    really a great step forward for the sonic franchise, loved every moment of it. if I had to make a complaint id say the camera can get a bit wonky at times but even thats easy to look past with the sheer amount of awesome this game has to offer. soundtrack is mindblowing, gameplay is very fun if sonics usual style is your thing, and the little bonus content like the fishing minigame is veryreally a great step forward for the sonic franchise, loved every moment of it. if I had to make a complaint id say the camera can get a bit wonky at times but even thats easy to look past with the sheer amount of awesome this game has to offer. soundtrack is mindblowing, gameplay is very fun if sonics usual style is your thing, and the little bonus content like the fishing minigame is very charming. all in all, if you enjoy the sonic franchises gameplay style, i 100% recommend giving this game a go :)… Expand

    Has a few tiny shortcomings but the positives outweigh any negativity I could say, by far the best Controlling 3D Sonic in the past 15 or so years, and finally a good, engaging story, and holy damn... Super Sonic is the best he has ever been freaking EVER.

    OST also goes extremely hard but that's a given when it comes to Sonic.

    Honestly a really great game and a darn good sonic game. There were a lot of aspects of the game I enjoyed. Loved the super sonic boss fights and the combat while simple, does a great job of delivering an enjoyable experience. This is arguably the best sonic has controlled in years and manages to make the boost format work for me, in the open zone sections that is. These are probably my least favorite part of the game as while they can be fun to speed run, the control can be customized and the physics are a little weird for me. The story and writing are honestly some of the best I’ve seen from the series. I was engrossed the whole time and the writing finally seems like these characters are being understood and this is also reflected in the voice acting. The direction these voice actors take breathe new life into these characters, and can be surprising that these actors have voiced some of these characters for years. Overall, I think the game takes the sonic series in the right direction and hope that they can continue to build and improve upon this game in the future.… Expand

    The music in this game carries the impact of the story! The battle are fun too! I love just running around with Sonic in an open zone like this? why wasn't this done sooner Sega!?

    Frontiers is a spark of home for this franchise and i recommend everyone to play this game.
    I played it for 30 hours and have some points to talk about.
    The art direction is... questionable.     Sometimes it feels like a bunch of random stuff in the same place and the first island looks generic and those rails in the air makes the game looks a little awful but the titans design are awesome and chaos and ares are both incredible visually.
    The ost and sound design is incredible and makes you feel everything they want to show to you.
    The story is about something deeper than i expected and the writing is very better, sonic feels more like idw Sonic but at the same time Pontaff Sonic.
    He don't take things seriously but he cares about the consequences of it and he also sound more mature and comprehensive.
    The feel of speed in this game is awesome, the gameplay is intuitive and the combat is great and creative.
    All i can say is this game isn't perfect but isn't they fault cause i know how develop a game is and time and manpower is important.
    This game have much inconsistency but I think it can be fixed in next game.    … Expand

    Huge comeback for the blueblur. one of my favorite series in the sonic universe is the sonic adventure series, and I can safely say that not only it brought out back to that feeling, it did all that and then some. Sonic team finally has the right direction for sonic and I can't wait for what's in store. Don't listen to the over dramatic reviews. 2022 is the year of sonic. Welcome back!

    This is the best sonic game we had in a while. The open world was a fresh new take on the sonic series. Sonic controls pretty good and there is a lot to do in the games. The sound track is nice and the boss fights were amazing. Haven’t felt this good with a sonic game in a while.

    This game is really good… I hope they keep this format for the next game but evolve and make it better. The combat was alright tho it could be very repetitive. The story was also really good but the ending was disappointing. My only issues with this game are the cyberspace stages and the pop ins.

    I have been playing Sonic games my entire life, I've played countless of his greatest adventures and not so great ones as well. I'm happy to say that frontiers is easily up there as one of his greatest. Let's start with the gameplay, from I've been playing the game runs really smoothly without any sort of noticeable lag and/or frame drops. Sonics movement and combat feel really good.I have been playing Sonic games my entire life, I've played countless of his greatest adventures and not so great ones as well. I'm happy to say that frontiers is easily up there as one of his greatest. Let's start with the gameplay, from I've been playing the game runs really smoothly without any sort of noticeable lag and/or frame drops. Sonics movement and combat feel really good. Speaking of the combat it's pretty well done it's both simple to learn and a little challenging as you go on. Sonics speed feels great as well it's cuz you can change his speed in the menu when pause the game. Making as fast as slow as he needs to be.

    The cyberspace levels are mostly pretty fun and interesting despite the being mostly reused stages but don't let that stop you, in fact the cyberspace stages as well as a lot of other things in the game are optional so you don't have to play them if you don't want to. Gotta say the only thing I don't like about some of the cyberspace stages are the controls or just how it controls sometimes and that they are mostly reused stages but they are optional. There is one problem that could turn a small bit of players off, and its the pop in. I will acknowledge that the pop in can be weird and/or or unsettling for some players but for me I didn't really let it bother that much I just focused on sonic and the beautiful environments. The game is drop dead gorgeous for a sonic game which to be honest sonic games to have always had good aesthetic, but as for this game good lord man the graphics are so freaking good man I love the way each of the islands look so freakin ethereal. I've been playing this game nonstop and I highly recommend you at least consider getting this game it's a blast to play, I won't say much about the story other than "it's really intriguing for a sonic game". Do yourself a favor and pick up Sonic Frontiers don't let anyone try to tell you anything negative about it just play it yourself and experience the magic even if you aren't much of a sonic fan.    … Expand

I thought the combat was fun, especially using the Parry move and counter attacking enemies. The music is a masterpiece (much like other Sonic games) from the calming overworld music to the Rocking Titan boss fight tracks.     I loved the game a lot, I've been playing this beautiful game for 15 hours and I still haven't finished it. At first I was afraid that the game was trash, but I was wrong, it was the opposite. Although the game is not perfect at all, but it is enjoyable and I think it is the most important thing in a game. One last thing, please make your own opinions and don't take the opinion of aI loved the game a lot, I've been playing this beautiful game for 15 hours and I still haven't finished it.     One of if not the best sonic games in the last 15 years since Unleashed. Its great to see that the writing is a lot more confident in itself and isnt afraid to explore the characters in new ways. While theres a few graphic issues as well as being capped at 60 fps, I don't think it pulls enough from the overall experience to drop what I think is a 10/10 sonic experience. That being said, IOne of if not the best sonic games in the last 15 years since Unleashed. Its great to see that the writing is a lot more confident in itself and isnt afraid to explore the characters in new ways. While theres a few graphic issues as well as being capped at 60 fps, I don't think it pulls enough from the overall experience to drop what I think is a 10/10 sonic experience.     This is a good direction for the franchise, and I am happy with the out come. playing with Super Sonic more often yes please!! Open zone is very fun and had a well thought out game loop amazing.

    Just an awesome step from Sonic Forces, this is they way. I think that with more time could have been a masterpierce, but aside from that it was a really fun time playing Sonic Frontiers.

Characters are more expressive and the dynamics between Sonic and the others were charming, and funny. Gameplay and Combat is fun and engaging. But my absolute favorite aspect about Sonic Frontiers is the **** SOUNDTRACK. EspeciallySuch an amazing game. Don't really know how to express my love for it, but I will try my best.     I have to say I was not originally hopeful when the initial gameplay trailer dropped by IGN back in the day. However after beating the game on hard mode I actually had a great time! The music was absolutely bangin, and the open world was pretty fun. Definitely looking forward to whatever SEGA makes next for the blue blur.

Sonic Frontiers is an amazing game, which mixes the open world with classic Sonic platforming, truly a really good game with an amazing story

Not only it gives you everything great about the old games- like the sense of high speed action, great gameplay, banger music & story, but also adds SOO much more new stuff that totally works like magic. The new combat system, great enemy variety of enemies, titan boss fights & the open world stuff gives Sonic a totally new flavor.The game clearly surpasses all previous 3D Sonic games.     This game is the most fun I have had playing all year. It's not perfect the physics in cyberspace still suck. But running around the open world is so enjoyable would highly recommend. The story has throwbacks to sonic adventure so it's well worth playing if you were a fan of that game. Don't listen to the critics dissing the game pick it up and have fun.

    First time since Generations that I’ve gotten to enjoy a Sonic game. There are some unfinished parts, but I have to applaud the team for this one. SEGA doesn’t give them enough time or resources, so the fans are always supportive of any good progress!

    Overall an amazing game. I love the freedom the game gives you, as you can progress by many different ways according to your favorite playstyle. Story is ok, but the game is really fun, with so much to explore. Amazing OST, gives Sonic Adventure feelings. I'm so glad with the game. They're going into the right direction

    Loved the boss fights and especially the osts but the final boss was lacking in many many ways. The overall gameplay was alright but the physics tilted me sometimes. All in all tho it was a nice experience

    At first I didn't like the game at all, but when I saw that Dunkey disliked the game, I realized that it is actually the best game ever made and Dunkey is WRONG for calling this game a bad game. Everyone that gave this game a bad score is nitpicking and biased. I win. Bye bye.

It’s not perfect, but it’s the first time in a long time that it feels like Sonic is heading in the right direction. Sonic has never controlled so well and works very well in this no linear setting. The open world is so fun to explore and you can run freely and platform at full speed and fight enemies, bosses and Titans, it's so fun! You can also combat and fight a lot of unique enemies and bosses, and unlock alot of new combat moves and skills at theSonic Frontiers is the best Sonic game in the entire franchise! This game in it of itself is a masterpiece regardless of Sonic games! The open world is so fun to explore and you can run freely and platform at full speed and fight enemies, bosses and Titans, it's so fun! You can also combat and fight a lot of unique enemies and bosses, and unlock alot of new combat moves and skills at the skill tree! You can also upgrade Sonic, you can upgrade his strength, speed, ring capacity and defense! The story is the best out of the whole franchise, and the voice acting is very good, Roger Craig Smith did an amazing job as the voice of Sonic! The music in this game is incredible and it's the best music in the entire series! The Super Sonic fights against the Titans were amazing and some of the best fights in a video game! Thank you Takashi Izuka and ESPECIALLY Morio Kishimoto who created this MASTERPEICE!

    So, i picked up this game after watching dunkey's video on it expecting absolute garbage only to be... pleasantly surprised. Its not bad. I personally felt the game wasn't limiting my movement. It could be better sure and the ending felt kinda rushed. But the characters, the side quests, the puzzles.. None of them felt bad. I enjoyed the segments even if i had to google some of them.So, i picked up this game after watching dunkey's video on it expecting absolute garbage only to be... pleasantly surprised. Its not bad. Amy doesn’t feel like the love crazy girlfriend sonic always tries to avoid but like a caring and loving person. Knuckles feels scared knowing he’s the last Acidna and that he’ll die alone but he’s comforted by sonic telling him that he’ll have him and the others to grow old with. And tails oh boy, tails feels upset with himself as he thinks of himself as a burden to sonic and just an annoying sidekick who always needs help but sonic takes that older brother role and comforts him and tells him that he’s not a burden and that needing help isn’t a bad thing but just part of growing up. Also Roger Craig Smilth does the voice of sonic SO UNBELIEVABLY WELL and really captures who sonic is now… Expand

    Had to give a 10 to outweigh some of the unnecessary hate. Solid game they pulled off a open world Sonic with Greta graphics, beautifully built stages to enter and okay classic Sonic fun with get rings, stars , rating etc… a good over arching storyline and amazing son track couldn’t expect more from a Sonic game in 2022

    Best Sonic game in years! I loved the open world filled with challenges and enemies to defeat. The bosses had a great sense of intensity and the boss themes were amazing! The plot of the story was great and I love the introduction to the new character “Sage”. The only things I can critique on is it can feel repetitive at times which includes some of the Cyber Space levels. I think theyBest Sonic game in years!     I think Sonic Frontiers carries some traits of the Adventure era games whilst also being twisted with a Modern flare, I think it’s one of Sonic’s best games in years!

    Contras: falta polimento demais.

    Mas não deixa de ser divertido.

    This game is just the great return of Sonic and SEGA. The people who criticize this Sonic have even't finished it, and the journalists are liars, they rated the game badly for God of war. There are many flaws but it's a good first open-world for the series. Bravo SEGA and Team Sonic, 10/10 to support you because you are on the right track!

    Un juego simple y llanamente perfecto, tiene un gameplay deslumbrante, una banda sonora muy bien trabajada y bien inmersiva, y lo mejor bajo mí opinión sería la historia, es bueno que Sonic y los otros personajes maduren en este juego, cada personaje se siente importante en la historia, además que la nueva personaje (Sage) es carismática y adorable. Por eso merece firmemente un 10/10

The pop-ins, camera angles and overall emptiness of the world are issues to consider for the next Sonic game and future ones. The story was well crafted and not over the top goofy, super duper edgy or "using the power of friendship" crap (Sonic Forces), gladIt's not a perfect game but it's interesting to see that Sonic Team took the risk in trying something new and got most of it right.     I was really looking forward to playing this game prior to its release, and my excitement only increased after I began playing. This game is easily the best 3D Sonic game since Generations at least. The gameplay is something that I think both long-time Sonic fans and newcomers will enjoy. That being said, the game makes for a relaxing experience at times with its progression. The combat really brings a lot of energy to the game, however, especially in boss fights. The music throughout the game is excellent at setting the tone as well. The narrative is something I really enjoyed personally. There were many heartwarming character interactions, and the references in the writing really show an attention to detail that is rarely seen in the games.

    Best game the series had since Generations in 2011, The open-zone styled gameplay feels fresh and even though the cyberspace stages were really weak compared to it's older iterations and the ending being lackluster in some ways. It's still a very solid entry in the series and hope SEGA achieves more with the promising foundation they laid down here

    Yeah, it's technically a little janky. 2D cyberspace is awful (3D levels are fun though). Pop-in is constant.

    But man, it's just fun. Blasting through aerial jungle gyms. Curveball minigames. Button mashing combat. Wicked boss battles. A weirdly calming fishing game. Something about all this thing just satisfies the ADHD child inside me. I've played with a face hurting smile for 4-6 hour sessions the last few days. I was warned that after the second or third island things showed their tedium, but I never felt that. In fact, the last island was the only one I bothered to 100% (80% most others) because it was such a blast.

    The technical issues tell me it's a 7. But it's been forever since I just had this much fun for 20+ hours. Outside of some awful 2D cyberspace levels (seriously, the control is horrid for these), I enjoyed everything about this game on a solid 9 level.

    So I arrive at 8/10. I think it's fair. Now excuse me, I'm going to make a second run at this thing.    … Expand

    Absolutely phenomenal game from start to finish. Sonic is back and better than ever. After years of mediocre and disappointing 3D sonic games we have one that is very fun and brings the whole series together with a story that newcomers might be a little confused about but a love letter to sonic fans. I cannot wait for what the future holds for later games in the franchise.

    If you have a ps5, go play this game. Its so much fun and the story is great to, it's not perfect (almost btw) but it's very fun, only criticism is that the final boss is underwhelming. Speaking of bosses, they have to make an update to make the bosses replayable, its so much fun. So yea go buy the game if you have a ps5.

The second world and after was really annoying to get around and I wanted to rip off my hair, and the physics, movement, the camera were all annoying to deal with. The things in the open world itself like the challenges were easy, the same, and just boring. Collecting the Koco in the open world was cool, but it was annoying to try and find them since they are extremely small. Trying to avoid the enemies you don't want to fight was annoying because sometimes the camera would focus on them, when you don't want to fight them and want to focus on getting to your destination. The Cyber stages were the worst part of the game for me. The levels are the same thing we've seen over and over again and would've been better if we've gotten other levels that isn't Green Hill and Chemical Plant over and over again, and the level designs aren't that original either as they are bits and pieces of other Sonic levels. Sonic Frontiers overall is good experience to sit through but is far from perfect.… Expand

The contols feel nice, the story and character interactions were fun while not feeling too silly. The animation and the camera angles were also REALLY GOOD, ESPECIALLY the super sonic boss flights, which I feel set a new standard for Sonic bosses!! The game just looks beautiful overall! The combat also feels good, it's a little button mashy but when you unlock more skills it feels less like just mashing buttons, also satisfying, flashy too! People have complained about pop in and while it is apparent, I never found it interfering with my gameplay.


    In conclusion, Sonic Frontiers is a really fun time and is well worth the $60. It isn't perfect, but it's a good way there!    … Expand

    Honestly, this is easily one of the greatest sonic games of all time in my opinion, open world is fun, the super sonic boss fights are one of the best in the series, the guardians are something nice to test your skills, cyberspace isn't as bad as people say in my opinion, i actually had a blast with a good chunk of zones, others weren't my cup of tea, and the soundtrack is legit. And notHonestly, this is easily one of the greatest sonic games of all time in my opinion, open world is fun, the super sonic boss fights are one of the best in the series, the guardians are something nice to test your skills, cyberspace isn't as bad as people say in my opinion, i actually had a blast with a good chunk of zones, others weren't my cup of tea, and the soundtrack is legit. And not to forget the story is finally good again, good grief. In future titles i hope they improve on the boosting gameplay like cyberspace if they're ever gonna bring it back, while i did have fun it still needs a lot of improvement. One of the most obvious ones is level design totally, please make something original next time, But other than that, i enjoyed the game!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am very pleasantly surprised by Sonic Forntiers. After Forces and the gameplay trailers I already assumed the worst, but no! Sonic is great to control and the graphics are okay.
    In terms of gameplay, it is similar to the parts before, you have different levels that you can choose, here again with different ranks (S, A, B, C) The open worlds are fun to explore and also the combat system is well implemented and allows good combinations. The story was rather unexciting, but the interactions with the characters captured their charm and personalities well.
    What is best about the game though are the boss fights and music. Never before has the gameplay of Super Sonic been so good. It feels great to fly towards the enemy and then knock them down with a combo. What makes it even better is the game's soundtrack, which is fabulous as always, especially the songs from the boss fights.
    In general, it is a must title for every Sonic fan, you can only hope that Sega hears the fans this time and the next title is just as good if not better!    … Expand

    Sonic Frontiers is a really fun Game. It makes you feel like Sonic, IGN would say that. The Combat is fun, the Speed is very fast at the end of the game, Story is very good, and Open Zones are alright. The Pop In is a big problem, and some missions on the Open Zones are very borng. But Sonic Frontiers is a great step in the future of Sonics Gameplay!

The story could be amazing (the dialogue between characters is incredible), the presentation could've been breathtaking, the ending could've been so epic, settings varied, etc etc.. in the end it feels like the game just needed more time. Despite the flaws, I still very much enjoyed my time with Sonic Frontiers... TheI think a lot of the elements in this game are great in premise.     Sonic Frontiers is a unique experience with the blue hedgehog who feels amazing at the controls and brings innovative new concepts to the saga, Although the performance can be improved , the gameplay is very fun and it is certainly a step forward in a fresh and new direction that It leaves us excited to know what Sonic's next adventures will be like

Nintendo owners have a valid point although they should realise the switch was the underpowered system last gen so expecting a miracle port was silly to be blunt. After reading some reviews of the game in the low two’s I was dreading my pre order arriving. I would advise not to buy this game for switch and opt for PS5, PC or Series X… Expand

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
