    Resident evil: village is my favorite from all resident evil games. A really good quality, the aim assist is perfect. The characters are amazing, with cool and small details. But the handsome one is Heisenberg, i'm in love with him. He is the special one who game made funnier and fiery. But the one minus is Ethans death.     Solid game. Doesn't do anything great but at the same time doesn't do anything badly. Graphics are nice but lack in colour variation. Level design is decent but I disliked the fact you couldn't backtrack to some areas. Combat was fine but not massively fun due to the fact there wasn't enough enemy variety and I wasn't a big fan of the blocking system. The bosses were definitely theSolid game.     Resident Evils have been very hit and miss I found throughout the years but RE Village was very good. The game is two different games. The first half was a scary cat and mouse chase that turned nightmarish to eerie and painful exploration puzzler. The second half took the nightmare creatures and put them into a shootem up.     REV will have you on the edge of your seat without a doubt. This game has some of the most thrilling and unforgettable villains of all time. The gameplay itself isn't perfect, but the creepiness of each level makes it worth your while. A true blockbuster horror video game.

    Although the game has pleasant graphics and some good characters, overall, the story and plot twists are just too unrealistic. It’s too far-fetched, feels more like a Halloween attractions site than a story.

    not so great..this is my second Re game the first was re7 witch was awesome and made me buy re8 but the latest one is a big disappointment.. it's only worth a 4 score because of the beautiful graphics and detail.. the rest is filler!!! This felt more like a tech demo than a game! RE7 bio in vr is the best!!!

    I was sure that I will buy that game cause the last RE was also great. At Black Friday I took the chance for low money and during the Xmas I’ve started playing. And I have to say. YES it’s a great game. Story and topic is a bit different but that’s no problem at all. It makes so much fun the whole story the artwork and immersion is great. 92/100 points

    I'm not big fan of Resident Evil franchise, but this one is probably the game of year for me. Great story, incredible atmosphere, perfect gameplay, also every boss fight is spectacular, choice of weapons is huge, i really recommend you to play this game, you will enjoy and probably you will play it at least twice.

However, this game doesn't have the same self-awareness as others in the series, like Resident Evil 4, and it isn't a nostalgia filled trip down memory lane, like the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes. This game tries extremely hard to replicate the cool badass attitude ofResident Evil Village is stupid dumb fun. That's the best way to describe not only this game, but also the entire series.     It was Alirght and that where ill end that. Story was pretty stupid but these games really shouldn't be taken narratively serious. Fantastic environments and level design. Should have been just about big mommy the whole game, none of the other villains really live up to her.

    Charismatic characters,fun gameplay,one of the best re atmospheres and an emotional narrative. The first half is pretty scary,but the second half is action-centred. And thats not bad,it gets the middle point between action and horror,its like 7 and 4 gave birth to this game. Recommended

    seamos sinceros y no nos dejemos llevar porque el juego es nuevo, ya que todo el mundo se queja simplemente porque creen que la edad del juego define que tan bueno es. El juego es aire fresco para los fans, con un toque de Resident Evil 4 en el tema de la ambientacion y el contexto pero con un sistema de armas, puzzles y sobre todo jefes que impresiona mucho con jefes interesantes comoseamos sinceros y no nos dejemos llevar porque el juego es nuevo, ya que todo el mundo se queja simplemente porque creen que la edad del juego define que tan bueno es. El juego es aire fresco para los fans, con un toque de Resident Evil 4 en el tema de la ambientacion y el contexto pero con un sistema de armas, puzzles y sobre todo jefes que impresiona mucho con jefes interesantes como Donna Beneviento que consistia en buscarla mientras bebes asesinos y un feto de 2 metros de largo te persigue hasta Karl Heisenberg que fue una batalla de jefe muy interesante ya que como en todo Resident Evil todo termina con explosiones agregandole un toque subiendote a un tanque con motosierra, lanzacohetes y una metralleta. no me pueden venir con lo de: " Es que el juego quita el estilo de la saga ya que es mas accion que terror". Desde cuando que un pueblo de personas infectadad te persiga mientras salvas a la hija de el presidente es un juego de terror? y eso lo hace malo? lo que importa de los Resident Evil es la jugabilidad, historia y toques de la saga como los puzzles que lleve, no que sea un juego de terror. El juego tiene una muy buena historia y el final es digno, simplemente un muy buen juego. Ademas que aparecio el gran Chris Redfield... Se puede pedir mas?… Expand

    This is my very first Resident Evil game, and while I think that it's an enjoyable game for newcomers & a pretty good Resident Evil game for the fans, from my perspective the game itself has some major flaws, it mostly suffers from pacing issues, character development, and it feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be, it mixes action & horror in a bizarre way, but it's not a goodThis is my very first Resident Evil game, and while I think that it's an enjoyable game for newcomers & a pretty good Resident Evil game for the fans, from my perspective the game itself has some major flaws, it mostly suffers from pacing issues, character development, and it feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be, it mixes action & horror in a bizarre way, but it's not a good action game, nor a good horror game either. I absolutely adore the Eastern European - Gothic Horror setting with the Vampires & Werewolves, it's excellent, but unfortunately the game doesn't make it justice, and as you progress the story, it transitions to Steampunk with Cyborgs which doesn't fit very well, it feels out of place. I have to say, the gameplay mechanics are better than I expected, the game is fun to play, but most of the enemies are bullet sponges, even the boss fights, and the game isn't scary at all, it feels more like an action shooter rather than a survival horror game, especially near the end. The characters are not very likeable except from some very few like Heisenberg, Lady Dimitrescu & the Dimitrescu Daughters, the Four Lords are overall intimidating but the game doesn't explore their backstories & doesn't explain their motivations very well, they needed significantly more screentime, because we barely learn anything about them. The writing is very amateurish & straight up bad, there aren't any peaks in the story, it's very short, personally it took me around 7 hours to finish it, and some areas should have been expanded, especially the castle. They could have divided the castle to many sections and the Dimitrescu Daughters needed way more screentime & importance to the plot, Moreau's section was just filler, the ending is very abrupt... it's as if the game was rushed at times. Lastly, the dialogue is very cheesy and sometimes the game doesn't take itself seriously, especially in the second half of the story, there are some facepalm worthy moments which take away the immersion completely. I really appreciate the effort that was put into the game though, the Dimitrescu Castle looks great (it's the best part of the game by far), there are many areas to explore, the environment looks really nice, the village is cool & there are many things you can do in it, decent amount of details here & there, I honestly had a lot of fun playing the game, it really is a very well made game after all.… Expand

    Depois que você consegue o quarto frasco, a pegada de terror cai um pouco e o jogo passa a conter mais ação. Os combates são levemente exagerados na parte do Heisenberg e o fechamento da história acaba tendo algumas partes confusas.

    Porém, mesmo com isso, a Capcom conseguiu fazer muito bem a dosagem de ação e terror no geral, e a narrativa interessante te prende do início ao fim.    … Expand

    Later a few months I decided to play Re 8, I was not excited to play it. I like Re 8. It’s a good game, but it shouldn’t call Resident Evil it should have another name. The graphics are awesome. The story isn’t so good, but ok. I don’t like the some bosses, they are strange and so big it isn't Resident Evil in my opinion.

    Personal GOTY of mine this year. Graphics, story, gameplay - all great. The only negative thing I can say is the feeling of something repeating from RE7 like the "quest room" level.

    Well-paced game but I feel like out of the 4 non-main bosses, the first 2 are more interesting so it's a little downhill from mid-point of the game. Graphics are good and there is a variety of gameplay so the game is not repetitive. Ammo is scarce enough that it's not a full on Call of Duty, and there are parts that emphasize hiding or running to survive.

    I played all Resident Evil games so far and I am huge fan of series. I like classic zombies RE1, RE2, RE3 and RE4 but this RE Village it is the best RE game so far. Very good story, nice gunplay, crafting, awesome cutscenes and awesome sound makes this game a perfect masterpiece.

    to me this chapter has made me crazy, and a game really well done. the thing that made me more happy was that they have taken over the environment (or in part) of resident evil 4. good job.The only thing a bit negative is that I lost many hours in figuring out which is the right way to go or in solving some difficult puzzles, but this is the true spirit of resident evil village.

    absolutely incredible and fantastic game. you may have heard that resident evil 4 is considered one of the best games of all time- this game is a worthy successor of RE4. It has similar action and horror elements- the pace of combat in the village- the atmosphere of a village taken over by a cult- and also, the difficulty of the game progresses similarly to resident evil 4, with someabsolutely incredible and fantastic game. you may have heard that resident evil 4 is considered one of the best games of all time- this game is a worthy successor of RE4. In my view- The setting of the game draws heavily on war-torn nations succumb to totalitarian movements- while the game is in its own separate RE universe, it was clearly influenced by human history.

    Significant replay value worthy of multiple playthroughs. After R3make there was speculation that the franchise was stepping back in the direction of RE6- have no doubt, with this game, RE is back and better than ever.     Great game. A must play for a survival horror lovers. Its almost as good in overal as RE7 (in some parts its even better) but i was disapointed by weak, chaotic beginning and for most of the time by stupid plot. Ps. Capcom - please make a Terminator game ;)

A few of the profiles with these reviews (Yes I snooped) seemed to say that about a lot of games that are perfectly optimized. I think its time for a new PC bud...... I am Happy to say Capcom has made Lighning strike twice with RE8V. Its got everything 7 had with an awsome new setting and even some improvments. The bigest improvment is combat, its more previlent and always keeps you on your back foot. I hear alot of new horrors fans claiming combat takes away the fear in these game and they want all horror games to be these walking simulators we got dozens of this generation. That is rubish. Combat is an intregal part of true survival horror. Go back and play the OG resident Evil and Silent Hill.games they are full.of shooting. It just that later games were larger so there was more of everything including enemyencounters.
    The trick is to ballance the combat. Ammo conservation, lining up the shot and positioning is what builds tension in true survival horror. Not just jump scares and mountains of blood and gore.
    If you run from an enemy because runing is the only mechanic at your disposal, that to scary, thats not tension. When you run because you cant trust your self to line up a shot due to low ammo , your location being to constictive and the heaviness of the situation, thats true fear and tension.
    I really wish people would stop making statments like combat in survival horror makes it just like COD. The last 8 years have been terible for horror all we have got is walking simulators. The RE games are the last games staying true to the genre. Just let us have these games.. If you truly cant understand the nuances and complexities between the different controls and mechanics in diferent genres, do you really need to give an opinion.. There plenty of walking simulators for those that want them.    … Expand

BUT it´s more fleshed out than the previous entry, the horror varies now, we explore a village which feels a mixture between RE4 and Bloodborne, Afterwards we visit a Castle which has more of the classic RE feeling like the mansion. Without spoilering further, we get a feeling of P.T., condemned, outlast &Coming from a RE-Vet. RE is since 7 a fps horror shooter and 8 is no different. BUT it´s more fleshed out than the previous entry, the horror varies now, we explore a village which feels a mixture between RE4 and Bloodborne, Afterwards we visit a Castle which has more of the classic RE feeling like the mansion. Without spoilering further, we get a feeling of P.T., condemned, outlast & house of the dead the more we progress. Weapons are upgradeable, exploration is rewarded with more coins or even equipment or upgrades. Enemy variety is ok, nothing spectacular but at least more than in RE2&3 R. Story is as every RE a mixture of over the top and your average horror clichee.
    As almost every RE game 8 is no different in replayablitity. You unlock the mercs mode after finishing the main game and can buy weapons or infinite munition for challange points which you get after doing certain things ingame like finishing the game with knife only or find every collectible.

    It’s an amazing experience but it did not hold to its origins and depth. after I finish it I felt it was just a normal game and not completely RE game like RE7. My biggest problem with Village is the challenges with the bosses and foes , I only die twice throughout the whole game and I played it in normal.     Amazing graphics, good story and great maps, I’m really glad Capcom kept the same idea as RE7 because these two games were really good and pretty similar too, I’d love to see a third game to complete the trilogy and even more games like this.

    This is a fantastically great game! Everything was done expertly and it fits right in to the Resident Evil universe. Without any spoilers, the way that they divided the game into different levels with unique bosses was so cool! The horror prevails throughout, but the best horror is always just as cool as it is creepy. I honestly wouldn't change a single thing about it!

    When i saw this game on First person Shooter again . i was shocked ... that was my end for Resident evil series . The game end it up like outlast in a very bad way . no one ever thought of making it duo like Resident evil 0 with a new graphics engine etc . I personally don't like FPS games .. so it is not for me anymore .

    Absolutely loved it, best RE game since RE 4 in my opinion. The graphics were phenomenal, the action was great, has a lot of replayability with new game+ and extra guns. The level and map designs were amazing. Some parts were genuinely creepy and scary. Highly recommend if you were a fan of RE 4.

    Visually it's a master piece. The characters have lots of personality and que gameplay it's very good. I didn't line que much the final moments with the werewolf hordes, too much difficult spike for my taste, but, overall the game was very good.

    What a masterpiece! Very well done this game, zero bugs, nice gameplay, awesome map, graphics and also the story! For me the best of the franchise.

    This entry into the franchise does good at capturing the thrills and chills of yesteryear. More daunting than other entries, enough action to make you want to play after multiple deaths. Above all else, the story is compelling and game play is fun. It has it's flaws, but your average player should have no problem enjoying this game to its full potential.

    10/10 - Capcom outdid themselves mixing in great horror genre lore with the unique setting of Romania. Brilliant game, the fast-paced 8th instalment shoots for a mixture of RE4 and RE7, and has great replay value, one of my most favourite games of the year (if not my most favourite one).

The game looked outstanding on the Pro compared to other PS4 games, but on the PS5 it’s nothing spectacular, relatively speaking. I guess this is the problem with cross-gen, right? No compromise, or you need the new hardware to reach new heights beyond the same game with better rendering?

    I think the game is far too short. Why are games either too long, or too short? It’s one of those big unsolved mysteries. This was my first experience with adaptive triggers on the PS5, and it really makes a difference! I was pleasantly surprised to find it’s not gimmicky in the slightest. I like how they toned things down slightly since Biohazard- that game had a gross, Texas Chainsaw Massacre kind of vibe that almost made me delete it. If that game really gave you pleasure, please go see a psychologist- you are not well, amigo. There’s being scary, and then there’s being grotesque. A game needs to be fun, not a grueling, painful chore that leaves you feeling like
    you need to take a shower.

    I loved all the characters in The Village, but Ethan Winters is sort of a rube- his voice and some of the things he says are kind of cheesy, like how he calls the sisters a “bunch of crazy witches”. Did they mean to make Ethan like one of their geekiest players or something? Come on, our protagonist must have some balls to go through this rather than curl up and hide in a hole somewhere. I love the zones, and their variety, despite being a little on the small side (like Ethan’s balls). The castle probably looks the best out of them all, which also might be the largest and harkens back to classic RE games. This review is getting too long…

    Overall, this was a good game and is definitely worth playing. It’s just not a 9 or 10.    … Expand

    This is THE resident evil that got me into resident evil, I was extremely impressed by how the gameplay, story and characters as well as the obstacles you encounter along the way, like lady dimitrescu, Heisenberg, Angie and Moreau. This is officially my favourite game of all time, excited for the rest of the series, especially resident evil 2.

    After the ps1 classics, Resident Evil Village, it was the Resident I had the most fun playing, its atmosphere and wonderful, the castle part is amazing although I don't like to be in the first person, this Resident, reminds a lot of the original trilogy in the sense of capture items. The puzzles, the game is great, I recommend it with your eyes closed.

    RE7 in VR is one of my grteatest gaming experiences ever. Sad this one didnt get the vr treatment. Didnt think much of this one. I love classic re and things are pretty far from that now. its a good game but just not a great re game......for me.

    Without a doubt this game is in the top 3 of the best RE ever made. The perfect combination of action, horror, puzzles & good storytelling along with one of the greates graphics available in PS5. The only setback is it has some fps drops with Ray Tracing activated. Totally GOTY contender!

    Such a good game, I only hope that we get zombies in the RE9. The Werewolves were cool and all but it didn't felt like I was playing a RE game, it can get very action-packed but at the same time, the horror is top-notch. A must-play!

    The Story is a Sillent Hill 1 rip off and the shooting is not really good (Hitmarker are awful). But the rest of the Gameplay and atmosphere is amazing and really fun.

    I’ve beaten this game 3x now and am still playing. So many things to do and see. Story is great as is atmosphere. Perfect balance of action & horror. Most fun I’ve had playing an RE game since RE4.

Now, my point is that the mandatory mercenary mode for platinum is horrible and disgusting. Anyone who has guessed to make it mandatory for platinum must be immediately dismissed from the company.

    Similarly to Resident Evil 4 back in the day, Village will attract a new generation of players and redefine the franchise for the modern age. I guess it’s time to stop looking back and counting on the series to return to its roots. Capcom is well aware of those roots and willingly draws from them to create something new but still infused with Resident Evil’s spirit. Village is not perfect, but neither was RE4, and once again it’s easy to turn a blind eye to the flaws, because overall it’s an amazing game. [07/2021, p.56]

    Resident Evil Village feels like such a culmination. Bringing together elements from the franchise all the way up to now and crafting what looks to be the next step of survival horror, it embraces every aspect of the franchise. While the insidious dread of Resident Evil VII is missing, there are still plenty of scares. The monster designs are fantastic, from the generations undead, the fury of the Lupine beasts, to the towering monstrosities. It's well worth delving into the concept art and 3D models to enjoy them fully. The story is just the right amount of silly with the terrifying, and the odd dash of the surreal. The combat is smooth and fluid, best evidenced in the addictive Mercenaries mode. All of these elements added together make quite possibly the best Resident Evil to date, and a foundation for a fresh new generation of terror.

    RE: Village is a mixture of almost all previous Resident Evil elements, making the most of both survival horror and puzzle intensity, but with the primary stage being left for the more action-like nature of Resident Evil 4. It has some great story moments, sprinkled with a few lacklustre characters that are still overshadowed by its most notable characteristic – most detailed environment to date.
