The update on 17/03/22 has totally ruined what is a great game by reducing event rewards and further pushing micro transactions!
    Way to sell out, Polyphony!

Do not buy this. Should be a free to play game since they offer credits to buy with real money and you can't even play the single player game.

The game I'd loved, doesn't is this. from gt1 to gt4 the game was flawless.
now, 1 day of down, becouse poliphony is doing an update, the game is unplayable nor on the single player side. I buyed it, and the single player must be always playable, with or without an internet connection. the microtransaction are scandalous. I'm selling on ebay my new ps5, i hold it since 6 days ago. good

Just came here to say that Polyphony is a bunch of cash grabbers and complete jerks for the stuff they're pulling with GT7. A shame cause the driving itself is big fun.

A barebones single player campaign (that requires online connection) riddled with too many incentives to spend a lot of credits that are next to impossible to earn in a healthy amount of time, car rotation to increase FOMO, all this to push very expensive microtransactions.

As a 10+year huge fan of the Gran Turismo license I am absolutely disgusted by the stuff PD pushed in this new entry i.e:
    - 100% online requirement which means that a game I play mostly offline is not playable at all when they decide to do a maintenance or whenever their server have an issue.

    - 100% online requirement which means that a game I play mostly offline is not playable at all when they decide to do a maintenance or whenever their server have an issue.
    - The hard PUSH for microstransactions in this game is also absolutely infuriating. I payed 70 stupid euros for a game and they made it extremely hard to earn enough coins to buy some of the cars in the game if playing is not your full time occupation. And hear me well I'm a fan of the series and I used to love grinding in this game to earn cars, but this is now at a ridiculous level. They are also playing hard with FOMO by selling "rare" cars as "limited" to push the weakest people to use their real cash in their game. And WORST OF ALL, it was already bad enough but two weeks after the game released, they just pushed an update that divided by two almost all rewards for races, this is absolutely disgusting.
    - The campaign mode is the shortest (by far) and most linear of all games of the license. Where previous games used to feel like an RPG where you have to plan and make choices on your own, this game is so guided and you feel like everything is spoon fed to you chapter after chapter... Also there is not a single long race like Le Mans 24h or stuff like that

So now I just learned about this horrible update reinforcing the pay-to-win aspect of the game and I can't even play the OFFLINE aspects of the game because they have been maintaining their server for at least 10 hours apparently. And I paid 70€ for this piece of ****, this is insane, absolutely ridiculous.

I won't even comment of the few positive aspects of this game because they are largely outbalanced and I'm just very sad and disgusted.

Gameplay is great, but the shift towards micro transactions has ruined this game - and it’s only Ben two weeks since release. If you enjoy grinding hours on end for a car or spending money on digital “goods,” this game is for you.

Some customizations such as engine swaps, are locked behind an rng gift/reward system with very dismal odds. Overall, with the pacing of the initial release and the patches, I would recommend to buy this game when it is at least 30% off. The racing is fun, but the economy, rng issues, and the abnormally long campaign/license system that keeps some things locked from you for a pretty long time- makes this a “wait-worthy” purchase.

Wonderful gameplay. Which is a shame because the rest of the game is a shameless cash grabbing fest, where developers reduce in game rewards to lead users into micro transactions.

It would be fine in F2P, but in this case it's just frustrating and revolting

I find Micro Transactions in a game this expensive a complete insult. I have had every Gran Turismo game since the start and this one really disappoints me.

For me Gran Turismo has always been about collecting and racing different cars. In GT7 you will very soon run out of credits. Not only this but now online racing requires you to tune your cars, more credits needed. This would be fine if you could earn credits in game, but this is quite difficult especially if you are a very average player. To add further insult today they cut the amount of credits you could earn even more. So really to collect the expensive cars you have to pay more money in Micro Transactions and these are expensive.

Furthermore, it seems that you can play very little of the game offline.

Scoring this game as 2 and that's only because it looks pretty. Very sad to see the game go this way. Shame on the critics for not calling Sony/Polyphony out on this.

Can't give this more than a 5. Graphics are amazing and gameplay is great, cars feel amazing to drive.
BUT, always online for a SP focused game is a really bad decision. Also, really low payouts on races forcing people on microtransactions is awful considering this is a 70$ game, not a F2P.

Say hello to another game that ruined its economy just after the launch/review window for the sake of microtransactions.

I used to love the series. It did some questionable choices for the sake of money as far back as GT5 (selling single use paints as DLC, for instance), but it was never egregious, certainly nothing like today's games can get. GT7, however, already started out as mean

I used to love the series. It did some questionable choices for the sake of money as far back as GT5 (selling single use paints as DLC, for instance), but it was never egregious, certainly nothing like today's games can get. GT7, however, already started out as mean with its rewards (chiefly the roulette spins that just happen to give you the lowest reward 90% of the time), and with the latest patch, they turned the game into a total grindfest that also tries to tug on your FOMO strings (e.g. the system of invitations: brief windows to buy expensive cars you most likely can't afford)... unless you'd like to buy some in-game currency *nudge* *nudge*

I badly regret buying this game. I'd love a refund, but after two weeks of playing daily, I doubt I'd get it (PSN is notorious for being stingy with those at the best of times)

Online only singleplayer and an economy purely designed around mtx. Before 1.07 you could get away with grinding for an our or two a day so that eventually you can afford one of the legend cars. With mtx priced at $20/2mil Cr., or $1 per 100,000, what was the most efficient race has been reduced to the equivalent of $7/hr, down from the original $17/hr

This is an abuse, a single player game that costs 60 dollars and you can't play if their server is not on-line. With much insistence I managed to get a refund.
We should boycott Sony until it learns. "You'll have my money when you give me real content."

The game has a low content compared to all others in the franchise, lack of rewards, and a lot of micro-transactions.

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
