    GT7 would've made a good base to be updated and has great graphics, it is easy to play in a semi relaxing manner and often simply customising and modifying new cars is the joy.     GT7 would've made a good base to be updated and has great graphics, it is easy to play in a semi relaxing manner and often simply customising and modifying new cars is the joy.

    However the car prices and microtransactions ruin this side of things as you won't be reaching those customisations without grinding the game for hours on end or spending real money on an already full price release.

    So many things wrong with this game, but for me the micro-transactions spoil it the most. It shows that the publisher has no interest in providing a satisfying gaming experience and instead wants to take advantage of people’s desires to drive fancy cars.

    I was big fan of this series since the first GT game. I could enjoy this game till GT6.

    In patch 1.08 PD made it harder to make in-game money by reducing race rewards in hope to force people to pay real money for buying expensive cars

    That's ridiculous.

    Honestly, for a long time GT fan, since GT 2, I am very very very disappointed with this game. Making it micro transactions central is a no no, payouts suck, the whole online system sucks. This is by far the worst game and I did not buy it and will not buy it. I went ahead and bought forza and F1. Will be looking into Grid too.

    I just drove a 20 minutes race, but because my internet is crack the game lost connection after the race and nothing has saved. In combination with the low credits you get for the races the whole game sucks and doesn't make fun. Thank you for nothing Polyphony digital/Sony!

    Really enjoyed at first, then they tried to suck my bank account dry, they've made all the cars too expensive and the credit rewards couldn't be lower. All they care about is micro-transactions and they have actually ruined the game themselves. Shame because it has potential to be the best racing game out there.

    DO NOT BUY, cash grab made so clear with the last update. Sony had a bs statment after the 30hr blackout update, which halfed payouts making grinding for currency painful.
    I hope to god people just stop playing and not be fools paying over 180$ worth of micro transactions for a single car. Godspeed gamers

Got to the point in the game that i have to spend $120K+ to upgrade my ride to be competitive, only to win 15% of those credits back. Oh, and thanks for the low roulette winnings -- usually 5K in credits or some18 million credits for a single ride? Guess I'll never drive that car along with 85% of the other cars in the game as I'm not spending anything more than the $70 already spent.     I bought the game on release, it had many problems but since this was the same in gt sport 5 years ago i could forgive them for that. What i cant forgive them for is their incredible and unbelievable greed.

    This game was one of the reasons I wanted a Ps5. Now that I have it, I wish i had never purchased either.

    Between the game being down, the microtransactions, and not being able to progress past a certain point, this game makes me wish i could return it.

    it was a great game for the first few days, you will get around 60 cars during the campaign and some credits to spend later on other cars. You would expect that after the campaign the game normally starts to shine, where you can drive any circuit and any car you want.

    But not in this game, after completing the campaign you hardly earn any credits to buy cars and the in game prices of cars are so high that there is no other choice then to buy the extreme expensive micro transactions.

    Absolutely onacceptable and completely destroys the image of sony and their flagship game gran turismo.

    Some actual examples:
    - after 24 hours of racing i earned 3.5 million credits through the campaign. 2.5 million of those credits were needed to buy cars and tuning updates (which are also really expensive) to complete the campaign.
    - after the campaign credits were lowered to around 30.000 credits per race or if you want to play the arcade mode on professional level to create your own challenges the credits earned are lowered to around 5000 credits per race !!!
    - then the new cars came for sale, there are two cars now in the dealer for a 6 days period that will cost you 12 and 18 million credits (a total of 30 million credits), that's impossible to get with the ordinary gameplay, you can't earn that amount of credits in 6 days as a casual gamer.
    - So if you want those TWO!!! cars, you have to buy credits online. This will cost you 300 Euros for 30 million credits !!! So to have those two time limited cars sony expects you to fork out 300 euros for two cars.

    That's a psychological game (the time limit) where sony should be ashamed off. If this is the road sony is going to take for there GAAS platform then it's over for the sony playstation brand. People can't afford that extensive kind of microtransactions greed. I think that people at microsoft will be very happy with these direction sony has taken now.

    conclusion,
    the game is a great game in base, but the fact that the game is locked behind a never seen before high paywall after completing the game makes is a useless game. If you want cars after completing the campaign expect to pay thousends of dollars on micro transactions, the current pricing of 300 euro's for just two cars shows how greedy they become.

    The gran turismo history of 25 years is destroyed with this release and i'm really sad about that.    … Expand

Reviewers got to play the correct version of this game, but with these forced updates that version has been surrendered tomicrotransactions or a full priced game, choose one, not both. Same goes for a disc version and always online DRM, people buy discs for the lack of DRM but GT7 has chosen to ignore and abuse always online DRM to reduce pay-outs of in-game currency with forced updates. The cars, tracks, and physics are great, but the game feels tremendously more linear than past entries. Tracks unlock through these menu completions, and so you never have a lot of choice in what youll be driving or where you'll be racing. The daily workout reward doesn't seem to be affected by the number of days in a row you've completed it, and the roulette tickets are absolutely terrible because they're weighted towards the worst prize even though it looks like an equal chance. I've gotten maybe 20 of these, and 18 of those i've gotten the lowest cash prize. The other times, i received a car part for a car i'll probably never own (and cant sell the part), and received a car i already own (and can't sell). In past GT's, the roulette wheel was something to look forward to! Now it's a wheel of misery.
    It's a true shame, because the core of the game is good, they just messed up how all of these core game pieces interact.    … Expand

    Je fais comme tout les autres utilisateurs je me venge , le challenge n'avait absolument pas besoin d'être relevé ont nous prend encore et toujours pour des pigeons .j'ai pré-commander 6 mois avant la sortie et j'ai pris la version à 100 euro et pour quel résultats...Le gt sport n'était pas complet mais il s'est bonifiés avec l'âge, pour celui ci c'est mal partis

    GT7 pay to win games!!! Sorry to put such a critical review for this game. But frankly the in-game payment model is outrageous for a paid game. I'm not even talking about the mode, all online, which for a single player game has no use. Clearly wanted reality outpaces fiction. If you are rich in real life, you will be rich on Gran Turismo 7.

    graphics are great, gameplay great, driving great, etc… BUT the micro transactions are really annoying. When paying 70 euro’s for a (premium) game, you don’t want to pay so much extra for cars…

We were told that we could sell cars. We were shown the races and their payouts. We were told that over 400 vehicles were available upon launch.
    ALL LIES!
    After only two weeks of launch they have decided you have to be online, you cannot sell anything, the payouts for races are now halved, and cars are not available unless you want to spend the rest of your lives grinding for minuscule payouts or………… purchase credits with your real life money. To win a championship in “The real racing simulator” does not earn enough money to purchase………. Racing tires.

    I’m pretty sure that winning championships across all levels of auto racing affords you buying tires.
    Seems like the only thing real is the micro transactions.
    Nice way to repay your loyal fans since GT1. They can have their silly pay to win micro transactions so that the try hard crowd can pay to win but the only way to make this right is to do the following.
    1. Get rid of must be online to play single player.
    2. Restore the race payouts to what they were at launch.
    3. Allow players to sell useless duplicate cars.
    And as a bonus add endurance races, and world championships with realistic payouts. Not enough money to buy two tacos at Jack N the Box.

Even simple things were omitted that make the game worse. For instance, since GT4 you could by parts while in a race so that you didn’t have to exit all the way out just to buy a part for a race. Why is this an issue? The game has dynamic weather. That means, if you enter a race and it’s raining and you don’t have rain tires, you must exit the race all the way to the main menu in order to buy the tires for that vehicle. Once you go back in however, it may not be raining and you just wasted $20K. This sucks more as you’ll most likely only win $10K in winnings. The payouts for races are too low. It cost $100Ks to fully upgrade a vehicle. You’ll need to upgrade them because you’ll never win starting 40 seconds back from the leader. So once you’ve put all this money into a vehicle you’ll prob never use it again because you’ll need a different vehicle. Oh yea, you can sell the car for cash either so get your credit card out. Polyphony Digital squandered an opportunity to blow our socks off. It’s great to play once you’re in a race I must say but the overall experience is disappointing and mediocre at best. Now I understand that pricing the cars so that they reflect the rarity and true world value of each car, but requiring a player to grind for over 20 hours just to purchase 1 of the top cars is ridiculous. I have been playing Grand Turismo since the beginning. I understand and support the grind,The game is built around micro transactions forcing players to pay to win or buy fantasy cars.     Mise à jour 1.08 honteuse centré sur les micro-transactions, ce jeu est digne d'un mauvais "free to play" sauf qu'il coute 70 à 80 balles.
    Sur Gran Turismo 5 et 6 on pouvait avoir une bonne voiture de course pour 2 à 5 € max, maintenant il faudrait mettre 180 € pour s'acheter le vehicule le plus cher du jeu

It was fun to win the roadster, but this time I'm disappointed that there is less content that can be played offline on the premise of online. It would be nice to add a car with DLC in a full-price game, but I feel that the credit charge is a little overkill. I'm on a PS4 so I know I'm not getting the "top tier" graphics but I still see a big problem. The problem has existed since GT Prolog, "SHADOWS"... they are horrible!!! Although that's not the biggest issue I have with GT7, the obvious push and nurfs of credits towards trying to squeeze more and more money out of the wallets of ayers who bought this game is insulting. FORZA is better, just sayin'...lol… Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
