    Breath of the Wild was already one of the best games ever, 10/10, but Tears of the Kingdom somehow one-ups that. There's almost infinite more things to do in this game, and I haven't even completed a single dungeon. Also the combat system is actually now one of my favorites in any game, with each weapon from the previous game having a unique attribute like "quick charge", and then you addBreath of the Wild was already one of the best games ever, 10/10, but Tears of the Kingdom somehow one-ups that. There's almost infinite more things to do in this game, and I haven't even completed a single dungeon. Also the combat system is actually now one of my favorites in any game, with each weapon from the previous game having a unique attribute like "quick charge", and then you add power to it via damage or elements. The puzzles in the shrines are also crazy good compared to Breath of the Wild. Anywho... This review is getting too long so that's all.… Expand

    The Legend of Zelda Tears of the kingdom was a game worth waiting for. The surface was completely redone with little aspects staying the same. The skies are amazing! Just every part of them is great. The puzzles, the NPCs and the lore as well. The Depths are amazing as well. When I first discovered them, I was truly amazed. It just keeps on going.

    Another thing I want to mention is the variety of enemies in this game. In BotW, you had your classic Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos and Lynels with a few others. Now we have redeads, Like Likes, many types of constructs, underground variants, even the classical enemies have horn variants. There is so much.

    Finally, I want to mention the exploration. In BotW, you were like "Oh, look, a cool mountain!" and you can go there. In TotK, you have just so much around you. You get a main quest but you get sidetracked 15 times before you actually arrive to the location. Imaging you want to go to Rito Village, you hop on your horse and off you go. In front of you is a Malice hole. Then you find an NPC with a quest and suddenly when you finally get back on track a rock falls from the sky waiting for you to recall it. Just so so much concentrated in this truly immensely massive game. Worth the wait.    … Expand

    Extremely addictive, this game is just so incredible. I can't understand how they make BoTW looks much worse than this game.
    You can play this for hours and you will not notice it, definitely the Game of The Year and the Game of the Decade.

    You have to play for a long time to be actually able to say that this is the definite version of a Zelda game, it brings back a lot from previous games and still keeps the good feeling of them. The story is incredible and very long, the dungeons are back! You cannot complain this time.

    Absolutely breathtaking. Better than BOTW in nearly every sense. The world is bigger and better, and while i have just finished the main storyline, I still have hours more to go to find all this game has to offer. My only real complaint is the lack of post game- it uses the same "star profile" system that BOTW uses, which I wasn't a fan of then and feels even more disappointing this time.Absolutely breathtaking. Better than BOTW in nearly every sense. The world is bigger and better, and while i have just finished the main storyline, I still have hours more to go to find all this game has to offer. My only real complaint is the lack of post game- it uses the same "star profile" system that BOTW uses, which I wasn't a fan of then and feels even more disappointing this time. The Sage power system is also much clunkier than it's predecessor (aka blessings from the champions).

    This game was incredibly hard for me to judge, mostly because this game has everything breath of the wild has and more, and Breath of the Wild to me, was a ten out of ten. At the start of playing this game, if you had asked me what I would give it, I would probably say something like an eight, not too amazing. The main criticism I have is for the writing. I think the overall story is fine, zelda games have never had complex stories or characters, but the writing for the dialogue was sometimes jarring for me.

    I am very interested to see the speedrun for this game, because I have no idea what sort of travel method is the most efficient for a speedrun of this game, as far as I know they patched a lot of the bugs that were used in speedruns, and there is no stasis launching. i also felt the bosses were a lot harder in this game and they fixed a lot of the balancing issues that were in Breath of the Wild. Even getting to the final boss is difficult due to how they place enemies, and the heart stealing mechanic makes the final fight incredibly hard without food, armour and lots of hearts.    … Expand

    Breath of the wild was amazing in so many ways. It had its issues but it was amazing. This game took that amazing and gave far more of it while trying to takle every single issue that botw had. Most that ive played of these things tackling its issues have worked phenomenally. Resulting in honestly one of the best games ive played in a couple of years.

    Did Nintendo play safe here? For sure, but did it work?absolutely! The game takes a very well known recipe we know it works and added more seasoning, they’ve fixed and improved things from BOTW we didn’t even know it needed improvements in the first place, it’s a great game and it will continue to be played for a really long time due to the endless possibilities of the new building system.

    Spectacular game. The open world is dense and full of stuff to do, great dungeons and bosses. Combat is fun as hell and the story made me tear up multiple times. Truly a worthy sequel to BOTW

    I think a lot of people review bombing this are Final Fantasy fanboys who are desperate for their soon to be released FF16 to be GOTY. What a whack crowd.

    Unfortunately the framerate isn't great, but this isn't really TOTK's fault, it's the Switch's, and the chip shortage likely prevented them from making a Switch pro.

    There are other cons, but they're far outweighed by the pros. I spent like 20 hours on this game in the opening weekend alone, and I could go for much longer. The world is just filled to the brim with so much stuff to do! One of the Switch's best games for sure.

    I see people saying it doesn't deserve the $70 price tag because it looks and runs worse than the other next gen games that are priced for $70, but while graphics ARE Important don't get me wrong, this game justifies it's price tag in other ways. It's definitely worth $10 more than most Switch games priced at $60. Yes, many Switch games are overpriced at even that amount, but many others are plenty worth $60, and TOTK is worth $10 more than those aswell. Fantastic game.    … Expand

    Nunca disfrute tanto como con BOTW y en 6 años ningún juego lleno esa experiencia sin igual, en estos 3 días no solo volví a experimentar esa gran sensación en un videojuego si no que con más pasión, al igual que BOTW no es perfecto ya que nada lo es, sin embargo, es lo más cercano a serlo para mi, lo jugaré por 200 o 400 horas seguro.     I don’t know how they did. They managed to double the size of the map with underground depths. And have huge expansive sky islands. Everything in this game that you do feels like a discovery you made. Just buy this game, you can play it everywhere and anywhere. If any game was worth $70 it’s this one. There won’t be a game like this for a long time.

    Simplemente increíble, uno de los mejores juegos de aventuras mejor creados por Nintendo hasta la fecha. Mantiene y mejora unas físicas pulidísimas que rara vez se pueden ver en otros títulos. Las mecánicas jugarles y habilidades están tan perfectamente integradas que supone un reto constante a la creatividad para la imaginación. La historia con la narrativa supera por mucho a suSimplemente increíble, uno de los mejores juegos de aventuras mejor creados por Nintendo hasta la fecha. The review bombing "reasons" have little to do with how much you give a score something. I base my score on how much I enjoyed the game. Of course if you didn't like breath of the wild, you really shouldn't have bought Tears of the Kingdom. And if you did like breath of the wild, how is improving on what's already there and adding new enemies, features, music etc a bad thing? Whether or not it's worth 70 dollars is a different topic entirely, and shouldn't be a factor in a games score. Money has nothing to do with whether or not you gave a game a 0 or a 10. Like literally nothing.

    The map is almost the same from BotW, But now have 3 layers instead of only one, The animations and some of the weapons are the same from BotW, But there is a totally new story, new enemies, new bosses, new shrines, New Powers and improved gameplay. The game is a gem, Strong contender for GOTY! Very fun and over 50 to 100 hours of gameplay. I do recommend to everyone!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion, Tears of the Kingdom is the pinnacle of gaming, and by that also the best game on the Nintendo Switch. Breath of the Wild, it's predecessor, was also a fantastic game, but it lacked quite a few things to make it perfect: The exploration was often interrupted by rain, it's Version of Ganon felt shallow, collecting the Koroks felt repetetive and even though they were fun to play, the divine beasts weren't unique enough, in the sense that they all shared the same theme. Tears of the Kingdom expandes on all of these things. There are tons of new ways to explore Hyrule wether it is via vehicles that you can design and build yourselft, by using adapted climbing suits, the new ascend ability, and the fuse ability. They also reintroduced traditional dungeons, which is one of my highlights in the game. Though they are a bit easy compared to other entries in the franchise like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, they're still a ton of fun to play. The Hunt for Korok seeds also became a lot more fun, due to the fact that there are some completely new ways to collect them. The story is also very intriguing and delves a lot more into the lore of the series. Just like in breath of the wild, you experience the story via memories that you can obtain by absorbing dragon tears, but there's also another storyline going on in the present, and both of them are connected. This games version of Ganon(dorf) is far better than the one in botw. The map also became far bigger, because this time you don't only play on the Land of Hyrule itself, but also in the sky and in the Underground. Zelda has never been as ambiguous before, as it is in Tears of the Kingdom. It's truly the ultimate gaming experience :)… Expand

    First of all yes the game reuses the same surface map, although it’s not the same, for example all of the lava in death mountain is gone for the most part, and none of the towers and shrines from the previous game are there anymore. Tears of the kingdom map is easily DOUBLE the size of breath of the wild’s map, the game has new caves, sky islands, and a completely new map called the depths which goes through all the underground of hyrule, so no it’s not just the same map, it’s double the size.

    The gameplay is not the same, all of the old abilities have been replaced with new ones that are more useful and fun to use such as the ultra hand which allows you to build all sorts of things, or a new ability that allows you to combine items which can be used to make a flamethrower spear.

    The towers and shrines do return however, but the shrines are a lot more fun to complete and doesn’t feel much like a chore anymore, with the new abilities the game allows you to complete the puzzles in multiple creative ways and it’s not as repetitive like in Breath of the wild. You no longer have to climb all the towers to unlock the map, instead it’s a mini side quest that takes around a minute or 2 to complete, and once you’ve done it the tower launches you high in the air which is useful to explore the sky islands.

    The dungeons are really well made and fun to explore, they are not like the traditional Zelda dungeons but me and my friend spent a couple hours taking turns solving the puzzles of the fire temple, and that convinced him to buy the game, it was a blast, although you still have to activate terminals to fight the boss (By the way the bosses are way better than botw). This game is so fun to play, and it’s definitely a worthy sequel of BOTW that improves in most of the aspects from the previous game.

    Only real complaint is the frame rate, but that’s not a game issue, it’s a switch issue.

    One of the rare games today that isn't sold half finished, this game has the sense of discovery and wonder similar to playing BOTW for the fist time. It also contains a ton of content and locations to explore. The graphics are outstanding and it looks fantastic at 30 frames per second, making it clear why this game is such a gem.

    How did they Jam Pack all of this into a switch game I’ll never know. There are side adventures that last longer than some games main quest lines.     Some people are hating on this game for no reason, if you liked Botw you will love this game, the only bad thing its the performance, sometimes it drops to 15/20 but is much less frequent on the Doc, I absolutely recommend!

    ive been waiting for this since it announced in 2019 and this game makes breath of the wild look bad in comparison.. it basically took botw, times'd it by 3, and fixed almost all my issues i had with the original game

    Una maravilla, si ya BOTW era un juegazo este le da dos vueltas, mapa increíble y lleno de vida, apartado gráfico, que obviamente no me refiero a potencia, maravilloso, historia excelente, mecánicas que dan para horas y horas de diversión y exploración, simplemente una obra maestra.

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement.
