    Game so well enjoyed Mhaksnn felt like I was really well done story of the game creators worked hard to give us a good indication! Good game continue to make more such games is worth the money! Successfully

    I think this game is great! What I don't understand is what everyone is talking about when they same its the same thing over and over again... Sure the graphics look the same, but in order to keep it at 60 fps, they can't improve on them too much more for consoles. They have re-done gun sounds, kill streaks, perks, made 16 new great maps. Maybe they should made MW3 a racing game, or an RPG... Its really easy to say make MW3 different than the rest, but something you never see are good suggestions from people criticizing of what exactly they should have done. The game looks, feels, and plays great. That is the criteria of a good game, and MW3 has it in spades.… Expand

    This game is really good i dont know why you guys keep on giving flak for MW3. The game is using the same engine as MW2. if you get past that the game is REALLY GOOD.

    Wow. I assume the people who would grade this highly are all just online enjoying the game. It's tons of fun - nice new wrinkles to MP, new game modes, etc. It's lots of fun for COD fans, and seems accessible to new casual gamers. I don't understand the hate at all. This game is just as much fun as I thought it would be.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't understand why everyone is slapping down this game? It's a great way to end the story. I tried playing battlefield 3 and it was lacking. We picked up in MW3 right after Soap got stabbed. You then play as Yuri, one of Makarovs men turned to Price and Soaps team after he was shot by Makarov at the Airport mission before you go mow down half of Moscow. You discover this after (Spoiler) the death of Soap. The story is well thought out, the play is typical, however well known, and if you don't give this game an honest look and play, you are missing out. And please, do not judge this game on my words or of the other people who have given a bad review (though I suspect another developer is behind that). Play it and enjoy, have a cigar ready to smoke at the end of story mode so you can take in the full experience.… Expand

    Easily the best game of the series. And probably the best game of the year. Rather than add some extra graphics or bs like other games might, they instead choose to focus on the story, multiplayer and special ops. The story is thrilling and fun much like the predecessors. The special ops though, wow, just wow. Some of the most fun I've ever had playing split screen.

    It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it is more balanced and fun than any of the other COD games. The graphics are much better than Black Ops or MW2 and it is just smoother overall. In my opinion Battlefield 3 looks terrible on Xbox (BF3=30 fps, MW3=60 fps makes a huge difference!) and just has tons of graphical glitches (just youtube it).     Don't let the BF3 fans fool you. This game is fun, and not just a rehash. New modes were added, new weapons and player leveling systems were added. The people who have been reviewing this make it obvious that they haven't really played it. Either their mom wouldn't get it for them, or they just like BF more. That's fine, people should play what they love, but you can't talk about MW3'sDon't let the BF3 fans fool you. This game is fun, and not just a rehash.     I haven't played the single player yet, but multi-player is as fun as ever, sure it's just like the other CoD games but that's to be expected. There's a few issues with lag, the lag compensation in the game feels like it punishes players for having a solid connection. But all FPSs have lag issues, and at least MW3 is still playable (unlike some other recent FPS launch). Maybe someday whenI haven't played the single player yet, but multi-player is as fun as ever, sure it's just like the other CoD games but that's to be expected.     Im a cod player, battlefield looks good and all just doesnt have the same feel ive gotten so comfortable with. Addictive multiplayer, campaign that does exactly what its always been good at, and spec ops which is alot of fun w/ another person. Am intersted to see something change a little and the mp can be the most frustrating thing ever at times but I feel w/ the other options, cod doesIm a cod player, battlefield looks good and all just doesnt have the same feel ive gotten so comfortable with. MW2 was good... untill people found out that they could have unlimited noobtubes. Black Ops was garbo from the start, people where sitting in corners everywhere with ghost and second chance. Thankfully Treyarch later fixed this but then came along the infamous "Blop Shot" where a person would fall into second chance w/ their primary. Despite Treyarch's multiple attempts in fixing this, none of them worked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyifsnEsnuY . This plus EVERYBODY sitting in the corner threw me over the edge. Just when I thought all hope was lost, a ray of hope appeared, MW3! Now some people like to be cute and call it "Modern Warfare 2.5 or A patch for MW2." I will be the first to tell you that this is quite the opposite of "Modern Warfare 2.5" Alot of BF fanboys like to use their excuse that they have a beastly state-of-the-art brand new Frostbite 2 engine and we are still running on the same engine as mw2. IW 4.0 (the engine of MW2) was very new at it's time. The IW 5.0 (MW3's engine) may only be a tweaked version of IW 4.0 but there is a noticable difference. The gun sounds have changed and sound sooo much better. The graphics are noticeably better. The weapons are balanced, and unlike previous call of duty's I can get into a gun fight and have a fair chance of winning it. Overall the multiplayer is great!… Expand

    The shooting mechanics are still solid (not enough variety in weapons though), but on a technical level, this one's a full-on 'Monet' - from far away it's okay, but up close it's a big ol' mess. Those were some very flat, cardboard-y skyscrapers in New York.

    I'm old enough to remember when multiplayer was the yummy side dish which complemented the meaty single player main course. I neither want to be called a 'noob' or be 'pwned'.

    Still, congrats on a well-executed media event (drips with sarcasm)... but can my £40 buy me an actual game next time?    … Expand

    Awesome game! It is shame that battlefield kids have trolled the cod true user average score completely, but everyone really knows that this is truly a master piece. I have played all cod games and this wont let you down either. Don`t fix it what is not broken. Why call of duty should be different than it is?     Killstreaks and weapon levels are a good innovation that bring a new feeling to the series! What if it looks a lot like Modern Warfare 2? After all it is its sequel and which COD doesn't look like the one before it? Still, Modern Warfare 2 was an excellent game and I think no one can disagree. So I'm giving Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 a 10 out of 10. Perfect! After all, haters gonna hate.

    Those who gave this game a 0 have no integrity and should be banned from this site. This is pretty similar MW1 and 2, but I don't see why that should count heavily against it. I haven't finished the campaign, but there are no major missteps so far. The multiplayer has been cleaned up (no more getting stabbed from 10 ft away) with some nice new features.     To me its not about the graphics, its about the gameplay, and MW3 has AMAZING gameplay that can keep me playing for hours. The campaign was awesome, multiplayer is enjoyable and I can be sure that im getting every penny's worth on this game.

Aside from the new features, the graphics are similar, yes similar, but they are a lot better, the attention to detail is simply astounding. The single player campaign, is rather short, but it is nevertheless amazing. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat and is unpredictable, gripping andMany people are saying that this is just a cut-and-paste game, and I completely disagree. Survival mode is a feature that has been added in this year and to be honest, as a big fan of WAW and BLOPS zombies i thought it would try to be too much like that and fail, put simply it's not the same, and it's great in its own right. The multiplayer, obviously without changing massively, has some new perks and guns but to be completely fair is a little of the same, but that in itself has allowed it to be polished to a high standard, it will NEVER be everyone's cup of tea, but then again what will all I know is it's my cup of tea and my favourite multiplayer by far! This game is great in all aspects and I would highly recommend it :)… Expand

    I'm writing this review in response to a tweet made by Sledgehammer Games to get its fans to raise this user score on Metacritic. I think this game deserves an honest review so Activision knows how some of us truely feel about its Modern Warfare franchise to this point.

    If you don't know anything about the drama going on between Jason West and Vince Zampella vs. Activision, then I suggest    I'm writing this review in response to a tweet made by Sledgehammer Games to get its fans to raise this user score on Metacritic. I think this game deserves an honest review so Activision knows how some of us truely feel about its Modern Warfare franchise to this point.

    If you don't know anything about the drama going on between Jason West and Vince Zampella vs. Activision, then I suggest you do some catching up at IGN.com. Do a search on IGN.com about the lawsuit going on between these two guys (the original creators behind the Modern Warfare series) and Activision to learn more.

    Once you know what's going on in this lawsuit, you will then know that MW3 was not made by the original creators of the Modern Warfare series. Actually its something like 30 of the top developers left Invinity Ward to go work with Zimpella and West over at Electronic Arts. So none of the top talent behind the series worked on MW3.

    So in my opinion this is why we have a game that is no different, if not less, than what came with MW2 (graphics, controls, maps, story, spec ops, etc.). This is why the game brings nothing new to the table.

    I agree with most of the users on this site in that this game is no more than MW2 2.5. I think Activision should have done something different with the this game. They should have realized that there's no way any team could have lived up to Zimpella and West's standard and creativity in such a short period of time.

    What they should have done is made this game a summary of the Modern Warfare series on the these systems. They should have made a game that sort of paid tribute to the series and gotten themselves ready for MW3 on the new systems coming in a few years.

    They could put this game out with all the fixes that annoyed people, included all the map from MW1 and MW2, included all spec ops missions, and just straight blew out of the multiplayer experience, really paying tribute to the entire series. And then maybe had a trailer that announced MW3 for XBOX 720 and PS4. I think doing this would have given Activision the time it needed to find a team that could really put something out that lives up to the standards we all expect from the MW series. But I still give it a good review. You should still buy the game because its still a solid experience and the multiplayer is still good, but not great. The multiplayer does feel a little slimmed down compared to its predecessor but it doesn't deserve a zero. I give the game an 8.0. I will give Activision another chance with the next Modern Warfare. I also can't wait to see what Zimpella and West are up to.    … Expand

    Modern warfare 3 has done it again...never be disappointed with Call of duty series...the story lines were good , and able to tell the complete stories of MW1 to MW3. The game play was fun too...again with AC130 which is enjoyable...A10, remote control drone etc...the Spec-Ops is full of options and is fun too!

I will say there are a ton of campers in this game which, if you like to rush, can make it frustrating. If you sit back and look at both MW3 and BF3 they are both similar to the prior games.     Classic Call of Duty engine we have come to love, although a little less innovative then many would like, Modern Warfare 3 is still a lot of fun. The multi-player is really fast paced and feels a lot like CoD 4 with a little freshness.

    Solid title, nothing revolutionary here but it is serviceable for the many fans out there. The series will need to refresh its approach the next time around, but for now it is the best in the business for what it does. Fast action that awards skill over everything else.

    -need to fix the problem when it says "4 bar connection" even though it feels like 1 bar.
    -teleporting lag
    -Getting shot after you turn the corner as if the bullets magically hit you.

First, I'd like to say that Modern Warfare 3 is a VERY DECENT GAME. Although it is probably the least innovative game of the year, the formula that Call of Duty brings in every game is always extremely addictive and, to the anger of Battlefield fan's as they read this, very fun. As a fairly neutral gamer, I like to think of the Call of Duty series as a sports game, kind of like Madden or NBA Live. This is because Call of Duty releases on an annual basis, so you honestly cannot expect a COD4 like game every year. Just like sport's games update their rosters and add slight tweaks, COD adds new gun's and tweaks its formula a bit every year and I would just like to say: THIS ISN'T A BAD THING, COD IS STILL VERY FUN. That is what I have to say. If you are a hardcore gamer, get this game. If you are a casual gamer and you have money to spare, get this game. The Call of Duty franchise is number 1 in sales every year for a reason, although it is not innovative or very creative for that matter, it is fun and addictive and get's gamers to waste day's of their lives playing it. On a closing note, I would also like to ask my fellow reviewers to be a little more mature and a little more professional in there reviews and not flame on a game for outselling their favorite game.… Expand

    This game is pretty good. If this was the 5 scale, I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars. This game doesn't really have flaws, for the type of genre its in(realistic shooter) However, I just don't feel comfortable with giving a game that really is a carbon copy a 9 or a 10.

    Quick scoping (I spent 12 years in the Marine Corps and there is no way you can do that with a 50 caliber sniper rifle after ever shot you are on your ass from the recoil)

    I feel compelled to write a review for this because of the ridiculously low score it has so far. I'm not a COD fanboy. I hated some of the just-for-shocks stuff they did in the last modern warfare, and in general i find the whole series over-rated. That said, I did think the first modern warfare had an awesome single-player campaign, the second modern warfare's co-op special ops were aI feel compelled to write a review for this because of the ridiculously low score it has so far. I'm not a COD fanboy. I hated some of the just-for-shocks stuff they did in the last modern warfare, and in general i find the whole series over-rated. That said, I did think the first modern warfare had an awesome single-player campaign, the second modern warfare's co-op special ops were a ton of fun, and the Black Ops' multiplayer was actually really good. I have to admit also, that the first night i played MW3 I wanted to throw the game into the trash, so I can understand a few of the low reviews. The way the multi-player is set up, it is crazy frustrating for the new player coming in, trying to learn the new maps, and with no good weapons to use yet. This one, more than any of the others, I was crazy frustrated during the first few hours. However, once you learn the levels and open up some weapons, it is fun. And, even more fun so far for me, has been the new two player co-op survival mode. Have been having a blast. I wish it was 4 or 5 player co-op like other horde modes, but playing it with a good friend is fantastic fun. The special ops missions outside of survival mode dont seem as good as MW2, but they are fun. I have spent so much time playing survival so far, that I haven't even started the single player campaign yet, but I've enjoyed the rest of the game enough now to know that it deserves much better than what it is getting here, so I wanted to hurry and get a review up. Based on the fun I've had with survival mode, special ops, and even the regular multiplayer, I definitely don't think this game is a bust. Basically, if you are tired of COD, then there's no reason to buy it. But, if you still enjoy the series, and have a good buddy to play co-op with, I think it is definitely worth getting.… Expand

    MW3 is similar to MW2 yes. You know why? Because MW2 was rated the best game by the community. If you made the best thing ever invented. And you planned on making something else. You would try to keep the basics that you had from your first invention. Thats what MW3 did. The new point system and weapon rank ups and proficiency add a fresh new experience to what MW2 already had going for it. However this is not a fanboy review so here are some things wrong with MW3. The spawns are way to close, I plan on this being fixed in a few updates or so. Another thing is that one gun in particular (Type 95) that is overpowered. But all of the little problems in this game can be fixed. And there not gamebreaking issues. A new company worked on MW3's multiplayer so it is expected that they make some simple mistakes.     I did, however, have times both in the campaign as well as the multiplayer that felt a little too familiar to the past entries in the series. But if you enjoyed those games, you'll have a good time with this one.

    And people have to stop hating on the franchise so much. Yeah, it's still COD but have you seen any other FPS franchise change up it's routine in recent memory? Battlefield 3 is great, I know because I also own it, but it's multiplayer feels like a step back in comparison with Bad Company 2 (due to lack of destructibility mostly).

    Stop hating on the franchise, and be glad that a game in this industry can become so popular. I'd love to see Bioshock be the game that pushes game sales and gets on every news station, but you should blame the people who never give these types of games a chance, not the games that have achieved such phenomenal success. The point I'm trying to make is that MW3 is actually a quality game with a smooth frame-rate, competent campaign, and a multiplayer/co-op mode that gives the game a sense of longevity.     The multiplayer is the best of all COD games, and so much better than BF3 mp.

    I purchased this game with an open mind. Willing to forgive the previous two debacles if they could only retain what made COD 4 great. Regrettably this failed. The same engine as four years ago, the same formulaic OTT campaign and the same twitch shooting that rewards caffeine fueled twelve year olds and punishes anyone trying to play as a team.

    This game is very similar to the sequels but 10x better than black ops. It will still capture your attention and addict you to the beautifully constructed leveling system. Kill streaks are entertaining when you unlock them but just annoying when you become bombarded by the enemy. Anyway, the story is the usual, not realistic, and just confusing but fun to play.     All though this game has the same graphics as COD MOD 2 and the game play really didn't change at all. I find this game to a solid title, with a excellent multi-player. If you get this game you won't be disappointed for two reasons: exciting campaign mode, and an excellent on-line multi-player.

    Frankly, I play call of duty for online play, and this is the best they have ever released. It's stable, I haven't had any connection issues, the maps are the best of the entire series, and "kill confirmed" has me actually liking the series again. Can't believe they were able to win me back, but they did. Kill Confirmed alone makes this the best call of duty ever.

I am a massive modern warfare fan and have been looking forward to MW3 since black ops first arrived, however, I am sorely disappointed to say the least, MW3 avatar is slow, and game play seems to be even slower than MW2, I dont believe this is a worth while release and am taking this straight back to gamestation, not only this but I played for 2 hours under double XP reaching level 26 when I logged back on later I was for some unknown reason level 8 ?? I dont think any of the 16 maps are particularly big infinity ward have managed to make them all feel like you are playing a map consistently the size of nuke town (just for reference) I will not be giving this another try, however, I will try the new treyarch title in November next year which I believe is going to be a black ops sequel. Once again I cannot stress how diappointing MW3 is and honestly believe it should be taken off the shelves and given some serious work as MW3 feels like a step backwards towards MW2 rather than a better experience than black ops. One the other hand I have never been a fan of battlefield either but I think there is going to be a big shift in sales towards the Modern warfare rivals come the next installment. I would say well done to infinity ward but you are leaving everyone I know devastated after waiting for so long.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is an actual review of the game. So far I've put about 12 hours into the game, and I will say I'm fairly happy with what I've experienced. I'm going to break down the game in 2 categories and rate each one: campaign and multiplayer.

    Campaign:
    MW3 takes place right where MW2 left off, Soap is "dying" on the ground and Price is frantically trying to get help. With the help of Nikolai you escape capture and save Soap's life. The campaign then is splits between different perspectives around the globe as "WW3" is happening. Without spoiling the story, I'll just say the game is action packed and very satisfying. However, certain elements hurt the game including unlimited respawning enemies and the game playing itself through some of the more chaotic moments. Its a Call of Duty campaign, and is very enjoyable. I give the campaign an 8/10
    + Action that keeps you on the edge of your seat
    + Sounds
    - Unlimited spawning enemies

    Multiplayer:
    Its no mistake, Modern Warfare 3 is dominated by its multiplayer. Many guns return from previous titles along with a few new ones. This time around there is no more "kill streaks." Instead, Infinity Ward has added "point streaks" to reward players of all play styles. The Assault package kill streak functions as the old kill streaks in previous games (when you die, your kill streak is reset to 0). These kill streaks are primary designed to help the player gather kills. The Support package kill streak does not reset upon death. Kills, capturing objectives, and destroying objects all go towards these kill streaks. These kill streak rewards are designed to help the players team. Finally there is the Specialist Kill Streak which rewards players additional perks after so many kills. Like the Assault package, these perks reset when you die. The core Call of Duty experience remains with a fast paced arena shooter. There are more customization options for each gun then ever before, and they come in the form of "weapon proficiencies." Basically, every gun is now assigned a level. Once you level it up more attachments, camo, and red dot markers can be added. This works great as players are rewarded for using a certain more often. New game modes include Kill Confirmed, which is basically collect the dog tags your enemies drop or recover your allies dog tags before the enemy gets them. In all the multiplayer is top notch and very enjoyable. Lastly, players can join up together for 2 player Survival mode. This mode functions similar to zombies, but this time your facing off against another army. Players work together and earn cash which can be spent on guns, kill streak support, and other options. All the 16 multiplayer maps can be used in Survival mode. In all MW3 is by far one of the best multiplayers available, and I give it a 10/10.

    Let's start with the single player. It's short, yeah. Everyone has come to expect that from the Call of Duty franchise. The campaign is filled with Michael Bay style set pieces, and cinematic moments that will be stuck in your mind for years to come - much like previous moments in Call of Duty 4, and Modern Warfare 2. The campaign delivers a sweet ending to the Modern Warfare trilogy, complete with epic moments, and emotional moments. The game really leaves me wondering, though - What is next for Infinity Ward?

    Once you've completed the campaign, you've got Spec Ops to look forward to. One mode is similar to its MW2 predecessor - going through moments from the campaign with different objectives, completing them by yourself or with a friend, either on Xbox Live or in split screen. And now, you can even search for people to join you if you're lacking in the friends department. However, Spec Ops is more than this now. There's the newly introduced Spec Ops Survival mode, that puts you and a partner against waves and waves of enemies, ranging from your run of the mill soldier, to dogs with C4 strapped to them. This mode also comes with the ability to rank up, unlock new weapons and killstreaks, such as calling in a Delta squad to assist you in taking out Juggernauts. Overall, this mode is a masterpiece from Infinity Ward.

    Multiplayer, the piece of the game that the majority of players only care about. The internet has been littered with haters screaming, "It's the same game!" Well let me tell you something - It's not. This game plays very differently to MW2. Sure, it's the same style as all of the previous Call of Duty's, but that's because it's a sequel. Infinity Ward would be stupid to go out and completely redesign Call of Duty, when they've got a formula that is almost perfect, and the game increases in sales every year. Packed with new features, weapons, equipment, and maps, this game is definitely huge.

    Modern Warfare 3 is definitely the most balanced Call of Duty to date. As well as that, it is also the most fun, the most action packed, and brings the most content to the table.

    In conclusion, this game is so packed with content that it will take a long time until it's forgotten about. Is it revolutionary? No. Does it need to be? No. The Call of Duty series shows no signs of dying, and you're in denial if you think it is.    … Expand

    Then I bought MW3 at the midnight launch after waiting for 3 hours and I can honestly tell you, that I haven't felt cheated with my purchase....not one bit, even up till now. The game feels a lot like MW2, but unlike most of the morons on Metacritic complaining about how it's not "ground breaking" or anything, what WERE YOU EXPECTING?! You know what I was expecting? Some shooter-tastic fun, and that's exactly what MW3 has given me. How can so many of you guys sit there and say "it's an expansion pack" or "It feels too similar to MW2" when it's obviously quite different from its predecessor. Sure you still Aim down your Sight, and sprint and jump, but why fix what isn't broken? I don't see complaints like this every time a new Pokémon game is released, and that's been sticking to it's samey gameplay for 15 years!

    10 for graphics, they're obviously enhanced over MW2. 10 for sound design, It's done well considering it doesn't have to be put on 2 disks like BF3 had to be (yes, I'm not a PC gamer, so I get pretty much everything for my Xbox...and what?!) it's held up really well. 10 for overall Gameplay because MW3's campaign kept me hooked and entertained me throughout the whole thing, and loved pretty much every bit and I wanted to see how it all concluded. Now BF3...I'm still playing through it and I'm just going "Meh, back to MW3" I also feel like I'm playing the Black Ops campaign again.     This game is really fun but its more of the same CoD. I am a big battlefield fan but the story in MW3 is so over the top and crazy that you can't help but like it. There are hardly any flat maps in this installment. The graphics have been enhanced and they look great.     If your like me and play through the single player probably a few times while owning it then the cinematic experience is very enjoyable as it is like playing through an interactive movie. Not only is is entertaining but MW3 does things in their singleplayer not done in any previous COD game or other shooter that I have played before (fight in dust storm, a few zero g moments in airplane). Multiplayer:

    I haven't played the multiplayer a ton yet but from everything I'm seeing it seems to be MW2 with different maps slightly different perks and some other modifications. Simply if you enjoy the COD multiplayer style (fast paced, smaller maps), then you'll love it.

    MW3 vs. Battlefield:

    I completely disagree with reviewers that say straight up whether or not MW3 is better or worse than Battlefield. In my opinion, it depends what kind of shooter you prefer. First, do you prefer the realism factor? if so add a point for Battlefield. Next, if you enjoy using vehicles, large maps, and huge teams then add a point for battlefield. However, if you enjoy fast paced shooting where you don't have to crawl around and camp for large portions of the session then MW3 is your game.

    Bottom Line:

    I am absolutely loving this game. I know it's supposed to be MW2.5, but so??? All Call of Duty's have historically been very similar. But this one has fixed all of the game breaking, rage inducing problems of its predecessor. I can safely say I am having the most fun here than in any Call of Duty yet.

    Survival mode is good, and better then just spec ops. Multiplayer is good except the maps are too cluttered. Titles and Callsigns make a return which is good. Have yet to try the campaign.

    Servers are slow but as expected, campaign not very long but still interesting, survival mode and spec. ops live up to the great hype they got. excellent, i believe the survival mode is better than zombies. online play will return to the top once the not so serious gamers leave to go and play a new game. let the game settle before you are so quick to judge.

    modern warfare hasn't lost a beat since mw2 and is still the solid shooter i have expected from infinity ward, even after all the shannanigans going on at activision. all the negative scores and zeros are from just trolls and ignorant people that haven't played the game or just want to be a demeanor on something that they don't want to like and have no wish to play.

I beat it in 5 hours, which is short and a little disappointing, but the actions sequences that happen in the game will keep me coming back. I respect the developers for not adding fluff to the story just so I can play for an extra 20 minutes. Besides, if you are only getting this game for the story, you are missing out on some great co-op and multi-player gaming. Sure people are going to hate this game because it is a big name game, but that doesn't mean that is a bad game. Activision and their yearly release of COD game is getting annoying though. They are going to destroy a great series, which is a shame. I will only by the games developed by IW to support them since they are one of the best developers out there at the moment. I would also like to show some love for SeldgeHammer games with their amazing contribution to this series. I hope that they will stay the path with IW to make great games. However the second night everything started clicking and I started learning the maps and boom back to normal having fun and actually playiang with some strategy. It may not be real war and there are still campers but its addictive and full of action! The new Kill Confirmed gameplay is awesome for people like me (and most of us) who love to Run n Gun and get in good gun battles rather than sneaking around hoping someone in a 3 story window is going to snipe me with a crosshair not even close to my body (that really pisses me off BTW). Overall this game on its own is a 10, you cant judge a game off of the past games. MW3 will go down as one of the best COD games of all time. I guess what you can say is that there arent a lot of new additions, however the small additions that were made make this game so much better than the previous versions.… Expand

All it's lacking is 4 player capability. On line a shooter is a shooter, but as i said before, wars aren't just fought by ground troops, and you should be able to hide in the bushes not just beside them. This is just a sum of what i feel, but remember a game is the result of tons of hours and frustration that culminate in a work of art that should be admired as such.     the argument of iteration vs innovation is a valid one - at the end of the day, both are worthwhile pursuits, and it's clear that activision is playing it a little safe by introducing small changes (my favorite being the ability to level up guns) rather than introducing drastic overhauls. the original MW game was such a huge breakthrough you can hardly blame them for sticking close to it's playbook, but that said, if you didn't like it then you're not going to like it now. but for those of us who enjoy it, MW3 is just about what we'd hoped it'd be.    … Expand

    Truly the most polished game to date. Excellent single player with even more epic set pieces. Great Multiplayer which has improved in many areas. Spec Ops is the crowning achievement this time around with an amazing amount of depth and fun to be had. Overall outstanding game which I will be playing till the next one arrives.     All you game freaks that are giving bad reviews have way to high expectations. The game is extremely entertaining, just what you would expect from it. Survival mode is fun, especially when playing with friends. Game is fun and worth it.

    I cant understand why there are so many 0's on here. Sure, many of the aspects of the game remain the same but it does not change the fact that MW3 is still just as addictive as the other games in the series. If people were expecting drastic change from what we have seen before then they are shortsighted to say the least. Why change a winning formula?     I'm actually going to write a review against all negative critics. I have been playing COD franchise since COD1. I bought all COD but this time I thought it is time to switch to BF3. After watching both reviews on GT, BF3 scored 9.2 and MW3 scored 9.3. That little 0.1 made me change and I decided to buy MW3 instead. So why am I giving a 10/10 for MW3? Here is why: COD4 was a huge success and I have to say it was really my first FPS I got addicted with and played COD4 for 1500 hours. COD4 was great and finally a GOOD welcoming change after CSS, Quake, Wolfenstein and TF engines. I remember though at that time people wanted to go back to WW2 style. So Treyarch decided to make WaW which ended up to be a pure disaster. Finally MW2 came out! Although it was a great game, lack of dedicated servers on PC did not make me want to play MW2 a lot. Therefore Treyarch then decided to release BLACK OP re-installing previous dedicated servers. I have to disagree with 85% of negative critics posted here. It is true that MW3 resembles a lot to MW2 but who cares? seriously? I know the franchise has been releasing a game every year? Get it over it lol again who cares? If they want to make money let them be! MW3 is, to me, an awesome game. I started it and I got addicted instantly. MW3 combines all previous years of experience this franchise has gained from COD4, WaW, MW2 and BLACK OP. Guns are really good, I haven't tried all of them yet - but so far rifles are well balanced. SMGs are SMGs. Melee got nerfed slightly to make it more realistic and finally many perks have been reviewed, changed and unlike in BLACK OP, akimbos are now only secondary guns. I am relieved to not see P90 akimbos anymore. As you would expect, MW3 maps are truly well designed. Although there are a lot of openings - you can't really "own" a map as MW3 is based on fast-pace style. It is good (gives new players the opportunity to kill and respawn is almost instant) and bad (for veteran players, it can be sometimes very frustrating - veterans can be killed from any corners) I am also very happy that Infinity Ward has introduced a whole new system in MP that allows you to level up a gun. I also enjoy new perks that can make you invisible to Air Support/Choppers. Finally, perhaps it is only me but I feel like MW3 really learnt from MW2 mistakes and Auto matchmaking on MW3 is fairly solid. The engine is really consistent. New modes such as Survival and Co op mission are really great! See I never really liked Co op mission. But MW3 made me change my opinion! Also if you are a "zombie-fan-kid" like I was in BLACK OP, you will love the survival mode Infinity Ward has introduced in MW3. In addition to people's critics: 1. No real innovation? I don't think so, I think there is when it comes down to perks, guns etc. Although it is minimal it doesn't really bother me like most raging kids. 2. Another cash? LOL so what? seriously who cares? 3. Bored of Campaign? At first I was very excited about MW3 SP, but the more you play the more bored you get. Why? Because you try to finish the game in 7 days. I'm pretty sure if you space out your gameplay you won't find Campaign as boring as most people think. It took me 8hrs to finish Campaign on Veteran mode. 4. MP is exactly the same as in MW2? Yea pretty much and I'm happy about it. BLACK OP wasn't much for me. Im more an Infinity Ward fan… Expand

    Great Game. Some parts are still the same from MW2 but the killstreak system has changed, the ranking system, and you have some new modes added. Campaign is really fun and exciting. Full of intense action parts. Great ending to the series story. The spec ops and survival are great. I loved them.

I will admit that I was a little disappointed that there seems to be less sniper missions than ever before (those were always my favorite) but that aside, the game is awesome. Special Ops missions are really fun, and survival mode is pretty cool too, though I haven't fully sampled all the different levels. In short, if you don't like this game, chances are you don't like shooters in general. There is nothing unlikeable about this game, and the complaint that there are no new mechanics to the game-play only attests to how polished the first Modern Warfare was when it came out. I'd like to point out that Black Ops actually took a lot of the same mechanics that Modern Warfare used, so it's not really fair to bash Modern Warfare 3 for using the same mechanics that it used in Modern Warfare seeing as how the mechanics were (and in my opinion, still are) so advanced when they were first introduced. I do wish they incorporated the running dive that Black Ops had though.… Expand

    Amazing campaign and best multiplayer in the generation. The 3rd in the Modern Warfare saga, the best one. This game destroys BF3 and makes it look like a girlie game.

    Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

    I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
