    Great game, it's rare that a sequel is able to be on par or even surpass the first game in some instances. Some bugs, however I am certain they will be fixed in the upcoming days and weeks.

    Remarkable experience, combat system has evolved drastically, underwater is simply amazing, graphics are definitely top notch, one of the best games of Guerrilla for sure, this is their second open world game, therefore there are a lot of to improve, but I believe that their third Horizon game will be a 10 must play

    C'est juste parfait, j'ai passer plus de 12h de jeux à ne faire que des missions secondaire et des point d'intérêt et il m'en reste encore à faire je n'ai pas explorer tout l'ouest de la map ! Les graphismes sont géniaux, le scénario est incroyable et les personnages (principaux ou secondaire comme boomer par exemple) sont superbement écris et drôle !

    Mejora bastante con respecto al 1 juego, la jugabilidad es mejor al momento de explorar el mundo, visualmente se ve increíble, gran historia y un mundo abierto interesante con bastante contenido en misiones extra

    Dialogue,dialogue,dialogue.... can you please take note from a great game like dark souls. Less is more!
    Gameplay and upgrade tree is cool and fun, but ruined by boring story and way too much dialogue that I get bored spamming x through.

    Just fantastic! Even on just a normal PS4 this game is gorgeous. Tons of fun to be had in the forbidden west.

    20 Hours in, if you enjoyed Zero Dawn. You will Enjoy Forbidden West. Story is compelling, graphics are amazing. Performance mode works better for my set up. And the skills and leveling system are all an upgrade from from its predecessor. One of the few games where the sandbox checklist never gets dull, love getting lost in Horizons world!

    IMHO I believe that this is a great game... I gave is a 9 because of this. It has is flaws(every game does, especially after it had just released).. However, Horizon: Forbidden West is no Culyberpunk 2077 nor is it like Anthem in terms of quality after launch.

    I believe a huge part of why this game is getting review bombed is because gamers have evolved from actually loving games to    IMHO I believe that this is a great game... I gave is a 9 because of this. It has is flaws(every game does, especially after it had just released).. However, Horizon: Forbidden West is no Culyberpunk 2077 nor is it like Anthem in terms of quality after launch.

    I believe a huge part of why this game is getting review bombed is because gamers have evolved from actually loving games to gamers now being 50/50 where 50% see the game as an amazing game and understand that no game is perfect at launch and the other 50% acting like spoiled adults who expect nothing less than flawless.

    With this in mind, ONLY YOU can be the judge of the quality of the game.

    I recommend giving this game a try. But that will be ultimately be up to you.    … Expand

    This is another Game which has everything:

    -Graphics 10/10 (best possible on PS5 right now)
    -Gameplay 10/10
    -Story 9/10 (Horizon 1 Story was more exciting, but its still very good)

    Only Clowns vote this game below 7-8/10.

    Finished zero dawn at 90% and was so eager to start forbiden west. Such a disappointment, it looks like an add on of zero dawn. Story is flat, no emotion, and even worst: this game is full of bugs… already at 25%, yesterday I ended up in the inside part of a rock, as if it was a room, but could not get out of it unless loading last saving… plus watching the game, a female hero, blackFinished zero dawn at 90% and was so eager to start forbiden west.     Just a fantastic open world game. Reminds me of Breath of the wild and Horizon Zero Dawn. Absolutely beautiful world.
    Strong storytelling On point controls Superb game mechanics And The Witcher 3esque side quests. Near perfect. Love it ❤️

    Amazingly detailed and beautiful game with a strong female protagonist and great storyline. Game play on PS4 has been seamless. I'm constantly blown away by the attention to detail and how life like the mannerisms and facial expressions of all the NPCs are. Highly recommend this game!

    I think this is one of the mostly beautiful games I have ever played. The characters feel real (a huge improvement from Zero Dawn). It looks like they really did something with the critics from Zero Dawn. The visuals are so amazing I often find myself just enjoying the view. The story (so far) is amazing too. And the open world is like no other. There is so much to do. That 10 hours in theI think this is one of the mostly beautiful games I have ever played.     I really don't understand the negative critics. Ik see people write about 'woke' and all other things. Firs of all the fact that the lead character is a woman is a welcome change. If you you masculinity can't handle this, that's on you. Furthermore you might come across a LGBT person. Wow big shock, just like in real life. There's nothing being pushed here (and what if there was?). If these are reasons for you not to buy the best game out here, that on your fragile masculinity. In that case you are not worth the best game of the year.

    If you love amazing graphics, action and suspense, a huge open world full of meaningful (side-) quest (not your typical (boring) fetch-quest) you should 100% buy this game!    … Expand

    One of the best games I've played in years. Controls, graphics and the best story, I've ever seen in a video game (except for its predecessor: Horizon Zero Dawn, which was also amazing) and I play video games since 1988...

Did they fired previous graphic and hire some ugly fatso? Plot are better BUT on other hand its not as new as previous one - we know what we're dealing with. Questchain is quite on same level of complexity.     Game is very good, and deserves to be own and played for everyone with PS4/5 now, and on PC in near future (yes ponies, PC is not "enemy platform" coz its like comparing Suzuki Hayabusa to Aston Martin Vanquish).     About 20 hours in and love it a big improvement from the first game with more melee combat options customisation and graphics that are so good people are review bombing becaus they are salty they cant afford it or are on a different platform like they did with spiderman game when it came out on. Overall i'm very disappointed and i think my low score is absolutely justified. Like i said, very bad graphics in 60fps mode, cheesy/boring writing. There were some cool places like Golden Gate Bridge and some underwater locations, but that's not enough to make this game a "masterpiece". Overall it was very mediocre and if the biggest highlight of your game is old Golden Gate Bridge and not the story, characters or overall open world, then something is wrong.… Expand

    The game runs flawlessly on PS5. The bugs the 0/10 people are saying is there, aren't there. They merely like to review bomb. Sites like this should be avoided by game developers as a measurement to determine if a game gets dlc or sequels made. The game is a beautiful masterpiece. The story is phenomenal. Combat is good, graphics are good, overall, one of the best exclusives Sony has.

    This is not a 4 or even a 6 those who are review bombing obviously neither played the first game or have even given this game a chance the story may not be so interesting because you have no idea what is going on because you’ve spent a total of 10 hours in this universe like just hang out in your corner where nobody listens to you horizon goty contender easily

    Tarda unas horas en arrancar, pero cuando lo hace no hay vuelta atrás. La secuela de Zero Dawn mejora en todo a su predecesor, ofreciendo horas de contenido de calidad, combates asombrosos y un apartado visual al alcance de pocas compañías. Un must de PS5.

    آقا من یادمه تو نسخه اول اصلا یه حال و هوایی داشت پیدا کردن تکنولوژی قدیمیها تو زیرزمینها با اون آهنگ اکشن و راز آلودی که میزد ولی این ورژن خیلی خوبه گرافیکش ولی شخصیت ایلوی انگار خیلی از خود متشکر و اعتماد به نفس کاذب داره بیشتر بقیه ان پی سی ها رو مسخره میکنه یا اونا رو خنگ فرض میکنه راستی این دختر نمیخواد از یه پسر خوشش بیاد؟ شایدم ....!!!

Finding old technology in the basements with that action-packed and mysterious music.But this version has very good graphics, but Ilvi's character seems to be very thankful and has false self-confidence.Does he make fun of most of the other NPCs or thinks they are dumb?     The first things I notice when I played Forbidden West for the first time was how amazing the game looks, it have improved leaps and bounds compare to Zero Dawn, they had improved the facial animation in the game, and the character have more life as they improved the voice acting in this game as well.

    The new design of the UI and Inventory system is definitely better than the first game, and the new skill tree in the game is much more in depth as they offer a lot more variety of perks depending on your playstyle. Stealth is much more viable in this game due to the skill tree and the new equipments that are available in the game which is a surprising welcome.

    As much as I love this game, it's definitely not a perfect game and there's some flaws in the gameplay that I would like to point out. Climbing on a terrain in the game is super janky which was one of the complain I had with the previous game too same goes when Aloy is trying to jump. Trying to play the game in 60 FPS may cause some minor flickering especially when you're in a battle.

    The story in this game could have done more as I was expecting more given that we waited for 5 years for a sequel. The story have a slow start, especially the first five hours of the game but I'm glad that it start picking up. Without spoiling anything, I wish they could had cover more on certain characters and tribes. Overall I do enjoy the game and the story and it's worth the time I spend on the game.    … Expand

    Game is amazing on the PS5, have seen no bug's or glitches 20 hours in everything is smooth! Only problem is way to much dialogue with NPC when you get to interact with them, I didn't really need 10 minutes worth of info from every quest giver. Don't believe these people giving the game a 1 they are just mad that it's a good game and that just irrates their fragile souls!

Now the ending was very unpleasing to me. I have waited years for this game and the story is like, imagine what'll haopen in the next episode.     Hard difficulty is actually hard (i think), not like the prequel.

    Negative: 3 things.
    1. The reaction time of switching weapons in the quickmenu (pressing L1) is too damn slow. It almost seems like the righttrigger isnt working because of the delay. 2. Loading the map is too slow (sometimes up to 5 seconds) which makes it very anoying to have a quick look on the map to see where to go. I hope this can be fixed for ps4, i guess the ps4 is just not fully suited for this game.
    3. Horseriding (on chargers) isn't functioning that well: it stops immediately when there is a larger rock in the way because it can't stay on the path. Also crossing smaller bridges is the hardest thing to do in this game...    … Expand

    I even signed up to leave a review. The game is such an improvement compared to the Zero Dawn. The visuals and facial animations are on another level, it is really enjoyable to watch and listen to every dialogue. So far it is the most advanced game on PS5.

    Game is seriously amazing. I honestly think people giving it negative reviews either have a brain problem, or all games don't measure up to their sky high standards. I would compare this game with Witcher 3, where you don't have assets reused constantly. I have encountered a few bugs, nothing game breaking. Tried to use a fast travel kit while on my mount, next to a area that was locked behind a quest. Instead of arriving at the campfire I selected, I flew into the sky, and then loading screen. Then I appeared behind a tree next to a cliff, inside the area I wasnt supposed to be in. I was able to leave the area and that was it. The minigame is so much fun sometimes it's all I want to do. This game is seriously a gem, and can't wait to get further along in the story. The atmosphere is so vibrant and full of life, such a breath of fresh air compared to other games that feel dead compared to this one. My main point is this game truly feels "next-gen". They went on to improve every single element of the first game, graphics, story, gameplay, voice acting, game engine, literally everything is a step up from the first game. After a few patches, this game is going to be one of those games that's just "perfect". Once again, anyone complaining either hasn't played the game yet, or no games have ever reached their ridiculous level of standards. I have pretty high standards when it comes to games, and I feel like Forbidden West completely blew my expectations.… Expand

The scenery is beautiful, the motion capture, animations and voice acting are incredible, the game is massive and the side-quests are great, this game took everything that worked from the previous game and improve it. There are some bugs I’m sure will be fixed in nexts patches but other than that, my only criticism is I’mIt is absolutely amazing, it really feels truly a next-gen game.     It completely builds on everything that the original does well, and expands on characters, machines and especially gameplay. The plot is fun and compelling and even the side quests are engaging as they can lead into a bigger quest line which creates an impact to the world.

    A step up from an amazing game! Small bugs aside and an iffy "resolution" mode, I still find this one of my favorite games of all time. There is so much to do and it doesn't feel grindy at all. One of the best stories in a game coupled to extremely fun combat. Stealth is fun as well. Just awesome...

    Did you know that women have actually more facial hair than men. They just ar less visible. True fact.

    Technically the game is pretty disappointing, especially in his passfiding I found atrocious and frustrating. Aloy pass trough textures when climbing.

    Boring dialogues, boring romances, boring minigame.

Exploring is horrible since they added metroid mechanics and you always need a tool so backtracking is enforced. Aloys jump is terrible and needs adjusted. The melee combat is worse since it does no damage. You also can not override any robots for a long timeThis is bad start for a sequel.     I said it back when HZD was out and I'll say it again, this IP does nothing to move the needle on RPGs. There is no captivating feature to differentiate itself from the monotony that is modern RPGs. This game has 2 things going for it... it looks a lot better than the original (albeit with terrible and underperforming graphical settings), and the fluidity within combat seems to have beenI said it back when HZD was out and I'll say it again, this IP does nothing to move the needle on RPGs. There is nothing else to really talk about positively.

    The game is boring, the acting is awful, the characters look and talk like wooden planks, the optimization is awful, the story is nonsensical and was clearly written by anti-white feminists, there's glitches and bugs all over the place, the side quests are repetitive, and the soundtrack is mediocre to say the least.

    Let's call a spade a spade here and mention a few things:

    1. HFW was released in a broken/unpolished state, a state in which we, the gaming community, universally pan other releases for doing... Anthem, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077, BF 2042, Dying Light 2, and deservedly so, because in modern gaming, the examples are endless... but somehow HFW gets a pass? Why? A female lead? A first party title? The “right message”?

    2. The bots brigading these ratings, in conjunction with deleted negative reviews, that are making this site become less and less reliable for honest criticism are inflating this score from where it should be... 2 days ago, this game was sitting at a 6.8 user score, and just yesterday, had around 3500 "positive" reviews and around 870 negative reviews... you are telling me that there has been 900 positive reviews and only 60 negative reviews overnight? (4368 & 926 respectively at time of writing) For a game that has a plethora of bugs and issues that are preventing people from even playing? Of course, there are bots on both sides, no denying, but just like TLOU2, it feels like this game is being protected from criticism.

    3. There is no heart and soul in this game. If anyone has played RPGs in the past 10 years, they will know that this is another copy of the same generic formula, question marks littered throughout the map with the same sort of encounters or loot, repetitive loot grinding to "craft" whatever nonsense to progress, a tool that is received later to have you backtrack and access "new" areas with the same loot, a perk tree that unlocks the same tiring abilities we have seen for years or increase whatever output by x%, dialogue options that do nothing, do these sound familiar? Artificial time wasting as popularized by modern Assassin's Creed.

    I am sorry to the Sony fans out there that are desperate for this game to be good because they are engaging in this pointless console war, but this game is terrible, and its prequel is middling at best. You have God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, & Ratchet & Clank RA, great games, which are vastly superior to this nonsense. HFW should be getting panned like CP 2077 & AC would, but alas, here we are with another awful RPG that slips under the radar because its too "important" to be criticized.

    RPGs almost always had that same, similar formula I mentioned before, the same perk/skill enhancements, areas of interest, and even bugs and glitches at launch, but what sets games like The Witcher, Fallout New Vegas, & Mass Effect apart from most of this modern garbage? Excellent writing and story-telling, well-designed characters, great voice acting, choices that matter, replay-ability, and creators that care about their product... HFW, and HZD for that matter, have none of this.

    This was more of a rant, rather than a review, but the truth needed to be said. We are losing great single player RPG games because of releases like this, and people need to stop buying these soulless IPs. Layers of pretty graphics covering a lifeless puddle of “content”.    … Expand

    C'est simple Horizon 1 je n'ai accroché qu'a la troisieme tentative car je trouvais le scenario peu passionnant lea dialogues était mou et les quetes secondaire ennuyante.

    1. The game spends WAY WAY too much time telling you things you already know from the past game, I know they want new players to understand the story, but at times it just felt insulting. Literally the first 1+ hours of the game is more or less recapping the previous title and then contuniously reminds you through conversation throughout the game. 2. BLOAT and inefficient upgrade system. With more machines and animals it means that upgrading weapons becomes more tedious than in it was in it’s predecessor, I want to state that I dont mind having more variety of machines and animals, but honestly I much preferred the simplicity of the first game where if I wanted a weapon I just found the machine I needed, got the part, bought the weapon (or armor) and added coils… In HFW I have to get the parts to buy the weapon, get the parts from different machines for each upgrade, and its way more time consuming than it ever needed to be, and I guess that’s where alot of my problems stem from, everything was made to be more complicated than it was before and they took tasks that were simple before and made them an insulting waste of my time that made me just deal with being under equipped for most of the game, also the skill trees are primarily minor upgrades, but also give to ultimate abilities and like bonus weapon functions, but I’ll be honest, I really only ever activated them on accident.

    3. Performance and graphics. I want to state that the game is just as beautiful as the first! The performance is generally great… on Performance, but there were a few times were my game turned into a 8 FPS slideshow, specifically in winter areas, and I had to restart my PS5 to fix it. The resolution mode i was unplayable for me, I really wanted all those beautiful shots and vistas in the best graphics, but the poor performance of resolution mode quickly gave me a headache and the switch was made to performance mode for the rest of the game.

    4. I don’t want to spoil anything, but to me the big bads and then the reveal of an even bigger big bad at the end was for me just kind of like “Why?” I definitely feel like the game could have dropped these, tweaked the story a bit, change the villains to something a little less out there and it would have been better, suffice to say, the end of the game certainly does not have me itching to get a sequel.

    In the end I dont think this game brought anything to the world of Horizon that added to either my enjoyment of the gameplay or the story itself, although I definitely feel like with some story tweaks and less bloat that this could have been a worthy successor, but for the time being of I want to scratch my horizon itch, I’ll start a NG+ on HZD, honestly I might just do that anyways to cleanse my pallet and get this bad taste out of my mouth.    … Expand

    Been playing this game since launch. Guerrilla Games have done an outstanding job in improving HZD and creating a beautiful game in HFW. The DualSense has added a great sense of immersion. Phenomenal experience and another great game to add to my library.

    Now the bad
    This is going to be a long list.
    -Bugs. This is probably the first thing that as a gamer I don’t appreciate in a big title like this. Bugs are too frequent especially while transversal. In combat sometimes you are not able to wield weapon. It hasn’t happened often but couple of times. You can stuck in rocks or bushes or any other thing and getting out of it becomes super hard.
    -Getting around the world is another issue. See the open world game needs a robust system that favours exploration. However, in this game it is not that good. First there is no stable thing that you can ride and go along. If your mounting machine is destroyed you literally have to search for another override it and then take it back to the same location where you first left. This is really frustrating.
    -Now the biggest issue. Combat. Dude the melee system is the worst combat I have seen in any open world game. The moves are super basic. Even after unlocking many new moves it still didn’t feel right. Ranged weapons are good but again enemies are so aggressive that it is almost impossible to find a perfect spot to use ranged weapons. The machine will jump over you while aiming and the whole point of ranging weapons is gone. Stealth has same issues. -Difficulty unbalanced. I have no problem with difficult games. Being a Souls games lover I enjoy difficulty, but in this game it is unbalanced. As I explained the enemies can cover huge distance in one jump which makes ranging and melee moves insignificant.
    -Too many dialogues. I think when games focus too much on explaining each and everything it breaks the bridge between player and game. Most of the time I am just waiting to finish the dialogue. It really made me skip most of the dialogues entirely. -Upgrading system is little complex because it offer variety of things. It may be good but often you can get away with any upgrades at all. There is no special reward or satisfaction that you get from upgrading. Final verdict So, is this a good game? I will say yes, because I still enjoy it playing just like any other open world game.     Another Sony first party masterpiece and one of the finest examples of world building in gaming. Admittedly though, I can’t help but to be disappointed. I bought this game expecting a “woke” narrative and politically correct messaging, yet I’m not getting any hints of that at all. It’s just an incredible narrative with an awesome AF main character that totally lacks any wokeness. Frankly, I won’t stand for it. Still, the game gets a 10 for being a masterpiece. Please try much, much harder, devs, to inject at least a tiny amount of wokeness next time.     Everything about this sequel has been an upgrade from that first game, and I can’t stop playing it!!! … from the way you target enemies to the way you can travel from one place to the next!!.. I can’t get enough of this game!!

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
