    Sonic Frontiers is an excellent sonic game that follows the right direction for the future. Great Open Zone Gameplay, Great Combat, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STORY, and BANGER OST

    Do not listen to the critics reviews, listen to real sonic fans. This game is a certified banger.

    Even with review bombings this game still has a great user score LOL! Quite possibly the best game of 2022 and without intentional review bombings would have a 10 user score because it is a 10/10 game and a 10/10 experience.

    This is the best experience I’ve had with a Sonic game since SA2. It’s honestly more of a 9 out of 10, but I’m making it a 10 to counteract the reviewb*mbers.

    Great game. And even better soundtrack. The game is an awesome and much needed change. First triple A Sonic title since Generations and it shows. Much better storyline, and fleshed out characters. Gameplay is fun, though can feel repetitive at times, it never feels grindy. Sad to see Dunky fanboys review bombing because of his videos, but that's how it always goes with his negative reviews

    The game has a plethora of technical issues, but Sonic Team should be rewarded for making a fun Open-Zone experience that is a wonder to explore. Open world games are the obvious overly saturated corner of the gaming market, but certain games find a way to bring a new level of enjoyment out of it, one of the main factors being HOW you can explore it and the    7/10 for polish, 10/10 for fun.

    The game has a plethora of technical issues, but Sonic Team should be rewarded for making a fun Open-Zone experience that is a wonder to explore. Open world games are the obvious overly saturated corner of the gaming market, but certain games find a way to bring a new level of enjoyment out of it, one of the main factors being HOW you can explore it and the speed at which you do. Just look at Spidey on PS4: web swinging is a blast. And with Sonic, drop dashing and boosting across beautiful landscapes is endlessly entertaining. This is such wonderful groundwork for a sequel, I hope Sonic Team builds out from this fantastic base they’ve built and continue to expand and polish for future releases.    … Expand

    The best Sonic game in over a decade! I feel like people forget this is SEGA's first try at a new formula and are being overly critical, but this is an awesome first try! Looking forward to seeing what Sonic Team does with this new formula.

    There are a few negatives, mainly with the pop in and the cyberspace levels.     There are a few negatives, mainly with the pop in and the cyberspace levels. While the cyberspace levels are enjoyable, they are the weakest part of this game as they are based on 4 past stages that fans have seen countless times, so I'd certainly want to see more variety on it. Some may argue that the graphics might not be the greatest, but it does tie back into the pop in issue. If you want less pop in, I recommend playing the Switch version, but if you want 60fps gameplay, then I do recommend PC or PS5 versions.

    The most fun I've had with a Sonic game since Adventure 2. I'd give it a 9 but the fun factor and the music outweigh the pop in issues. Which were my only problem with the game. Include the no cringey voice acting for the first time in almost 20 years and this is an absolute winner.

    Este me parece el mejor sonic en 3D y quizas en general que hemos tenido
    Una zona abierta increible con islas que tienes que pasar horas para tener al 100%, no aburre, es intuitivo, poco a poco mejoras en el combate y sabes mejor que hacer para tener mas velocidad, la ambientacion y la musica es increible como en todo sonic, los cyberspace la verdad me gustaron porque el mundo abierto me    Este me parece el mejor sonic en 3D y quizas en general que hemos tenido

    This game in it of itself is a masterpiece regardless of Sonic games!

    The open world is so fun to explore and you can run freely and platform at full speed and fight enemies, bosses and Titans, it's so fun!

    You can also combat and fight a lot of unique enemies and bosses, and unlock a lot of new combat moves and skills, at the skill tree!

    You can also upgrade Sonic, you can upgrade his strength, speed, ring capacity and defense!

    The story is the best out of the whole franchise, and the voice acting is very good, Roger Craig Smith did an amazing job as the voice of Sonic!

    The music in this game is incredible and it's the best music in the entire franchise!

    The Super Sonic fights against the Titans were amazing and some of the best fights in a video game!

    while the game has some jank and the cycle for progression can get a little boring late into the game. that's not to say that this is a bad game. i had a lot of fun with it. this is a good game that's a bit rough around the edges. but a good first step that can be easily improved on in the future.

    This is the type of Sonic game I’ve been waiting for since I started playing Sonic when I was 7. When Frontiers released, I was instantly satisfied with it. It’s an ambitious step for Sega and Sonic Team. They nailed the exploration with the high speed and Sonic elements.

    Sonic Frontiers is an amazing experience of a Sonic game. Exciting story, complex combat system, fun exploration and traversal, the game has a pletory of content to keep the user entertained. Sonic Frontiers feels like a love letter to the long date fans of the Sonic franchise.

The story is amazing and the way the characters interact feels so much more in line with how they were supposed to be. The relationship built between Eggman and Sage was the highlight of the game. The animation is also really good this time around. Animation in 3D Sonic games is usually pretty static and involves them just standing around.In here they're so much more alive. They're really bouncy and emotive here. The pop in can be jarring sometimes but it never did anything bad to me. Though it would have been nice if it weren't there at all. It'd make the game look even more amazing. I also wish Sonic weren't as "sticky" here. I feel like he should be launching off of cliffs instead of going "Spider-Hog mode". However, the momentum you can generate to get some airtime is insane. I find myself going 200+ft in the air sometimes and it's amazingly fun. Cyberspace was pretty repetitive but also never got really stale. The reusage of Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Sky Sanctuary did mess it up a little, but changing up the themes of the levels was enough to keep me in. All in all, the game has its problems, as with all others, but with the whole package, you're definitely getting your money's worth here.… Expand

    Sonic Frontiers is a step in the right direction. Open zone gameplay is smooth. Cyberspace levels although not perfect was fun as well. Titan bosses are one of the best bosses I have ever seen in a sonic game. Final boss a bit of a disappointment but still challenging. Overall Sonic Frontiers is a great game.

    This game is everything I have wanted from Sonic since Generations. Its not perfect, but Its very fun, worth the purchase! Makes me feel like a kid playing SA1 again, and this game was made by 60 developers! Sonic is on the right track and hopefully it gets even better from here.

    It was alright, that's about as much as I can say, there are a lot of good things in the game, I thought a lot of the character interactions were really nice, but I also didn't like a lot of the optional things just being kinda bland and boring, like I get that they are optional but why do they have to be so dull? So in conclusion, its the shape of a good game just rough around the edges… Expand

    This game was a phenomenal step in the right direction! The story, while not my favorite, had some great moments of characterization which has been missing from Sonic games for a very long time. The emotional beats work decently well, though the story does take a while to pick up. While I enjoyed my time playing, there were still some issues thag held it back.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Like others are saying, this is just the first stepping stone into the future of Sonic. Of course it has it's bugs at times. But overall it's a pretty solid game, awesome new voice direction, AWESOME soundtrack might I add since I'm a really big metal fan too!! Only serious complaint is the cyberspace stages making Sonic feel too heavy or sometimes doing weird dead stops because of the map geometry.

    And I think the final titan should have been more difficult and less of the focus placed on the weird Space Invaders like section at the end. I kinda liked what they were going for, but maybe the Space invaders esc fight shouldve happened before the titan. was shorter and then the titans in general be a little harder (as a setting ofc) hard didn't feel too hard

    * The system for upgrading with the Elder Koco
    * The way none of your control settings carry over to the cyber space levels
    * And the lack of momentum (more so how jumping or boosting kills your speed)

    I will say that there are many improvements in this game from the previous Sonic titles. Some notable improvements and cool things are:

    * The story (more so how each character feels so much more in character)
    * The art direction
    * The controls (which are very customizable and responsive)
    * The open zone (which is fun to explore and discovering new enemies is fun too)
    * The music
    *And the boss encounters! (The boss encounters have to be the coolest part of the game)

    I would recommend this game if you’re looking to get into sonic. They try many things with this title. Some things work well and some are maybe underwhelming. But the good mostly outweighs the bad I would say.

    If they update the game hopefully they fix some of the issues I mentioned. Some small quality of life changes could also be:

    * Option to remove super speed cutscene after 400 rings
    * Option to remove boost sound filter when boosting
    * Ability to replay end island boss encounters
    * Feature to leave 2D section when desired
    * Making the game detect you beat the final boss after beating it
    * and of course revamping the systems for upgrading your speed and ring capacity with the elder Koco

    As a Sonic fan it’s an 8 but overall as a videogame fan, with its issues I have to give Sonic Frontiers a 7.    … Expand

    The open zone gameplay is great. I think it was the most fun and I wasn’t expecting it to be as fun as it was. I loved exploring and I’ve sucked a lot of time into just running around.

    The titan fights are incredible. They really make you feel invincible. That’s how super sonic should feel.

    The music is really good. The swelling music of the islands, the lo-fi when fishing with Big, the house and edm of cyberspace, the heavy metal when going super: it all sounds great and somehow sounds like Sonic. I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss Crush 40 though. Love those guys.

    Cyberspace was where I can’t give Sonic Frontiers a 10. It’s a great idea and I want the boost era level design to stay in the games. But there are a few problems with it. Cyberspace levels meld together. It’s hard to remember individual levels because there are only four backgrounds. Also, Cyberspace physics are rough. It’s really difficult to turn sonic when boosting or if he’s in the air. It doesn’t feel as easy to control as unleashed or generations. Also, jumping causes you to completely lose your momentum. Next, I really like the impact of the homing attack, but I think it should allow you to cancel out of the recovery animation to more quickly stomp or chain homing attacks. Lastly, something feels very wrong with the 2D cyberspace levels. Sonic feels extremely slow. Even boosting feels like it’s doing nothing. At the end of the day though I still really enjoyed the cyberspace levels. Their inclusion is certainly very welcomed.

    Sonic Frontiers is well worth your money and time. I think this is a must play for any sonic fan. For anyone new to the franchise or on and off with the franchise, try this game out. I think you’ll really enjoy it.    … Expand

    as a sonic fan, i like this game, but some flaws can't be avoided, cyberspace is just slower generations levels, and pop-in is insane. i feel like sonic team should of made a new engine insted of reusing hedgehog engine 2. Combat and boss fights are from metal gear rising: revengeance, and feel excellent. exploration is fun in the begining, but becomes a chore very quickly.

    Aunque este juego no esta exceptico de las cosas malas, aunque no sean muchas son demasiado remarcables, empezando por el popping que bueno cualquier juego incluso Elden Ring lo tiene, pero el de este juego llega a ser algo molesto porque los objetos de aparecen de golpe cuando menos te los esperas, aunque el ciberespacio es entretenido hay un problema con el control de Sonic en este, es algo incompatible y hacer algunos giros es difícil y el dichoso reutilización de diseño de niveles, entiendo la intención de que sean recuerdos de Sonic y del jugador, pero hablando en un punto de vista objetivo esto fue flojo.
    Este es un gran avance para la franquicia y esta es la formula que debería seguir el Sonic Team en los siguientes en 3D de Sonic, si siguen con esta formula podríamos tener juegos de Sonic en 3D muy buenos en el futuro!    … Expand

    Sonic Frontiers is finally a return to form for the Modern Sonic universe, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m in Island 4 as of righting this and it’s already a top 3D Sonic game, bar none. Sonic frontiers is genuinely a great game, and there are literally so many little things that could be done to make it an actual masterpiece. I’m so excited.

    Frontiers is an excellent foundation for future Sonic Games, Some may even say it's better than games like SA1 and SA2. While it's rough around the edges, the Pros easily outway the Cons making Sonic Frontiers probably the best 3D Sonic Game to Date

    Step in the right direction for the sonic franchise, fun and engaging gameplay, with some visual technical issues, the voice casting and more serious tone of the game it's something I was hoping for a Sonic game, I can tell Sonic, Tails, Amy and all the cast are written correctly, representing their personality. The combat is fun and good, is not something I'd like the focus of a sonic game to be on, but it's still fun. The grinding system gets tedious, but the fishing minigame it's the perfect balance for taking a break and also progressing the game. Exited on how you will improve the format!     It is by no means a perfect game but it's definitely good if you're looking for a fun and casual game to play. The combat and traversal in the open world is enjoyable however the movement seems to lend itself to the open world rather than the linear more classic sonic levels.     I new fresh form to play Sonic, the level design is oustanding, a lot of things to do with some beatfull enviroments, the sound track is absloute amazing, some tracks is just in your head for days. The atmosfery is very unique, and the controls are very simple and fast, the combat system is very good and make sense to the high velocity of the Sonic. The histoy is very insteristing and giveI new fresh form to play Sonic, the level design is oustanding, a lot of things to do with some beatfull enviroments, the sound track is absloute amazing, some tracks is just in your head for days. The atmosfery is very unique, and the controls are very simple and fast, the combat system is very good and make sense to the high velocity of the Sonic. The unique bad thing is the engine needs some improove to stop with pop up some plataforms in the horizon, it is some kind of bug if you consider the high perfomance of the atual systens.     This is easily the best Sonic game in the last 20 years. I'm 6 hours in and can't put it down. Open zone is a winning concept and Sonic Team should be commended for finally nailing the 3d Sonic formula. I'm very surprised this isn't an 80+ with the critics, but don't skip if you're on the fence. It's worth every penny.

    3.cyberspace has bad controls I wish they let you keep atleast the good control part from the open world and I mean the control part like the moment I'm not talking about the speed, like maybe make sonic a bit more faster in cyberspace because sonic is kinda slow if your not spamming the boost button to go faster
    4. Speedeunning cyberspace is fun though so I'll give it that
    5. The combat is simple but you can do cool stuff with the combat if you try to

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
