    I guess I’m the only one who didn’t like it. The physics are awful. The controls felt old and janky to me. The graphics weren’t that special. I never enjoyed playing it. I truly think this is the most overrated game of the year. I do love that it is free and bold new direction.

    Played it on PS5. It's a nice, short game with great looks.
    The story itself is okay, the end is a little predicrable however and felt a bit too forced.
    Some minor things that bothered me are for example mirrors that one show blurry shades instead of real mirrored image. That doesn't fit to the rest of the game, in my opinion.     I love the interaction with the robots, the puzzles, the graphics, the humor, that special meowity. The game is made with a lot of love… but! I hate the Zurks. These parts are so… distracting and stressing. They‘re really ruining the mood for me. Too much Zurks.

    At first, Stray was cute. I wondered what was around the next corner. But then, when the first puzzle was infront of me, i did not know what to do. i dont like the feeling when i am clueless. One cryptic puzzle is no big deal i thought. It is the little things that furiated me. time after time. where to go. i dont know. A futuristic DARK world with strange monsters who wants to kill me.At first, Stray was cute. I wondered what was around the next corner.     Its a game with a dystopic backdrop where you control a Cat who cannot be programmed to solve complex puzzles, because its a cat. Who cannot interact with other humans, but meows at other cats, which is pretty weird considering cats aren't particularly talkative to each other and instead rely on body language and scent marking 99% of the time. The way cats can jump, dart around extremelyIts a game with a dystopic backdrop where you control a Cat who cannot be programmed to solve complex puzzles, because its a cat. Who cannot interact with other humans, but meows at other cats, which is pretty weird considering cats aren't particularly talkative to each other and instead rely on body language and scent marking 99% of the time. The way cats can jump, dart around extremely quickly are things that we cannot duplicate in terms of animation or movement, so of course you are given a light "jog" and contextual button prompts that trigger a smooth animation for jumping, but only in the most basic way a cat jumps up or down from places.

    Scratching serves no purpose, nor does lapping up water. I don't want to larp as a cat, I'm a human being and its not practical to do any of those things if they have no underlying mechanic or reason to be there other than, "its what cats do." I own two cats, and they would've been just as bored watching me play "Stray" as I was. Sure its cute, but with the kind of technology we have I would've expected something a little more complex than a walking simulator where they swapped the dog out for a cat instead. Furthermore, although it accomplishes its goals of being a "cat linear-cinematic-platformer with puzzle-solving elements," who cares? Me walking downstairs, opening the door to my bathroom and taking a crap is an interactive cinematic experience, and at least I get something out of it after its all said and done.

    Call me when they can actually figure out how to program a cat that acts like a cat.    … Expand

    Le jeu est sympa, une bonne ambiance, une DA plutôt bien faite et un peu original. L'ambiance est sympa aussi.
    Par contre on tourne un peu en rond assez vite concernant les énigmes très simplistes. Enigmes qui malheureusement n'apporte rien au jeu et n'ont pas forcément de lien avec le monde dans lequel tu es.

Le seul bon point ce sont les souris robot qui donne un peu de contenu dans le game design mais bon au bout d'un moment c'est répétitif. Il y a un robot qui vous suit B12 si je me souviens bien, qui est là pour vous aider.
    En fin de compte j'ai l'impression que le jeu est fait pour les enfants. C'est pas un reproche mais c'est tellement simple et linéaire que ça leur convient très bien. D'ailleurs mon cadet y a joué et a aimé parce que très accessible pour lui. Et tant mieux d'avoir un jeu pour eux bien fini et de qualité graphique correct pour une fois.
    L'histoire elle n'a pas grand intérêt vu qu'elle est un peu inexistante et que le monde dans lequel nous avançons n'a que très peu d'explication.
    Le jeu se termine très très vite, en une soirée hop c'est fini.
    L'ambiance et le fait qu'on joue un chat dans un monde d'androïde est pas mal et original, mais je pense que d'ici quelques jours je l'aurai oublié malheureusement. Mais en fin de compte je retiens un manque d'aventure et de liberté, d'intrigue bien trop légère.
    Il y a des bugs de collision qui sont un peu énervant par moment.
    Pour résumé un jeu sympa, qui se fini très vite, avec une gameplay simple et des énigmes très simple, mais qui conviendra très bien aux enfants et tant mieux dans un sens.
    Je met donc cette note parce que c'est un jeu indé, mais si c'était un jeu plus ambitieux ou d'un studio avec de l'expérience et plusieurs jeux derrière eux, j'aurai pas mit la moyenne car bien trop simpliste, avec trop peu de contenu et qui se repose sur leur originalité de jouer un chat dans un monde d'androïdes.    … Expand

    5 puntos por qué se ve muy bien y como todos los juegos exclusivos el dualsense está muy bien manejando , pero es tremendamente aburrido me estaba quedado dormido ya parecen jugadores de xbox cómo está PSPlus y no cuesta ya lo ven bien, verdad que todo lo que no cuesta sabe mejor jajajaja

    Неплохой платформер с симпатичной графикой и неплохой музыкой. Однако таких оценок явно не заслуживает и если бы героем был не милый кот, то игра бы позабылась всем уже на следующий день

    A huge flaw with the game is that there are creatures that attack the cat and kill it. This is very shocking to sensitive girls! My 26 years old girl friend started crying and the evening was ruined.

    There should be a warning and a safe mode for a relaxed play without fear that anything would happen to the cat. The game is beautiful and plays well. It's just ruined by this one flaw!

    Prepare to be whiskered away by this impurresive cat-centred adventure title that is brief but cute and worthwhile. The cyberpunk inspirations are rousing, but a cat-lead adventure could stand to be cuter and cuddlier, rather than a reminder of grimy triple A fare.

    I really wanted to like this game. But the cutesy cat wears off quickly and the level design is so very frustrating! And you have to go back and forth, many times to the entire area...without any map!     Solid cat adventure game. I would have given this game an 8, if it wasnt a tale of two halves for me. I was not a big fan of the first couple of hours, but absolutely loved and adored the second half of the game. Beat it in 5 and a half hours.

    Pros: - Press O to meow. - therapeutic purring - second half and ending was just memorable. - some cool level designs Cons: - First half    Solid cat adventure game. The game consists of you, the cat, trying to get to the surface to meet your cat friends by progressing through the game by solving a couple of basic puzzle platformer type puzzles. The puzzles aren't engaging and the world, while dominated by sentientStray is one of the most average games to come out in 2022. Stray is a linear adventure game where you play as a cat in a post human world. The game consists of you, the cat, trying to get to the surface to meet your cat friends by progressing through the game by solving a couple of basic puzzle platformer type puzzles. The puzzles aren't engaging and the world, while dominated by sentient robot people, is not very interesting. You can do a couple of cat things like jump up to certain ledges and scratch floors and purr but there really isn't much else to the game. No part of the gameplay feels engaging or rewarding and I never really felt like I wanted to see more. Even though the game is only 5 hours long it feels like it overstays its welcome.… Expand

This game it is not about the cat it is mostly about the drone riding a cat and making it do stuff for it, also some part are ok but the part you have to deal with those Zurks ruin the game.. it gets to the point that gets so annoying that I stopped playing the game just because of that..some achievement are almost impossible get like the can't cat-ch me trophy and some are super boring like productive life..I expect more of this game..cute cat but that's it .… Expand

    Não gostei deste game como boa parte da galera gostou. Não achei os puzzles legais, não vi nada demais na história e os gráficos são ok para um jogo indie. Valeu ter jogado pelo serviço da Sony, mas não o compraria por mais de 100 reais.

    Man I really can’t with these highly rated indies, it was boring af to me to get through. I’m not a cat person so that mayhaps played a role too.
    Story was kinda interesting but not at the same time. Especially I have experienced variations of this story before. This time its with a cat as the main character.

It might be my fault with the lack of orientation even in real life. Then the novelty wore off. It got boring. I really wanted to finish the game so I soldiered through.     The world is interesting but the graph was not as good as I hoped for, especially the build of the cat. I also definitely did not sign up for dealing with those annoying small creatures when bought the game.

    Por suerte el juego salio "gratis" en el nuevo servicio de PlayStation Plus. Me pareció aburrido y con una historia muy poco interesante, repetitivo. Realmente no entendí todo el éxito que tuvo, cuando hay juegos mucho mejores.

    This is a very nice game. Definitely good way to do an indie game, and I'm glad it's free with PS subscription.
    - nice graphics, the cat moves like a real cat; however it doesn't look very nice imo
    - beautiful settings, i loved the city, the colors, the lighting
    - simple but immersive story

    Competently made with great sound design and a well executed thought-provoking message on totalitarian capitalism in a beautiful dystopian setting, that unfortunately falls a bit short due to its overly-simplistic gameplay and somewhat underwhelming story. Nowhere near GOTY material, but keep your expectations low and you’ll have a great time, nonetheless.

    it's a beautiful game and it's fun being a cat, but the decision to make a flawed speedrun mode as a trophy lows it's value considerably. cutscenes are unskippable and count against your time. you have to wait for the ai to slowly unlock doors or walk across a courtyard. in short, it was a big time fail in that regard, and needlessly so.

    A brief atmospheric adventure in the cyberpunk setting. The game resembled a cat walking simulator.
    I spent two wonderful evenings playing.
    Dualsense is ideal when bundled with Stray.
    The simplicity of the locations and also the finale of the plot, slightly disappointed.
    There are few bugs, thanks to QA.

    To be honest. I expected just a little more from this game. I’ll admit the art style is incredible, however that doesn’t cover this game’s flaws. The game reuses a whole lot of dialogue options and not to mention, it lacks any characters for you to care all that much about except the cat.

My main issue with the game is there feels like there is no trust in the player to experience the game in the same way a Journey or Abzu would be experienced.     Beyond that, this game feels weirdly unfinished. A lack of animation for simple things like putting on a robe, walking up stairs, and rounding corners (and other weird cat bugs) had me scratching my head. I also thought it was odd how many people (robots) were willing to lay down their lives for a stray cat.
    5/10, pretty middle of the road game for me. When the dust settles and people start seeing this game for what it really is, I have a feeling a lot of people will agree.    … Expand

    It has great visuals and has a good cat character rig. It looks and sounds good, I just don't think it's very fun. With how simple the platforming and puzzles were, it felt like a walking sim, which I am not a fan of; so I found this game rather boring.

    The game is quite average, if not for the general obsession over cats, this game is a very basic plot driven platformer, almost without the participation of the player.
    The platforming mechanic is as basic and linear as it can be, with a dedicated button appearing over anything that you can interact with, including jumping or hiding (so basically no gameplay at all). The cat    Oh the hype!!

    The platforming mechanic is as basic and linear as it can be, with a dedicated button appearing over anything that you can interact with, including jumping or hiding (so basically no gameplay at all). The cat incarnation is nice, with all the nice stuff a cat usually does like purring, sleeping, wreaking havok by throwing cups or buckets of paint, miawing, etc...
    The main plot is shadowy, without any deep idea behind or any explanation of how the world works(were did the the monsters come from, what are those eyes..)
    If it wasn't marketed as the selling game for the new ps+, it would never gotten that much attention
    Anyways if you have a spare 3-4 hours, and absolutely nothing else to do, and no other game to play, give it a try
    The platinum is easy (you just need to complete it twice)

    Lore/world - 7/10

    Ok game, nothing too exciting. Nothing is particularly flashed out, story and gameplay are average. I got a platinum trophy, but that only reinforced shallowness of experience. Meditative games can be good like ex. Minecraft or Stardewvalley or Animal Crossing, but when it is the main and only appeal with no gameplay or story to support it we get Stray, which quickly becomes boring.

For the first two hours of playing this, I liked progressing and moving from place to place but couldn't identify a deep narrative or engaging gameplay. Long-ass fetch quests are the bane of my existence so seeing one within the first hour and a half into the game got me a little scared it would become a recurring theme, but it didn't, thank god. Toward the back half of the game, I really started enjoying myself as I explored Midtown, a much larger, more detailed area. They also introduced stealth segments I felt should have been in the game from the beginning, considering sneaking around as a cat is so fun. The story also stuck the landing as B-12, the companion robot, started leaking deets about his past life as a human, a welcome twist that gave the narrative the edge it so desperately needed. Overall, well worth $30, and that best indie debut award it found at the VGAs this year.… Expand

    And I wanted to just comment- I've noticed so far- the behavior of the cats are amazing. And mostly I noticed when he hissed at the first level that he did a little mouth lick. My cats have always done that and I wondered why ...and this game actually

    This game is nice. It has a great atmosphere with some good puzzles and an okay plot. For me, it was like a break between big RPGs and it played its role well.

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
