    This game was a real treat. I loved it and I appreciate games like this that are linear, short, and hugely story-based. Especially nowadays, in 2022, when every game has to be 100h of mostly slog and/or live service. I love the world they built here.

The game switches from being about a cat separated from its group, to another fetch quest game. The robots were fun to interact with at first, but you realize slowly that the developers forgot that their game is about the damn cat.

    Really fun and wholesome game about a cat song fetch quest in a uniquely designed futuristic setting. Kinda like Untitled Goose game but it takes itself more seriously. Had a great time with it, ran super smooth and no issues during my play through. The only thing bad I can say about this game is screw that "can't cat-ch me" trophy, iykyk.

    Definitely a contender for game of the year! A beautiful, engaging and fun game that is executed with subtle perfection. Reminded me of City of Ember in its plot, the concept design and how the game forces you to actively explore is very rewarding. I do hope they make a sequel

    Stray is a fun, relaxing game that, if you’ll forgive the pun, strays from the decision of so many game developers today to create experiences that are as exclusionary and ball-crushingly difficult as possible.

    Come for the cat, stay for the intriguing environments and characters.

    I completed the game in 6 hours in my first casual playthrough. The game is nice and looks incredible.

Basically, I can do almost everything that cats do.
    I like the soundtrack. It fits with the sneakiness, swiftness, and cuteness of the mysterious cat.    … Expand

    I’m a dog person through & through, but Stray has me wanting a little kitty of my own since completing it! This game is seriously too cute to handle at times. I really loved my time with Stray even if it was painfully short lived.
    This game is gorgeous on PS5 & fully takes advantage of the Dualsense controller in masterful ways. I love the dedicated meow button too, instant 10/10. Leaping around obstacles as a cat while causing some mischief here & there never got old. The level design is really something special, the sound design & soundtrack help add layers to it as well, I really loved the ambience of Stray’s OST. The game also tends to go into horror-lite places at times & it was honestly more effective than some of the actual horror games I’ve played recently! I didn’t expect a cat game to have an engaging story but we did get one with a lot of intrigue & lingering questions. I was invested in the characters even with the short time they got to shine.
    The main downside to Stray is sadly the same complaint most people had with it, the short length is a real detriment. While there’s only so much you can do as a cat in a cat video game, I truly wouldn’t have minded a few more hours of doing whatever cats want to do, that’s how enjoyable the gameplay was to me. I really hope the developers take what they did right here & take some of the criticism to build a truly great sequel, if that’s possible. I have too many questions with the subtle story & a creeping need to play as a cat again.
    Overall I‘ll be fondly reminiscing on my short time with the little Stray & their robot companions for a while to come.    … Expand

    Charming, wonderful to gaze at, fun to play and full of personality.
    Add an Amazing soundtrack to a moving Story with Classic Cyberpunk themes, and you get One of 2022's best games so far.

En primer lugar, esto es lo que debería ser un juego independiente, Stray es realmente una obra maestra, aunque me llevó alrededor de 6 horas terminar el juego, me hubiera gustado que durara más, pero considerando que, como se mencionó, es un juego independiente, tiene sentido.

    Ahora, me gustaría mencionar algunos puntos en los que creo que el juego podría mejorar:

    El juego dura alrededor de 5-6 horas si lo juegas de manera relajada, aunque puedes terminarlo en 2 horas o incluso menos, sé que, sé que es un juego independiente, pero han hecho un trabajo tan increíble aquí que ¡quiero más!

    En algún punto del juego, B-12 se siente como el personaje principal, no es que esto sea algo malo, pero puede resultar confuso quién es realmente el protagonista después de todo.

    Los saltos son imposibles de fallar, no puedes equivocarte en un salto, literalmente, no puedes.

    Me gustaría un poco de combate, no hay ninguno, en la vida real los gatos pelean, pero en el juego parece que el gato es doméstico, y el nombre del juego dice lo contrario.

    Ahora me gustaría destacar lo que amé del juego:

    La historia se cuenta de manera perfecta, se te da suficiente información sobre lo que le ocurrió a los humanos y por qué estás donde estás.

    El movimiento del gato es justo como debe ser, se siente bien.

    El comportamiento del gato es preciso.

    Gracias por el botón de maullido.

    Los gráficos son sorprendentes, para ser un juego independiente, los gráficos superaron mis expectativas.

    Me gustó cómo los robots eran tiernos con el gato.

    Realmente siento que este juego es una obra maestra, merece mucho reconocimiento y la gente merece jugarlo, lo amé.    … Expand

    Absolutely gorgeous game. Incredible art style, innovative music, and realistic cat animations. There was so much heart and sincere effort put into this game. Highly recommend it.

    Surely being in control of a cat, with everything that comes with it such as meowing repeatedly, breaking stuff, pushing stuff off tables, and overall being annoying, is a big part of why the game is fun, but    Unlike what a lot of people have been saying, this game is not just for people addicted to cats and cat memes. Behind all the cat-ing and memes, hides a pretty interesting game.

    Surely being in control of a cat, with everything that comes with it such as meowing repeatedly, breaking stuff, pushing stuff off tables, and overall being annoying, is a big part of why the game is fun, but the setting and the story are actually very interesting, even the robot characters are very charismatic and the world feels very much alive.

    The exploring and "parkour" are not as free as people could be expecting, but the limitations actually make it so the game flows well and you wont be getting angry you missed a jump and fell, or something like that.

    Definitely give this game a try if you want to have some cat-sual time in a dystopian future.    … Expand

    Solides Spiel mit einer tollen Geschichte. Das Gameplay macht wirklich Spaß. Für ein Indiespiel ist das wirklich eine tolle Arbeit, da steckt viel Liebe drin. Sollte man mal gespielt haben, auch wenn man keine Katzen mag ;)

    8.5/10 pretty good enviroments, sounds/soundtracks, movement/response, full of details, easter eggs all over the place, some retro vibes as well, graphics not impressive tbh but its an indie, is understandable. Graphics wise not impressive TBH, however the storyline and replayability is where it makes mistakes, those mini missions for example some of them are just forgettable just like8.5/10 pretty good enviroments, sounds/soundtracks, movement/response, full of details, easter eggs all over the place, some retro vibes as well, graphics not impressive tbh but its an indie, is understandable. Graphics wise not impressive TBH, however the storyline and replayability is where it makes mistakes, those mini missions for example some of them are just forgettable just like the storyline, it kinda doesnt offer you a good experience for 3rd/4th+ runs, once you finish it Id say youd try something else.     I greatly enjoyed Stray's aesthetic and world building. The city and the robots felt realized and a connected to each other. The actual gameplay was very simple but managed to stay entertaining enough due to the games very short runtime of around 4 hours.     A unique game with some downsides on difficulty and length. If you are looking for a shorter more casual game this is definitely for you. its a very different experience than what you will get in most other games and really packs in a lot in a 4 to 6 hour campaign.

    Um ótimo jogo Indie. Stray é um dos exemplos de como uma iniciativa simples pode surpreender parte do público gamer, a profundidade da história e as mecânicas do game fez eu me sentir jogando um grande Triple A. Incrível, parabéns a Annapurna. Ah! Não é apenas um simulador de gato.

    The gameplay is refreshing and fun. The one thing i dont like about it is the jump prompt can mess you up. The graphics are are clear and visually stunning. I recommend this title.

    Un Juego que poco a poco te sumerge en la vida de este gato que vive en un mundo postapocalíptico, con una buena jugabilidad y por medio de ingenio hay que abrirse paso por diferentes escenarios. Una buena trama, lamentablemente quizás es demasiado corto para lo bueno que es.

    I loved so much this game. The story is so much different compared to other thousands robot stories and the details you can see in the game are impressive. Longevity is very short but you’re gonna take time just to collect all the memories and badges. The setting is just amazing you’re gonna feel claustrophobic in every single street you put paws on. My only complaint is the end--I love a bittersweet conclusion, but I feel like the payoff on the sweet side was incomplete. The bitter was what happened to B12, so it should have been sweetly rewarded by fulfilling the bookend set by the prologue, and you would be hard-pressed to convince me otherwise.

    Aka, (spoiler) if the game provided closure by reuniting the cat with its family/colony, this would have been a 10 for me. But without that, it's unsatisfying, for all that the rest of the game is just GREAT.    … Expand

    Still haven’t finished the game, but it incredibly satisfying to watch. Unfortunately scripted platforming makes the otherwise extremely fluid and seem less experience feel a little more clunky than it should, but nonetheless even with its simplicity it seems to have an intriguing story and cats, which is more than enough for a good score

Когда я начал проходить игру я оказался в трубе как все вообще, и первое впечатление было что тут можно, мяукать, пить воду, играть с другими кошаками, да и вообще тут графика топ и хорошая. Но первых 10 минут я настраивал графику и проверял фпс, как так я немножко графо-дрочер, ничего личного, просто графика.

    Графика и баги

    Тут у меня есть некоторые пожелания разрабам, вообще я купил игру для того что-бы не было лагов и кастрирования игры, а еще что-бы поддержать разработчиков, компашка то у них маленькая знаете-ли? Ну что-же там про графу, графа на Unreal Engine 4? отпад, просто отпад пипиструна от стояка, но если смотреть на правую кнопку мыши в какие-нибудь каменные или гранитные текстуры, то можно увидеть мыльцо, тоесть шампунь. А так неоновые огни топ, (если хотите посмотреть графику игры Stray просто откройте мой профиль, там на витрине весит скрин, с Paralax, кстати про паралакс, (объемное текстурирование) он там есть и много. Если посмотреть скрины к примеру с видяхи GTX1650 на высоких может показаться что там есть RTX, но там его нет, это я вам на ушко шепнул, никому не говорите! Про баги, они там есть и достаточно много, но это пустяки, но они там есть, к примеру ка нелогичные вещи и т.д, но это реально пустяки, или нет?

    Сюжет

    Сюжет неееемного растянутый но что-уж, ждем разрабов. А если подумать то ну сюжет хороший, особенно решение головоломок, HALF-LIFE за котика как я уже говорил, ну что сказать трогательно, на конечных сценах я одну слезу пустил. Кстати брал игру за 700 рублей. Я богатый.

    Вывод

    Игра своих денег стоит, подтверждаю, 7,7 из 10 по моим оценкам. Спасибо что прочитали руководство, всем пока-пока!    … Expand

    I have played and enjoyed whole game for last week but 5 hours is enough to end main story. In game you won't find any telling dialogues but maybe it is beauty of story. Story is not long but is very interesting. Developers prepared some easy and level medium logic quests but all what players need to do is find another way. Environment is very breathtaking.     Que maravilla, este juego se está a empezando a sobrevalorar por culpa de los fans solo por el simple gatito (me incluyo) pero hay que reconocer que tiene más cosas que solo el gato, el mensaje que te da, los gráficos impresionantes que tiene y esa corta pero increíble historia. No soy la persona que más Indies ha jugado pero gracias a títulos como este me dan cada vez más ganas me metermeQue maravilla, este juego se está a empezando a sobrevalorar por culpa de los fans solo por el simple gatito (me incluyo) pero hay que reconocer que tiene más cosas que solo el gato, el mensaje que te da, los gráficos impresionantes que tiene y esa corta pero increíble historia.     The game was surprisingly good for a game where you can play as a cat, there was alot of good puzzles and missions in this game, the story wasn't great and it felt like there was no main goal but helping people, a few bits where rushed and the game was very short, characters felt hard to like but the memories things was good and the views were good, would make a great open world game.     This game is a casual RPG where you play the role of a cat in a world clouded in mystery. Humans are long gone with all that remains of them is a robot civilization with little record of the past.     Everyone fell in love with Stray when it was first announced. A game where you play as a cat wandering around a post apocalyptic city? Sign me up. Well, it does live up to that hope we had. It was very fun and happy I played it.

    Competently made with great sound design and a well executed thought-provoking message on totalitarian capitalism in a beautiful dystopian setting, that unfortunately falls a bit short due to its overly-simplistic gameplay and somewhat underwhelming story. Nowhere near GOTY material, but keep your expectations low and you’ll have a great time, nonetheless.

Who cannot interact with other humans, but meows at other cats, which is pretty weird considering cats aren't particularly talkative to each other and instead rely on body language and scent marking 99% of the time. The way cats can jump, dart around extremely quickly are things that we cannot duplicate in terms of animation or movement, so of course you are given a light "jog" and contextual button prompts that trigger a smooth animation for jumping, but only in the most basic way a cat jumps up or down from places.

    Scratching serves no purpose, nor does lapping up water. I don't want to larp as a cat, I'm a human being and its not practical to do any of those things if they have no underlying mechanic or reason to be there other than, "its what cats do." I own two cats, and they would've been just as bored watching me play "Stray" as I was. Sure its cute, but with the kind of technology we have I would've expected something a little more complex than a walking simulator where they swapped the dog out for a cat instead. Furthermore, although it accomplishes its goals of being a "cat linear-cinematic-platformer with puzzle-solving elements," who cares? Me walking downstairs, opening the door to my bathroom and taking a crap is an interactive cinematic experience, and at least I get something out of it after its all said and done.

    Call me when they can actually figure out how to program a cat that acts like a cat.    … Expand

    Some minor things that bothered me are for example mirrors that one show blurry shades instead of real mirrored image. That doesn't fit to the rest of the game, in my opinion. For the first two hours of playing this, I liked progressing and moving from place to place but couldn't identify a deep narrative or engaging gameplay. Long-ass fetch quests are the bane of my existence so seeing one within the first hour and a half into the game got me a little scared it would become a recurring theme, but it didn't, thank god. Toward the back half of the game, I really started enjoying myself as I explored Midtown, a much larger, more detailed area. They also introduced stealth segments I felt should have been in the game from the beginning, considering sneaking around as a cat is so fun. The story also stuck the landing as B-12, the companion robot, started leaking deets about his past life as a human, a welcome twist that gave the narrative the edge it so desperately needed. Overall, well worth $30, and that best indie debut award it found at the VGAs this year.… Expand

    it's a beautiful game and it's fun being a cat, but the decision to make a flawed speedrun mode as a trophy lows it's value considerably. cutscenes are unskippable and count against your time. you have to wait for the ai to slowly unlock doors or walk across a courtyard. in short, it was a big time fail in that regard, and needlessly so.

    A brief atmospheric adventure in the cyberpunk setting. The game resembled a cat walking simulator.
    I spent two wonderful evenings playing.
    Dualsense is ideal when bundled with Stray.
    The simplicity of the locations and also the finale of the plot, slightly disappointed.
    There are few bugs, thanks to QA.

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
