    Original was a masterpiece already. They only ramped it up to 11 in terms of graphics and gameplay.

    I think this game would be perfect, don't listen to the idiots review bombing this game. People like those can’t be pleased no matter what. This game feels so much better than the original, they’ve improved the controls (especially on pc, the classic controls were honestly abysmal). They’ve also improved and added on to some areas in the game, while practically leaving other areas untouched. Of course, this game’s graphics can’t be ignored either. They’re absolutely gorgeous, and it runs surprisingly well (for me, at least. I’ve heard others have had performance so don’t take my word for it. The way the characters are written have been improved from the original as well— the most notable changes being with Ashley. Much more likable and less annoying than the original. Combat has also been improved on, especially the close combat. A new mechanic with parrying has been added, where if you press a specific button at the right time, you can parry *almost* any attack and follow up with a kick or bullets to the brain. Of course there are some exceptions, like with some bosses, projectiles (although you can parry axes that are thrown at you and arrows that are shot at you, surprisingly) and of course some attacks like grabs. Capcom made this a great remake with greatly improving the original, also keeping and polishing the same values it had while, on top of that, removing some of the less enjoyable aspects the original had (like those quick time events, which were super unnecessary in my opinion.)… Expand

    Don't believe them, this is a great game! For fans AND for players who would like to discover the license. It's a big 10/10 for me and not only to counterbalance all the disrespectful 0.

    I'm a big fan of the first hour, I played RE on PS1 in 1996 without a memory card, running out of ammo, had to finish Tyrant with the knife. And I love the way Capcom juggles between new episodes and very high quality remakes.

    After the failures of RE5 and RE6, it's a pleasure to see such investment, such mastery and such concern for the fans!    … Expand

    Excellent game, capcom was not disappointed and brought a product to the height of its original, keeping the essence and adding a pinch of innovation, thus pleasing old and new players.

    An old masterpiece in a new wrapper. In addition to the fact that the remake preserves all the advantages of the original, it also supplements them with its advantages and new game mechanics. Some plot points are reworked to make for a more logical story. There is no point in talking about the visual part, everything is visible here anyway.

    I didn’t think this game needed a remake and boy was I proven wrong this remake is an absolute masterpiece lots of new content and different puzzles that are actually very creative. The combat is so intense especially since the AI is actually smarter and they will surround you so you gotta move and figure out the best way to navigate and defeat your enemies. Every gun has much more punch to it now and the remake even improves Ashley’s gameplay you no longer have to worry about Ashley health anymore since there is no health bar for her anymore. The game completely re do environments and areas the game fixes a lot of the pacing issues from the original game if something is cut they replace it with something different. The knife system is much improved here you can parry almost everything while also your knife takes damage itself don’t worry though cause you can find other knives in the environment that breaks much more easier but use those before using your combat knife. You can even stealth kill now there’s even more lore this time around I was so interested in the files they tell a lot of backstory even characters have much more growth here. The only issue with this remake is Ada she’s very underutilized and the actress doesn’t fit ada style at all she sounds very boring here also you’ll have to wait for dlc for her story now. Other than that this remake is masterful and unique and I think both games can exist now on their own.… Expand

    Best remake ever alongside Dead Space. Ada's voice sounds like it was recorded on a Nokia but other than that it was fantastic and improved upon the original. One of the GOATs.

    Not sure why the user score is so low. I played this on ps5 and felt like it was a nearly perfect game. Didnt have any performance issues, it ran very well and I couldn’t stop playing it. Amazing, must play game

    Capcom has done it, a perfect remake. Resident evil 4 remake is just as good as the original but with everything modernised. People who never played the original back in the day are in for a real treat. It's got the potential to be GOTY. The people who gave it negative ratings must not be Resident Evil fans.

    Absolutely phenomenal job from Capcom, they upped the horror, the gunplay is still as amazing as ever and the graphics are stunning, absolutely flawless remake

    RE4 é o remake perfeito, tirando algumas partes ruins do original e colocando várias referências. Sua ambientação é muito bem feita, principalmente por trazer um ar mais sombrio. O jogo tem muitas mecânicas novas que tornam a experiencia muito melhor.

    Absolutely amazing game. The controls are perfect, graphics are impressive and the gameplay is really fun. It's atmospheric and can be very intense. I couldn't have asked for a better remake. I have completed original RE4 probably 7 times.

    Jogo sensacional. Vale cada centavo. Jogabilidade excelente. Gráficos lindos, história envolvente. Não gosto muito da franquia mas esse jogo foi o melhor que já joguei até hj.

    The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
