Game was patched in the first month after release and reviews and hooking everyone in to dramatically lower the rewards for racing and push the game into MTX nightmare territory. Absolutely abysmal business practices do not buy.

Cant believe I fell into a scam, microtransactions up the ass. Free2play mechanics for a 70 quid game.

And this from a first party sony game...
    total con, avoid!

O jogo só poder ser jogado on line. As recompensas pelas corridas são ridículas, obrigando a gastar em micro transações.

Latest update has killed it. The game is now all about farming microtransactions. I currently can't play the game even on solo because of server maintenance. Why does a game need to be online?

This has the potential to be a great game if some issues are fixed, but in its current state it’s impossible to recommend.
In gameplay terms: there is no focused single player content past the introductory “Cafe” system, which is essentially a lengthy tutorial. Almost every car is prone to far more oversteer than in reality. The AI is poor, and when it crashes into you, you are penalised.

You spend too much time navigating menus, and those menus are not well thought out. Event variety is poor, with almost all single player events being overtaking challenges.
The game also suffers from a highly predatory business model. Race payouts are very poor, and have been reduced further in patches. This is presumably to push you towards the prominently-featured micro transactions, which leave some cars costing upwards of £60 of real money (or hundreds of hours of grinding). The game is also always-online, and therefore unplayable if the servers (or your Internet connection) are down, as they are at the time of writing.

Horrible game. All modes are online so on the days with extended maintenance you can’t even play single player modes. Apart from that, polyphony digital just patched the game to reduce the payouts in the game in order to push their disgusting micro-transaction model. Stay away

I'd like to give this game a fair review. Unfortunately, after spending the last 3 hours waiting for it to install and download an update and sitting through a 10 minute unskippable video I now learn that the game servers are down for maintenance and because a constant internet connection is required I can't play.

I'm very tempted to put it back in the box and return it.

Game was patched to exclusively become a platform to get you to pay micro-transactions to have a good experience. Base gameplay was already barely affordable with in-game economy and that has been removed. Do not buy unless you want to spend hundreds-thousands of dollars for a decent experience, or lose the rest of your life to grinding single player races against a crappy AI.

So, I was genuinely enjoying the game, but after the maintenance today, the devs revealed their true colors - and while yes, I'm upset in the moment, the current state of the world never ceases to rear it's head in every single facet of my life, and video games should be the last place you constantly see economic greed to this degree. So, just for people who are unaware, they shut the game down for, what I believe is around 15 hours and counting. The reason for this is because the in-game currency can also be purchased as premium currency. The amount is frankly insane too. Well, apparently after the latest patch, someone figured out how to cheese the currency, so since Sony/polyphony/whoever wasn't making as much money as possible, they shut the entire game down to fix this, rather than any other issue that would just be patched in, like usual. This really started to get worse in my head when I thought about the fact that you can't play the game offline really at all (barely any circuits and some music rally stuff.) The reason is because the in game currency affects the devs pockets, so we aren't able to play offline due to that. Everything in the world not only depends on money, but truly revolves around it more and more blatantly to the point where everyone just directly admits to it to your face, gives you the finger, and says "deal with it." It's frustrating and depressing that this, and so many other promising things (I have a lot of hobbies and interests) have just been only about money, and not about passion or anything else, and I swear it wasn't always like this. As the 25th anniversary in this long running series I was expecting gt7 to be a great come back for the series. It pains me to say that what this game is lacking not due to reasons such as lack of effort and talent but purely for reasons of greed. The game is extremely grindy and dangles pay to win solutions in front of you at any chance it gets. It’s non sense that the micro transactions were hidden from reviewers and the fact that most of the present critic reviews don’t reflect the experience users are currently playing is unfortunate and deceptive. I was beyond excited to play this game and it sucks that I’d feel guilty about recommending it to anyone. Expand

Feels like a crappier, knock off Forza demo. Loot boxes and paid credits. Nerfed race credit payouts to push you towards buying credits. Would be fine if there were races to utilize the high tier races, but there aren't. Hardly any races. Probably a quarter of the constant GT4 had. Not worth 70 dollars, not worth my time.

The sound, while not great, is far better than any previous game. The attention to tiny details in certain areas are amazing too, plenty of easter eggs to uncover. Amazing menu music Now the bad

Dont buy the game expecting the typical GT issues to be fixed as they haven’t learned a single lesson from former mistakes. The online is just as bad as ever. The car count is fine but the number of new cars is almost zero, no 720s, no c8, dont make me list. Most popular sports cars from the last 5 years arent here. The race music is near identical of the previous game with the exception of maybe 5 songs? You still have 90% of races starting in 16th place rolling start with the leader half the track ahead. The AI is just as bad as ever or perhaps worse because they pit you for zero reason. Now the really bad

Microtransactions are fine as long as you dont tailor your $70 game around them…but they did this time. Every single car has seen a price increase (an s2000 is $100k) and payouts from races are TINY compared to previous games. The game is completely unfinished, half of the licenses arent even used in the “campaign”. There isnt a real campaign. Theres a stupid cafe system where you can finish in 3 days and thats with only a few hours played a day. PD is actively patching races with large payouts so players dont get money too fast. The number of courses is miniscule and dont include many courses featured in trailers. The physics for some rwd are completely wrong (ie 350z has snap oversteer like an s2000 with bad tires. These are both cars ive owned and tracked irl). There are many glitches, crashes and flat out errors that are getting worse with every patch (for the past week, tires on dozens of mission races and licenses have been bugged making the missions/licenses near impossible. TLDR: absolute mess of a game. An embarrassment for a 25th anniversary. Wait and I mean WAIT long to buy it, perhaps a year or more. Completely unlike the PD of old, but anyone with a brain could have seen this coming after the launch of GT 5 and GT sport. Those were just tests to see how little content they could getaways with and how gullible the fanbase was.

    75 euros...
This game is a GAAS "Game as a Service".
You pay full price for a game UNFINISHED, with A LOT OF MICRO TRANSACTIONS , and a MANDATORY internet connection.
Today is the perfect example : Servers under maintenance since 17 hours ATM. The game, even the solo mode can't be played...
I'm a GT player from the first hours... but this is just unacceptable.

can't believe you need an internet connection to play single player! pair that with ridiculous server maintenance times means that you cannot play for hours at a time!

Now PD is even patching in-game credit system making it harder to obtain cars - encouraging microtransactions. This is not right for a game that costs $100+

Loved this game…and then they made it it absolutely impossible to afford anything with a new update. So many shady tactics to swindle you into mictrotransactions. Do not buy this game. Do not support Polyphony or Sony.

Why - updates have killed the game. Single player still relays on servers so when they go down you can’t play. It’s soooo much harder to earn credits now they’ve nerfed race bonuses

Internet obbligatorio e va bene, ma se c'è un problema di rete a parte il caricamento eccessivo su ps5, il senso che non si può fare nulla? Neanche ciò che è singleplayer

    Gt sport molto più decente.

For the first week, many players realized that this game was extremely grindy, meaning you had to play and absurd amount of hours just to get credits and unlock/purchase new cars, upgrades etc. But not everyone has insane amount of hours to drop on a game. so naturally everyone started looking for ways to get credits faster. This greedy company decided instead to reduce the amount of credits earned per races and push their microtransactions to the front page, even after the game was already $80, to make matters even worse, their ingame roulette tickets give you the impression that you could win awesome prices such as high amount of credits, car parts or even expensive cars, however the system is so rigged that always gives you the lowest and cheapest reward. How fckd up of a company do you have to be to manipulate consumers this way and to force microtransactions? I'm off to playing something else, they really messed up this time.

Online only for a predominantly single-player game...

    why?

so that you have no chance at hacking your game to give yourself in game credits. All to protect their absurd GaaS microtransaction business model.

what a gross f2p mobile game approach to a full priced AAA game.

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
