    Here is my first review ever for a game.
    This game will be a paper weight some day because of the online mandatory connection.
    Think about the poor families that cannot afford an internet connection then finding out about the online issue. The creator of this game says microtransactions for cars are expensive so it should relate to the real world cars. He's out of touch with reality.    Here is my first review ever for a game.

    This is basically a damn toy for adults and not a snack machine ready to nickel and dime you.

    Always online is the worst especially if we paid full price for the game! We players want full control of offline content! cost of cars, pay outs from racing is ridiculous… SONY please fix this because I really want to enjoy this game!

    Ruined by low payout that was nerfed in favor of microtransactions. The biggest issue for me is that you can not play single player mode without conection to the server. Server was down for 2 days which ment you can not play the game that you paid for. And why do you need server conection to play single mode???

    Another big issue is that you need ps plus subscription to play multiplayer mode. Which again adds to the overall cost of the game. I remember GT6 obline where you got weekly missions to make some extra money and that is gone. I am selling the game and going back to GT6 and I am 37 old and I was the biggest fan of GT series from the first game 25 years ago. I even planned to buy Ps5 just for this game alone. Luckily I could not get my hands on ps5.

    As someone who has played the GT series since GT one on PS1, it is truly sad to see where it gets to. Predatory micro transaction and disregarding your fans. I think Sony Polyphony greed is ruining their reputation that takes 20 years to build up.

    I feel like I've been ripped off. The microtransaction system to buy cars Is a robbery. I paid over 50 pounds for this game for my PS5. The cars are out dated and the decent ones will take you days of grinding to get the credits to buy them. if you want to buy one it could cost up to £ 40.00.     Polyphony have really dropped the ball with this one. Was good at launch but after some recent patches it has made the game way more of a grind to try and get you to buy the micro transactions. Plus the always online even if you only play the single player is a joke. I have went back to playing Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 5.

    Repetitive. Very predictable regarding the roulette rewards. Alway end up with the lowest value prize. Shame as I was really excited for this. Not paying more money to buy other cars

    This game is just a F2P disguised as a AAA game. Do NOT waste your time on this. Definitely don't let your kids play this game unless you want to get them hooked on gambling early. Would give it a negative rating if I could.

    I actually created an account here just to rate this game, that's how much I hate what Sony and Polyphony have done to this beloved franchise.

    A game that doesn't respect its players. Your time is meaningless and your only purpose is to pay as much as possible. Lower in-game payouts, increased challenge difficulty, online only single player - almost every feature of the game is designed to maximize microtransactions.

    Sure, the graphics are good and the photo mode is good, car models actually represent the real things, and there's a bit of customization, but that's about it for the good things.     The game lacks content. Like a lot, compared to the older games in the series. I came to the game expecting older day-to-day cars, tuning them up and enjoying a fun run, like in Gran Turismo 2, but all this game focuses on is super high end cars and concepts. They promised and did deliver on "over 400 different car TYPES", which includes like 5 different GTR R35-s and 3 different EK Honda Civics.. (and not even an EG Civic!).
    And if you even want to buy the high end cars and concepts - be ready to grind DAYS for one car because the microtransaction days are here.

    Driving mechanics feel off too, a lot of the RWD cars just act like the tyres really aren't connected to the ground. At any point your car can just go into a spin, and that's with the BEST tyres and suspension and downforce settings. And once you go to a spin, there's usually no coming back.
    Tracks are sort of lackluster too. Very few old masterpieces from older games.

    The HUD is clogged up and a bit confusing. It works, but it could be better.

    One big complaint that I share with many other people, is that the game is always online - in singleplayer. Which is absolutely ridiculous. If the servers were to go down (which they did for 30 hours), you can't play the game. Which also shortens the lifespan of the game by a considerable time. You can still play Gran Turismo 1-6. You can't play Gran Turismo 7 when it's as old as Gran Turismo 1.

    They promise new tracks and cars with upcoming updates, but content wise, I think it'll never hold up to Gran Turismo 2 (which is 23 years older than this game!).    … Expand

    I play the game for fun so playing on easy. But I can not win any race anymore. Always start last and before I finish I cant get first of second.

    Disgusting behaviour in relation to the micro transactions, particularly once the bulk of reviewed were already published. I would never have purchased this if I had know how they were about to alter the product I had paid for.

    I naturally won’t be putting any more money towards this company/publisher now or in future.

    - Offline races don't make any sense the reward, you need to spend couple of ours repeating boring races to have 1M credits, if they were balanced at least, you could do
    different races.
    - Arcade and Custom Races you get top 100k credits per 24h RACING... insane.
    - Physics, GT3 and GT4 cars are all losing the rear, oversteer, the real cars are so gentle and balanced, like Assetto Corsa Competzione    … Expand

Some cars are over $200 in real world money. The graphics are good, but the physics aren’t, especially on the dirt tracks. This game is currently at prerelease status. What’s the point of the license tests if there aren’t races for the upper tier licenses?

    I bet they will make this a “full game” after $200-$300 in dlc. Don’t buy it. Or at least wait a while for the ultimate version when it has as much content as the old versions of the game. Then buy it used. Also, don’t buy it if they require online access to play single player. That’s just a way for them to pull the plug on the game after they decide they want you to buy a new copy.

    I’m pretty sure this game gave me herpes. I was sitting there, minding my business and once all the micro transactions loaded. There was an intense burning in my nether regions. Went to the Dr’s and was Herpes brought on by malicious and insidious nickel and diming for content that should of been free

I should be able to take any GR4 or GR3 car and compete with everyone else instead I'm forced to use a car that is dominating the leaderboard, most dailyI've been playing Gran Turismo from day one and this has got to the worst of them all. I should be able to take any GR4 or GR3 car and compete with everyone else instead I'm forced to use a car that is dominating the leaderboard, most daily races should be called one make races because that is what you see, at least in my opinion. and let's not forget the poor tire physics. I'm also baffled at how I can take a car around a corner at 40 mph with my foot off the gas and still spin the car not once but twice.… Expand

GT Sport, the online focussed title, has a more extensive single player event list than GT7 - think about that. Finally, the FFB is very underwhelming - on the official Fanatec DD Pro - it's weaker than GTS and still has zero road texture details, every other racer does a better job here. Overall I've never felt this strongly or disappointed about a game before - enough to sign up to Metacritic and give it a zero.… Expand

    Previous Gran Turismo games were a fun and cheap way to "drive" cars most users would never own. Gran Turismo 7 is trying to be a part of the cpu game asset commodities market. Polypony needed to make and release a finished, error free game with races not pursuits to have a hope of walking their users over to the new business model.

En mi spectrum de hace más de 30 años los juegos estaban mejor acabados (sin bugs) y no eran Betas caras como este.

    THE BAD: The various characters and JRPG style dialog boxes are a little annoying. I get that they serve a purpose, but I feel like this game lost some of its focus about being about driving, and is giving off Super Mario / Animal Crossing vibes with its global menus and various characters. Minor gripe.

    You might say that the AI driving can be a bit "spicy"; drives better than its GT Sport counterpart, which is awesome ... until it's behind you, where occasionally, it may decide to overtake by simply driving through your car. I love the added challenge of an AI that's not a pushover, but routinely getting pit maneuvered should be for cops in Need for Speed, not in GT. Honesty, this is a minor gripe. If you race against people, you learn to forgive this sort of thing, and implementing good AI is hard. I'd love to see this improved, but I don't hold this against anyone.

    THE UGLY: The economics irredeemably ruins the game; to the point that I honestly resent both Sony and Polyphony and wish I hadn't purchased this game or the console. I loved GT Sport; (it had its flaws but) it was fun and focused on driving. You needed in-game credits to buy more cars, but that was never the focus of the game, and never impeded my sense of progress or got in the way of my fun. If you enjoyed the game and just played it routinely, you'd get enough credits and gift cars unlocked that you could just focus on the fun part of the game; you know ... the DRIVING part. When I played GT Sport, I had fun and I wanted to get better at driving. GT Sport didn't disproportionately and arbitrarily reward only one type of driving and tell me that I had to be on this particular track, with these particular conditions, and only in this group of car or otherwise take a massive reward penalty.

    "Grind Turismo 7" on the other hand offers you roughly 3 races that Polyphony has (finally) graciously seen fit to not massively nerf for payouts ... while every other track and possible race setup remains nerfed and basically pays peanuts in comparison. I can even setup a custom race that mirrors the exact same race conditions, and even double the race duration, and the payout is still a just fraction compared to the few magic races that actually pay out. Why Polyphony? What exactly is the in-game logic to justify this?

    This actually matters now, because every car in the game can have several hundred thousand credits worth of custom parts added to it. You certainly don't need to buy every single part for each car, but some of them are kind of important. Want racing and wet tires? That's over a hundred thousand credits for the set, per car.

    So Polyphony has introduced this massive credit sink into their game by making cars expensive to customize, while keeping the credit taps practically shut for all but a few arbitrary races. Oh and they've nerfed the daily driving rewards so it's not even a true 1 in 5 draw for a gift car, but a lottery system that's heavily stacked against you in the odds, and half of the time, the prizes are useless custom parts that are specific to a single car (or better yet, "exclusive time-limited invites" to buy multi-million credit cars at full price ... wow don't I feel lucky and privileged). So once you've progressed passed the cafe missions where races actually give you cars as rewards, the game progression slams into a brick wall and gets really grindy. Look on YouTube and see how many people are posting strats on how to make make-believe-money in GT7 ... a game about driving cars. If i wanted to worry about making money, I could just go to work. This game is designed like a micro-transaction driven "free-to-play", except we paid full MSRP for both the console and the game.

    @Polyphony no amount of new cars or tracks will distract players from the main issue with this game: a (still) broken in-game economy. 90% of the canned races are under-rewarded, and as it stands now, there's no point in me creating custom races if they're going to reward at 10% the going rate of the pitifully few races you arbitrarily choose to reward properly. Please fix this. Let us enjoy this otherwise awesome game on our own terms.    … Expand

I made the mistake of watching a review from PD shill SuperGT on YouTube instead of getting an accurate measure from honest people. This is my finish with Sony aswell as their customer service is appalling.

    I am a big fan of GRAN TURISMO. Almost every game is bought in two copies, one for playing and one for collection. The microtransactions in GT7 really disappointed me.

    I simply started to play yesterday and today i cant continue the carrer, there is some sort of error and i got blocked the carrer mode... I only can play 3 races and the licenses... I cant buy the cars i need because the dealership is blocked...

    Probably this have to do with online sync 24/7... I cant understand why Polyphony made this game like this...

However there should be an option to shut up the annoying NPCs completely. The grinding in the beginning is unnecessary. GT4 was good enough with the licences limiting the available races. It is not necessary to force people to use cars they do not want to drive.
    I am sorry for the absence of real endurance races. I hated the short races with tyre and fuel multipliers. They are back but they can not replace real endurance races. Apart from these pieces of **** and the mandatory races there are only 2 races with no multipliers. Daily races also most likely have them. On GT Sport only Daily Race C had them but in this ****load of a game Daily Race B tends to utilize them too. There are also cafe menu races with this **** The licences, missions and circuit experiences are another letdown. They are fairly easy (I had gold on less then the second time on average) but with the switches between different types of cars thanks to the improved handling model is very annoying. At the final test that kink before Blanchimont is a game breaker. Licences in GT4 were hard but fair and now they give us these easy tasks and trolling us in the end. It is also a shame this game can not be played offline.
    The microtransactions are just idiotic and the roulette tickets exist only to give you the smallest amount of money 90% of the time and so they can say there is a (1%) chance of "winning" a car.
    Also they fix one game breaking bug just to introduce another one with the patch.
    Overall the game is gorgeous and the gameplay is somewhat nostalgic. The driving is much better than GT Sport. However the annoying new features, the missing old ones and the bug introducing fixes make this game an unfinished abomination in between GT Sport and a real GT title. I hope future updates will introduce changes that can change my mind but for now GT3 and especially GT4 are way better in my opinion.

    Update: version 1.07/08 is even worse. Server was down for more than 30 hours and microtransations are encouraged after nerfing race rewards. And the only thing they do is making excuses. I do not feel motivated to play this game with the constant need to grind for credits.
    Update: just found out that online qualifiers do not count as distance driven. What the hell am I doing then? Hundreds of kilometers driven lost from my stats.
    Update: version 1.15: Online Time Trials added, but they do not count towards the daily workout (why should they?).

Bear in mind it's a full price game and they're making an extreme grind to earn credits by racing, thus making people to just use real money to get in game credits.     Personal: Is car physics or physics in general understood in japan? Japanese games all seem to lack physics, why is that? MGS lacks physics, the Yakusa games lack physics, Final fantasy games lack physics? Why do Japanese game developers not understand physics? Ghost of Tsushima is probably the best Japanese game of this generation and a key reason is its physics, but it took an American developer with an understanding of physics to make it great without the physics where would it be?
    The arrogance of Japanese developers to think they can get away with such a lack of innovation is crazy, as you can see by the user reviews the nostalgia trick has been played out we want innovation not the de-innovation that’s on offer here

    At this stage polyphony’s lack of understanding has reached the point they should retire from making games and maybe do a konami getting in to pachinko, to understand such a damming assessment pick up a copy of 2013 Drive Club (Non4K) pause it in game and select the camera, zoom in on the car model, then do the same with GT7 and you will quite literally see just how far behind the curve GT7 really is in both graphics and enjoyable gameplay the comparison is honestly staggering, why on earth Sony chose to plow their money in to the ignorant polyphony over the stunning Evolution Studios is beyond comprehension, a PS4 release title is graphically better than an accumulation of 24 years’ experience making the exact same game over and over again and a powerhouse PS5 to work with. If I was a developer at polyphony id be pretty embarrassed to list it as a previous workplace, it’s simply not enough to be disappointed at user reaction polyphony’s entire design team from the ground up should be embarrassed by this travesty they have ruined what could have been a stunning return to form with this disgusting money grab entry, I honestly believe this thing is in such a poor state there’s nothing they can do to fix it before the 25th anniversary of the game, if they want to be ready on time for the 100th anniversary they need to replace their entire design team now.

It has potential to be amazing and is in so many ways, but the negatives easily outweigh the positives.

    Suggestions:
    - Remove the microtransactions, people already paid £70 for this game, stop being so greedy.
    - Fix the AI, they are either too easy or too hard (the AI can cheat and have better PP than you)
    - Add real endurance races, not missions - so you can earn the money more than once.
    - Actually make the roulette system random, it's so obvious you get the lowest value prize every time.
    - AI good when passing but then ram you if they catch up, this needs fixing.

    I've read enough reviews - clearly this was a case of paid 'official' reviews for launch. The more people 'try' and play this game the more disappointing it is. There are way too many issues to document here so I'll just pick that missions are ties to the "cafe".     ì`ve played all GT`s but this one ... the career mode is a joke , its way to short compared to other GT`s .
    they want you to collect cars but once career is over you`re stuck grinding 1 track over and over to get credits for collecting other cars .
    The microtransaction is a so horrible i mean 2 mil for 20 euro`s while theres a bunch of cars that cost millions , so back to grinding that 1    ì`ve played all GT`s but this one ... the career mode is a joke , its way to short compared to other GT`s .

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
