    On the other hand, with the 1.08 Yamauchi has been removed or “parched” the races who they have big recompenses. 95k to 45k, with that downgrade the cars has been increased his price.

Over all the game play is fun, until you finish the story and have to play hours and hours to save up money to buy new cars, or you know, you could always spend money to buy virtual cars in a game you already paid for.… Expand

The game itself is little more than a single player update to the previousl GT Sport. The car list is very similar, with most cars even appearing in exactly the same livery. The used car lot was their big addition. Did I mention single player? Yeah, because of it's micro transactions, the game, despite being 90% single player, requires a constant connection to the server. Kaz states this is "to avoid cheating". The only thing Kaz Yamauchi is afraid of is being cheated out of his micro transactions.… Expand

    I have loved Gran Turismo since GT2. GT4 is my bread and butter and I purchased a PS3, so I could play GT5 and GT6.

    I purchased a friend's PS4 in order to play GT7 as soon as possible. I wasn't blown away by the different things they've added like the cafe menu books and lack of different racing series. The server was down for more than 24-hours within the first few weeks for a game    I have loved Gran Turismo since GT2. GT4 is my bread and butter and I purchased a PS3, so I could play GT5 and GT6.

    I purchased a friend's PS4 in order to play GT7 as soon as possible. I wasn't blown away by the different things they've added like the cafe menu books and lack of different racing series. The server was down for more than 24-hours within the first few weeks for a game that I paid almost 24-hours and now the reward credits are nerfed. The reward tickets are weighted toward the lower level prizes and microtransactions are pushed in that cars are outrageously expensive and reward credits are low.

    Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a huge GT fanboy. Not so anymore.

    Sony/Polyphony, let us say that you had a kid that loved racing games and that you made racing games. They come to you saying they need to use more of their own money to get a car they want and you are telling them that it's too bad and they should pay the money.

    I usually don’t write reviews for games, but I feel like I have to with this game. I’ve played Gran Turismo 7 for the past two weeks now and I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly. It looks stunning and the gameplay is great. The racing is feels exciting, realistic, and very well made. However, after Polyphony Digital released the 1.08 patch over this weekend, I feel like most of my interest in thisI usually don’t write reviews for games, but I feel like I have to with this game. I’ve played Gran Turismo 7 for the past two weeks now and I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly. It looks stunning and the gameplay is great. The racing is feels exciting, realistic, and very well made. However, after Polyphony Digital released the 1.08 patch over this weekend, I feel like most of my interest in this game has faded away.

    Now, the servers being down and the game not really being playable offline is something I can live with. It’s a flaw for sure, but not a big one if you ask me. The changes with the economy and the credit pay-outs are what feels like a real slap in the face to me. For the total 18 race events, only 2 received a credit-buff. The rest have been nerfed so much that the general time it takes to make credits in this game has been doubled, at least…

    It’s painfully obvious that this has been done in an attempt to make it even harder for players to collect cars and push them towards the microtransactions. It’s such a shame that it all developed into this. The 1.08 patch truly cripples the entire game and the experience that it offers, or should I say “offered”. I find it funny that this happens now, two weeks after the launch when all of the official reviews are already out.    … Expand

    BUT some days after the release I found out that this game requires always online connection so you have to buy that **** ps plus just to enjoy this game

    Die Grafik haut mich nicht um. Kann man nur als enttäuscht betrachten. Kann man auch bei GT Sport bleiben. Voll im ernst. Habe nach fast 14 Tagen keine Lust mehr auf das Spiel und noch keine 2 Stunden Spielzeit. Habe auch nicht das Gefühl was zu verpassen. Kann man darauf verzichten. Eine Riesen Hype um nichts.

    Was mich richtig ärgert, habe das Spiel als Download aus dem Store gekauft und kann es somit weder zurück geben noch verkaufen .....

    Malgré qu'il soit qu'une grosse maj de GT Sport, il reste très plaisant à jouer. Les permis, missions et gt café sont sympa à réaliser bien que le contenu solo reste très pauvre à l'heure actuelle. La conduite est très fun et le changement de dénivelé offre de bonne sensation.

    La ou les choses se compliqué c'est quand on se décide de se faire un garage garnis de nos véhicule préféré. Pour    Malgré qu'il soit qu'une grosse maj de GT Sport, il reste très plaisant à jouer. Les permis, missions et gt café sont sympa à réaliser bien que le contenu solo reste très pauvre à l'heure actuelle. La conduite est très fun et le changement de dénivelé offre de bonne sensation.

    La ou les choses se compliqué c'est quand on se décide de se faire un garage garnis de nos véhicule préféré. Pour s'offrir les quelques 400 véhicules (- la petite centaine offerte avec les différentes activités du mode solo), il ne faudra "que" quelques centaines voir milliers d'heures de jeu (pour 1 demi million/heure avec une très bonne optimisation du temps + bonus "course parfaite" ou alors "que" 2 000€ (a 20€ pour 2M Cr) pour se les offrir via micro transaction. A savoir un peut moins de 200M Cr pour s'offrir tous les véhicules. A condition aussi d'avoir l'argent nécessaire lorsqu'elles apparaissent dans le garage occasion ou qu'on obtiennent l'invitation (à durée limitée afin encore une fois de forcer la main).

    Alors oui ce jeu perdurera dans le temps et donc il faut trouver un juste equilibre pour eviter de tout obtenir en 2 minute. Mais il y a une difference plutot notable entre tout obtenir en 2 minutes et 2 ans (ou alors avec un petit coup de pouce avec la CB)... Mais encore faut il que des joueurs soit encore sur ce jeu au vue de l'évolution qui est visiblement souhaité pour ce dernier.

    Gran Turismo 7 est un très bon jeu qui ne demande qua s'étoffer mais malheureusement pourrait sombrer à cause de son modèle économique qui est, en restant polis, fortement discutable.    … Expand

    Being generous because I loved the quality of the gameplay / graphics / sound. Microtransactions were already bad enough before they nerfed the prize money. My friend bought the game during maintenance and still hasn't played it get due to that downtime too. He deleted it after reading about it.

    I loved this game when I bought it, but the most recent update has made it so that I potentially have to pay out of my own pocket hundreds of dollars to enjoy the higher end cars. This is unacceptable and is a major disappointment. I don’t want to play anymore due to the greed of the developers and I feel like the spirit of the game is corrupted by their selfishness.     To say this is a disappoint would be an understatement. I paid full paid price DRM prevents me from accessing the game for hours on end because of "server maintenance". Game progression has now been handicapped via a patch to sell more DLC.

    I know for most people big download files not a problem, but for me is. One of the mane reasons why I'm with PlayStation because if I buy game on disk on Xbox in most cases I still have to downloaded it from cloud where ps4 /5 used to be most of game data in disk but that is changing... I bought gt7 for Ps5 put it in and was shocked 97gb to be Dowland? It took me 2 days (yeah that's rightI know for most people big download files not a problem, but for me is. Play is good but I finished the game in a matter of 2 1/2 days. I've been playing since the 1st GT and I was hoping that I would have a better experience than GT Sport but I ki d wish I had waited past pre launch and got some feed back first.     TL;DR: GT7 was close to being good but payout cuts at the time of reviewing have turned the game into part time job where you have to live in your mom’s house or have no life to enjoy it as the process of grinding is more maddening than normal. Also DRM severely limits lifespan of game and if servers go down then you’re “single player experience” is severely crippled.

    **** game with online only even for Singleplayer. Lost progress multiple times in the evenings when game tried to save but couldn't contact servers. Same class of **** is when they kill the game cause their servers are offline for a extended timeframe - **** PLAYERS! MICROTRANSANCTIONS FTW!!!

    Game is great fun to play...when you actually can play it. Plagued with an abundance of server and update issues as well as a constant bombardment of microtransactions, Polyphony Digital have almost singlehandedly killed one of the best releases they have put out since the PS2 era of Gran Turismo games. This also doesn't include the fact you cannot sell cars you bought or earned throughGame is great fun to play...when you actually can play it. Plagued with an abundance of server and update issues as well as a constant bombardment of microtransactions, Polyphony Digital have almost singlehandedly killed one of the best releases they have put out since the PS2 era of Gran Turismo games. This also doesn't include the fact you cannot sell cars you bought or earned through races or roulette spins, or that they continue to outright discourage players from grinding for credits as they continuously decrease the amount of credits earned from races.
    Currently as it stands, I cannot recommend buying this game unless you enjoy supporting a developer and publisher who are more interested in their profit margins than they are in actually creating a game that is both fun to play and engaging for the player to continue playing over many years to come.

    I've waited for a good GT to come out since GT3. GT7 game plays like a beta version. There is no offline mode and there are constant problems with the game. Several classes of cars do not even have races. The cafe quests are short-lived. You can't sell extra cars. Credit payout for races is wildly low. It's as if paying $70 for a game is insufficient and you must pay $200 to buyI've waited for a good GT to come out since GT3. GT7 game plays like a beta version. There is no offline mode and there are constant problems with the game. Several classes of cars do not even have races. The cafe quests are short-lived. You can't sell extra cars. Credit payout for races is wildly low. It's as if paying $70 for a game is insufficient and you must pay $200 to buy enough credits to avoid 70+ hours of grinding. I have a few other quibbles with some dynamics in cars. For example, the new civic type r understeers like a Camry and won't rotate but the GTI/Scirocco are great. On a real road course, the type R handles great with no modifications required. The graphics are excellent for the cars and tracks. The people and other aspects are terrifying afterthoughts. The whole thing just feels half baked. Avoid!.… Expand

    Unplayable mess with the latest update. The always online single player mode was poorly implemented. I know it’s a driving simulator but cars are exorbitantly priced. Do not buy the SRT Tomahawk X VGT, it can’t be used for any races to recoup the cost.

    Honestly just buy GT6, you might not be able to go online anymore but it's a better game in basically every way. Polyphony Digital is a scummy company, I can't believe this is £70 and feels like a freemium game, Microtransactions shouldn't be in this game and the scummy tactics of nerfing the race payouts is despicable. Why during maintenance my symphony records were not saved? €99 for the 25th anniversary version, it's expensive to play with micro transactions.     I'm done defending this game, after all that's happened the last few days with the in game prize money being cut to nearly half and the massive server outage for over 24 hours, seeing that Mclaren F1 pop up in the legends dealer for 18.5mil was the straw that broke the camels back. PS4 Pro has too much pop in of trackside objects, textures and shadows at a disappointingly short distance. Sometimes horrible jerky transitions in weather. Frame rate drops.     Race payouts dramatically decrease after completing the café menu, paying you peanuts for hours of racing, and after one of the game updates payouts have been further decreased, the massive prices of upgrade parts further exacerbate this problem. You'll barely be able to afford upgrading and maintaining your current cars let alone buy any new ones. That "top up your credits" button placed right next to your credit balance, which lets you buy in-game credits with your real money, seems to be the only way to buy expensive cars, at any reasonable pace. Then there are the most rare and expensive cars, some which require a rare invite that can only be acquired through a "roulette ticket" under very small odds, which after a certain date will no longer be purchasable until you manage to find another invite. The other type of rare cars are placed in the legend car dealership, only available for a limited time and then are no longer purchasable until they appear in the dealership again, when that may happen is anyone's guess.

    The developers, Polyphony Digital, state that the high prices of cars were designed to reflect their real life counterparts, and that the low payouts for races were intended to keep the player from restarting the same race over and over and ensure they play a variety of races, and that further means of earning credits in the game will be introduced in later updates.
    Their claim of designing for authenticity doesn't seem to hold up when we look at different parts of the game. For example, the nitrous upgrade part alone costs a whopping 100,000 credits. Twice the price of a Chevrolet Corvette C7. A set of tires set you back over 20,000 credits. These do not reflect their real life counterparts at all. The credit balance has a cap of 20,000,000 credits. Which means you cannot have a credit balance of more than 20 million. This also does not reflect real life economics. Neither does the fact that winning the world championship earn you as much as a minimum wage job. The only pattern that seems to exist is that making money and buying cars is being made as hard and unreasonable as possible through playing the game, regardless of whether it is realistic or not. It's hard not to see that this is all pushing towards making players use their wallets because they're tired of waiting to buy their favorite cars.

    The game is only-online, meaning you can only access the large majority of this game if you are connected to the servers. Almost all game modes are locked if you are offline or whenever the servers are down, even though many of this games features are single player based. This is most likely a drastic decision made because the developers want to monitor the player's credit balance and ensure that cheaters don't ruin their microtransactions cashflow.

    There's an excellent game buried in here. Under all the predatory microtransaction tactics, I honestly think this could be an amazing game. It's such a shame that the developers/publishers have marred it with unnecessary tactics that really spoil the fun. I wish and hope that Polyphony Digital listens to their customers and reconsiders and make this game fun, playable offfline, and the grind for credits more reasonable.    … Expand

    I have purchased virtually every Gran Tourismo game since the original came out back in the 90s, always had fun and enjoyed them all. This version is barely an upgrade on GT Sport, has almost no off-line content and has micro transactions. Extremely disappointing.

The cars are detailed and tuning them can turn a mundane car into a gem. I love taking pictures in game too, the amount of control you have for rendered screenshots is outstanding and its just a pleasure. None of that matters. This is completely unacceptable and a huge slap in the face for GT fans and casual gamers who have lives outside of the game and just want to get on and hop into a race. Not only did they reduce the rewards, but the roulette ticket system was already cheap and rigged, and car invitations are very time-sensitive which can create FOMO. Polyphony won't admit it, as we've already seen in Kaz's weak *** apology, but the fact is they are just another GREEDY CORPORATION looking to MAXIMIZE PROFITS by PUSHING MICROTRANSACTIONS that aren't even worth much at all. Thanks capitalism!

    Another huge issue with this game is that it is almost 100% unplayable offline. You cannot advance in story mode or do any missions or license tests which is absolutely ridiculous, because most of the modes in this game are NOT online multiplayer. Not only is this a problem when players want to play during maintenance, but this is another huge slap in the face to players who may not have or lose access to an internet connection.

    Polyphony Digital you have embarrassed yourselves by going against everything we thought you believed in. You wanted to bring new players into the GT series and make it fun and accessible for everyone, yet your product shows that you have done the exact opposite. You never really cared about the players. You only care about profits. Even though the graphics and physics in this game are amazing, you have done everything to push old and new players away, making this game completely unplayable. We will not accept your BS and will continue to fight for what is right for the community.

    Good game with forced online connection, so that I will not be able to play the game anymore, when the servers are down. A game, that I bought, but that is not mine. This was the last time, that you frauded me SONY!

    Game really doesn't bring anything new to the racing genre and is more or less same as the last one. Toyota Supra costs as much real money as BeamNG. Terrible deal

    Game play to short. After finishing menu books there is no challenge. Achieving legendery cars is a boring proces due to pay out rates and no significant challenges. Only way is to follow mtx path to purchase cars... (one legendary car is approx usd 40 via mtx)

    Story is wayyyy too short and grinding for 10 laps for 50k is absolute rubbish when the car you want is three million! 90 quid for the deluxe paid and now I have to pay 30 quid to get 4 million credits to buy a car I can't use if the servers go down. Hang your heads in shame PD you're scumbags!

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
