Always on connection even for single player. Outrageously priced cars in some cases, with continual reduction of race payouts, trying to force microtransactions. No real campaign/story mode. What a shame.

Say hello to another game that ruined its economy just after the launch/review window for the sake of microtransactions.

I used to love the series. It did some questionable choices for the sake of money as far back as GT5 (selling single use paints as DLC, for instance), but it was never egregious, certainly nothing like today's games can get. GT7, however, already started out as mean

It did some questionable choices for the sake of money as far back as GT5 (selling single use paints as DLC, for instance), but it was never egregious, certainly nothing like today's games can get. GT7, however, already started out as mean with its rewards (chiefly the roulette spins that just happen to give you the lowest reward 90% of the time), and with the latest patch, they turned the game into a total grindfest that also tries to tug on your FOMO strings (e.g. the system of invitations: brief windows to buy expensive cars you most likely can't afford)... unless you'd like to buy some in-game currency *nudge* *nudge*

I badly regret buying this game. I'd love a refund, but after two weeks of playing daily, I doubt I'd get it (PSN is notorious for being stingy with those at the best of times)

Always online? With this last “maintenance on the servers” it have been prove that is a very bad idea for a single player game. I hope they rethink about the pay for the races and stop being greedy with the micro transactions. The game is average good, but this issues make it far worse than other games.

Bought the game for almost 100 EUR and was excited for another GT as I played the series since part 1 on the PS1.
    But several things are frustrating:
    - always online game only: If the servers or you are offline you can basically do nothing - you have to unlock everything (also multiplayer) - you earn only a low amount of credits while most cars costs a **** of money - the ticket

    - the ticket roulette is basically a piss take. You get shown some cool stuff like cars and parts. But almost all the time you only get cash, and then only the lowest possible amount (5000 credits)
    - game tries to force you to buy credits with real money with tactics like FOMO (some tickets will grant you the ability to buy a very expensive car for a short amount of time)

    And also, GT7 looks like it's a 95% copy/clone of GT Sport.

It almost seems like Poliphony and Sony are trying to steal money from their loyal fanbase and try to milk their cows until they are empty.

With all the flaws and misconceptions currently in the game, I give a 3 of 10.

If things are changed for the better, then I am more than happy to change my review and score.

The people who worked on developing this game clearly poured their hearts and souls into it. It really shows. But all of that means NOTHING if every time I play the game I feel like I am playing a 'free to play' MOBILE GAME!!!

    Hello from Russia!

The pre-order of the limited edition was canceled, the game was removed from sale in Russia, but it's even better. The single player game requires a constant internet connection, microtransactions in the game are beyond good and evil, and the latest update has made it even harder to earn credits. I don't recommend this game to anyone with a bit of self-respect.

The licence races for rally cars is broken and is near impossible to acquire gold due to the fact the game equips rally cars with road tyres… which can’t be changed. This game has truly turned into a pay to complete game.

While the gameplay is everything you could want, the in-game currency system is heavily focused on microtransactions. The sneak they pulled is to give out review copies without it, hence no mentions in early reviews. They've even designed a few FOMO mechanics in the game to push micro transactions even furthur. BUT
After a solid start, while almost finishing the whole campaign (menu books), I realized that rolling starts from the back of the pack without any chance of qualifying aren't real racing like. The payouts for the races were ok offline, but after spending about 400k on a r32 skyline to be competitive in sport mode (online), and getting 18k as payout for first place I feel robbed.
They nerfed other races payouts in single player mode with the idea of pushing the player towards microtransactions... The option is always given, right under the payout screen.
Since yesterdays update I'm not able to access the game anymore, because you are forced to have internet and a connection to the servers all the time. Which is absolutely nuts and reminds me of the NEED FOR SPEED from 2015, and EA learned from that, apparently. PD is 7 years late like the internet explorer and forces it's players to be constantly connected to the playstation network and their servers. Very customer friendly.
If you're thinking of buying the game. Get the PCSX2 emulator and a copy of gran turismo 4, and you'll get a finished game which you're surely be happy with. And the crash mechanics are the same btw. For both titles. Or you can get your hands on Forza and not be forced to spend extra cash after buying the initial game for 80€...

Maybe they will fix it, but I'm really disappointed for a legacy title, especially from a Sony "first hand" developer. Shame on you PolyPHONY Digital. Shame on the gaming industry and their constant push for micro transactions.
THIS WEEK THEY PUT A LEGENDARY VEHICLE I THE LEGENDARY CARS MARKET, WHICH COSTS 18.5 MIL., THAT'S 185€ IN MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!

Indeed, they have largely reduced the credits earned per race and it becomes ridiculously long and time-consuming, needless to say also ultra boring to earn new credits to buy new cars. Other modes than the solo mode are not rewarding at all, and the utmost shame is that a lot of cars are very expensive, some of them costing the equivalent of +30h of farming in terrible conditions. There are +400 cars in the game, and what we want as players is to be able to earn new cars at a regular pace to enjoy them, and not to have to wait 5 years before buying thisbeloved and long-desired 12m Jaguar.

Polyphony created at the last minute before the release of the game extremely unaffordable MTs in prevision of such moves, and as of now you may spend 120e of real money just to buy ONE car if you cannot farm. This is absolutely unacceptable because we do not want to pay 1000 euros a full game, but not to be deceived by a game maker that already sells its game 80e. The endless maintenance today also proves that the compulsory online servers to play the solo was a bad idea and destroys the gaming experience for which we had very high expectations, considering the prestige of the games, and their past mistakes.

It seems that Kazunogain and his teams don't learn ! The game is failing on some parts but stays a pretty good game who deserve a grade between 7 and 9, it is too bad to waste such an experience with bad decisions and treacherous MTs.

If the policy regarding the reduction of credits flips back, I will reconsider my grade and will eventually regrade the game by a 7+.

We'll be a lot to do that, so please hear us ! It's a massive and collective complaint (just check Reddit, Twitter, GTPlanet).

I hope we'll be heard. Sincerely from France,

To make things worse the developers have patched the game and reduced the rewards for race wins to make it even harder! But no. There's nothing. I'm kind of in shock. I mean maybe it'll be added later but - doesn't that just scream half baked/unfinished?? Why are the licences for these races in the game but there are no races to compete in??? Then as I'm looking through all the cars to potentially buy (bearing in mind that I'm on a fairly limited budget despite completing the career) it's clear that there are almost no new cars after 2017 - isn't this crazy? I thought we'd have all manner of new cars and special editions etc, but the roster is incredibly plain/unexciting compared to even older forza games. What's the difference between this and GT sport for cars that you actually want to drive?

Then lastly, decreasing the already low race payouts via an update??? This is absolute madness, there are no big high paying races like there used to be on older games, and now you're reducing the amount of credits from already low amounts. Obviously trying to push people towards microtransactions. It's actually disgusting.
