    This game is for Sonic fans of old generation and new. Sonic feels so refreshing and great to control. This game has great atmosphere, great music, and for once in a long time, a good story. Sonics character is fleshed out more, side characters are given more of a personality than their typical one note tropes. I greatly enjoy this game.

    This Is The Most Ambitious Sonic Game So Far And It Shows Being An "Open Zone" Experience. Now For The Game Itself The Soundtrack Was Perfection, The Story Excellent, The Gameplay For The Open Zone, Cyberspace, And Super Sonic Fights Was Spot On. The Only Issues I Have With The Game Is For The Story At The End Of The Game And The Secert Final Boss, That In My Opinion Is Whats Holding ThisThis Is The Most Ambitious Sonic Game So Far And It Shows Being An "Open Zone" Experience. Now For The Game Itself The Soundtrack Was Perfection, The Story Excellent, The Gameplay For The Open Zone, Cyberspace, And Super Sonic Fights Was Spot On. The Only Issues I Have With The Game Is For The Story At The End Of The Game And The Secert Final Boss, That In My Opinion Is Whats Holding This Game Back From Being The Masterpiece It Truly Deserves To Be.     Sonic hasn’t felt like sonic in a long time, frontiers is a call back from home. It feels like I’m just turning on my Dreamcast for the first time in years and are greeted with a nostalgic feeling and rush to keep playing.Welcome back little buddy!

    This is a fresh new take on the series and a big step in the right direction for the future of sonic games. I haven't had this much fun with a sonic game since Sonic Unleashed. Huge props to Ian Flynn for writing such an interesting story as well. If you are a Sonic fan then I highly recommend this game.

    Sonic Frontiers is definitely one of the better sonic games, in the open zones Sonic controls the best he has since the adventure games, Sonic feels kinda off in cyberspace but that's only a small portion of the game, the writing is definitely better than any of the recent Sonic games and the boss battles are some of the best in the series.     This game coming from a 15 year sonic fan was such a breath of fresh air as it has bought me back to what it feels to have a great game bugs, pop and all I love this game.

    I looooove this game to death oh my god. The open world zone was a good direction to go with, the game is not hard at all but it is so much fun to play and go as fast as possible. The cyberspace are not as bad as people claim them to be in my opinion either.

El juego me parece perfecto, tiene una buena narrativa, un combate precioso, y una de las cosas que más me llamaron la atención es que puedes interactuar con Sage desde la primera isla, haciendo que vemos un poco de su personalidad e intenciones, y pues que decir del OST, es simplemente hermoso como en cualquier juego de Sonic Lo Malo del juego es pop in que para muchos es molesto, también tiene algunos bugs pero difícilmente te los encuentras y no son perjudiciales para nada, y otra cosa en lo personal que no me gusto es que en la mayoría de islas las formas de conseguir las esmeraldas son las misma. En conclusión Es un juego a la altura y que revivirá la franquicia de Sonic Y es bueno, pero no lo suficiente para Ganarse el GOTY (talvez nominarlo) pero no ganarlo… Expand

This game is wonderful, I'm a fan of sonic but I have to admit that the previous hedgehog games lowered the quality but this sonic frontiers has revived the franchise, It's a great game and I like that the characters are being improved since this game is after the sonic forces and we all know that it ruined many of the characters, Well, I have nothing more to say, just that it is a great game and my favorite game of the blue hedgehog

    If you're a Sonic fan, this game is a fever dream. Certainly not perfect, but fun, solid, with great characterization, and a lot of things to do. Cyberspace could have been way better, yeah, but it's fun, and the music just makes it worth it.
    The bossfights are PHENOMENAL. Did i mention that the OST is amazing too?

    not 20-30 hours like the developers said it was gonna be, I finished it in 12 hours but it’s still a good length for a sonic game…I’m not complaining maybe they meant for causals…anyways now what did I think of it? It’s a good game a great game even, best 3d sonic game I’ve played in a while, now while I had a lot of fun playing it I don’t think it’s THE best honestly I’m still gonna havenot 20-30 hours like the developers said it was gonna be, I finished it in 12 hours but it’s still a good length for a sonic game…I’m not complaining maybe they meant for causals…anyways now what did I think of it? It’s a good game a great game even, best 3d sonic game I’ve played in a while, now while I had a lot of fun playing it I don’t think it’s THE best honestly I’m still gonna have to give that title to unleashed yeah I know it might be a hot take but while it’s a HUGE step up from forces (that disastrous game) it still doesn’t surpass unleashed or even adventure 2. First off I loved the open world I loved running around and getting mentally lost in it doing all the challenges and going through all the obstacles, loopty loops, springs and all that though I do get why some people like that I personally love it because that’s what sonics all about is going through all those obstacles and there’s a bunch of then to go through and explore. Now I’m not gonna get into spoilers but the last 2 islands were kinda disappointing and the 3rd island is probly the most annoying it’s just full of 2d sections that you HAVE to go through, you can’t escape from it I lost count on how many times I accidentally gone into a 2d section I already went through being forced to go through it again until I find an escape route, also the cyberspace levels…while they are fun at times the customized controls for the open world doesn’t apply and I honestly don’t get why and due to that controlling sonic is pretty bad he just feels stiff and awkward and SIGNIFICANTLY slower the levels themselves are pretty good but controlling sonic…not so much and I’m also not a fan of sonic stopping when he homing attacks. I LOVE the combat and the skill trees I definitely felt powerful when I used different attack variations and combos especially during the big open world bosses now as for the final boss again no spoilers but it wasn’t as good as I thought it was gonna be it definitely doesn’t surpass dark gaia and surprisingly the first island was the most fun to playthrough and there was definitely quests that I did NOT like but for the most part I enjoyed myself the story wasn’t really “tear jerking” and “emotional and serious” as they hyped it up to be and it’s pretty much what you expect with the “my friends are my power” cliché but it was still a pretty good story and I had a LOT of fun playing this one, overall I give it a 8/10 hopefully one day sega and sonic team will make a game truly amazing that’ll surpass unleashed and adventures 1-2 while that’ll definitely be hard if they continue going this route I think it’s definitely possible, I’m very excited for the future of sonic!… Expand

    A game i could not put down! 24 hours of nonstop exploration, action and charm. The characters are back and reformed into something better. The story serves these characters justice. It’s a good year to be a sonic fan!

    The best sonic game since generations. Sonic is hard to control at first but once you get going, you get a feel for how to handle him. The music in this game is 10/10. One of the best sound tracks in a sonic game to date

    An excellent start of a new era for Sonic. My only disappointment is how short the main campaign is and that is the only reason I'm not giving it a perfect score. Mechanics, additional playable characters, and boss battles can always be improved if they continue this formula, but as of now, Sonic Frontiers is worth a couple of playthroughs.

    I love this change of gameplay and it was a lot of fun. 5 different islands with a total challenge amused me for hours so that I finished the first island the first time I entered the game! For all the styles of this game, the portals are exactly the same as Sonic Colors and Sonic Generation, which I also liked.

    I have played this game for over 18 hours and I have only come out with a single complaint literally to do with a fishing mini game, I find it pointless that you work harder to catch chests with a max of 3 tickets in. I know that these can buy you anything for only 1 ticket but the most expensive thing is 15 tokens so the max equivalent for 3 tickets would be 45 tokens even though you canI have played this game for over 18 hours and I have only come out with a single complaint literally to do with a fishing mini game, I find it pointless that you work harder to catch chests with a max of 3 tickets in.     The real mark should be 9/10 (for the clipping). But the blue blur came from nowhere to bring us this amazing game. The open-zone format is definetly the way for Sonic. So I'll give a 10/10 !

    The cyber stages need a bit of work with the physics and the story scenes are a bit weird because they're kind of in short spurts, but the gameplay is phenomenal and extremely fun

    Sonic Frontiers, in my opinion, best 3D Sonic game. It surely has flaws and is not perfect, but I'd give it a solid 9/10. Let's begin with what I didn't like:

    -Cyberspace's physics. I quickly got used to it, but ngl it doesn't mean that Sonic controls well. Sonic is moving a lot slower, and it's easily noticeable on levels ripped from older games. Long story short, it just inherited    Sonic Frontiers, in my opinion, best 3D Sonic game. It surely has flaws and is not perfect, but I'd give it a solid 9/10. Let's begin with what I didn't like:

    -Cyberspace's physics. I quickly got used to it, but ngl it doesn't mean that Sonic controls well. Sonic is moving a lot slower, and it's easily noticeable on levels ripped from older games. Long story short, it just inherited most of Forces' physics, and downgraded travel speed a bit.
    -Some characters' animations are quite bizarre and weird, especially during Sonic and Knuckles' dialogues, Sonic mid-air running is goofy ahh etc.
    -Abuse of 2D sections on Chaos Island. They build up like more than 1/2nd of the exploring on this Island, it's so annoying honestly.

    Anything else about this game is near perfection.
    Story, with proper characterization and finally use of Chaos Emeralds. Especially villain is well-written. And you know, Amy doesn't flirt with Sonic every damn second.
    Gameplay in open-zone is also great. Combat, while being not so hard, is actually pretty various and enjoyable. You can't just mash X/square button to beat enemies. Sonic's movement is much better here compared to Cyberspace. Exploring just fits those zones so well, that even usually tedious process of getting collectibles is not so challenging and actually boring unlike in Unleashed. Graphics are incredible, a huge leap from previous generation in terms of everything, like lighting, art-style, some textures, level of details, shaders etc. All this together looks pretty much comparable to AAA games. Bosses are various and challenging, once again, huge leap from previous generation games where they are just mostly chases with some obstacles. OST is not as good relatively sometimes in Sonic's standards, but overall it's still a banger (especially Titans' themes)

Not to mention the fluid combat, surprisingly packed open world full of platforming challenges to do, and the cyberspace levels which leave some boost formula gameplay for those who prefer that. The gameplay is not only fun, but addictive as well. Some people might at first glance take a look at the gameplay and think that the world is empty, but that's absolutely not the case. There's so much to do in the world, whether that be solving puzzles, fighting enemies and mini bosses, doing short platforming challenges, or even just free roaming around the islands as Sonic. And the best thing about this is that every aspect is fun. This is probably the best Sonic has ever felt to control, which makes exploring the islands even more fun. There is some jank, but it's not nearly enough to stop the game from being entertaining and fun. And then there's the cyberspace levels. I was originally worried that the levels would be too short and boring, but I'm genuinely surprised by just how much fun these levels are. They're the perfect length, and it's extremely fun to try and finish all the criteria for the level at once. I can imagine that speed-runners will have tons of fun with this game. The only drawbacks for me is that the levels are only made up of 4 main themes (Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary and that one city level), and the controls for Sonic in cyberspace isn't as good as the over world. He feels stiff and way too slow. However, the levels are varied enough in aesthetic that it isn't too much of a problem, and I installed a mod that makes him control a bit better in the cyberspace levels, so it isn't really a problem for me anymore too. And then there's the story. The story was actually pretty good, and very fun too. God bless Ian Flynn for not only treating the characters with the respect they deserve, but also doing his best to flesh out the world of Sonic even more. It's super cool to see various moments in the series acknowledged in the game, and not being treated as if it never happened. It's also great to see Sonic being himself again. I've missed the Unleashed era Sonic for so long, so it genuinely feels to me like Sonic is finally back. And I love the way Ian Flynn wrote his dynamic with all the other characters in the game. Rather than just being one-note tropes like they've been for almost a decade now, it's great to see all the characters being written well and treated with respect too. Especially love how Sonic and Knuckles dynamic was in the 2nd island. It's great to see them being rivals with respect towards each other again. Really enjoyed every moment when they interacted with each other. And now to talk about the boss fights. The bosses were some of my favorite moments in the entire game, and easily the best Super Sonic boss fights in the entire series. They're all extremely hype (with the exception of maybe the final boss), with my favorites being the 2nd and 3rd boss (THAT moment during the 3rd boss gave me major Final Fantasy Sonic X nostalgia, if you know you know). And the music during these fights were amazing too (speaking of which, the music for this game is outstanding, and tied with Unleashed for being my favorite soundtrack in the series. Almost every single song is a banger, it's a massive step up compared to Forces OST). It felt like I was playing a Metal Gear Rising boss, but with Sonic. It's like a shonen anime fight, and I mean it in the best way possible. The bosses should definitely be experienced blind. The only gripes I had with the game are stuff like the pop-in, but it didn't really bother me all too much so it's all good. I do wish the ending portion of the game was given more time though, as I feel that the final boss wasn't as good as the other 3 bosses, and the ending portion definitely felt rushed. But in the end, I absolutely enjoyed my time with Sonic Frontiers. It's probably the most fun I've had with a Sonic game ever. After a decade of lackluster games, I'm really happy that Sonic Frontiers turned out to be so great. My score for Sonic Frontiers is a light 9/10, which is the highest rating I've given a Sonic game. Even my previous favorite Sonic games, Generations and Unleashed, are just a strong 8/10. This game isn't perfect by any means, and there's definitely room for improvement. However, the negatives for this game are heavily outweighed by the positives, as well as the amount of pure fun I had playing this game. Sonic is finally back, and I can't wait to see how Sonic Team improves upon this formula.… Expand

    Parece que finalmente están yendo por una buena dirección, Sonic ya no se avergüenza de ser Sonic y estoy muy feliz por eso. Sonic no se queda quieto en lo seguro, él experimenta y se arriesga, eso me atrajo de la franquicia y finalmente lo tenemos de vuelta, no es el mejor juego del mundo pero se aprecia el esfuerzo que hizo Sonic Team.     in the gameplay it is a very fun, entertaining and above all creative game. The story really wants the characters to change for the better. The only bad thing about the game is its popping errors and some small bugs (or well that's all I found because there could be many more)

    Sonic Frontiers does a lot right for the sonic franchise that past games have been unable to obtain. While some of the typical 3d sonic jank is present, the gameplay feel great once you've adjusted in the first few hours. More importantly, the challenges faced to obtain the myriad collectibles littered in each of the open world areas is feels rewarding, as they can be approached from anySonic Frontiers does a lot right for the sonic franchise that past games have been unable to obtain. While some of the typical 3d sonic jank is present, the gameplay feel great once you've adjusted in the first few hours. More importantly, the challenges faced to obtain the myriad collectibles littered in each of the open world areas is feels rewarding, as they can be approached from any angle. While there is an "intended" path for most collectibles, some times there's that one collectible that you aren't quite sure how to reach, resulting in creative methods for you to reach that spot. Landmarks are also sprinkled throughout the openwork segments that lead to cyberspace zones, which are fast-paced albeit short levels flavored from Sonic's previous adventures. These help break up the open world exploration to keep things fresh and providing new challenges along the way. There are also multiple islands, each with its on environments and enemies to keep the player engaged throughout the adventure. Enemies require different methods to defeat, so don't expect to just mash one button constantly, although that may work on a few enemies throughout the journey.

    The story isn't pushing any boundaries compared to other games this generation, but for fans of the older titles there are some nice nods to the games of the past and over all doesn't feel as cringey as some of the more recent games. If you have been a fan of sonic in the past but have fallen off with it recently, I highly recommend you give this game a chance.    … Expand

    This is the best 3d sonic game we got after Generations, it has good controls, fun islands, bosses, good combat, and a great story, the only problem is with some of the cyberspace levels but overall it was an entertaining game

    A brilliant game. Definitely has it's jank, however as an experience, is amazing. You can feel the heart in this game. I hope the positive response from fans tell Sega to give Sonic Team a bigger budget and more than 60 people.

    Sonic frontiers is a very different take from your typical 3d sonic game, but I am glad to say that this game is great. After years of waiting for something that’s good, sonic frontiers delivers that and more. From the open zone exploration to the amazing supersonic boss fights, sonic frontiers brings a fun and refreshing new take to the typical sonic experience.

    This has to be one of the best sonic games I've played. Thanks to a new writer, the story and the characters are so good! And, we now get to play as one of the best versions of Super Sonic in the whole Sonic franchise. Amazing job Sonic team! I really hope they keep this formula for the next game.

Furthermore the music is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard! The only critic from my site is, the pop in of Plattforms on the screen. Everything looks GREAT, the chemistry and emotions between the characters, especially between Sonic and Knuckles, the island boss fights are GREAT. But why not 10? On the 3rd island, I get bored with 2D sections, which make up 60 percent of the entire island. And... in cyberspace, too, there is a thing. The levels aren't all that interesting considering that...     This game is a ton of fun for anyone who is a Sonic fan. Both the base gameplay and story are things that are a great starting point in a new direction for the franchise. This story contains a lot of past game references which has been missing the past few games, it makes the world feel more connected and real which is nice. I just hope that Sonic Team AND SEGA give the next instalment the time it needs to be polished and refined into what should be another great game. There is a bit of jankyness with the camera and controls sometimes which can be polished overtime, as well as cleaning up some performance issues such as the pop-in that occurs. I played all of Sonic Frontiers and it was absolutely amazing everything about this was perfect the open zones was a great transition for the newest generation for consoles the option to change how sonic moves is great and the cyberspace is a bit slow but it was fun trying to get all the challenges done and the super sonic fights were amazing and the soundtrack and fighting is perfect the only thing that's preventing me to put it a 10 is because of the end of the game and going against the true final boss and beating the game isn't that fulfilling but this is definitely the next step for sonic and might be my favorite sonic game but that's all this is your boi ANDREW_BLUE over and out… Expand

Its rough around the edges in many areas, constantly reusing Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant, and the narrative while good, couldve been a bit more involving. Overall though, I walked away being content that I was finally given the type of game I waited 14 years for.

    What can I say, its fun, very very fun, and thats all a game needs to be, other things matter and it does have some flaws, but I had so much fun to me I dont care, because I can go on about the pop in and crap, but if I enjoyed the experience so much despite that, of course its a 10

    After 100%ing Sonic Frontiers twice, I can confidently say that the series is putting it’s best foot forward and turning over a new leaf, in order to usher in a new era for Sonic, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what the Blue Blur has in store for us next.

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
