Always on is really **** when the servers are down…
Also the micro transactions are really a greedy move.
It’s ok for polyphony to earn money, but not on that way…kinda sad that all the good studios/publishers are going to the evil side.

Lack of new content compared to GT sport. Terrible progression sorry mode (cafe). In game currency is atrocious. Roulette gives you parts for cars you can’t afford or don’t own. Menus continue to be over complicated.

So many negative points I can bring up but I honestly haven't got the time or heart to bring up each negative point

I have been a fan of the GT series for 25 years but if they don't fix this I will be gone

You have to progress the game in a very precise order, also forced to go in and out of coffee shop, go to race, check restrictions, get back to garage and tunning to prep the car, get back to race place, annoying 10 screens you have to go back and forward

Cars are old, you don't get basically any new iteration of any brand, 99% are the cars from the 9 years old GT6 I didn't even know

I didn't even know until today that I have to play 30.000 races to get all the cars and the list is mainly sad. 300 cars when you used to have 1000... Micro transactions filled game in order to complete it

You can't play single mode when servers are offline

Graphics and performance are not better on ps5 vs a gt sport ps4. This is not by any chance a next gen game

Company didn't respond at all in an ongoing 26 hours downtime with any update, showing how much they care about you, the customer A sad shadow of what the game was, and at 90 euro, currently not worth even 2 euros. The most expensive game in the history is the worst to play

If you also want to play split-screen forget about it. It is even worst than GT Sport. The second player cannot change any assists, change any controller and the car is always slower even when you put all the assists back on for player 1, also there is no AI that can be added to the race even on the PS5 version. Launching the split-screen mode like this just to say there is couch coop is a disgrace and should not even be included in the game in the current state, which I guess will never be updated.

Paid full price for AAA game but it's been unplayable for over 24 hours due to server maintenance and an always online requirement. The Single player component should at least be playable offline.

Not playable due to online obligation. Reducing the credits and making so many ads for MicroTxns is a disgrace. Do not buy, get your refund and let them know they will not get through with this. Last GT for me.

Scummy cash reward nerfs to push players towards spending money in a $70 game. Always-online to play makes even the single player career mode unplayable for almost a whole day now due to extended server maintenance.

I have submitted several but reports but heard nothing back and have been unable to play for over a week.

I heard patch 1.07 was coming and hoped that would resolve the issue however that patch seems to have knocked out the game altogether and it won’t even open - This is affecting all users and has been going on for over 24 hours.

Customer service is none existent so suggest you don’t waste the money on something that is literally unplayable.

Polyphony have been shambolic over the last 24 hours, in which time they have undergone a 2-hr maintenance period, which has been extended for an unknown duration, meaning you basically can't play the game at all (don't even mention the lame mode that does still work). They have failed to update their customers during this period which is simply not acceptable.

This game is a full-priced one, yet they are treating it like they've used an F2P model. Congratulations on getting a step closer to becoming EA.

I’ve not been able to play this $100 for two days now. Why on earth is single player (basically offline) mode requiring us to have a constant internet connection? And then just to really screw with us servers are down for maintenance constantly (and almost two days this current time), which in Australia is at a really annoying time when you might want to play the bloody game!

    This Gran Turismo is embarrassing!
It’s embarrassing to sell a stand alone game with career unplayable offline: not everyone can/wants to play online so how to justify his purchase?
No real step ahead after 25 years, this is definitely the worst Gran Turismo I ever seen.

Disgusting practises by Sony. Their first party games are already the most expensive in the industry now, but they have released a patch that almost forces you towards Microtransactions. They cut most in-game rewards.

Plus the game is ALWAYS ONLINE. The game has been down as of writing for near 24hrs & we can't even play single player.

I‘m out! Started a long time ago with GT2 on my PS1 and played GT3, GT4 and GT Sport. With GT7 the series is coming to an end for me. I will not buy it. Of course, graphics are great as always. But they have been awesome since GT3. This is not the main reason for playing a new Gran Turismo anymore. At least not for me. More important is now gameplay and game structure. More important is now gameplay and game structure. And here we are: I don‘t pay 70 Euro just for slightly better graphics compared to GT Sport. So what is with the rest of the game? Is it worth it? In my opinion it is not. One main reason is the in game currency. It has been there ever since GT entered gaming but nowadays they want you to pay real money to get enough in game credits. So if you are like me and neither have the time to grind endless hours for some virtual cars and upgrades nor want to spend additional money for in game stuff that has already being purchased within the game price (70 Euro), what will you do? I say: don‘t waste any money and don‘t waste any time for a dirty business practice. Yes, I know. GT Sport has had microtransactions as well. But they were not as aggressive. Now earning in game credits has become harder to simply force someone into paying real money for it. I will not support this. Update 18.03.22: With a new update they made it even harder to earn in game credits (only half of the old in game price money for won races).
Some other aspects leading to my decision to not buy the game:
    - after GT Sport came without classic GT circuits there are now only a few of them back in GT7. Some of the all time fan favorites are missing again
    - Rain and daytime effects are finally there but - again - not available on every track
    - again no damage model for the cars
    - the online mode with three daily races is the same as it was in GT Sport. Zero innovation.
    - last but not least the publisher decided to not offer the game to Russian players because of Russias war against Ukraine. What has this to do with someone in Russia who want‘s to play a PlayStation game? I don’t go along with this kind of collective punishment.

You need to be online all the time even for the single player content. The in-game economy is bad, you barely earn any credits and the cars are way more expensive than in the previous games. Everything is done to push you to use micro transactions to buy cars (limited availability, time restrictions, invitations required to buy some cars, etc).

first of all: this game should be F2P with this push towards microtrsactions. it was also nice from PD to add the microtrsactions after the review of the media. not a real GT. little things to do after you finish the cafe missions. licences and everything else take a couple of hours and thats it. no endurance races no b-spec mode.
the ecomony in the game is trimmed to spend as much money

the ecomony in the game is trimmed to spend as much money as possible in micro transactions. really bad payouts and after the 1.07 patch they reduced the payout even further. honestly it could be a free to play title but I paid €70 for this nonsense. 25 years ago I played my very first GT. this is the last one. cheery on top, if you have no internet connection or they are doing updates the game is useless. you can drive arcade with a handful of cars for no money at all. everything else is turned off. this game is fundamentally broken! don‘t buy it but rather wait for a sale when it costs around €10.

Real shame the way that the game has gone. Overall, mediocre. The game has now been ruined by the most recent update and has been broken for 24 hours now. The game is pushing so hard for MTX when the base game is a £70 overpriced game to start with. Very scummy from PD & Sony.

I would really struggle to recommend anyone to buy this at the moment, and especially at £70. Wait for a sale.

Great game, with microtransactions at first, which was understandable since most people work and don't have that much time to play.

...But they screwed up with the latest update. It's now a grindfest. Shame that i got the game two days before the last update, went from a 10/10 to regretting the buy.

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]
