    Can’t believe how smooth it runs on PS5 with little to no bugs. Game is awesome but of course people are gonna whine and give it 0 ratings because it didn’t turn out to be what they were expecting, doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it. Funny how some people are like mApS aRe tOo biG lol maybe learn how to use vehicles or cables or use Sundance. Overall, having tons of fun, can’t stop playing it. Just needs some fixes of course and need more customization like icons size and opacity. Oh and Portal is so good, takes you back to classic older Battlefield. Not a big fan of Hazard Zone tho but I wasn’t really excited for that in the first place.

There is a clear lack of content at launch despite the game being in development for 3 years by multiple studios and already being delayed a month: only 7 entirely way too large maps, only 24 weapons across all types, numerous performance issues in all platforms, and several odd design decisions that would have worked very well on other FPS franchises but not Battlefield. Review is on progress and 2 more patches are due in the next 30 days, but after BF4, BF5 and Battlefront 2's launches we shouldn't be having this discussion again...     Very rough around the edges and most certainly Won’t please everyone, but the gameplay is on my part very satisfying. Operators are a big change, one that felt very worrying, but I find myself enjoying playing with them a lot and growing attached to the challenges rerated to each skins and upgrades. Weapon need some balancing for sure and so do the vehicles. Maps feel a bit too big at times, but playing breakthroughs seems to be the ideal for fans of the hardcore battlefield all out moments. There at the time of this writing many bugs and crashes, but never in a overwhelming abundance. I can play for a good 4-5 hours and get 1-2 game breaking problems and maybe 1 crash if I’m unlucky. Overall, this one sits right by me and feels close to what battlefield 4 was. Trying it with a few friends is quite honestly the best way to get a good feel. If you have played the beta, the game sits close to it, but is still distinctly enough to feel like a good overhaul.
    Best advice I can give is either get it right now or wait a few weeks/months for all the problems and balancing to be fixed and for them to announce the roadmap.    … Expand

    After several updates, this game is good now. You should give it a try! Graphics are nice, new weapons and characters give more options to player. After playing mw2 for weeks and getting back to battlefield, I can say that I enjoy bf 2042 than mw2.

    I have been enjoying the game on my PS5 yes there have been bugs but luckily for me I have only had minor bugs. I am aware that some people are having a far worse experience than me.

    AoW - я искренне надеюсь, что этот режим загнется и забросится. Серии батлфилд не нужны какие то координальные изменения. Делайте нормальные ИНТЕРЕСНЫЕ карты, нормальный ТТК и баланс Ну куда нахрен в AoW такие пустыри? ну? Зачем растягивать экшн? Зачем специалисты? Чтобы на корню убить идею командной игры?     Super fun Battlefield game, probably the best FPS in years! Don’t get why it getting review bombed, probably the cod and halo fans! Yes there are some bugs but it’s still been highly enjoyable! Would really give it an 8 as it has bugs but as it’s getting review bombed I will give it a 10

    This is good battlefield, but I am speaking only about "rush" mode. For me, battlefield was all about analysing the battlefield. It is important how you move, how you analise situation, how you use gadgets and interact with squad. In this battlefield this is the most significant skills.     Muchas quejas sobre el juego y yo veo una gran cantidad de entretenimiento que no sentía desde hace varias entregas atrás. La versión de ps5 corre bastante bien y sólo he tenido algunos bugs que no me parecen nada graves.

    4) I am glad that in all modes there is a store tab, otherwise I was afraid not to find it (just kidding).
    5) Huge TTK, it is impossible to shoot two people, they overwhelm the mass.
    6) Too long pumping, you need to kill 360 people in order to open all the modules for weapons, moreover, it became more difficult to kill people due to the large mode, earlier it was possible to fill in the superiority and clash of teams. The task for the skill skin (red-black skin) is unrealistic, you need to kill 1200 people with grenades or treat 2400 people with a Falki pistol.
    7) Huge maps, you need to run 1 km to get to another point (in the next sector)
    8) There is no pumping on the servers in the portal, the level is pumped only in the recommended section.

    2) Нет списка серверов, ты вынужден играть на картах, на которые тебя закинули. В portal можешь присоединиться к почти законченной игре, а в основном режиме all-out warfare иногда ждешь, когда заполнится сервер.
    3) Нет таблицы чтобы посмотреть убийства/смерти/пинг других игроков, в лучшем случае можешь посчитать свое KD (можно посмотреть убийства/помощи/захваты игроков своего отряда, либо общую статистику другого отряда, т.е. убрана соревновательность).
    4) Радует, что во всех режимах есть вкладка магазин, а то боялся не найти (шутка).
    5) Огромный TTK, невозможно перестрелять двух человек, они перелавливают массой.
    6) Слишком долгая прокачка, нужно убить 360 человек, чтобы отрыть все модули на оружие, притом убивать людей стало сложнее из-за большого режима, раньше можно было набить в превосходстве и схватке команд. Задание на скин мастерства (красно-черный скин) выполнить нереально, нужно убить 1200 человек с гранат или полечить 2400 человек с пистолета Фальки.
    7) Огромные карты, нужно бежать 1 км, чтобы добраться до другой точки (в следующем секторе)
    8) Отсутствует прокачка на серверах в portal, прокачивается уровень только в разделе рекомендуемое.    … Expand

    I like that Battlefield has modern / semi-futuristic setting again. When the game works it can be quite fun. Every now and then there are these signature Battlefield moments of chaos everywhere. Though I agree specialist system needs more tuning however all the basic Battlefield roles can be covered with specialists and they offer range of gameplay diversity. 3 different gameplay modes areI like that Battlefield has modern / semi-futuristic setting again. When the game works it can be quite fun. Every now and then there are these signature Battlefield moments of chaos everywhere. Though I agree specialist system needs more tuning however all the basic Battlefield roles can be covered with specialists and they offer range of gameplay diversity. 3 different gameplay modes are also welcome because everyone can find something that they might enjoy or switch around from time to time if they get bored with one mode. If Dice keeps updating Portal with new maps from other Battlefield games, it could become huge success. All out war could also benefit from new content in the future and updates to the existing maps as currently some of them are underwhelming because there is no cover and are not infantry friendly.
    At the time of writing this review, there are multiple major issues that needs to be solved for the game to be great:
    - Fix game breaking bugs (stuck in revive, starting match without possibility to join it, server issues)
    - Fix the rest of the bugs (possibility to clip through walls, driving hovercraft up the side of a building, be marked as an enemy, cannot revive in water or if teammate is blocked by an environment)
    - Shooting mechanics (bullet spread for most weapons, balancing issues)
    - Gun upgrades (some of them have the same effects as other upgrade from the same category)
    - UI problems (no scoreboard, limited ui customization, ui can get too cluttery and obstruct vision, too many menus within menus)
    - No voice chat, no public chat
    - Spotting feels inconsistent
    - map improvements (should fill the large areas without cover to make them infantry friendly)
    - combat improvements (add more ways to deal with enemy vehicles, add more weapons)
    - add more vehicles at the base to avoid running for most of the team to the first flag
    - improve spawning (some spawns cannot be selected on consoles, at the beginning you get auto-spawned on the ground)
    - destruction is underwhelming compared to other Battlefield titles
    - Improve feeling of reward (add military ranks with each level, show damage done to enemies and enemy vehicles (what does "broke a part" even mean?), add "assist count as kill")
    - make the tone of the game consistent (match end screen with specialists saying cheesy line are not consistent in tone with the rest of the game)

    These are just some issues with the game. Battlefield 2042 has huge potential, especially if they continue to update and fix the game for upcoming years without releasing a new one every other year. Luckily when the game works it's fun but when it doesn't it can get really frustrating.    … Expand

    It's so hard that it makes me hate the game and it is really buggy. I was better at Battlefield 5 and I first played it in 2020 and it was easy. I have no idea what it is. Maybe it's because them **** at ea let people play the game a week early.

    I can see why a lot of people are writing negative about it. Its not that I don't see the problems, but im im still having a blast playing BF2042 and I don't think that there is something fundamentally wrong with it, there is just a lot more dev time needed and lots of fixes. Should be a great BF experience further down the road in my opinion.

    Okay so yes there is bugs and there some issues with severs, but even looking past all this there is still something about this game that just doesn’t feel good. Gunplay seems to be annyoing and way off there’s no aim assist. The specialists obviously suck and play not important role in the game. Conquest is a boring game mode since it’s too big. Most of the time you are running back forth to objectives to capture and then retracing steps without barely seeing anymore. Breath through is the better game mode but can be crazy with the constant spawn killing and some maps have impossible objectives to capture. Portal is fun but there is no progression which kinda sucks but it’s definitely the best section of the game. Haven’t even tried the battle royale stuff but I heard it’s not worth the time. I wish I would have done the trial instead of cashing out $100 to play early for a game I’ll probably get over before the actual launch date on the 19th. This game needs updates and help fast… Expand

Looking at the score of the way I do though right now I feel like there's a lot of trolls that isn't a real score everybody I talk to and chat online right now is having an awesome experience some of the downsides though is it needs an in-game chat although adding someone to a party there's a little more of a task it's still worth it and strategic modes like hazard zone the gun count is a little low but then if you go to portal a quadruples in size so you can find anything you want for a first person shooter in this game if you don't like one mode there's always another one to satisfy you I admit I don't like all three modes because I like playing one right now but when I get tired of it I'm sure I'll switch to another one and I'll be just fine but I noticed that some people are thinking this game is bad I really don't know why the graphics are amazing the gameplay is action-packed other than a couple minor bugs which are normal like this is nowhere close to battlefield 4 bugs I just don't get why people are giving it such a bad rap on here and a couple YouTubers say it's not that great but I've been having a blast anybody who loves battlefield is having a blast too I think the majority of people putting bad reviews on this game probably don't normally play battlefield are still mad about battlefield 5 who knows I don't know I'm having a good time I highly recommend getting this game and I honestly can't get off of it and that 32 I was starting to think I don't need to play video games anymore we'll battlefield reignited that for me… Expand

    Omg the graphics on this game is unreal. The gunplay and overall smoothness of this game is awesome, and I really like the hazard zone and the different specialists that you can chose from. PlayStation 4 players are missing out on these graphics.     On Playstation 5 Battlefield 2042 is running extremely well, no frame drops, no big server problems. I'm currently sitting at 15 hours of gametime and the only bugs I've run into are one that doesn't allow me to revive allies, and one were being downed doesn't show the "hold to respawn" option. The game looks amazing, and is a vast improvement from both the Tech test, and the Beta.

Слишком большие расстояния между точками интереса, можно половину матча бегать от точки к точке в поисках пары фрагов и двух захваченных флагов. Очень странная система в 100+20 Hp через бронепластину. Противники и такНу что сказать.. получили на релизе практически то, с чем столкнулись в бете. Большие открытые карты в "Захвате", на которых, очевидно, практически нечего делать пехоте. Слишком большие расстояния между точками интереса, можно половину матча бегать от точки к точке в поисках пары фрагов и двух захваченных флагов. Очень странная система в 100+20 Hp через бронепластину. Противники и так жирные в плане здоровья, так еще и дополнительные 20% здоровья подкидывают душноты. Доходит до абсурда, когда 3!!! попадания в голову из штурмовой винтовки не отправляют противника на респаун. Плюс довольно странный разброс у разного оружия. Пулеметы лупят практически как по рельсам, но у штурмовых винтовок ощущение, что в магазине 50-й калибр, вместо обычных боеприпасов.

    Абсолютно убитый режим "Прорыв". Та же проблема, что и в "Захвате" - огромные, просто нереальных размеров, карты, на которых попросту пехота не успевает перемещаться от точки к точке. Гораздо выгоднее заиметь транспорт и быстро перемещаться между точками, чтобы поскорее закончить матч.

    "Hazard Zone" - эдакий симбиоз Apex Legends и "Побега из Таркова". Вы в составе отряда из 4 человек охотитесь за несколькими жесткими дисками, попутно отстреливая ботов и живых противников из соседних отрядов. Вот тут то и пригождаются огромные карты, предлагая множество локальных столкновений на большой карте. Беда только одна - нужен сыгранный стак игроков. В противном случае вы просто замучаетесь сидеть на экране "Наблюдателя" за последним выжившим игроком. Очевидно, что в этом году именно на этот режим рассчитывали DICE и готовили Battlefield 2042 исключительно под Hazard Zone.

    Единственной надеждой ветеранов станет режим "Portal", который тоже не без косяков. Кратко - это привычный многим геймплей на картах из прошлых игр Battlefield. На текущий момент (16 ноября 2021) невозможно создать полностью кастомные подборки карт. В "Штурм" невозможно играть на сервере со 128 людьми потому что: А) их не наберется; Б) 75 очков подкреплений (а их пока нельзя настроить) сгорают за одну атаку. И матч длится, самое долгое, 5 минут.

    Наверное, режим "Portal" будет самым долгоиграющим среди большинства игроков. После "восторженной" волны стримеров, которые, естественное, будут боготворить Hazard Zone, а через неделю уйдут обратно в "Тарков" и "Warzone", настоящим поклонникам игры останется маленький огрызок в виде "Portal'a", за который они отдадут, как минимум 5,5 тысяч рублей. Ну и периодически поигрывать в "Захват" ради практики на различной технике.
    И, кстати, в игре нет сюжетной кампании или кооперативных миссий. За 5,5 тысяч рублей.    … Expand

    Amazing game. Forget about all the haters. I've been playing BF since BF3 on PS3, PS4 and now PS5. The maps are great, operators are a mixed bag (I like them), error free on my PS5.

    Some rubber-banding, but very mild. Again, great game!

    Beautiful game, feels like a Battlefield, to an extent.
    The gunplay is slightly weak, sad there are no generic classes for the primary mode, and some bugs are too bad to ignore.
    I hope a day one patch to smooth most of the persistent issues out. Otherwise, it’s a great game. Games don’t launch without issues, everyone is just mad.

    I really enjoy this game. One of the best BF games to thia day. There are some issues, however I did not run into many bugs that people describe. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of desctruction, which is a big deal, however I am enjoying the hell out of this game.

    Dual Sense feeling is pretty good. I like feel sandstorm on my hands. Gun's feeling is comfortable for me. Now, we have only a few maps in basic game but with the portal's mode maps, we have 13 of them. I only noticed two bugs: deployment problem on something like rush mode and problem with change equipment time to time

Not only because of bugs but mostly the gameplay itself. It lacks direction and does not feel like a battlefield game at all. Sound design is the worst of any battlefield, same goes for gunplay.     In my opinion, this is one of the best game relased in the last few months. Just a pair of bugs are the only problems I’ve seen (flying veichkes). This is a really funny game, I’m enjoying it and everyone should too. Portal mode is awesome, there are not too many maps/modes/guns but I’m sure they would add more in the next months/years. For the moment, I’m really enjoying it!

However too many corners were cut, to many key features that makes Battlefield, well, Battlefield were left out and the community is down right angry about it. They need to listen to the players, the fan base that has supported them for years with there time and money. There are several things that need to be added back in. I don't need to go through the list because it's all over the internet what they screwed up. I want to have hope for this game and I truly hope Dice can get there act together and change it for the better. With the new systems in place they should be able to not only patch and update but to fully adjust how the game feels and plays. If they can add in what they left out to get back to the basics, bring new and seasonal events to keep the game fresh and not go the route of how the other FPS have gone with gimmicks and pay to win items, then I think this could be a really great game. Yes there are bugs, yes the game does not feel complete, no it is not worth $60-$70 currently, but, this is a big but, if they listen and open their eyes to what their community truly wants, fix problems quickly, and communicate with players it could turn out to be a game well worth hundreds of hours worth of play. For the time being I will be going back to playing Warzone and BF 1 & 5 until they fix the issues.… Expand

    I’m a long time battlefield fan( sense bad company ) and BF2042 definitely brings back some good fun, I’m giving it a big fat 8. Battlefield 5 was the only battlefield I disliked a lot, this battlefield has been getting a lot of hate(I understand to an extent ). However this is just my opinion. Exited to see what’s to come and the potential it has!

    after several path releases the game now runs much smoother.
    More content and maps along with the inclusion of Rush mode now bring this up to the version that probably should have been released.
    Well worth a look expecially if you can pick this up at a reduced price

    I cannot believe how people treat this game! It is an absolute masterpiece and there is literally not a single con to this game. I love it, paid full price for it and am deeply grateful with all my heart to developers. Honestly the lowest score it deserves is 8/10 but as long as there are no real competitors to this game as a multiplayer shooter experience it is definitely 10/10 for me.

    I understand why people are upset about the game's state at launch. It was filled with bugs and glitches that really made the game a lot less fun (even though some of the bugs were hilarious).
    But i think that the game has gotten much better since launch. So don't purchase the game blindly as you might be disappointed alt least if you are a fan of the old BF games, but if you just want some pure multiplayer mayhem i think it is worth it at least if you can grab it on sale cuz 70 bucks can be spent more wiseley.    … Expand

    There's ZERO atmosphere. BF5 and BF1 had some desperation in the atmosphere. This one is like playing paintball.

    2 points because I loved the crossplay (yeah I know people complain about it but I found it fair and nice) and because of how fast the game loads.

    Overall, the worst battlefield I've ever played and a below average FPS game in general.

    I'm trying to decide whether I want to go sell the disc or keep it in case they somehow fix it up in 6 months. But I seriously doubt this is salvageable. Maybe they'll improve the graphics. I bet they will fix the HUD. But it's never going to stop being cringeworthy, and it's never getting atmosphere.

    Also, where is the feedback on the triggers? Did they not take advantage of a single PS5 feature other than the SSD for quick loading?    … Expand

But there aren't 124 vehicles for everyone. It just doesn't have any battlefield things in it.     Yeah. I love working as a team, taking out enemy tanks, reviving my teammates, coordinating with squads to outflank and outthink the enemy.

    This wasn't a game about being a twitch shooter. It was a game of tactics, strategies, communication, teamplay, making a plan. It was amazing. So so so so so so amazing.

    And it's over. Just like when counterstrike was new it was the best. like halflife and team fortress 2. Nothing beat battlefield.

    It was a good run DICE. You gave me the best gaming experiences I've ever had, for years and years. Battlefield 4 was the pinnacle. I actually like the cops vs robbers too. That was the best spinoff. Battlefront was pretty good too in it's own ways.

    The only fun to be had here, is at the expense of the awful game. Another dumpster fire brought to yoy by EA. 2042 is not worth the $100 investment I made for the ultimate edition. It's not even worth playing if it were free.

    Nopats (non patriated forces) were supposed to make this game essentially a PMC warzone, with the inclusion of "hero-shooter mechanics" a la Overwatch, but was pigeonholed into factions of US v RU which is the antithesis of the entire game. This design choice was done deliberately to sell battlepasses and cosmetics, and it did not work.

    Lastly, Battlefield 2042 should have launched in a finished state, not early access. And that is a trend that will continue if you support EA and DICE in the future. This franchise is irreparably damaged and should be avoided.    … Expand

    3 months later, gave up on it. DICE can give 2 **** about the community let alone for this WokeField 2042. Game is still not even near fixed, no new content, for those who paid gold or ultimate, won't get season 1 until sometime in the Summer (almost a whole year after launch). Pathetic to say the least

    This game is a case study in failure. The biggest failure is that it has taken away the core gameplay elements that made the Battlefield experience creating an decidedly unfun experience at every level possible. In the past players stuck with BF despite the technical problems that plagued the games and some balance issues because the core gameplay loop and design were always solid. In the past players stuck with BF despite the technical problems that plagued the games and some balance issues because the core gameplay loop and design were always solid. That is not the case in 2042. DICE has been trying to distil what creates the ''Battlefield moments'' and in their mind it was the chaos of those moments when teams make a push for an objective. Instead they've tried to artificially create a constant chaos through injecting 128 players, twice the vehicles and open map designs. To that they tried to shoehorn in Hero shooter mechanics which can only work on small scale games (6vs6 etc) discarding the core class system which was also integral in controlling game balance. The resulting experience is just flat and unfun. On top of that, the game has unbelievably low level of core content like weapons and maps (far lower than any previous game). Even if the season plans went ahead on time, 1 map added per season would bring the main game's Map count to 11 after a whole year. This would be half or less of any previous title. It also suffers from having a lack of any immersive atmosphere and a total disconnect between artwork&backround compared to gameplay and tone deaf add-ons. On the technical aspects, the game is a big downgrade from all previous entries in the quality of visuals and animations. More importantly there is not a single mechanic/area in the game that is not suffering from bugs and the physics engine is dodgy at best. Tanks move like sand buggies almost unable to pivot on the spot and either jumping in the air every time they touch an obstacle (instead of climbing over it like a 60t tracked vehicle) or stick to small objects like super-glue and planes physics feel utterly wrong. Destruction which the franchise has as it's signature feature is heavily toned down and extremely inconsistent and un-impactful. The lack or poor quality of things like scoreboard or UI point to severe cuts in development to make the release date, even though they're being justified as 'design decisions' when they make zero sense. Even core technical things like Controller &mouse input or aim assist don't work well and feel off. Sound quality is very poor as well completely opposite to the almost benchmark quality of previous titles. Pouring salt to the wounds, we have an experienced AAA developer than needs to create a scoreboard in 3 phases with customer input. As if we're talking about a complex new industry leading innovation that they're attempting for the first time ever. This is just another confirmation of the poor state of the Development studio. To conclude, this game is a failed swansong project of a Studio on its way out that no longer has the ability to create the type of games they used to that connected with their customer base. Don't waste your money on it. Support for it will end after a year when they run out of the contractual obligation they have for the 1yr support from the pre-orders. Content and support through that year will remain the bare minimum and will be pulled as soon as its done as the customer numbers cannot sustain the 'live service model' set.… Expand

    The lack of guns was fine in bad company 2 as progression was still fun but if you go from how this was supposed to be a successor to 4... there is a sprinkle of content. Attachments are not a fun grind to go for. Camos are okay, in fact I dont mind them. But attachments that are miss represented by their descriptions and tedious grinds to progress? yuck
    I dont care if there are 10 different assault rifles and most people only use one of them the joy is in the progression and unlocking something and hey, some days you might want to use something else and not just the "meta"
    Maps are fine but the lack of gamemodes is pathetic. No tdm even? or rush?

    To those who say "just play portal" use a pathetic cop out of an excuse to hide the fact the base game which is what we mostly pay for not a gimmick side mode is extremely lacking and I haven't even touched on the bugs...

    The UI is horrendous just watch a video. Changing specialist and guns should be easy but it just has unnecessary hoops to go through.

    A BETA CANNOT BE A 3 MONTH OLD COPY OF THE GAME TF IS THAT?!?! That my friends is a glorified demo... a beta is to test for actual bugs not bugs from 3 months ago from a different build...

    this game is nothing but a stain on the legacy and should be an example of what not to do when making a game. Nobody wants you bs battlepasses stop being greedy EA useless    … Expand

    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
