    It has so mindboggingly much quality, handcrafted content and gives you the tools to tackle it all in any way your creativity allows you to, all the while treating you as an adult that doesnt need handholding every few steps of the way. I personally love using 1 handed weapons, I can take a sword, make a 1 handed club, one handed axe, one handed sword etc. I can take a heavy stick, make a 2 handed axe, make a club, make a rock club, really anything. 2. spoilers?     This game is amazing if you liked BOTW, which is what you want in a direct sequel. All it does is improve on what BOTW was. Now that said, it's not like it can't stand on it's own. There was a lot of concern of the map being too much of the same. I, too, shared this. After playing for about 30 hours I can say for sure that's not the case. We get the old map with some additions, and the skyThis game is amazing if you liked BOTW, which is what you want in a direct sequel. All it does is improve on what BOTW was. After playing for about 30 hours I can say for sure that's not the case. We get the old map with some additions, and the sky islands like we saw in the trailers. (Don't read further if you consider a location to be a spoiler) The thing that truly changes the map is the depths. It as as big as the first game's map, and is is completely different. Honestly they could have had the depths as the only map in the game (So long as they added towns to it, which I haven't found in it so far, but I have found a shop), and less people would've complained compared to now. The fact this was never talked about in the marketing is kinda crazy to me.

    The fuse mechanic and Ultrahand are truly amazing. I don't want to talk about them too much, as I feel the joy of thinking "Will this work?" and finding out it does is too great. What I will say is that the fuse mechanic can be used for traversal, not just combat. This is a mistake I've seen some people make. Thinking Ultrahand is for traversal, while fuse is for combat, when in actuality you can use both for both.    … Expand

    This game is amazing. It gives you so much to do, but you can do whatever you want, in the order you want, at the pace you want. I literally spend hours just building things just because I felt like it. Every time I stopped to look around, I always saw a few things near by that seemed interesting. A shrine, a fire, some mini bosses, an interesting looking land mass, and more. This is aThis game is amazing.     basically it's just better breath of the wild. world's been expanded to go into the sky and deep underground, there's a lot more enemies, the abilities are better, and you can actually craft weapons now.

    This game had a lot to live up to for me, since BOTW is my favourite video game ever. And it sure did.
    I could probably write an entire thesis on why this game is a masterpiece, but honestly it wouldn't do it justice so I will just say that you have to play it.

    Easily one of my top 10 games of all time. Everyone assumed it would be the same map as BOTW with a new story, but it's so, so much more than that. Everything that was great about BOTW was tuned expertly and (almost) everything annoying was fixed. The ending is much more satisfying than BOTW also. Highly recommended.

    Easily the best video game I've ever played. TOTK had a lot to live up to with after BOTW but Nintendo has really out done themselves here. There's no end to the amount of things you can do and the creativity you can use while doing them. Just an unbelievable game. I see why this game kept getting delayed!

    I cannot explain how I love this game. It’s just beyond my expectations. I was really not sure how they will give us something that is better than BOTW, but they actually did! If you don’t play this game, you are missing a lot!!

    You know it's good when hours just disappear off the clock for you. I started at 3pm the other day and looked up for the first time expecting 30min to have gone by. WRONG! Two hours had gone by. I'm loving it thus far, but I've only scratched the surface. Don't believe the naysayer red reviews. Not sure what childhood trauma they went through, but it wasn't BOTW's or TOTK's fault. Grow down!

    Incredible. Lives up to and exceeds BOTW so far and I’m only 2 days in. Excited to see what comes next in what seems like will be months of gameplay.

    Improves upon BotW in a variety of ways and has a simply staggering amount of content, the majority of which is very high quality. The story is also a bit of an improvement, though nothing groundbreaking. The new vehicle building mechanics are a great highlight. I do think there could've been a bit less reused music. It's the best Zelda game, and of course well worth playing.

    Played it since Thursday night and have played almost every Zelda game to give context. I absolutely love Tears of the Kingdom! The puzzles are fun and interesting, there is literally a million things to do in the game. Story is dark and compelling. The world is literally huge! Almost overwhelming at times.     Incredible follow up to BotW, improving on it's predecessor in almost every way and expanding significantly with a much bigger world and much bigger amount of content.

    The people who say it runs in 20fps and stutters are liars and clearly didn't play the game, same goes for the people who say the overworld didn't change at all.

    A true masterpiece like the whole series. I finished the main story on 120 hours and I still have a lot of things to do. I love the exploration in this game - as I did on Breath of the Wild - and I also live it's story. I mean, Ganondorf returns after all. However, there is one I didn't like that much compared to the other games in the series. The puzzles, dungeons and shrines, whileA true masterpiece like the whole series. I finished the main story on 120 hours and I still have a lot of things to do. I love the exploration in this game - as I did on Breath of the Wild - and I also live it's story. I mean, Ganondorf returns after all. However, there is one I didn't like that much compared to the other games in the series. The puzzles, dungeons and shrines, while creative due to the new abilities and freedom of Link's actions, where very easy to solve.     It takes what breath of the wild does and makes it better. The game is jam packed with things to do and with new abilities comes new puzzles.

    I have only touched the surface of what this game is but from what i have done, it is so much of an improvement to what was already a great game

Its not a combat game, and rather than just tell you that, TOTK leaves you to just figure it out on your own. The weapons are made to simply fail ASAP making you want to avoid combat. Zero confidence in my weapon, Why would I take a bike ride on a bike that is going to fallA really good puzzle game.     This is the kind of games that i love, i just had the opportunity to finish it days ago, perfect for me, love BOTW now this is a masterpiece, it had some frame drop in some parts but the rest is pretty good, i had a great experience, recommended.

    Easy 10/10, somehow surpasses the original Breath of the wild in pretty much every way which is an accomplishment all itself. Im what i feel is about halfway throughish so far and it has been a joy to play and is very hard to put down. The story feels better this time with more stakes it feels like with some cool twists.     Breath of the wild was amazing in so many ways. It had its issues but it was amazing. This game took that amazing and gave far more of it while trying to takle every single issue that botw had. Most that ive played of these things tackling its issues have worked phenomenally. Resulting in honestly one of the best games ive played in a couple of years.

    Greatest game of all time. I said this previously about breath of the Wild, but this game took that as a foundation and dialed it up to 100. Crazy world building that had me constantly coming back to it. Took me 120 hours to beat the first time and I loved every moment.

This game is one of the greatest video games of all time and I've played them all from Pong till now. I've never played a game that encourages you to explore like this game does,not only that but it rewards you,your constantly finding new things toI'll admit,I was very skeptical of this game at first,I thought like alot of us that it was just gonna be a glorified BOTW DLC,Boy was I wrong. This game is one of the greatest video games of all time and I've played them all from Pong till now. I've never played a game that encourages you to explore like this game does,not only that but it rewards you,your constantly finding new things to do and new ways to play. Just the tutorial is better than 90% of the games out there. The shrines are amazingly fun and they make you better at the game. Iam absolutely blown away by this game. The new abilities are so much fun to play with,youll find yourself sidetracked alot and it's not a bad thing,its the exact opposite,everything about this game is fun. All I can really say is GET THIS GAME,It is without a doubt Game of the year,hands down,this games just amazing. It's rare that I play a game that I cannot put down,I haven't put this much time into a game in years,its just everything that gaming should be.     I'm amazed how they were able to 1-up themselves with this game. Truly is a wonderful experience, the building mechanics are awesome and being able to explore the world again and just get distracted so much doing so many things is just tons of fun. I'll probably be updating this review once I've finished the game, but didn't wanna wait forever to post this.

    They took BotW and made it bigger and better in every way.

    Completely new gameplay mechanics, vastly improved enemy variety, the world is massive, crafting, building, cooking is through the roof.

    One of the best games of all time.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion, Tears of the Kingdom is the pinnacle of gaming, and by that also the best game on the Nintendo Switch. Breath of the Wild, it's predecessor, was also a fantastic game, but it lacked quite a few things to make it perfect: The exploration was often interrupted by rain, it's Version of Ganon felt shallow, collecting the Koroks felt repetetive and even though they were fun to play, the divine beasts weren't unique enough, in the sense that they all shared the same theme. Tears of the Kingdom expandes on all of these things. There are tons of new ways to explore Hyrule wether it is via vehicles that you can design and build yourselft, by using adapted climbing suits, the new ascend ability, and the fuse ability. They also reintroduced traditional dungeons, which is one of my highlights in the game. Though they are a bit easy compared to other entries in the franchise like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, they're still a ton of fun to play. The Hunt for Korok seeds also became a lot more fun, due to the fact that there are some completely new ways to collect them. The story is also very intriguing and delves a lot more into the lore of the series. Just like in breath of the wild, you experience the story via memories that you can obtain by absorbing dragon tears, but there's also another storyline going on in the present, and both of them are connected. This games version of Ganon(dorf) is far better than the one in botw. The map also became far bigger, because this time you don't only play on the Land of Hyrule itself, but also in the sky and in the Underground. Zelda has never been as ambiguous before, as it is in Tears of the Kingdom. It's truly the ultimate gaming experience :)… Expand

    La verdad es no creía que fuese a salir bien porque por lo general las secuelas no superan al original peroooo este supera en casi todo al breath of te wild es increíble lo que lograron hacer con la saga, me tomo más de 100 horas en terminarlo por la cantidad de cosas que había para hacer y aún así me queda tanto por hacer.

    but damn this is a fine game. not even ps5/pc 's 70 buck games hold a chance against this mastahpeece.

    I'm so glad I was wrong. Tears of the Kingdom improves on Breath of the Wild in SO many ways: - Better story - Greater enemy variety: Spoiler, bokoblins, spoiler, Wizrobes, moblins, spoiler, keese, like-likes, spoiler, etc. - Better music - More interesting NPC's -    I was burnt out on Breath of the Wild and was concerned Tears of the Kingdom wouldn't do enough to warrant a playthrough.

    I'm so glad I was wrong. Tears of the Kingdom improves on Breath of the Wild in SO many ways:
    - Better story
    - Greater enemy variety: Spoiler, bokoblins, spoiler, Wizrobes, moblins, spoiler, keese, like-likes, spoiler, etc.
    - Better music
    - More interesting NPC's
    - More locations: Sky, Caves, Underground, Wells.
    - Dungeons
    - More items. Bomb flowers are back! Sticky lizard elixer FTW!
    - More interesting shrines. I paticularly like the ones that take all equipment away and you have to rely on what's given in the shrine to fight.
    - Increased difficulty. Seriously, I've died a lot, and I like that! I've had to make use of items in more interesting ways to win fights and often can't rely just on flurry rush to take down mobs of enemies.
    - Better abilities. Fuse, Ultrahand, Ascension are far more interesting than Stasis, Cryonisis, and Bombs comparing this to Breath of the Wild.
    - Skydiving! The first time you jump off a Sky Island down onto Hyrule is a rush.

    This game is amazing and simply fun to play.

    Some problems I've found include the following:
    - Link doesn't pick up rupees when he walks over them. Each rupee requires a button press which is annoying.
    - Ultrahand can be finicky. While building things is fun, it's also very time consuming. If things are stuck together in the wrong way, unstucking them can make a whole vehicle fall apart :/
    - Horses are pretty useless. You can whistle for them to come to you, but the range of whistling is too short. I wish horses could be summoned wherever you are on the map.

    That said, I still very much enjoy playing Tears of the Kingdom, and imagine playing it for hundreds of hours. I can't believe this amazing world is in the palm of my hands, and I recommend it be in yours. Happy Gaming Gamers :D    … Expand

    Did Nintendo play safe here? For sure, but did it work?absolutely! The game takes a very well known recipe we know it works and added more seasoning, they’ve fixed and improved things from BOTW we didn’t even know it needed improvements in the first place, it’s a great game and it will continue to be played for a really long time due to the endless possibilities of the new building system.

Es cuando avanzas cuando ves lo cambiado que está todo, y todos.. ya que sus habitantes tienen en esta entrega mucho que aportar. Te fijas en los cambios y nuevas localizaciones. No hay lugar para el descanso. Cuando entiendes que esto es un "vuelvo a mi tierra de nuevo para ayudar a que todo vuelva a estar en orden y Paz... es cuando la aventura te engancha y ya no tiene vuelta atrás. Y ahora la historia está mejor estructurada y mejor elaborada que en la anterior entrega. Sus personajes están mas involucrados en la trama. Su recta final es una ida de olla fantástica. Los personajes que te ayudan te hacen sentir menos solo. Me ha hecho sonreír y emocionarme otra vez con los videojuegos. Me lo terminé a los dos meses y llevo otro mes jugando simplemente para completar todas las aventuras y misiones secundarias. Tears of the Kingdom reboza Aventura en mayúsculas por todos lados. Casi no hay limite y ese limite lo marca uno mismo. No hay otra aventura igual, ni su antecesora. Si volvieran a desarrollar un nuevo Zelda donde tuviésemos que recorrer el mismo mapa, a mí no me importaría. Si está hecho con el mismo cariño y buen hacer como este, Hyrule se convertiría una vez más en ese lugar donde siempre apetecería volver. Un juegazo. Y me quedo corto. 10/10… Expand

    This was one of the best sequels I've ever played. Felt like a very powerful entry with great storytelling, pacing, and it felt so powerful towards the end. I had chills and was tearing up because of how much I was loving this as I beat this; then thinking back to how fun breath of the wild was and just felt this intense awe/raw feeling after completing. Haven't felt this way butThis was one of the best sequels I've ever played. Felt like a very powerful entry with great storytelling, pacing, and it felt so powerful towards the end.     Absolute masterpiece. To be honest, Breath of the wild didn't amaze me, but this sequel is just perfect. I played for 100 hours and it didn't bore me for a minute.

    Pure and simple. The best game of all time by far, replacing Brath of the Wild which held this position until now! Dungeons have been added, the crafting mechanics are just out of this world and people are going to keep creating and finding new things in this game for decades to come. Just buy it! No real gamer should miss it, as well as its predecessor!

    I finally completed it after 165 hours. I took me 2 months.

    good story, beautiful visuals and new build gameplay is very addictive.

    I would love to say more but I think enough's already been said about this game.

    This game takes everything that made BOTW great and doubles -and sometimes triples- down on it. And the things from BOTW that were weaker have been drastically improved. Whether it be combat, exploration, puzzles, or story, everything has been improved to some capacity.

    I really dont know how to explain this in detail, but Nintendo managed to elevate a perfect experience to a whole NEW level. Is there a word for more than perfect. This is now The Greatest Game of All time without a doubt, dethroning BotW by a lot.

Everything I ever really wanted, I liked Botw but to me it had some big flaws, lack of real dungeons, lower enemy and boss variety, and at times kinda empty map. Not only do you get dungeons back, you get caves which are basically mini dungeons in their own right, same with shrines. The reintroduction of like-likes, gibdos, and what are basically floor masters, and basically kargaroks, really round out the enemy variety, the reintroduction of gleeoks and gohma is awesome and all the other new bosses are real fun as well, story was great, I often felt more rewarded when completing a side quest as the rewards were often more worthwhile, side quests were much more memorable than Botw. It’s just better in every way, and then you add on, sky island and depth exploration, as well as weapon fusion and building and there’s no doubt in my mind that this game is a masterpiece.… Expand

And well, what a masterpiece there, every single aspect I was frustrated about has been reworked/twisted.     Graphics are what they are due to hardware limitations but I met not one single bug and it globally runs smooth.
    The story I thought at first was less intense than BOTW proves itself to be a least on the same heights at last. The world is coherent, musics are neat and well designed/ timed.
    The only "cons" may be the main story bosses which are way too easy and not much of a challenge compared to BOTW's ones.
    This one of the rare game which left me with somewhat of a feeling of emptiness after the ending and that is a sign of greatness for me.    … Expand

    Completely redesigned gameplay based on new mechanics with the addition of the basic mechanics from the previous game is simply breathtaking. It would take too long to describe. Try it yourself, you won't regret it. 10/10

    I don’t believe I have ever put so many hours so quickly into a game before. It’s addicting and so difficult to put the game down. It builds on an already spectacular breath of the wild to a game that will certainly become a classic

    I love this game! I have spent 40 hours in TOTK and I have only completed the first temple.
    Things that are better than BOTW: Better load times, WAY bigger map(s), less stuttering (The 30fps are pretty consistent), much more options in combat and exploration due to the new abilities. More unique monsters and optional boss fights.

    What can I say? You grab your Nintendo Switch starts playing Tears of the Kingdom and 10 hours have passed in a blink of an eye. It's a straight upgrade from Breath of the Wild. Best game ever made!

    Gameplay, level design are some of the best I’ve seen in any game in my life. It’s so damn fun and designed so smartly.

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
