    It´s a great game and experience. Of course the original has some details that today aren´t as good as before and Capcom removed it, but the dark tone and gameplay are fantastic. Something that lack´s off are the microtranstion of upgrade tickets, that can be purchase with real money, but this doesn´t compromise the experience. The RE community is aways stupid to hate the game with OldIt´s a great game and experience. Of course the original has some details that today aren´t as good as before and Capcom removed it, but the dark tone and gameplay are fantastic. The RE community is aways stupid to hate the game with Old boomers nostalgic classics and attacking VA, but time moves on and nonsense things are being adressed by companies nowadays. This people are sick and aways treated some carachters as a Jerk off material. I liked the new approach of caracters are good to Ok, nothing fantastic but fits in the story. Have nothing to complain, besides separate ways that should be FREE for the price that capcom is asking for, but still looks great.… Expand

    I wasn't a fan of the original Resident Evil 4, which game I really didn't like to play. But, in this remake (2023), I really enjoyed to play, and I'm also playing because it's so awesome. Especially the characters, 'cause they had an amazing evolution and personalities. This time, Resident Evil 4 is one of the best Resident Evil's games for me.

    Best RE remake ever. The game has successfully adopted classic survival horror to modern graphics and gameplay with drastically improved game mechanics while remaining faithful to the story and the ideas of the og.

    one of the best remakes i’ve ever played! it’s beyond amazing & fun the story, the gameplay, the combat… I genuinely never had the urge to play a game after finishing it immediately and i’m on my third play through and i can’t get enough

    Xbox Series X Review - I am a fairly large fan of the Resident Evil, or 'Biohazard', franchise and have played through many of the games at least once. I, and many others, consider the original Resident Evil 4 to be one of the most revolutionary and ground breaking video games of all time, which is why it was such a risk for Capcom to remake it. However, this risk has--for the mostXbox Series X Review - I am a fairly large fan of the Resident Evil, or 'Biohazard', franchise and have played through many of the games at least once. I, and many others, consider the original Resident Evil 4 to be one of the most revolutionary and ground breaking video games of all time, which is why it was such a risk for Capcom to remake it. However, this risk has--for the most part--payed off. The gameplay is a massive upgrade when compared to the originals somewhat dated combat. The introduction of knife parrying and modern third-person shooting mechanics makes the games updated combat feel fluent and extraordinarily fun. The game also looks great, is decently written, and has a lot more eerie 'survival horror' elements than the original, which is A OK with me. That being said, there are some sections of the game that are just flat out unfair and a grind to get through, with unending waves of enemies piling on to you, at times seemingly out of nowhere. Much like the original games, the last 1/3 of the game also feels like a bit of a grind, as well as a bit tonally off. Also, despite the game looking fantastic, the lighting/gamma seemed oversaturated when in the outside sections of Salazar Castle; this could be a problem on my end though, so think of this more as a nitpick. Generally though, I do recommend playing this game. Even with these flaws, Resident Evil 4 is still a fun and wild ride that celebrates the parts of the original 2004 game that made it such an awesome experience.… Expand

    I had skipped RE4 when it originally was released, not sure why. I'm glad they released this remake, it is a fantastic game. Great combat, great story, great graphics, and fantastic audio. Loved the game from start to finish.

    Pessoal que tá dando 0 pra esse jogo é maluco, só pq não dá pra ver a calcinha da Ashley os caras estão putos. Esse jogo é maravilho, gameplay divertida, deixou a história mais madura e menos galhofa (não entendam mal, amo a **** do RE4 original), desenvolveram muito mais os personagens, o fator replay é insano, vc vai rejogar aquilo dezenas de vezes sem enjoar, a dublagem br ficouPessoal que tá dando 0 pra esse jogo é maluco, só pq não dá pra ver a calcinha da Ashley os caras estão putos.     6.7, really? this has to be one of the best games I have ever played. Ya we all have different tastes, but 6.7... my butt. This was pure fun, lots of play time, and a massive improvement over the last gen. Super clean movement, targeting, an NO bugs. Awesome.

    This game is technically amazing in many ways. The game play, boss mechanics, map design, enemy variability and graphics are all excellent. The escort missions with Ashley make this game stand out from other Resident Evil games and give it a unique style of play. However, I did not find Resident Evil 4 scary and the storyline was forgetful.

    To see this new version of RE4 taking all of that in its stride with such confidence is, frankly, staggering. It never misses a beat, it perfectly captures the spirit of its source material, and all the while, it also makes meaningful, significant improvements and changes that elevate an already masterful experience to even greater heights. As I said at the beginning of this review, history has repeated itself, because once again, Resident Evil 4 is one of best survival horror games I’ve ever played, and one of the greatest games of all time.    … Expand

    Resident Evil 4 Remake is the best remake title available on the market currently (2023) in my opinion. Compared with the og RE4 released in 2005, this remake successfully achieved balance in remained faithful to the og while delivering fresh reimagine and enhanced RE4 story to the og fans.

    I always think that a remake title is meant to replace the og, because when a remake is released,    Resident Evil 4 Remake is the best remake title available on the market currently (2023) in my opinion. Compared with the og RE4 released in 2005, this remake successfully achieved balance in remained faithful to the og while delivering fresh reimagine and enhanced RE4 story to the og fans.

    I always think that a remake title is meant to replace the og, because when a remake is released, very little new players would want play the og since there is a modernized version of that game exist. Because of that, I always think the developers should stay 100% faithful in the og story and source materials, all they need to do is just modernize the og experience to modern video games standard in terms of graphic, gameplay mechanics, story enhancement and etc. But in the remake, even though some of the og experience was cut out, the developers put more efforts in enhancing the story, lore, character personalities and background story, making the remake a more well paced story with a more logic gameplay experience, since some of the exaggerated or unnecessary level design that is not impactful to the core story are removed and instead replaced by contents and narrative that significantly flesh out the world and the characters.

    The gameplay experience in the remake is also more fast-paced and intense, enemies are faster, stronger, smarter and harder to stagger, and actively intent to surround the player really pose a challenge to even those who played the og before and can easily being overwhelmed by the enemies.

    Another gameplay experience worth mentioning when compared to the og is resource management. Resources such as ammo, healing item has a lower drop rate and less often to be found in the remake. Even the basic knife that exist since the og now has a durability meter in the remake which will be broken when overused. Therefore, players must consider different approach to defeat enemies using limited resources as possible. This gameplay aspect also make the remake more towards the series's survival horror theme rather than the og.

    As a fan of the original RE4 and it is one of my earliest beloved game since childhood, the RE4 Remake has again delivered the same satisfying experience that the og once offered. With that being said, the og and the remake are different enough that the remake won't be able to replace the og because many of the classic and fun level design can only be experienced in the original. That doesn't mean the remake failed to recreate the same fun that Resident Evil 4 have offered since 2005 but rather it's just a different approach to tell a minor-tweaked if not completely same RE4 story. Even though Resident Evil 4 remake has cut content and minor changes, it has no less than the og have to offer and in some aspect, it even have surpassed the original Resident Evil 4.

    I want to say this out loud, the og RE4 and the remake are both masterpiece, both are one of the most important game in the series and in the gaming industry. Big salute to Capcom for letting me experience again the fun once brought by Resident Evil 4 decades ago during my childhood. I actually feel happy and sad when I finished the remake because I have been waiting a game that could bring me the same sense of satisfaction when completing the og RE4 since my childhood, and never have I thought that the game that bring me that same satisfaction is non other than Resident Evil 4 remake itself. The huge satisfactory after completing the remake is still the same to me back when I completed the og after so many years, this nostalgia is something that I'll never forget. Leon doesn't move clunky at all, and the controls (on PS5 at least) are smooth. People complaining as if tons was cut are simply lying. I'm thrilled with this, I think they knocked this remake out of the park. Any score below 6 is likely not being an honest reviewer. I'd be surprised if anyone giving this below a 5 has even played it. It's a fantastic remake, and a really great game. Highly recommend it.… Expand

    Absolute 11/10 for me! Story‘s intriguing, locations beautiful and eerie, overall atmosphere on point. It IS different from the original PS4, which is why some may be disappointed, but therefore it‘s called reMAKE and not reMASTER! I‘ve enjoyed every minute of it.

Сюжет звезд с неба не хватает, но с своей ролью справляется, создает нужный темп и интригу. Локации разные, не запутанные, сокровища в них искать приятно и хочется это делать. Арсенал в игре обширнейший, от пистолета до ракетницы, и всё это добро, включая нож, можно прокачивать. Также есть доп. активности, нужные для фарма особых камушков, которые потом обмениваешь на разные плюшки у торгаша. И вот с проработкой этих квестов почти не парились, задания максимально банальные (убей крыс, сбей медальоны) и повторяются, за исключением пары оригинальных. Есть тир, который позволит и навыки стрельбы подтянуть, и выиграть разные бонусы вроде снижения стоимости апгрейдов, прикольная активность. В оригинал не играл, но говорят, что в целом в игре много чего поменяли, и в лучшую сторону - почти не осталось QTE, больше развили некоторых персонажей вроде Луиса, обновили механику ножа, добавили примитивный стелс, осовременили лвлдизайн и т.п. А вот что не нужно было добавлять так это магазин с микротранзакциями, в сингловой игре за фуллпрайс он нахер не нужен, а только руинит баланс и показывает жадность капком, что 70$ за ремейк им мало. Мало того, еще и длс с Адой не завезли, оно выйдет позже в этом году и 100% будет платным...
    Если же упускать момент с магазином, игра однозначно стоит внимания, это лучший хоррор экшн на данный момент.    … Expand

    A number of the game's portions are absent from the remake, which is sad.

    If their is such a thing as a perfect game, then this is it. Everything works like it should - that sounds like a low bar but it's a high one. Every controller press feels intuitive, graphic design is spot on, performance is good, its funny/scary/dramatic. At a minimum its at the same level as TLOU, RDR2 and other 'classics'.
    So glad I persevered with that opening stage!!!

    The resident evil 4 remake does what any good remake should do. Keep what was good and expand on everything else. I can say with full confidence that this is the definitive way to play resident evil 4. This is a must play for anyone.

I couldn't stop thinking about playing it some more when I took a break from it. Very rarely does a game hook me within the first few hours of playing it.

    - The main story is lengthier than RE 2's.
    - The AI is extremely intelligent and aggressive, forcing you to use every tool in your toolbox.
    - Movement is more fluid and less clunky than RE 2's.

    Mixed:

    - I still prefer RE 2's setting and atmosphere.
    - I could do without the blue papers. They don't add much to the experience.

    Negative:

    - Enemies can blow Leon up with dynamite while he performs a roundhouse kick. This problem may have been present in the original version. I wouldn't know; I never played it.

    Overall, this is not a must-play for fans of horror games. It is a must-play for anyone who plays games. Go out and buy it right now. I promise you will not regret it.    … Expand

    I was very sceptic after my disappointment with RE3 remake but I have been positively surprised. This is how a remake should be done! The game is a testament to the original RE4, while it respects the original story it brings updated mechanics with new elements that allow a smoother game play (the parry ability is a win). Mais nada que pese na qualidade final do jogo. Ficou muito bom graficamente, trilha sonora bakana tambem. A dublagem em português não gostei. A voz do Leon não condiz com o personagem. It keeps a lot of things the same while changing up the story and cutting some content here and adding it there. I think the remake is a much more balanced experience than the original and much more accessible to the modern gamer. Gameplay tweaks have helped to modernize the remake in certain aspects. One of the biggest complaints of the remake is leons sluggish movement, which I actually appreciated. I was worried about what a modern control scheme would do to the game since the tank controls were such an integral part of the fear in the gameplay of the original, but it seems capcom was aware of this and instead made leon move more sluggishly in order to nerf the control scheme of a modern third person shooter. Movement was always a source of anxiety in the original and I'm glad to see they have somewhat preserved that idea in the remake. One of the biggest complaints of the original is that it drug on for too long and I feel that capcom did a beautiful job of trimming some of the fat off of the story. Theres only one missing boss fight as far as I can tell that upset me but for the most part I really like what they did with the story. I also appreciated the new crafting system as it helped to maxmize income and helped me to more comfortably afford upgrades and items. I also like what they did with the knife system - knives now break and must be crafted and repaired but they are also much more useful. Enemies that grabbed leon can be instantly broken away from and damaged using the knives which helps to keep combat flowing a bit more smoothly. If other players don't appreciate that system as much as I did, a knife with infinite durability can be unlocked by breaking all of the costellan statues. I feel that capcom put a lot of thought into the changes of the remake and allowed it to be a wholly new experience while also sticking as close as possible to the original, I was very pleasantly surprised, I honestly thought this game would be terrible after the resident evil 3 remake. I'm so glad it wasn't. This is a great game, my only complaints are that it doesnt hit 60fps and I didnt like the change to salazars' boss fight and the removal of the u-3 bossfight. 9/10… Expand

    Don't believe them, this is a great game! For fans AND for players who would like to discover the license. It's a big 10/10 for me and not only to counterbalance all the disrespectful 0.

    I'm a big fan of the first hour, I played RE on PS1 in 1996 without a memory card, running out of ammo, had to finish Tyrant with the knife. And I love the way Capcom juggles between new episodes and very high quality remakes.

    After the failures of RE5 and RE6, it's a pleasure to see such investment, such mastery and such concern for the fans!    … Expand

    I didn’t think this game needed a remake and boy was I proven wrong this remake is an absolute masterpiece lots of new content and different puzzles that are actually very creative. The combat is so intense especially since the AI is actually smarter and they will surround you so you gotta move and figure out the best way to navigate and defeat your enemies. The game completely re do environments and areas the game fixes a lot of the pacing issues from the original game if something is cut they replace it with something different. The knife system is much improved here you can parry almost everything while also your knife takes damage itself don’t worry though cause you can find other knives in the environment that breaks much more easier but use those before using your combat knife. You can even stealth kill now there’s even more lore this time around I was so interested in the files they tell a lot of backstory even characters have much more growth here. The only issue with this remake is Ada she’s very underutilized and the actress doesn’t fit ada style at all she sounds very boring here also you’ll have to wait for dlc for her story now. Other than that this remake is masterful and unique and I think both games can exist now on their own.… Expand

Now, while it may have been unnecessary to remake this game (the original only feels dated in a couple minor ways), the remake builds on and modernizes the experience in fresh and exhilaratingThe original Resident Evil 4, released in 2005, is one the most definitive and important releases of the last 3 decades.     The backdrop here is the same, you play as Leon and are trying to save Ashley, the presidents daughter, who has been kidnapped and is going to be used in some secret plot to infect the US with the new plaga bug. Yes, this is still kind of a silly opening and premise for this game but it is a little more effective this time around due to Ashley being a much more fleshed out character. Ashley is no longer a complete damsel in distress, her dialogue and actions are a great improvement over the original. She forms a much more believable bond with Leon this time around. Leon is as stoic an heroic as he was in the original, he is so serious with almost all of his dialogue that it borders on being very funny almost every time he opens his mouth. He is more like an 80s action star now, mixing in a lot of quips during fights like "bingo" when you blow a Ganado's head off or "guess we're about to find out" when asked if he gets car sick before getting on a mine cart. But, in true Resident Evil fashion, nobody is really here for the dialogue and story.

    Resident Evil 4 brought the franchise out from being survival horror focused to being full on balls to the wall action centric. The game liberally throws enemy after enemy and set pieces at you around every corner. There is no shortage of ammunition, knives, and grenades to slow you down in your rescue mission to find Ashley. All the weapons have a great feel and weight to them when you succeed in staggering or blowing off the appendages of the Ganados. The new knife system, including a fun and visually appealing parry system, adds another layer to this action masterpiece.

    There are a significant number of changes to the original design, mostly in additional objectives and side material. The map is now a little more open now allowing for Leon to backtrack and complete various side objectives for the merchant that reward new gear and items. The crafting system, attaché cases, and shooting range all received overhauls to make them more modern feeling and fresh. The crafting system is pulled directly from the new Resident Evils with the gunpowder and resources to craft which ammo you prefer.

    I have played through the original several times so was a little bummed to see some pulled sequences, the action set pieces are not 1 to 1 with the original. Just to name a few, there is no longer the runaway boulder, the giant Salazar statue, the lava/fire room, the Krauser knife fight, and most unfortunately the harrowing fight against the creature in the caves with the falling platforms that you had to beat. I understand some of these changes, most of these were quick time events that really had no place in a modern game. It just does kind of feel bad when a specific sequence you are anticipating isn't in the remake of a game, but it is easy to not let it affect your experience when the minute to minute action is so fun.

    My only other real gripe is that Leon's controls and movement feel a little wobbly and stunted at times. Leon does not exactly stop and turn on a dime in this game making him easy prey for the enemies charge attacks and makes it very difficult to dodge, dynamite, trip wires, or any of the other projectiles they throw at you.

    Overall, while I don't think it reaches the highs of the original or the excellence of the RE2 remake, this is a wonderful reimagining of on of the best games of all time.    … Expand

    Now this is a real Resident Evil, they fixed everything that was frustrating and massive in the old one, modernized it, deepened the story, gave it a more survival horror atmosphere, and reduced the amount of ridiculous scenes from the old one (yes, I'm talking about you lasers). Definitely the best Remake, it not only modernizes but IMPROVES, I hope Outbreak gets a remake like this.

    What can I say? I remember when I was a kid playing RE4 what times and now this version takes me back to those glorious moments. The game is great, the story, the gameplay, the graphics, it's a 10 without hesitation. Best Resident Evil for me

    So so good, this game really made my inner child SCREAM of excitement. RE4 will forever be my fav childhood game. If you love the original RE4, TRUST, you will want to play the remake. I only gave it a 9/10 because a certain boss was cut out (obviously I'm mad about it) but nonetheless, it's still an amazing game.

    This remake is awesome and amazing. I tried to play the ps4 remaster a few years ago and couldn't get past the first 15 minutes. The tank controls, fixed camera angles, poor audio, and subpar graphics were just too detrimental for me to enjoy. This version perfectly addressed all of those issues and I am able to fully enjoy this game. This is the definitive version of the game.

    Excellent game that is a true love letter to the original. From the refined mechanics including the parry system to the improved visuals and deeper lore/backstory to each character, it feels like a new game while being faithful to the original.

    It's been a long time since I enjoyed a Resident Evil 100%. I can boldly say that Resident Evil 4, in addition to the best remake, is considered the best third-person version of this series. Thank you Capcom for creating such a quality work

    A very successful remake. Gameplay and mechanics are good. The only problem I think is the unnecessary boss battles that increase towards the end. I finished it in 11 hours and it was fun.

    The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
