    i have no clue how people can play these awful games on a console, fps with controller is awful. maybe the audience for this game is just younger, and hasnt had time to grow up with amazing titles. dunno, i've never been impressed with halo. if its your thing, maybe you will enjoy it. but coming from the days of DOS.. this game is a joke. sadly most games are crappy ports nowadays,i have no clue how people can play these awful games on a console, fps with controller is awful. maybe the audience for this game is just younger, and hasnt had time to grow up with amazing titles. dunno, i've never been impressed with halo. if its your thing, maybe you will enjoy it. but coming from the days of DOS.. this game is a joke. sadly most games are crappy ports nowadays, this game had such a large advertising campaign drilling it into little kids heads that its the greatest ever... its no wonder its doing well. battlefield 2142 is more fun to me, personally. 64 people with tons of vehicles and madness? oh yea. plus it doesnt take me 4 seconds to turn around heh. like i said if this is your idea of fun enjoy it. to each their own *shrug*… Expand

    Not impressed with Game played was expecting more from halo3. Even Warhawk seems more funner than halo.
    The reason I gave a 1 because I think halo3 is overrated, originally I would give a "7" if Fanboys don't always give a "10" then i would have give a legitimate vote.

    Way overhyped. This game was overhyped to high heaven. The multiplayer is alright, but it's been done millions of times in billions of FPS's before Halo 3. It's really nothing new and not worth spending $60 on.

    It is Halo and Halo 2 all over again. Nothing new, nothing spectacular. I played the first Halo and got bored in 15 minutes. Same with Halo 2, Halo 3 lasted less then 5 minutes.

    Well the graphics were horrid compared to lets say half-life 2 which was released 3 or so years ago, the single player was so bad that I don't even know why they put it in the game, and the multiplayer was average at best, still not as good as battlefield 2142 or any of the unreal tournaments.

    I was one of those people who were hyped up about getting this game until i got it and besides a couple new weapons and maps i thought i was playing Halo 2 if you like halo you might as well save your money and get COD4 or another game not basically another copy of a game you already have.

    Too similar to the other two halo games. Graphics are good, but few new tricks won't save the game. Too much the same. For fans a must choice but for anyone else, try before buying.

    The graphics are way to low against many other 360 shooters. The single player story is the shortest in FPS games history. Don't even think comparing with GoW or Bioshock. I don't understand why the game critics rate with 9.x if a game like GoW have 9.4 or Bioshock's 9.6. I think you have to reanilze, give Halo 3 a lower rating or GoW and Bioshock (not to mention other The graphics are way to low against many other 360 shooters.     this game is overrated trash. everytime i play there is this one monster dude thing who keeps raping the f*ck out of me. i hate this dumb piece of sh*t. the most entertaining part of this crap game is probably the freakin menu screen.

    This game is crap... they keep on trying to update is and the only thing that the updates do is make the game play more and more crappy..I just don't understand why Microsoft rips people off... Its like if I were in charge I would be like " Guys lets fix this game its really messed up right now..." So hopefully they'll see this and fix it.

Has the most retarded AI that more often than not will get their truck stuck against a rock, and that's not even the worst part the campaign is so overused (space marine # 10000000000000000000) that what little sparks of originality are snuffed out by the monstrous piles of overused s**t. A game that has got such a big following feels like the effort hasnt been put in to make it what the customers deserve it to be.     Good game that's not even close to the hype that was generated around it, not even on the top 5 FPS of the year lists for people who enjoy the full genre, rather than blindly following one title.

    This game sucks really bad. First of all, graphics suck; it looks like a freaking PS2 game. The AI is terrible, but that may be because they are stupid aliens, still... Oh, and multiplayer is my biggest issue with this game. Not gonna get into it because many users have written exactly what I think.

    if the game was not hyped up so much it would have possibly got a 4, but with such high expectations its an extreme let down.

Eaven tho im a big fan of halo2 and halo1 this was a great disappointment that dosnt deserve half the hype it gets from fanboys all over.     This game does not live up to the hype. The controls are poor - ruining a lot of gunplay - it shouldn't be the case that you are *less* accurate aiming with ironsights, than when you shoot from the hip. The maps are large, but badly designed. The engine does them a lot of favours because the environments look great with blowing wind and dust and visibility varies in locations, which This game does not live up to the hype. But moving around the maps is very boring and straightforward. There aren't really alternate routes - like players had with movement in CoD4, going over walls, or through crawlspaces. The single player is largely an exercise in patience - fighting the same footsoldiers over and over again, and using the same basic weapons with the same problems (only sniper rifle benefitting from you aiming carefully with it). The cover system is implemented reasonably well - but it is a bit too clunky. Also - the cover system does not apply in multiplayer - so it doesn't matter if it's well done if it's absent. This game doesn't know what it wants to be. Gunplay is worse than CoD4 (a LOT worse) - ranking up wasn't implemented correctly (in a lot of cases in CoD4 you got the best guns at lower classes - mp5, ak47 from start etc), and unlocked cool features that kept the game interesting as you ranked up. In KZ2, you start with crap guns you won't go back to after you rank up, if you bother to stick with the game. I feel like I've wasted my money on this game - it was totally overhyped, and it's inferior to titles from last year. Also, the storyline is terrible, the settings for levels very repetitive, the range of game modes in MP is fine but none of them are fun - none are fast and furious, you'll do well by strategic camping - if you're good enough to play a game that rewards reactions and accuracy, you'll get penalised for that in this game. It's the Xbox360's Killzone - a dumbed down lowest common denominator shooter - but with a lot less variety in terms of weapons, a lot less speed in terms of gameplay, no local multiplayer on split screen.… Expand

    Truly an abysmal effort by Bungie to cash out on this aging, stale franchise, Halo 3 fails on almost every level with lackluster visuals (720 p my butt!), attrocious pacing, boring and rehashed evironments, and constant bug crashing. The online, while solid, is of course ruined by a deluge of toddlers.

    Make no mistake about the rave reviews which this game is getting: Microsoft has deep pockets and is most likely paying review sites to give the game sparkling and unduly high marks. As a review site your future depends on you doing this; if you don't do what the publishers want, they don't send you games to review early and thus you can't compete with review sites who do get them early for playing by the publishers' rules.     The majority of the population seems to like this awful joke of a game. Then again the majority of the population consists of very bad drivers. There is nothing good about bad driving or this game but idiots of the world seem to find both to be a favorite pastime.

Why do my submachine guns point up when I fire them? Guns recoil into your shoulder not jump up in the air. Why must it go to 3rd person, I can't get into a game when I'm just watching my character do something, I There's nothing to enjoy about this game. Why do I only carry 3 extra mags for my rifle. I'm always short on ammo, but I guess it doesn't matte because it's easier just to punch every enemy to death.     I have to give this letdown a zero due to the fanboys who give it a 10. This game is a major letdown. The series has lasted one game to long. There is nothing new or revolutionary about Halo3. The best of the series is easily the original. Horrible hit detection, laggy game play. They actually somehow made the game more boring. Congrats Bungie. See you people on COD 4.

Weapons the same except for like 2 or 3 of them. You can't go anywhere with anything like you could in Halo 2 which was part of the fun.     3. The makers at least made an effort to make a good PC version. Even then I wouldn't buy it because it's still too bloody.

    In conclusion, Halo 3 is probably the most hyped game in history. Ocarina of Time is porbably much more fun, and it's something people can play without being reminded of GTA. Stop believing the hype, you Microsoft fanboys.    … Expand

    I've tried every game mode and I'm extremely disappointed with this game. Especially after Gears of War and Bioshock set the FPS bar so high, I figured with the amount of hype this game had that it would be absolutely amazing- instead it plays like Marathon with an updated HD paint job. At least COD 4 is gonna rock if it turns out anywhere close to the BETA...

    I recently finished the entire game & felt very Satisfied to what it had to offer, then i tried the online play. WOW!!! Incredible!! I could not tell you how amazing it is to play against 40 other players at once, you have to see for yourself.

    This game was a HUGE disappointment with all of the hype surrounding it. It's just mediocre, Call of Duty 4 is infinitely better than this dreck. What's even more offensive is that screen shots were released of a level before this game came out. I myself have been stung by the bizarrely high scores given to this title both by (supposedly impartial) professional critics and fans alike. Put simply, this game is not a good first person shooter and I cannot understand how it has even been considered as such, let alone the best fps ever! There is Wow, truly Halo 3 is a magnificent success for Microsoft (and marketing in general). I myself have been stung by the bizarrely high scores given to this title both by (supposedly impartial) professional critics and fans alike. Put simply, this game is not a good first person shooter and I cannot understand how it has even been considered as such, let alone the best fps ever!     This game was way too hyped up. I've never been jipped more in a multiplayer game ever. There are way too many flaws and errors in online play. It had to been programmed by a bunch of monkeys. On top of that, there really aren't that many maps. For big team battle it's the same two maps...how boring.     With slightly better graphics than quake 1, the storyline of a coloring book, and less gameplay and replayability than a calculator, Halo 3 earns its place as the worst game I have ever played.

    I give this a 0 to balance out the score. This game is a 7/10 at best. It loses points for lack of originality (every Halo game has practically been carbon copies of each other), crappy aiming system (the aiming system rewards spray and pray rather than skill) and another point is lost for a bad multiplayer. Supposedly the best aspect of the game but instead you're launched into maps I give this a 0 to balance out the score. This game is a 7/10 at best. All of you who give it a 10 are blind to the fact that Halo sucks and Bungie has been living off the hype of the original game (which only got hype because it was the first decent shooter on the original Xbox). They use this permanent fanboy fervor to allow them to make a game that has been the same since it's conception adding in only minor changes that have all been done in another game in some form or another to keep the critics at bay. I'm still disgusted that a magazine of Edges calibur gave this game the full 10/10.… Expand

    Guns a too quiet when i first played it i didnt even know if ikiled a target not enough blood, hardly any new stuff from old ones stroyline is ok but this game really isn't worth the amount it costs i don't see what the big deal the guns don't fell as if they doing any damage when you win their iisn't a big song and dance about it either.

    Halo 1-3 were just ripoffs from a book. Also the gameplay was crappy and shitty. Nothing was great. Half-life was better and a lot more mood-effecting and more satisfying. You have few weapons and enemies and the mighty noob shield. I know you guys like to "flow with the crowd". Say your real comments peeps, because I'm not affected by the flow.

    This game makes absolutly no breakthroughs, or represents anything special. Its just a insanly boring FPS with the worst storyline ever conducted, which is comparable to any generic alien vs. human genre type. The multiplayer is good. But other than that, it blows. Play Half-Life if you are a real gamer.

    I know it's a bit harsh to rate this game a 0, but to be honest, i got nothing out of it, it's just the same old stuff re-done with new "flashy" graphics... Some say the multiplayer is the saviour of this game, personally i do find it fun, but it gets really boring very quickly. There is no redeeming qualities for this game, same old stuff over and over, it's just not good enough.

I went out and bought this game for me 360 which i've had for about 4 months, put it in, started on the campaign and was shocked! I have a Samsung 1080p TV but I could see jagged edges everywhere!     Over-hyped and overrated generic FPS. Almost as bad as HAZE and LAIR. Story mode is short and repetitive, however, this appears to be a trademark of Bungie and the Halo series. Awful shooting mechanic and boring selection of weapons. MP is laggy and unintuitive. Don't buy into the hype. This. game. sucks.

    Nothing special about this game at all. Its a cookie cuter FPS. The AI is lame with predicable actions. The story just was a rehash of the first one just about. Not worth paying for or even playing matter of fact. Your money is better off spent on a ps3 and getting Killzone 2.

DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER PLAYING HALO 3 BECAUSE OF THE RIDICULOUSLY LOW GUN SOUND VOLUME! It just kills all the fun for me. -_- Look at it this way.     Look at it this way. Epic story, tension is building up, you're in the jungle, all of a sudden you encounter the enemy, you start shooting. Pet put put put puut... ??? Hey, the sound of my gun is muffled even by the sound of my voice!... And no, it's not my setup, other games sound just fine. The sound mixing is just totally off in this game. And to think a simple sound menu could have solved this problem : sound up, voice down. UNBELIEVABLE HOW NOONE SEEMS TO EVEN MENTION THIS!... Gun sound is "essential" in a "shooter".

    IMHO all Halo 3 fanboys are idiots.

    PATCH THAT FRIGGIN' GUN SOUND BUNGIE INSTEAD OF LOOKING THE OTHER WAY!... It's the least you guys can do.

    Ps. I gave it a zero because the game disgusted me after a mere 10 minutes and I have never touched it again since. So much for paying 100 euros for the legendaty edition. Nuff said....    … Expand

I understand why the first and second were good. It was an extreme success, but now, it lost it's replayablity value via the sometimes unresponsive controls, or the matter.     I was in Game about to buy London 2012 and the helpful guy at the counter asked if I liked shooting games, I told him yes, I'm a big fan of CoD, So he recommended this game to me. I thought I'd buy it, as it was in the bargain bin and so within my budget. Anyway, I got home, started playing it and was bored of it within 5 minutes. Levels are poorly made and you are often forced to re-thread your path up to three times, a very cheap way to extend campaign time. Halo 3 is often called a sandbox game wich marks who ever says that as an imbecile. Graphics range from bad to 'what the hell am I even looking at' and are seen through the extremely narrow headache inducing field of view visor of robot master guy sergeant, the protagonist who jorneys through the plothole ridden mess of a storyline spouting maybe 3 sentences on the way to the ending wich by the way can not have taken the hacks at bungie more than 30 minutes to produce. You see the commercials (where the money was put) showed well made cgi whereas the ingame cutscenes look like someones first attempt at using the quake1 engine. If you have four microscopes you can play the game 4 way splitscreen in eyestrain-o vision, a function wich since it isn't in many games nowadays is often lorded as something divine when in actuality it is not something any sane person would inflict on their corneas. The multiplayer is cut from the same cloth as the campaign where the gameplay has a kidde pool level of depth and a community that would make a room full of angry baboons seem like a place of enlightenment. It runs on the worst game service on earth xbl with laggy p2p networking. If Halo 3 is your most favourite game in the world you might also enjoy banging a hammer against your head.… Expand

    Anyone who gives this game less than a 9 not even bothered in paying attention to the story or even what is happening. And even if you don't pay attention to those details, the game is great, people who gave low ratings don't like sci-fi games, and they just spent few time in game. Definitely is one of the 3 best games of xbox, and I say, that even today preserves that rank.

    It's the addition of the Forge level editor and the saved films that give the game an even longer set of legs, legs that will probably keep you running at full speed until Bungie figures out where, exactly, to go from here.

    Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game to date. The single-player campaign and storyline are both very strong, but it's Forge and the Saved Films features that will likely go down in history as Bungie's crowning achievements. They've basically taken everything great about the series and improved upon it in every way, then added some amazing new features that we'll be using for years to come.
