It does world design beautifully, whilst keeping the serenity of Breath of the Wild. Tears of the Kingdom is one of the best games I have ever played. I am loving every second of it.     I will admit I was unsure about this game for quite awhile. However, after some of the more recent trailers and getting hands on with the game, all my doubts have need eliminated. They took an already fantastic game and managed to make it better and bigger in almost every way. This game is absolutely phenomenal! A must play if you have a Switch in my opinion.

    Muy buen juego, tremenda ambientación, el estilo artístico es impecable y le queda como un guante no todo tiene que ser gráficos ultra realistas para tener buena pinta, la historia y las mazmorras también estan muy bien cuidadas y se sienten como una gran mejora con respecto a su predecesor, muy recomendado el juego

It is an awesome game, I am so far only on the first dungeon, but it is a vast improvement on Breath of the Wild, and that is one of the best games that was ever made. For example, it sort of added crafting mechanics, which players have always been asking for in Botw. It also made the return of traditional more themed dungeons, this makes it a lot more fun, I also quite enjoyed getting to use the champions decedents, and I was positively surprised at how useful they were, like it wasn't just there for the decor, it was actually fighting, and the ability that I got to use so far was very helpful. Finally, I really like the 4 abilities that I have unlocked so far (recall, ascend, fuse, and ultrahand), they are a ton of fun to play with, and it adds a creative aspect to the game. Furthermore, combining all four abilities makes it incredibly good, especially for traversing the land, which, contrary to what some people may want you to believe, was vastly expended, with a vast underground, and a lot of sky traversal. In conclusion, it is an awesome game, and it is totally worth the price!… Expand

    Después de mis primeras 10 horas de juego, debo decir que en ningún momento me he sentido jugando alguna historia adicional del BOTW, nuevas locaciones, nuevos enemigos, santuarios más desafiantes y dificultad un poco más elevada. El basto mapa que se se incluyen con las islas celestes, subsuelo y cuevas, hacen que la experiencia para jugadores antiguas sea innovadora.     Barely into the game thusfar; I have about 50 hours already and I cant even see the final boss insight! The map is nearly 3 times larger than the original with the caves being basically as big as the overworld. The overworld's addtions and the new sky islands make up about an extra 30-60% larger map! The new mechanics are amazing and the story is so far pretty awesome! After having nearlyBarely into the game thusfar; I have about 50 hours already and I cant even see the final boss insight!     It is simply a masterpiece, proving that the graphics at 4k 120fps do not matter when compared to the gaming experience, even though the game is at 720p and 30fps it is very enjoyable, it has very good gameplay, very good story and simply a masterpiece.

    No other games even comes close to comparing. There's so much to do in this world around every corner and the mechanics are mind-blowing. The more you use them the more crazy uses you find and it's just fun to sit there and expirement. This is the greatest game of all time.

However that's only a concern if your obsessed with Zelda lore and even then the gameplay makes it more of a slight annoyance. The gameplay is everything I could have hoped and more.     The best game I have ever played, it’s huge and so fun, it isn’t 70€ dlc pls who plays the game and thinks that? The only time that u could not like the game is if u didn’t liked botw. I played so many hours of botw and there’s so much to do, there are so many new things and secrets in game, so I obviously recommend this game to anyone.

    Not the best thing since sliced bread. Started off great, then descended into the same old **** as the last game. Big open world, random shrines. Underwhelming bosses. and the biggest flaw of them all; HORRIBLE CONTROLS. Good game to pass the time. Greatest game of all time? Hell no.

    Excellent game, there is definetely something magic behind Nintendo, they always brings something new and fresh to the table, Breath Of Wild was incredible, but Tears Of The Kingdom took what made Breath incredible ans took it to another level, thr new mechanics for traveling are insane and the creation of weapons definetely brings a new air to this sequel.

It feels fresh (because of the new abilities, the sky islands, dungeons, new shrines, and the underground). It definitely delivers on what it promised, a decent open world Zelda(puzzle) game. Integrated with fun side quests and plenty of spaces to explore. Brand new customized building mechanics all give returning players a good refresh on what made theIt's a good game, a good expansion on the things BOTW do so well at. I would not call it a DLC though as the world and puzzles got revamped. It definitely delivers on what it promised, a decent open world Zelda(puzzle) game.     At the same time it also carries most of the negatives form its predecessor. Soulless openworld, lack of incentives to explore, combat starts fun but parry is op, rewards are either breakable common gear or stamina and HP from temples, monster variety is just as terrible, story is almost non existent, music is questionable...

    If you were awed by BOTW, you would be awed by this game. But if you weren't convinced by BOTW or if you are like me who never finished the game despite multiples tries. You will definitely question what does make this game fun.    … Expand

    Pas de spoil, juste l'avis d'un joueur amoureux de la licence. Oui, graphiquement, c'est de la Switch, mais dans ce qu'il ce fait de mieux. Et mon seul bémol, c'est la prise en mai, moins fluide et rapide que BOTW. Car les possibilités sont enormes et demandent donc pas mal de manipulation. Mais une fois cette étape passé ? Que du plaisir. On a la possibilité d'effectuer les actions pourPas de spoil, juste l'avis d'un joueur amoureux de la licence. Oui, graphiquement, c'est de la Switch, mais dans ce qu'il ce fait de mieux. Et mon seul bémol, c'est la prise en mai, moins fluide et rapide que BOTW.     Combat still pretty clunky and boring, midway through the game you can use your builds to cheese most enemies
    Cooking is still stupid
    Weapon durabillity still exists and ruins the flow of combat

    Its new fusion system is fun, but its clunky as well, what should be a 5 second mechanic in the inventory turns into a nightmare as you have to: Open the inventory -> Drop the item you want to fuse your weapon with -> select the power -> select the item and then chose the weapon to fuse

    All in all this game is basically BOTW 1.5, it is not enough new to justify a new game in my opinion but it was also more than what you would usually put into an DLC
    In the end its basically if you liked BOTW you like this game cause its almost the same, if you didnt like BOTW you wont like this game.    … Expand

This game is not perfect, the main quest before each dungeon is not great in my opinion and the way botw handle the order of the main quest is also better but the shear amount of content this game have to offer is amazing, the side quests are great and there is a lot of side adventures as it's called in the game witch are long quest with interesting story.     To my mind, building things is not part of a role playing game, it's just boring.

    It does feel just fantastic. The new mechanics are brillant and gives a much of freedom when it comes to solving puzzles and all the sort. I think this is perfect for all those people, which liked BotW so much. And still, it's the same great world than before, but now even bigger. You have the Map of Hyrule again with massive changes, like you maybe knew from World of Warcraft to Cataclysm once. But it's not only an enhanced game world. There is so many new areas in the sky or down below the earth. It's not even possible to imagine how many content this game delivers.

    perfect sequel, there too much thing added and changed but people still calling it a dlc. don't listen to them. they give 0 only because it costs 10 bucks more... (it's the right price, the graphics it's not everything but i would like to see it with just more anti aliasing)

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tears of the Kingdom improves on the main issues of Breath of the Wild: 1) A large world, but lacking content, 2) a lack of an engaging story driving player actions, 3) puzzles based around very specific powers.

    Tears of the Kingdom is massive, adding the sky islands, the depths, and many cave systems. It kicks off with a playable cinematic that sets up the basic plot of the story and leaves the player set to figure out what happened. While most of the story is still in memories, the scenes themselves are more engaging and reveal a wild plot element. The story is furthered by the dungeons and boss battles, which are both more engaging and diverse. The themed dungeons are still non-linear, unlike the classic Zelda dungeons, but the lead up to them has the dungeons themselves are much more involved than the divine beasts. Finally, the three abilities are vastly more simple in their premise, but allow a plethora of solutions and shortcuts ensuring for a unique experience.    … Expand

The best game of the year, don't pay attention to those negative reviews, they are all bitter people who don't know what this game really is, everything changed compared to Breath of the wild, maybe the map is the same but it's so changed that It doesn't feel the same, the abilities are very entertaining to use, I miss the ones from BOTW but honestly these are perfect to cool off a bit, their graphics, even though they are exactly the same, do not cease to amaze how good they look on a nintendo switch, the style artistic of the game is artwork. On top of that the game adds 2 totally new areas on the map, the sky and the underground, the sky are very separate islands full of shrines, puzzles and many more things, and the underground is a hyrule map full of new things and things that You will never expect, the work that Nintendo did to make it so different from Breath Of the Wild is incredible, it has its 10/10 well deserved! highly recommended!!… Expand

    People that say its a DLC/copy and paste obviously havent played the Game. There are many new areas and even the "old" ones have many new things to discover. It really makes BOTW feel like a beta to this new All time great. The abilitys as a whole are a 100/10 and give us endless oportunitys or make our life easier, in my opinion way better than the BOTW abilitys.     TOTK carries most of BOTW's strengths but also some of its flaws. Korrok seeds instead of unique rewards, simplistic combat and story, usage of menus    Tears of the Kingdom is a wholesome, mostly enjoyable adventure game. But six years of development should've resulted in more innovation and refinement. TOTK feels like a sidegrade or reshuffle of its predecessor (BOTW), not a true sequel.

    TOTK carries most of BOTW's strengths but also some of its flaws. Korrok seeds instead of unique rewards, simplistic combat and story, usage of menus interrupting the gameplay flow, breakable equipment that lacks progression, these issues still persist.

    As for new features, the sky islands are an afterthought aside from the tutorial area, fusing does not fix breakable weapons, and the Ultrahand feature absolutely wrecks the framerate. Manipulating the game through crafting contraptions is the best new addition, but it feels more like a cool novelty than something well slotted into the core gameplay.

    Disappointingly, these games continue to be held back by their hardware - playing TOTK would undoubtedly be a better experience on any of the outdated Switch's competitor machines, just like with the previous game.

    Despite these issues, Tears of the Kindgom is a good game that I would recommend to those who seek a mellow but magical adventure. (If you're someone who seeks a gritty or fast-paced experience, look elsewhere.)

    If you observe Tears of the Kingdom in total isolation, it's a good game. As someone who played BOTW and waited six years for a sequel, I cannot help but feel short-changed, as if Nintendo started resting on their laurels after BotW's universal acclaim.    … Expand

    This game has been mediocre so far! The open world is empty and lifeless and the side quests have been really dull. Navigated the open world is more of a chore than it is fun it's just been lackluster in every aspect

I liked BotW but the jury's still out for this one, so giving it a conservative 6, mainly because it    it's not a new Zelda game as much as it's a DLC to / reskin of BotW.

The world feels denser and more lived in. Every character adds to the world. Even in side quests. Next, the new abilities are just so dang fun. You can do anything and solving problems is as creative and ingeniousTears of the Kingdom is a worthy successor to Breath of the Wild that not only reaches the same standard, but often exceeds it, taking the Zelda series to fantastic new heights. You can do anything and solving problems is as creative and ingenious as the person solving them. Because of the rebuilding efforts and the new settlements, the world feels different. Add in upper and lower, and deep lower levels, and the game is massive. Finally, though, I am actually interested in the story. The prologue was stunning, and sits alongside A Link to the Past in great openings to a Zelda game.… Expand

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
