    Playing on a PS4 and clocked 20 hours into the game. I've read some of the negative reviews and 99% is absolutely unfounded in my opinion. Really can't get my head around why these bad reviews are posted. Perhaps afraid of a strong female character?

    The graphics and movement of the characters, environment and effects are (even on PS4) breathtaking. The water quality, bubbles underwater,    Playing on a PS4 and clocked 20 hours into the game.     The graphics and movement of the characters, environment and effects are (even on PS4) breathtaking. The water quality, bubbles underwater, footprints in snow, wind effects, mountains, grass and so on just explode on my (4K QLED) TV. Can't wait to see it actually on a PS5.

    The story so far is compelling and divers, even more if you focus on side missions and tasks. Yes, there is some rinse & repeat in some missions "go there & get this", but the story surrounding it is different and divers. The main story is in my opinion believable and new.

    Regarding bugs, last minute appearing trees and other flaws, I must say that I have found none. Must say I normally am also not bothered by it in games, because it has also to do with the performance of your own hardware.

    The only thing that bothers me slightly are conversations containing "modern" words like "body bags", which I find hard to believe that is it something their world would be familiar with.

    Anyway, I foresee some long and fun playing with this game and certainly would recommend this game.    … Expand

    I wasn't even really interested in Elden Ring, but after seeing how awful Horizon is, i think i should support Elden Ring, because at least they have interesting world to explore. Can't say that about Horizon....

None of the bugs are immersion breaking, most not even noticeable.     I was a bit skeptical when I saw that they had completely revamped the combat and now had a escort mission vibe but after seeing the critic reviews I got this game finished it in 20+ hrs and I loved every minute of it.

    Best graphic ever seen. Main and secondary missions absolutely amazings. Excellent gameplay and combat system.

    Only a few bugs and lot of fog that I supposed it will be fixed soon...

    Saying Elden Ring is better when it's not even released and comparing HZFW to it just makes my blood boil. Not sure where this fanatism comes from but it's annoying...     HZFW is a graphical masterpiece...the amount of detail in every part of the game is astounding. Ray tracing, the marks in the sand you make and the difference in lighting when the sun reflects of the wet sand, sweat drops when it's hot, frozen armour when it's cold, grass moving around your feet when you move...just a glimpse of the vast detail and love that has gone into this game. Not to mention the insane quality of the textures and assets + insane loading speeds.

    Story is indeed long but it's a journey...if you don't have the patience just move on to something else. I enjoy the character development and the relationships and also by doing side quests you can influence the dialogue in the main story line which is cool.

    Combat as well is very good, a bit harder than the first iteration which is a good thing but there are a lot of quality of life improvements that just make sense.

    Combined with the adaptive triggers and sound design, this is by far one of the most visually stunning, complete and well built games of our time. Only game that could beat it is God of War.

    I rest my case and to all you trolls....just stop with the review bombing...We are a community and we should leave politics and anger aside and be more kind to each other.    … Expand

    The world of forbidden West is breathtaking In it's graphics, it's attention to details and it's density and excellent side quest missions. The gameplay is top notch with added improvements from the first game. The story is very good and continues the lore from the first game.

    I am absolutly enjoying this game on PS5. It’s the reason i bought a PS5 and a new tv. And boy does it look great! Awesome graphics and sounds and i love the design of the monster-machines and it’s stunning environments.

    Game is not perfect but I give it a 10 to even out the undeserved 1's .My score is a solid 9.0

    The visuals on the PS5 is amazing if you play on resolution mode. Really, mindblowing. Performance mode not so much unfortunately. There are also some lighting bugs here and there. But noting too distracting. The visuals are sooo nice THAT is what is distracting lol.     A brilliant sequel to a great first game. Although the genre may not appeal to everyone, and explanation ocasionally takes a bit too much of gameplay time, the game is fun, beautiful and well presented, yet may benefit from some future patches.

    Having only played half of zero dawn, I went into forbidden West as a completely new game and not counting the first one as only got half thru it. Graphically the game is fantastic, I'm enjoying the story and gameplay and I am having a blast with it. Definitely worth the money.

The level of writing is both high and consistent, akin to Witcher 3 quality (which to me set the bar pretty damn high). If you are looking for great narrative, believable fleshed out characters, and great world building, this is for you. Gameplay is a bit hard to master if you're new to the series but difficultyAbout 20+ hours into the game now and so far it's everything I had expected. The level of writing is both high and consistent, akin to Witcher 3 quality (which to me set the bar pretty damn high). If you are looking for great narrative, believable fleshed out characters, and great world building, this is for you. Gameplay is a bit hard to master if you're new to the series but difficulty and accessibility options can easily remedy it. As others mentioned, Aloy does backseat a lit but it doesn't bother me that much. Climbing is perfectible but is ok to me. Experienced very few bugs (a big frame rate drop that needed rebooting the game and one crash with my not so stable ps4 pro) Also hate to see this game review-bombed by idiots who think women have no facial hair, when the game oozes its production value in every shot. Overall, the is the AAA excellence any studio should aim for. Simply a great game.… Expand

    I didn't like this game for a few reasons. I didn't like the story and the gameplay was nothing new or special. I would much rather play Assassin's Creed or something. The game had some glitches and it actually crashed my PS4.

    It's an amazing game! You can feel all the love, all the time and effort they put on the game. It's not like another Assassin's Creed game, it's as great as God of War was!

    Been playing 10 hours now, i just want to give up, it's extremely boring and all the characters are so generic and ugly looking, it's worse than Mortal Kombat 11 character design. Days Gone 2 would have been so much better game. Sad.

The combat mode offers more variety and the skill tree upgrade brings more strategy to the choices you make. The world is massive and this game brings hours of enjoyable gameplay. Climbing feels more smooth and natural. All in all Guerrilla took previous feedback serious andIf you enjoyed the first Horizon then this game will blow your mind. Great story line and visual effects. The combat mode offers more variety and the skill tree upgrade brings more strategy to the choices you make. The world is massive and this game brings hours of enjoyable gameplay. Climbing feels more smooth and natural. All in all Guerrilla took previous feedback serious and incorporated many valuable changes in Forbidden West. Some bugs are encountered while playing but nothing which brings great impact on the gaming experience. I play the game on the PS4 and even here loading times are faster and graphics nonetheless stunning. Well done!… Expand

    Super buggy and not the funny kind. Crates got stuck in unreachable positions many times which the only solution to is restarting the game. And one time I was unable to use my weapons for a short time in a combat mission. Generally the game mechanics are buggy.

    Главная кор-механика все так же отлично работает, битвы с роботами это пожалуй самое лучшее, что есть в этой игре.
    Битвы с людьми прокачали, однако как по мне они остались всё такими же унылыми - враги тупорылые и сражаться с ними не интересно.
    Вместе со всем этим разрабы решили "апнуть" паркур, и с одной стороны сделали удобно - теперь можно срезать пути следования, а вот с другой стороны паркур безумно багованый, кривой, местами выглядит как нечто из игры 10-летней давности. Да вообще в игре довольно много багов и странных вещей, вроде затухающего на пару сек экрана при использовании костра - этот рудимент хотя бы в версии для пс5 убрали бы чтоли, выглядит тупо.
    Что касается побочек - к сожалению, по своей сути кроме постановки, а так же режиссуры с диалогами они не сильно прибавили в самой глубине механик, и сводятся к однообразной и тухлой ерунде "помоги очередному папуасу кого-то спасти/принести корень мандрагоры". Хотя, признаться, порой пытаются в оригинальность. Некоторые третьесортные активности занятные, но так же очень быстро надоедают.
    Отдельного упоминания стоит сюжет, с которого я сначала орал от восторга, а затем орал от кринжа, который выплеснули мне в лицо. Ко всему прочему, он очень долго раскачивается, очень уныло двигается вперед, середина игры сильно провисает и вызывает много зевоты. Ближе к концу приключения я дважды словил фейспалм от происходящего на экране и если это описать в парочке предложений человеку, который еще не дошел до этого момента - не представляю как скукурузит его лицо.
    Подытожив могу сказать, что вышло крайне иронично - сюжет и лор мне больше нравится в первой части, чем во второй.
    А вот постановка и режиссура явно выигрывает в продолжении. Ощущение, будто посмотрел очередную жвачку от марвел.
    Однако в общем и целом оба проекта плюс-минус одинаковые, и я сейчас в очередной раз недоумеваю с воплей прессы о том, что это РЕВОЛЮСЬЁН МАСС ЭФФЕКТ 2 ВАЙБ (хотя тут скорее стерильная и пресная эволюция того, что хорошо работало, плюс в кои-то веки отсутствие театра говорящих голов).
    Первая часть для меня на 7/10, или 3.5/5, кому как удобнее.
    Эта же часть при своих плюсах и минусах в сердечко так же не попала, всё тот же дженерик хорайзон на гигантской карте, с дрочкой побочек, собирательств, аванпостов и прочих пряток в траве.
    Игра мне в целом понравилась, но далеко без откровений, она просто хорошая.    … Expand

    Un gioco pressoché perfetto, il livello di immedesimazione è assurdo, non lo provavo dai tempi di skyrim. Senza parlare del livello grafico, bilanciamento armi ecc. Rispetto al primo capitolo hanno migliorato i punti deboli come la scalata un po’ più ardua e le secondarie varie e divertenti.

    The game is unplayable right now on some 4k displays with performance mode. Also a lot of popping and bugs, it is clearly unfinished at least the PS5 version. Despite this the game is good and would love to enjoy its mechanics once it is finished.

    Another reminder more of "Do not buy games on launch" i cant help with it..

    After playing Zero Dawn, I was expecting a great. Instead I got a buggy mess of a game with invisible enemies, button prompts being ignored, UI elements not showing. Sections that are designed to be a pure waste of time with the same slow animations happening on every re-do making repeating the same section to be a complete frustrating thing to do.

    Jogo muito bom, estou jogando e tem muita coisa se fazer, gráficos ótimos, recomendo fazer missões secundárias e explorar o mapa.
    História envolvente e jogabilidade muito boa.

    I loved the first one, but I love this one even more. I am now ten hours into the game and can't stop playing. No bugs found yet. People that are rating it a zero are not serious. It's a very well made game, not a cheap cash grabber like COD, Battlefield or FIFA. You can see that they really took care of the details. Highly recommended but I recommend to play part one first.

The story, characters and the overall look of it really made me fall in love with open-world single player genre of games together with GoD. So I was really looking forward to forbidden west and so far I’m enjoying the game a lot. As a person who really like to get to know the story and get to every corner of the world of horizon, there is a lot to attend. Just completed restoring GAIA yesterday and that’s just 1/3 of the map with a lot of stuff to still complete. When it comes to the game overall, I think they made a good improvement from the first game. On thing that caught my eye from the get go is the cinematics and dialog between the characters - the first game was good but I would say lagged a bit of nuance and emotion. In forbidden west it’s much more intense and full of emotions from there movement to there facial expression. The story so far is great and enjoyable, graphics is amazing and the game runs smoothly on my PS5 :) If I had some complaints to throw in here; I have stumbled upon a few cinematic glitches (nothing huge, but gave me a good laugh), one single notification bug in the collection part of the menu and I do have to say that the movement in tight spaces is a bit awkward sometimes. The same goes to some of the climbing movement, but again nothing really major. Overall I’m really positive about the game and it was a bit of fresh air from the terrible releases we have had so far this year (mainly looking at BF2042 and few other big titles). Big thump ups from one happy fan. Keep up the great work and I’m looking forward for what comes in the future of Horizon :)… Expand

    Best Playstation exclusive to date. A Must buy for any PS4/PS5 user. A Huge map with plenty of side missions and main missions to keep you happily playing for hours

    Jugad este juego, es simplemente épico. No solo el apartado gráfico es increible, la variedad de máquinas y la cantidad de cinemáticas es espectacular.

    Horizon Forbidden West is an awesome game! The graphics looks great on the PS5, the combat has definitely improved from its predecessor. Overall, Aloy journey was a lot of fun to explore!

    While i'm nowhere near done with the Game i can without a doubt give this game a 9/10. The Good:
    Horizon Forbidden West did something which most sequels fail trying. It took the first game as a base and improved upon the source material immensely. The story is engaging and if you liked the first one you will definetly love this one.     The sheer size of the map, the content, machines could be daunting at first but throughout 20+ hours i have never felt bored with the game. Even now I come across new things to do and explore.

    The not bad but not good:
    There are a few glitches and audio issues here and there. Pop in does occur from time to time but by no means is it something that ruins the experience.

    Those who gave this game a 10/10 either haven't played the first game or they have an agenda. Everything but the graphics are a downgrade from the first game. New mechanics are clunky, the user interface is ridiculous, the story is meh. They've tried to do too much and failed.

    Don't listen to fanboys review bombing the game because they couldn't afford a ps5. This game is absolutely magnificent, if you enjoyed zero dawn you won't be let down by forbidden west.

    Horizon Forbidden West suffers from serious technical problems: the game at 60 fps is simply ugly to see, with very annoying flickering and shimmering phenomena, which affect the visual rendering to the point of making it look like a game in sub hd. Moreover in 30 fps mode, the defects disappear but the frame rate is between 15 and 20 fps. Far from the promised "technical masterpiece".

    HZD but everything is better, captivating story, improved gameplay mechanics, mind blowing visuals and very fast loading times.
    This game is a perfect balance for players who seek good single player titles. Highly recommend

I have to say, it was from the start one straight line of events, it isnt like ZERO DAWN in FORBIDDEN WEST, you knew everything after you found Beta. I have to say i only had one thing that wasnt (fluid) working well, that was when there were 3 sandstorms or the city of Texas, because of the whole dripping water. If this happens, you can just restart the game, bang its fixed. I have to say, i read a lot of Megacritic 0 scores. I wasnt convinced that they even played the game, when they made a account just for this. I also read a lot of performance mode. I have to say i never used it. Because it always worked well. The last thing i have to say is thank you to everyone that found my review helpful… Expand

    dont listen to the Review Bombings. The Game feels like a very good Expansion to Part 1 with many upgrades in Battle Control, inGame options and many more. the story so far as i played is as good as in the First Release.

The main story is mind-blowing, the side content is excellent and compelling, the combat is per usual very engaging and a challenge, the world is drop dead gorgeous and teeming with life. There is just so much to see and do, it's quite overwhelming. GorillaGuerilla improved on HZD's weaknesses in most if not all areas, and doubled down on its strengths. The result is absolutely wonderful. The main story is mind-blowing, the side content is excellent and compelling, the combat is per usual very engaging and a challenge, the world is drop dead gorgeous and teeming with life. There is just so much to see and do, it's quite overwhelming. Gorilla truly took their time and poured their hearts into every little detail put into this. I am not the least bit surprised that a AAA PlayStation exclusive is being review bombed by window-licking Xbox degens who have been stuck in last place for the last 20 years and counting.     She was not a beauty in the first game but it was fine. Now they pushed this even further and Aloy looks plain masculine.
    While you can still play the game, this made it harder for me to emerge.
    The character is neither a man (on whom I could project myself) nor a girl (whose image I'd connect with because I find her attractive).
    So you'd enjoy the game only if you can ignore the main character part altogether.

    I think that the hype is what made this a disappointing experience for me. It is sad as I have been waiting for this to come out for so long.    … Expand

    - Waypoint update was a bit confusing.
    If they fix it, I'd recommend it. Right now, play the waiting game.

    Excellent game, nothing less than 10. We want more of the same. The visual quality is top, story is good as well. Very few bugs that have been mostly patch during the first week.

    Everything what I personaly didn’t like in HZD they changed, so it’s perfect game for my opinion. I’m facing only few bugs like flying body of killed enemies that I think it’s really unimportant.

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
