    Wow, just wow. This is a full price game of 80$ and therefore shouldn't have ridiculously priced microtransactions and associated grinds or simply be F2P. Losing my faith in Sony.

    It wasn't enough just for the game to be expensive, but to have micro transactions to earn more, it's ridiculous! A brutal affront to the consumers of this Sony console. Honestly, I think about selling all my games and my PS5 and not participating in this Sony scam anymore, which aims to make a butcher's profit over consumer cattle. Depressing.

    Pay to win casino game. Copy GT Sport, paste as GT 7. There is nothing new, far away from sim, it's really easy arcade racing, but you are going to drive **** slow cars for a long time, until you can purchase one-two fast cars... or you can purchase them for real money, that's the big idea here.

    Trash, Thieves and robbery. Pure fraud.You cannot play the game. 10th day today no servers, nothing, no gameplay. Limit how much credit you can earn. After that they demand you to pay lots of money to use even one car. This is robbery in makiavelian level.

    Absolutely insulting micro transactions. $40 for a car. The devs also decreased the amount of in game currency you get so you have to grind 20 hours for one car now so you are forced to pay $40 if you want a car. This is outrageous.

    Y es decepcionante ver a Polyphony digital y PlayStation studios permitir esto ,cuando viendo el pasado de gran turismo podemos ver una involución. No pido que sea el mejor juego del mundo ,pero la conexión permanente parece un insulto y una desconfianza total hacia los jugadores y una privacion de los derechos de los jugadores sobre su propiedad. Me parece una falta de respeto total que en la actualización 1.07 hayan nerfeado las carreras para obligar a pasar por caja y gastarnos casi 40 € euros por coche es una total vergüenza y mi nota será las más baja y espero que Polyphony digital piense y recapacite y elimine la conexiones permanente por que sino.... posdata no soy un fanboy de xbox

    Después de la actualización 1.11 pero la conexión permanente sigue siendo un lastre innecesario y por favor pido que vuelva el offline como siempre ha estado en gt .

Stiff controlls and game lacks gameplay and thats why it floods you with pointless infos about cars unrelated to gameplay. The servers are still down. You spended 80 dollars, which is A LOT and yet after 8 continous days, you cannot play the game. Sony froze the game to avoid more persecutions from interpoll. On top of that EU has started imposing sanctions on them and lots of asian countries are already protesting using their customer unities.     You think youll go to xbox but xbox is even worse with rrod, no games, services, same as sony policies. Then you think youll go to nintendo. Nintendo cant provide you AAA games of raw power and awesome gameplay. Yoshi, Mario, kid games, bright colors, obsolete graphics, problematic controls, high prices. So no to nintendo. Then you think youll go to PC! Pc has...the worst ratio of cost-performance. You cant bother with it. Its not worthy.And steam follows same policies of sony and microsoft. So no.

I don't understand why GT can't put effort into the sounds of the vehicle. I don't give a F about your music crap.     This game is just a mistake, i don't really know were to start, incredibly boring, graphics in third person are simply horrible, if you want a decent car prepare to play for a long long time or prepare to pay a lot of money.

    OK let me start by saying I'm a massive gran turismo fan, still remember being in absolute awe of the PlayStation one game all those years ago.

    Firstly the graphics are truly amazing along with the sound aswell, be in no doubt this is the closest you will get to driving these cars and tracks without actually doing it for real. The replays are just unbelievable could easily be a video of    OK let me start by saying I'm a massive gran turismo fan, still remember being in absolute awe of the PlayStation one game all those years ago.

    Firstly the graphics are truly amazing along with the sound aswell, be in no doubt this is the closest you will get to driving these cars and tracks without actually doing it for real.

    The replays are just unbelievable could easily be a video of the real thing.

    The thing that let's it down is just being so boring, you seem to be tied to having to collect menus, by doing boring races. Without doing menus you can't really progress, just let me race in some decent races, you can't even buy a new car for first 1 hour or 2

    The worst part is the grinding for money, you earn very little, oh and guess what of course you can buy in game money with real money, so obviously Sony want you to just spend even more money bypassing all the grinding.

However this is all pointless given an extremely short career mode and of the most obvious cash grabs with their micro transactions made so much worse after they nerfed payouts for single-player races. GT was always a grind but it was never this bad. It feelsWas a bug Gran Turismo fan. I’ve played this game since GT1 on PS1. Yes the driving physics are superb, yes the cars are gorgeous. However this is all pointless given an extremely short career mode and of the most obvious cash grabs with their micro transactions made so much worse after they nerfed payouts for single-player races. GT was always a grind but it was never this bad. It feels like it was intentionally left half-finished so you would be forced spend more of your hard earned money to buy fake money to get a virtual car you might not even see in real life.

    Shame on you Polyphony Digital. I’m shelving my copy until you fix this mess.

    Edit: now that some necessary changes were made and additional content was added I’m amending my score. Good on PD for listening to the consumer. It’s not perfect but it’s a lot better than the state it was released in.    … Expand

It's a cash grab with arbitrary online requirements that honestly adds nothing of value to the experience. You can still go back and play Gran Turismo 1 if you feel so inclined, the same cannot be said of this gameIt's a pretty game, visually. Unfortunately this is Gran Turismo with its heart and soul torn out and every scum-laden modern stain that afflicts gaming thrown in to replace it. It's a cash grab with arbitrary online requirements that honestly adds nothing of value to the experience.     If you can then just play Forza Horizon 5. It is so much better in every aspect without ridiculous microtransactions. Also, they lied about everything. No real solo carrier mode. Real grid line etc. No AI. Opponents are moving on the rail. It is literally only a DLC for GT SPort but worse regarding online aspects.

    Latest patch addendum: Dropped my rating to a 1. All the new races are just more impractical challenges that belong in the mission section. It's not fun driving a car that can't meet the pace of the slowest computer cars all of the time. Yeah, the rewards are good, but I would have been happier with a lower reward and a more practical racing experience.

    Long Version:

    They didn't make a race game, they made a puzzle game (talking single-player here). Most races require you to find very specific cars, tunes/setups for a consistent winning strategy. The PP requirement doesn't apply to the computer (and the computer doesn't have the same handling conditions you do). The strategy you need to use to win is only good for that race because that's how it was developed. Really stupid stuff like reloading races for wet conditions, maxing HP and wall riding, no pit stop set ups, abusing grid starts and defending 10 laps...etc. Not exploits, these are developed strategies for certain races.

    I also waste tons of hours tuning cars with no mechanical background at all. Gear timing shouldn't be in a ps5 game - go work for another sim developer if that's the kind of game you want to make. No reason the computer couldn't auto-calculate a gear timing ratio for you - but that would take actual development work, ingenuity, and you'd have to take advantage of being a video game instead of pretending you're a simulator.

    The only endurance races - which are my favorite part because they really show off what is best about the game and lock me in the zone, are few and only found in the missions so you only get rewarded for your first win. They are going to add more endurance... to missions.

    I wasn't one of the players grinding a single lap rally race - but the fact that so many people went ballistic ought to be a sign of how fun the game is. If there was anything of redeeming value outside of the excitement of buying and trying out a new car, than the user score wouldn't have dropped so much. The game just isn't fun.    … Expand

    When it comes to graphics, I am not some nerd that takes out my telescope and magnifying glass to analyze the graphics. In my opinion, the graphics look only slightly better than Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo. That 2016 rally game was accused by many to have trash graphics. So by that logic, the graphics in this game are trash too... no? Either way, the graphics are outdated and does not look like a next-gen AAA game worth $70. It is embarrassing that a $60 open world racer like Forza Horizon 5 has better graphics than a circuit racer for $70. The driving physics are horrible. Every car feels like it has a refrigerator on top of the car. The cars handle even worse than it does in real life. This is a video game for goodness sake. If anything, cars should handle better in a game. If you want a game with driving physics closer to real-life, take a look at Project Cars 2 or Assetto Corsa. The developers were too cheap and lazy to make the cars handle realistically, so they just made them heavy to give players the illusion that the driving is realistic.

    Most of the content in this game is online. So once the developers decide to switch off the servers, this game will basically become a demo. Imagine paying $70 for a demo. This outrageous greed makes EA look like saints in comparison. At least I can play their campaigns offline for basically any of their games that have a singleplayer campaign.     Can't give this more than a 5. Graphics are amazing and gameplay is great, cars feel amazing to drive.
    BUT, always online for a SP focused game is a really bad decision. Also, really low payouts on races forcing people on microtransactions is awful considering this is a 70$ game, not a F2P.

    EDITED REVIEW: Payouts are now starting to be back where they should be. So polyphony is listening and finally reacting in the right direction.

    The always online aspect is a negative but other than that this is a top tier Gran turismo.

It's baffling how they don't just follow the successful formula of previous games before GT Sport. This whole new direction with focus on artwork and limited content is regression, not progress.     Really enjoyed it at the start - was def going to attempt a platinum run until they decided they werent making enough money so MICRO TRANSACTIONS was decided, not just a bit but massively increase.
    In addition to this, everyone is overlooking the massive error with the Licence Test tyres - I couldnt complete those tasks at all, for days I struggled. It was their error!!

Greed has killed this game, some of the shadiest tactics I've seen in a game so far and it's sad because I do enjoy racing in the game. But the grind is disgusting. I should've waited to buy so I could've gave my money to a game that isn't one big money grab. Also, the roulettes are a JOKE.

They ruined car collecting by increasing the real world price of cars from a maximum of $3 to a potential maximum of $40. Clear that every decision they've taken post-launch has been about monetization. Even after they fix the marketplace there's a massive problem with a i and slipstreaming if you don't understand what I'm talkin about try a custom one lap race at the Daytona tri-oval you will get dropped very fast because a i starts off with slipstream for custom races and the user does not this is broken… Expand

    It's an amazing game if you love, ok graphics+pay to win level microtransactions+awful soundtracks+tedious career mode+invitations to buy cars that it will take you dozens of hours grinding to purchase before the invitation expires. I think this is the Darksouls of racing games great for people who enjoy grinding the exact same tedious things over and over until any sane person would walk away.

He halved the prize money on those races, leaving me to either A) pay more money for a game I already spent a lot on, or B) do literally twice as many of the “grind” races to unlock what I need for the fun races. Dumb. The roulette spins are a big enough waste of time I think I’ll just let them expire rather than waste time pushing “X” 15 times in their menu. Every. Single. Time. I’ll either win the smallest (COMICALLY SMALL) monetary prize, or I’ll win a random part for a vehicle I’ll never, ever be able to afford to purchase.     Another game ruined by microtransactions and the way it lures gamers to pay for cars, upgrades, etc. The way it was done after release was particulary infuriating. I'm happy to see the community reacting here at metacritic and I hope this gets consequences for Polyphony in the only way they care about, their wallet.     It's not good, the mircotransactions are too much. I believe with the fastest money method you are stuck at MAYBE 1 million an hour but I'd say 800k an hour is more common for most of the people playing the game. A part of the game is to collect cars. Well when cars are 18 million+ and some can only be purchased within a  limited time, what do you do? Buy 2 million in game currency forIt's not good, the mircotransactions are too much.     What was once the greatest racing game has now become yet another scummy parasitic money grabbing farce. Kids pay 70 GBP for a game which in its self a joke when you look at Forza and game pass and then make cars so expensive almost forcing people to pay up to 150 GBP for some rare cars they really want.     Just bought the game, wanted to play local multiplayer, yet after 30 minutes and long AF intro i am still in some manuals and explanations and can't even play the damn game, wtf?!
    Always connected, servers down, in-game purchases and overpriced in-game purchases, incredubly slow progression, looks worse than some other much older racing games = 0 Sadly..

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
