botched launch?

This DLC will kill any returning/new player because its map layouts suck ass, the new "ability" is absolutely trash (sides movement which **** cares sides pvp) i played like 3 missions on legendary solo and each one was a real pain in the ass, which I figured it would be, but I went cas and still **** struggled b/c of how dog **** water the maps are. Like no joke i honestly enjoid witch king so I had decent hopes for this but nope they **** flopped in every single way. I will play from time to time simply b/c I payed for this trash. Won't happen again tho, Destiny 2 died with this dick cheese dlc Expand
