    A complete disgrace to the series of Saints Row and what it once was! All Volition had to do was listen to its community and they can’t even do that. This is NOT a Saints Row game!

    I thought the release of GTA the definitive edition was horrible. This may be the worst game ever released and wipes it’s @$$ with the intellectual property that so many fell in love with. I regret purchasing so much I made a metacritic just to warn others to never buy it. The pop-in is worse than GTA San Andreas on PS2. The writing is atrocious and the characters fail to even posses humanI thought the release of GTA the definitive edition was horrible. Goodbye Saints and farewell Volition. You guys made alot of good games in the past, but I can't see how you will survive as a company after this horse **** Get woke Go broke. Good riddens.

    Borderline unplayable, PS5 keeps freezing up every 30 minutes or so and only full unplug boots it back up.

    I love games where you can create your own character. The customization in this game is great. But the terrible voice acting and dialogue ruins everything. The game has a fun aspect to it, but the horrible characters your character talking every 5 seconds to say something stupid makes it unbearable.     This one hurts. As an avid Saints Row fan; this breaks my heart. This game feels and plays worse than the original Saints Row.

    Get Saints Row: The Third Remastered. That game doesn't feel like it's from 2006.

    This is a reboot there is NONE of the older characters, no buying businesses, and the talent tree how they've done it is terrible. And when you upgrade your weapons they do not change in appearance at all.     Cringey, unlikeable, woke characters. Embarrassing dialog, repetitive/boring gang fights. Thank Anita Sarkeesian for this trash game and the idiots at Embracer for the direction they’ve taken this franchise.

    It's sad how they ruined an IP. An empty open world, terrible driving, terrible AI, terrible writing, terrible characters, terrible missions, and terrible guns. Regret spending 60 dollars on this. Don't buy this game I can't even think of one positive aspect of this game.

    1-Looks like a netflix adaptation of the franchise
    2-The gameplay is boring
    3-The original characters of the franchise would absolutely make fun of the new ones
    4-Has a lot of bugs
    5-At least Babylon's Fall has dignity

    Game is a sorry excuse for a reboot or video game as a whole. I’ve played every Saints Row and after 5 hours of insufferable play time got a refund thankfully! Volition is going to development studio hell.

    Looks like an Xbox 360 game doing it's best Cyberbug 2077 impersonation with all the glitches. Gameplay is boring and gunplay feels off. The writing is horrible and the characters are more annoying than you can imagine. Saints Row 2022 is embarrassing.

    Played for about 5 hours.... my opinion so far is completely uninspired. Graphic comments are completely accurate ,I have it set on 4k and it's a complete joke..if u figure out how to not make your character look like a troll please let me know...who picked out these presets a virgin in his parents basement ... moronic woke comments are annoying to say the least and the woman's voice inPlayed for about 5 hours.... my opinion so far is completely uninspired.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a desaster of a game! The developers are basically pulling the whole franchise through the dirt with this.

    Short story, which is not really a story. It's what each one of us experienced in Kindergarten: Char A is hurting Char B, then helping this Char B, Char A then is betrayed by this Char B and then Char A fears everyone else is mad. THAT's it!

    Apart from the main story missions, you can do missions to make your companions stronger - which technically are only the 3 so why bother and build up Ventures in the city's districts, which also have 7-10 Missions to complete.

    Mission "design" is overly simple: Drive there, mostly fetch something - get rid of thugs, drive there to deposit. - Wrapped in a Tsunami of bugs. - Done.

    Those developers should go back to a game design class if they ever took one.    … Expand

There is just NOTHING to do in this game except the copy-paste Ubisoft like "gotoA-getitemB-returntoC" quests.

    And finally, the amount of LGBQT **** that has been injected into this game is absolutely laughable. I don't care about this topic. Please, stop hammering it into my face. Let them do what they want and let me do what I want. Stop this mindboggling all-inclusive "we have to represent everyone" garbage that noone wants and stop this annoying preaching! FK OFF!

    There is nothing worth your while in here.

    Well, guess what? Coming from a "POC," you failed.

    In attempting to push the ideology of "inclusiveness," manages to be one not as inclusive as the devs seem to think it is; not the least of which, the inclusion in that of the "non-POC" demographic (just read your reviews).

    Released so is this game, yet we're not one step closer fixing the problems of the world.
    We're not one step closer to pushing past the superficial differences that comprise what is "us."
    We're not one step closer to addressing the shortcomings of society that are a detriment to peoples of ALL demographics.

    "Don't take it too seriously."

    This is supposed to be "just a game" and yet, the fun and novel dries up rather quickly.

    The cliché "wage slave" story feels like stepping in a puddle of water but then trampling into a brightly contrasting world of...not all that many interesting things to do in the betweens. A beautifully built world that quickly feels uninteresting to explore, even repetitive. Gone are the outrageous "idgaf" weapons so memorable of the previous entries (Rectifier Probe anyone?) replaced with weapons that I don't care enough about to remember.

    The cringe humor feels like someone woke in the morning and before the blood started flowing, thought they had a gem.

    Most of the game feels like it was attempting to compensate for something that is no longer there. And can't decide what it wants to be.

    Gone is the silliness of its past reminding itself not to take it too seriously. Replaced with a resoluteness and air of pretentiousness that has neither charm nor character. An empty shell of what it once was, the series can't return to such outrageousness. And at the same time, it cannot assimilate the gritty seriousness of its genre contemporaries.

    The greatest games need only excel at a few things. Saints Row manages to excel at none. Average and forgettable at best but the shallowness of its virtuousness leaves a foul taste long after.

    Perhaps it's time to hang it up; something that it is no longer. A dying breath harkening to the relic of a bygone era.    … Expand

That hope was gravely misplaced.

    The new characters didn't bother me, the new story didn't bother me, even the same gameplay of "shoot a bunch of dudes over and over again" because it was really hard to melee in here. I even forgave that. BUT THE BUGS I CAN NOT FORGIVE. This game is unplayable. When I have to worry about doing a mission and the game soft locking, losing all my progress that is one thing I can not stand! This game needed way more time in the oven. And since I can't even return it because epic games said it's beyond 2 hours. I spent most of that time just trying to start and restart the game because there's a BUG that makes it hard to even OPEN the game. I'm so disappointed and brokenhearted over this. This is worse than no man's sky when it first came out, worse than cyberpunk 2077.

    I'm done, I'm never buying another saints row game again. The game died long ago and this reboot is nothing but a zombie version of it, trying to be one of the cool kids.

    What makes matters worse is that I honestly don't think Saints Row can come back from this. The devs pissed off and insulted old fans, maybe it's time to finally let this game die.    … Expand

Main mission can be completed in 5-6 hours the other 90 % of the game is pure bloat BS missions. 14 Toxic Wates trucks to deliver! One side venture to complete wants you to jump on top of 21 (YES 21) towersMy opinion, this SR is garbage. I created this account today specifically to rate this game.     This game is not great. Feels like a PS2 playstyle with decent graphics and design. To introduce this game with the platform capabilites of the PS5 is an insult. Then to charge $70.00 for it is ridiculous. I don't give my opinion often, but this game is trash. I won't be playing a game from this developer again. It would be a waste of my time, and more importantly money.

    I was a saint row fan since SR1 ,but the reboot 2022 is really really disappointed, main story is way too short and boiling. Tons of tons of bugs. What a shame it really is a terrible game. I’ve half finished the game and decided to delete that game and put it on the 2nd hand market tomorrow. I’m a bit upset, I expected this game for a long long time, but it really crap.

The physics are ridiculous at best, the KI is horribly unpredictably stupid.     The game looks disgusting, the controls are terrible, it feels like I didn’t buy an AAA title, but a game for a mobile phone with a bunch of glitches that make it even impossible to pass it without 100 reloads, terribly disappointed.

The combat gets a little lame and a pain when every mission is just fight fight and fight in SR3 every gun upgrade made ut look different here it stays the same,the new perk upgrade system is horrible in SR3 it was fkin amazing, the world feels empty, cool costumization system, i actually enjoyed the story but in 3 there were choices... i consider it ok nothing more but notI had no bugs.     TLDR: a tremendous disappointment it wants to be saints row but gives a fortnite type of vibe in terms of the audience that should play it, they made it a little more friendly feels like, SR3 felt like they actually targeted an actual mature player base but here its like they aim for idk 10-16-17 yr olds. A great example is Borderlands where they added streaming and social media into the story like it is not their place in these types of video games. The game is just BLAND

    Idk why this comparison came to mind SR3 feels like an actual action movie with jokes but when i think of the reboot i outright think of it as being Toys Story from Disney xD

    I believe it can 100%be enjoyed by some people and 100% hated by others however i am in the middle cant give it a 6 either because we waited too damn long just to get this one of the games ever made but i do say TRY IT see if you like the game    … Expand

The Graphics are PS3, the story is crap, the shooting portion is just very bland. This game feels like a substandard ps3 game from 15 years ago.... Do yourself a favor and just skip it and maybe Volition will either learn or go bust.......

Bad dialogue bad pop in repetitive missions and annoying characters make for a horrible experience. Graphically it looks like a remastered 360 game. Did anybody playtest this before it was released?

    This is such a step back and it shows with the gameplay. Driving feels clunky and outdated with nothing really new added. Combat is probably the worst part as it doesn't feel rewarding or engaging, AI is also terrible and really feels like a copy paste of cyberpunk 2077

Volition had a great opportunity here to capitalize on the open world, third person shooter market with the absence of Rockstar over the past 9 years, but they would rather dumb down their games so that 13 year olds who enjoy Fortnite can hop on this game and have fun. We told them from the start, "this is not what we want" "this looks terrible" "bring back the old saints" and all they could do is call us haters, well as it turns out the fans and consumers of the product were right yet again. I hope that Volition & Deep Silver will one day realize that they messed up bad with this game and the 3 before it just because they outright refuse to listen to their fans. I would like to see them publicly apologize for this poor excuse of a "Saints Row" game, but that will never happen, they will never admit that they were wrong, even if this was the final nail in the coffin for their already downward spiraling company. This is not Saints Row it only has the name because they knew it would sell decent numbers and make them some money. If you are a true fan of Saints Row, save your money.     Gameplay: Watered down, shooting bullet sponge enemies is boring and repetitive, useless collecting and a buggy mess of a game that gives cyberpunk a run for its money. Nothing new is added and it feels like they just took saints row 3's engine and clumsily just copied and pasted it in this game while not checking for bugs, glitches, and crashes.
    Open-world gameplay for this game specially shows how aged it is and how boring it has become. There is literally nothing to behold in this game and GTA5 has more stuff to do then this.
    Rag dolling is just out of place and out of control, nothing obeys the rules of the world or reality.

    Sound: Decent, but again, the dialog is just some of the worst i have ever laid my ears upon. Don't have anything to say about this, guns go shoot shoot, explosions go boom.

    Overall: Please, do not buy this game, for any system, I have already refunded mine, and I highly suggest anyone who had to sit through this train-wreck do the same. This game is not saints row, and to the people who made it, quit making games, you clearly have no idea how to make a game, stick to activism where you belong.

    GTA 6 will also meet this fate, don't pin your hopes in that either.    … Expand

Overall do not play this game. Spend your money on anything other than this. Added note: no, even if they fix the bugs my best score would be a 2 out of 10.     The game was delayed 6 months for refinement, and it still releases with many bugs. NPCs doing t-poses, and enemies that spawn in ridiculous places, out of mission areas. Lots of the interactivity is gone from the open-world; you can't do many things as you could before in the previous games.

    Character creation is also missing lots of features, such as independent body sliders, hair options, no jiggle physics like in SR3/4, no different walk animations for men and women (it's all the same), and it's overall shifted to making ugly characters. Character faces are flat and not detailed.

    The main story is very short, the game is a ghost town. This was supposed to replicate Las Vegas (the city that never sleeps), but there's rarely any NPCs out. Compared to even it's previous games, the world is empty. The audio mix of the game is off, so some times the sound is really low. Man, there's just so many things wrong with this game.

    Go watch all the reviews on Youtube that point out all these problems, if you don't take any word here. It's all documented. Volition is playing scared; their recent string of bad games have made them super conservative, and afraid of taking risks, and it shows. Outdated gameplay design can't carry them any more, and they tried to jump aboard the Gen Z demographic, but really failed here.    … Expand

You call that ugly thing a cat? There is no demolition derby. This game has car customization but no racing. What kind of backwards logic is that? Lazy developers can't even add something as simple as racing. Speaking of racing, the driving mechanics are trash. Every car is as powerful as a tank. The vehicle selection is the worst in the series. The developers added a big lake in the middle of the city, to give players the illusion that the city is bigger than it actually is. If anything, it makes certain parts of the city feel like a small town. This game tries too hard to be funny. The only thing I find funny about this game is that these out of touch developers actually thought that making this poor excuse of game would be a brilliant idea. The characters magically teleport in the car. The controls are beyond horrible.

    The co-op multiplayer is complete trash. The developers are too cheap and lazy to make PvP multiplayer. It's pathetic that these greedy developers have gotten so lazy, they haven't made PvP since Saints Row 2. These developers are so cheap, they decided to add some stock songs for the radio. Are you freaking kidding me? It's already bad enough that the radio lacks hits compared to the previous installments, but would it kill these cheapskates to at least pay for underground artists for the country station rather than adding stock songs? Not even Rockstar or Ubisoft would be that greedy to add stock songs into their fake radio stations. The cowboy statue with the Pringles head has a cringeworthy face on the cover of this game. It doesn't help that there is a lady with a SJW haircut sitting on it. This made me remove the cover paper off the game case and rip it into pieces. I don't recommend this game at all, unless you want to support laziness.

    Edit: You know what, I change my mind. I'm changing my score from a 0 to a 1, only because of how amazing the customization is. How many games have this much depth in customization?     It can be played for a change for a few evenings and then forgotten like many other unremarkable games you will forget after a year or two.
    For players who never played Saints Rows game before it would be 5/10 average game which does not deserve any hype, but does not deserve much hate either.
    For players like me who did played all previous Saints Rows and thus unable to avoid comparison with predecessor - that is 4/10 and after playing for several hours I just want to go back playing previous games again.
    In a few months after some polishing and removal of critical bugs this game can get +1 to it's final score from me, but that is all.    … Expand

    Make no mistake, the Volition that made the original series has long left the building. Not only that, they are probably gushing over this pile of CRAP, LOLOL. Just look at the scores. This series was never all that great to begin with. Average at best.

    How did we end up from the Original games to this ? Anyone who played 360 version of the games understands that they've ruined the series.
