    Awesome game!

    RE 2 remake was a proof on how to make a perfect remake with respecting the source material but at the same time adding extra content. I just finished RE 4 remake and i can say that this game did what RE2 remake did but better. I was a bit spectic when the critics all gave it a 10, but now i get it. What made Resident evil 4 such a success was its story, its inovation and    Awesome game!

What made Resident evil 4 such a success was its story, its inovation and its step from going from a horror came to an action horror game similair to Last of Us, not only did this remake respect all of it but it turned its modern twist on it and it works.     Pessoal que tá dando 0 pra esse jogo é maluco, só pq não dá pra ver a calcinha da Ashley os caras estão putos. Esse jogo é maravilho, gameplay divertida, deixou a história mais madura e menos galhofa (não entendam mal, amo a **** do RE4 original), desenvolveram muito mais os personagens, o fator replay é insano, vc vai rejogar aquilo dezenas de vezes sem enjoar, a dublagem br ficouPessoal que tá dando 0 pra esse jogo é maluco, só pq não dá pra ver a calcinha da Ashley os caras estão putos. Esse jogo é maravilho, gameplay divertida, deixou a história mais madura e menos galhofa (não entendam mal, amo a **** do RE4 original), desenvolveram muito mais os personagens, o fator replay é insano, vc vai rejogar aquilo dezenas de vezes sem enjoar, a dublagem br ficou incrivel e a ambientação é exelente. Adorei todas as mudanças, o clima mais sombrio do castelo e da vila e até a ilha que eu achava um porre no original aqui eu gostei.     6.7, really? this has to be one of the best games I have ever played. Ya we all have different tastes, but 6.7... my butt. This was pure fun, lots of play time, and a massive improvement over the last gen. Super clean movement, targeting, an NO bugs. Awesome.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pluses:
    -The gameplay is just spectacular. I literally have nothing more to say about it. It's the best gameplay I have ever seen.
    -Most of locations are putted in different spots which makes the game more exciting since you never know where you'll end up next yet you still have this feeling that you're playing a remake and it's just amazing.
    -The puzzles are actually harder and there's more of them than in the original compare to re2 and re3 remakes.
    -Side quests, optional unlockables and overall backtracking which I'm a fan of
    -The shooting range is 300 times more fun than the original. The score challenge, Ashley commenting, the music, the charms with models from the original game. God. It's just fantastic.
    -The merchant's voice may not be as satisfying to listen as in the original yet he has all of the original's lines and lots of new ones and the voice actor still does an amazing job non the less.
    -the gun physics are extremely good. And the boat's physics are amazing compare to that shame we got in re8.
    -the game is extremely realistic. The last time I saw so much detail in a videogame was The Last of Us Part 2. May be this game still lacks in some situations(window's glass breaking into hundred dufferent particles you all can touch individualy) yet it still does better than 95% of AAA games of current gaming industry which is astounding.
    -Ashley feels more realistic with all her comments. Her screaming is less annoying and the voice actor just does a great job overally.
    Minuses:(don't get me wrong. This is now my second favorite game of all time because how amazing it is and I'll definitely play it million times in the future yet still nothing is perfect)
    -the soundtrack is kinda meh. There are few amazing tracks I definitely liked( Del Lago's theme for example or shooting range theme(frickin amazing one)) but overally it loses to the original's soundtrack. The original's soundtrack was both creepy, ambient and orchesteical which made you want to listen to it over and over again. It just never felt scary because the enemies and the enviourments weren't trying that hard to be scary unlike the remake.
    -the second El Gigante encounter is kinda unfair and made me mad because sometimes after jumping off the bridge you're out in the open and can't hide behind a cover before you get hit by a rock or struck by a zealot. It was kind of unfair
    -the game tries really hard to bring back Leon's some cheasy one-liners yet most of the times they are said by him at a wrong situation or in a wrong way which kind of makes it sound a bit cringe to me. Idk. May be this is just a me only thing.
    Still 10 out 10 for everything else this game has to offer. I would gave more if I could.    … Expand

    This is the best remake I've ever played, this along with Final Fantasy VII is how a REMAKE should be done, faithful to the original, while adding extra content

    Simply AMAZING!!

    Can't wait to play The Mercenaries again!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have beaten the og re4 over 20 times, and it’s one of the best games I’ve played. Even after that, I can say this game is better. This remake is easily the best video game remake ever, and the only way people can say the original is better is because they’re blinded by nostalgia. The gameplay, atmosphere, characters, controls, graphics, story, enemy design, boss battles, weapon variety, and soundtrack are all better in this game than the original. The island is the most improved area, and all 3 sections in this game are a 10/10 for me. The microtransactions are harmless, and the game has so much replay value that is doesn’t feel like a grind fest trying to unlock things. U3 is not in the main story, but I feel that he will be added in Separate Ways, because the original one was a letdown and did not have much variety. He was also one of the scariest parts of the original and one of my personal favorite fights, but the game got so much added to it that I don’t mind him not being in the main story. Salazar and Saddler’s boss fights were the weakest in the original, and both got improved a lot. Also, I love all the new costumes and accessories they added. The only complaint I have is about bugs like backgrounds not fully loading sometimes until you get closer or vases and boxes being put back even when in broken pieces after you break them, and you can see the broken pieces not touching each other even though it’s supposed to look like it got put back together. I have been a Resident Evil fan for over 15 years, and I am so happy that they continue to improve their games. Dev 1 is the best horror development team of all time now after making 4 masterpieces in RE7, RE2 Remake, RE8, and RE4 Remake.… Expand

    To see this new version of RE4 taking all of that in its stride with such confidence is, frankly, staggering. It never misses a beat, it perfectly captures the spirit of its source material, and all the while, it also makes meaningful, significant improvements and changes that elevate an already masterful experience to even greater heights. As I said at the beginning of this review, history has repeated itself, because once again, Resident Evil 4 is one of best survival horror games I’ve ever played, and one of the greatest games of all time.    … Expand

    Resident Evil 4 Remake is the best remake title available on the market currently (2023) in my opinion. Compared with the og RE4 released in 2005, this remake successfully achieved balance in remained faithful to the og while delivering fresh reimagine and enhanced RE4 story to the og fans.

    I always think that a remake title is meant to replace the og, because when a remake is released,    Resident Evil 4 Remake is the best remake title available on the market currently (2023) in my opinion. Compared with the og RE4 released in 2005, this remake successfully achieved balance in remained faithful to the og while delivering fresh reimagine and enhanced RE4 story to the og fans.

    I always think that a remake title is meant to replace the og, because when a remake is released, very little new players would want play the og since there is a modernized version of that game exist. Because of that, I always think the developers should stay 100% faithful in the og story and source materials, all they need to do is just modernize the og experience to modern video games standard in terms of graphic, gameplay mechanics, story enhancement and etc. But in the remake, even though some of the og experience was cut out, the developers put more efforts in enhancing the story, lore, character personalities and background story, making the remake a more well paced story with a more logic gameplay experience, since some of the exaggerated or unnecessary level design that is not impactful to the core story are removed and instead replaced by contents and narrative that significantly flesh out the world and the characters.

    The gameplay experience in the remake is also more fast-paced and intense, enemies are faster, stronger, smarter and harder to stagger, and actively intent to surround the player really pose a challenge to even those who played the og before and can easily being overwhelmed by the enemies.

    Another gameplay experience worth mentioning when compared to the og is resource management. Resources such as ammo, healing item has a lower drop rate and less often to be found in the remake. Even the basic knife that exist since the og now has a durability meter in the remake which will be broken when overused. Therefore, players must consider different approach to defeat enemies using limited resources as possible. This gameplay aspect also make the remake more towards the series's survival horror theme rather than the og.

    As a fan of the original RE4 and it is one of my earliest beloved game since childhood, the RE4 Remake has again delivered the same satisfying experience that the og once offered. With that being said, the og and the remake are different enough that the remake won't be able to replace the og because many of the classic and fun level design can only be experienced in the original. That doesn't mean the remake failed to recreate the same fun that Resident Evil 4 have offered since 2005 but rather it's just a different approach to tell a minor-tweaked if not completely same RE4 story. Even though Resident Evil 4 remake has cut content and minor changes, it has no less than the og have to offer and in some aspect, it even have surpassed the original Resident Evil 4.

    I want to say this out loud, the og RE4 and the remake are both masterpiece, both are one of the most important game in the series and in the gaming industry. Big salute to Capcom for letting me experience again the fun once brought by Resident Evil 4 decades ago during my childhood. I actually feel happy and sad when I finished the remake because I have been waiting a game that could bring me the same sense of satisfaction when completing the og RE4 since my childhood, and never have I thought that the game that bring me that same satisfaction is non other than Resident Evil 4 remake itself. The huge satisfactory after completing the remake is still the same to me back when I completed the og after so many years, this nostalgia is something that I'll never forget. A 10/10 experience indeed.    … Expand

    After beating both games this week i can say that this remake its better than the original in every single aspect. its a masterpiece and probably deserves the GOTY. for now im waiting for "the mercenaries and separate ways" Capcom will release them soon and the game will be even better.

Resident Evil 4 brings several improvements over the great original, such as combat improvements, mobility, and a better story. While there are some minor issues, the game deserves a 10/10 because they are just MINOR issues. Such as 1 dimensional villains, worse zombie dogs, and those goddamn crossbows in the water hall.… Expand

    Wow this game is so good! Sad I didn't play the original back then. My first play through took around 13 and a half hours and I was exploring collecting treasures and doing the side missions. On my second It only took me 9 I was saving for the infinite rocket launcher. Just about to start my 3rd play through on professional mode. Soo hooked on this game.

    The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
