    Disgusting scam of a game. $70 full priced game with absurdly priced microtransactions, and as if that wasn't enough, the recent update lowered payouts of races to furthur push their MTX BS. Sony's greed knows no end. Also online only DRM sucks.

    1. Always Online DRM for a Single Player game experience.
    2. Online Multiplayer aspect especially "Sport mode" is unbalance, BoP and Tuning are mixed, multiplayer should just be Delayed as a separated DLC.
    3. Recent updates (1.07 & 1.08) are really a Miss Step, economy Payouts getting slower because we've played some events "Over and Over" just to grind, Grind Turismo 7 lol.
    4. MICROTRANSACTION, GT7 encourage you to "Top Up" Small in game Credits with Real money.
    5. GRIND TURISMO, Poly or KAZ you're better than this.    … Expand

    I waited to buy a PS5 just to play Gran Turismo 7 only to be so disappointed in every possible way. One of the most disappointing games I have ever played. If I knew Gran Turismo 7 was going to be this bad, I would have never bought a PS5. What a waste.

    Worst game in the series, ps3 graphics, no damage physics, N64 looking NPC'S, the most greedy system with microtransactions, cut to half the racing rewards to buy cars making it more difficult and forcing to use real money.

    Bought this Thursday, came home poped it in, installing (for a looong time), finally booting up, servers offline, no worries I'll just do single player. BUT YOU CANT. Server maintenance has been going on for more than 24 h now! Once I will be able to play I will surely also find out about horrible microtransaction.

    I have been a day one fan. This is my favourite series of all time. I am deeply hurt and angry by the corporate greed behind the micro transactions. I bought a ps5 for this game specifically and I will not be made to buy credits after buying the 25th anniversary edition. This is rediculous.     Oh boy am I happy that I paid 109€ for this scam of game. It is still bugged, not all ps5 to ps4 trophies are working. Much less content than than older ones in the serie. Always online makes my disc version obsolete someday and greedy microtransactions with cut rewards galore. You can shove it.

    The individual cost of many of the cars is now in the HUNDREDS of real-life dollars.
    If you choose to only earn credits in-game, expect to have to complete hundreds of races over and over in order to earn enough to buy just ONE of those cars.
    And that was BEFORE their prize nerfs. Now it's even worse with update 1.08!!

    Always online DRM also means no game preservation 20 years down the line. We need Polyphony to promise an off line mode once the servers shut down.
    The driving physics when the car jumps in off road races are also very unrealistic and the game preventing cars from rolling over also adds to the sense of unrealism.    … Expand

    On-line requirement for single player mode and the insane push towards micro transactions completely destroys this game, no matter how pretty it is. It has, to my knowledge, the worst in-game economy there ever was, and that's in a game focused on the off-line single player campaign, and sold at a full retail price. Disgusting.

Moreover, the single-player experience lacks depth and so what you're left with, actually, is an allbeit very nice: playable demo of what GT 7 should have been.

    Racing a Rally makes you Jump like 6m height, Car will land on nose, turnaround, spin like an idiot, let you loose 1-5 places.

    I opened 23 4-Star Roulettes and earned 19 times 5.000cr.

    At launch, this game was a 9/10. After the latest update, it's a 0/10.

    No full-priced single player video game should *ever* have micro/macro transactions or any sort of always-online requirement that prevents the player from accessing any single-player elements.

    From the cat-and-mouse rolling starts on every single race to rigged roulette tickets to the cars that cost more than the price of the game that you've already paid full price for (and require insane amounts of time to grind for, which they've just made even harder), this game is a soulless cash grab. The always online requirement is just the cherry on top.

    This game is genuinely the biggest disappointment I’ve ever experienced in my 25 years of playing games. Genuinely deflated and frustrated at #GranTurismo  #GT7  now. The amount of grind is obnoxious at best. The choice of cars is abysmal. No proper single player campaign to speak of. The whole microtransaction fiasco is abhorrent. I spent £90 on a game that feels like a tech demo.

    The    This game is genuinely the biggest disappointment I’ve ever experienced in my 25 years of playing games. Genuinely deflated and frustrated at #GranTurismo  #GT7  now. The amount of grind is obnoxious at best. The choice of cars is abysmal. No proper single player campaign to speak of. The whole microtransaction fiasco is abhorrent. I spent £90 on a game that feels like a tech demo.

    The whole experience is just hollow. Compared to past games, it’s painful to play. Compared to other similar games, it just doesn’t cut it. Take the car selection for example - it feels like 95% of the cars you expect to see are missing! Surely a developer like #PolyphonyDigital has the budget to properly license current car models from the big manufacturers that are relevant? Feels like the included cars are just recycled from older titles. And why can’t you sell cars?! That’s just poor. All to earn money from the players. Shoddy.

    Don’t even get me started on the pathetic excuse for multiplayer! How can a game that’s been in development for so long have such a poor multiplayer experience?! It’s like an early access title! I want my money back.    … Expand

    I feel that this game intentionally misled consumers by stripping the game of most microtransactions and nerfed rewards for in-game play until AFTER the reviews were out from major outlets like IGN and GameSpot. Once they obtained favorable reviews, they cranked down the in-game rewards to crank up the feeling that you need to spend on microtransactions. Now I read about the introduction of micro transactions, which ruins the whole fun of grinding races to buy better and better cars. So disappointing from what looked like to be the pinnacle of sim racing.

Allowing SONY and Polyphony to get away with what they are attempting, is the gaming world's definition of "Stockholm Syndrome": identifying with your captors. Talk about exploiting your fans. Here's my list of reasons for a low rating of a $70, AAA title. 1. An unbelievably imbalanced micro transaction scheme. They were deceitful in the beginning. And after release, unleashed their greedy wrath on their massively loyal player base. Nothing says "f*** you" to your loyal fans more than how Sony and Polyphony have handled this. 2. Are you a completionist? Not in GT7 you are not! If you bought every car in GT7 via micro transaction credits, you would pay thousands! Over $2,000 to be exact. 3. Can't afford that real world money to buy your favorite car? Then you can grind away by spending days of your time just to buy ONE car! The credit payout system is so nurfed that it is nearly impossible for hard-core gamers to grind their way to completion status. I never use micro-transactions. I usually laugh at people who do. But, to each their own. However, Sony and Polyphany decided to recently nurf their already incredibly imbalanced credit payouts, which will now take almost twice as long to progress by grinding. But let's be real here. Very few people are going to spend the thousands of hours it would take to truly complete this game if they want to avoid spending, you guessed it, thousands of dollars! 4. $70 should buy you a AAA title, right? Then shouldn't you expect that the music be mostly original and licensed? With GT7 you get MANY royalty free classical music pieces to listen to, all so SONY and Polyphony can save money on not purchasing licenses to pay for better music. It's so obvious that these were all corporate decisions to maximize gains by being as cheep as possible with the ambiance of the game, while really sticking it to their fans with the micro transactions. 5. Sony and Polyphonies greed is so obvious that it doesn't take a genius to understand why they have made the game online only, when the vast magority of people's time will be spent playing the single player mode. It's all about those micro transactions! How pathetic. This game is a brick after the next generation comes. Regardless how fun this game is when you're actually playing it (and it is fun); by principle, no one should buy it. Doing so is just enabling an abusive relationship to continue on and allowing these tasteless tactics of greed and exploitation to continue.… Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]
