    Worst battlefield ever made. And its not about its futuristic bias.

    1) Map design is just TERRIBLE. A 128p lobby and the map is still a big empty world. 2) Specialists is one of the worst idea of all series. It becomes a game more about the soldiers special powers and less about tactics decisions and choosing gunfights. Sentinel ruins the game, they're everywhere. The traditional    Worst battlefield ever made. And its not about its futuristic bias.

    2) Specialists is one of the worst idea of all series. It becomes a game more about the soldiers special powers and less about tactics decisions and choosing gunfights. Sentinel ruins the game, they're everywhere. The traditional classes (assault, suport, engineer, scout) have NO purpose in the game

    3) TOO MANY BUGS! You can search online and see it for yourself. Hitbox is just terrible, you cant revive friends whenever they die near walls, etc

    4) wacky controllers on the console. Aim assist is just terrible, wich makes a clear unfair fight against PC players. You need to press 2 buttons to throw a grenade, 2 buttons to throw a medkit, etc. PS5 version released without haptic feedback support

    5) NO VOIP. Wtf? How do you release a tactical shooter WITHOUT VOIP??

    6) NO SCOREBOARD!!

    7) Few maps and variety of weapons. How can a shooter like battlefield be released with ONLY 20 guns?

    8) no infantry based mode. We know that BF series is famous for its all out warfare gamestyle. But we always had infantry based modes(TDM, domination..).

    I am a huge fan of the franchise and i am so disappointed to be here criticizing the game, but its just impossible to have fun with it    … Expand

    Absolute s***t. This game was overhyped with crazy preorder prizes for a few skin. If you saerch on the dictionary the word lag, a synonymous is Battlefiled 2042, and the 128 players servers are a gamble.

    The amount of core features missing is absurd

    Honest to God, I will NEVER EVER pre order ANY game from DICE and any other studio under EA. Including the Dead Space Remastered version. They are not make video games any more. That are packaging it and use it for SCAM. We should file complaint / lawsuit to business agency for their DECEVING act. This is NOT American!!!

    A confused mess, that completely lacks direction and identity. There's litteraly nothing to like about this game. A downgrade from previous entries in the franchise in every aspect. Bugs galore, and now, nearly three months after release, aim assist is still totally broken. It's more of a hinderance than help.

    How far this franchise and DICE have fallen....

    - the game is missing fundamental features and mechanics from previous games. I tell myself it will be better but I'm afraid it won't so here's my honest list, no bullsh*t:

    - the game is missing fundamental features and mechanics from previous games. Game modes, movement mechanics, in-game voice chat, destruction of buildings is almost nonexistent.
    - there are elements missing as simple as scoreboard or player profile with KDA and other stats
    - the game has little to offer, only few maps, few weapons
    - you can't manage your squad at all, you're paired with randoms and can't swap squads mid game
    - the game is largely unbalanced with SMGs shredding at any range, ARs being useless, and hovercrafts being invincible both offensively and defensively
    - spawn logic is about as smart as COD's.. So stupid
    - UI is confusing, unnecessarily difficult to operate, not intuitive compared to other BF games
    - the game is packed with cutscenes that force things on you - at the start of the game you autospawn at the base instead of having the option to wait to spawn on your buddy/vehicle
    - the number of transport vehicles is so small that it leaves 80% of the team sprinting 200-300m to the first flag.
    There are many bugs but most of games have them so that will be ironed out over time. Whether they can implement everything that was barbarically shallowed compared to other games ? I doubt it. It is a slap to player's face from EA/DICE for releasing clearly downgraded product (both content and feature wise) and false advertising by showing gameplay spinets which didn't represent the actual state of the game.

    I've been playing since 12th of November early access and I probably will continue to play because game can be fun at times but I can't recommend buying it to anyone.

    To summarize, Battlefield 2042 currently is: SIMPLIFIED, FLATTENED, UNFINISHED, DISRESPECTFUL.

    There's about 2042 problems with this game, but I'll pick just one that is actually ALONE enough to ruin the entire game: the maps. Too big, too barren, too empty. What idiot thought that 128 means the map needs to be 5X the size of Los Santos

    There's other problems like crap UI, crap gunplay, crap hitreg, crap specialists etc. etc. etc.

They removed teamplay and destruction...portal is a great idea but since it is not the main game, there will be not enough playerbase for many modes...Hazard is also fun but there is almost nothing to lose to make it great such as tarkov or hunt:showdown

Some would maybe hope for an evolution in the immersive movement from Battlefield V going to the next level. Moments like being knocked to the ground    Battlefield 2042 is something new, something unexpected and most of all a waste of money.

    What could we expect from the next Battlefield? Many might have been hoping for that next gen improvement with greater graphic fidelity and sound. Some would maybe hope for an evolution in the immersive movement from Battlefield V going to the next level. Moments like being knocked to the ground from the shockwave of a nearby explosion, or the traversal of the environment reaching for high ledges in the rubble of some blown out building.

    But what did we end up getting?

    None of the above.

    Battlefield 2042 lacks any soul. It takes many steps back on the series previous improvement and adds things no one wanted.

    Maps are too large and have many empty areas. Great if you are looking to run for 5 minutes at the beginning of the match to the objective. No cover, nothing of interest. The maps also feel empty and are devoid of any story of war and or the life that was there before.

    The new specialists seem like they were meant for a battle royale game. Was that what this game was going to be? They just don’t work well in the game and matches devolve into people not waiting to be revived because whose the medic?

    Right now the aiming and bullet spread is really off. Ever wanted to drop into the battlefield and outline the enemy with bullets? Well you can do that in BF2042.

    The sound design doesn’t represent Dice’s best. I have always loved the sound design and putting the War Tapes sound on. This just sounds lacklustre.

    The weapon selection is lacking in the main mode. The promise of a ton of weapons is within portal.

    Portal is cool and could have potential especially if gets greatly expanded. However when the best of your game is playing old maps with new polish, than what does that say about 2042?

    Hazard Zone ain’t that fun and needs many changes and better design to be more interesting. Not to mention it should be the one mode that maybe gets free to play… yes call of duties warzone has its issues but that game has a ton of players. Hazard zone is looking to be BFV’s battle royale mode that was DOA.

    I can’t recommend this game. It’s disappointing and shouldn’t be released like an early access game. People who love these games will give it a pass because yes there can be fun to had. But letting Dice rest on what came before shouldn’t be allowed it’s not good for the consumer.

    We need someone new to innovate. A lot of these new games are broken messes at launch and aren’t offering any real innovation and excitement. We can’t all just blame the pandemic, these games take years and these poor decisions didn’t happen in the last year and a half. Save your money and support better games that respect you and give you something new. We expected something new and exciting and got well something new, boring and broken.    … Expand

    Система специалистов всратая.
    Режим Hazard скучное и бесполезное говно.

    One good thing from battlefield, is the portal mode the other team that worked on that did a smashing job but again I wish it had more!! To summarise, it could of been an amazing game, the best one in the franchise but the lack luster care or passion for the game is gone and rather you pay now and get content in drips and drabs....since when should most of the games content come as DLC?
    If you was on the fence about this game then wait till its cheaper and more content has been updated to the game.

    The first game I’ve ever attempted to return but PlayStation wouldn’t let me return it. So many bugs make this not fun at all. Here’s what else brothers me to no end:
    - minimal destruction
    - no scoreboard?!
    - menus are so confusing - slow progression
    - weird gun bloom? - NO GAME CHAT

    Wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone. Feels like a scam for a full priced game to play the way this does. I’d request a refund, but EA has some coked out refund practices that probably violate some FTC laws if you ask me.

A basic thing thats missing is the damn HUD customization options, its a very cluttered HUD and theres no option to do anything about it, just a big "F you deal with it" and thats    This feels like one of those crappy "1000 games" CD's that would come with old PC Mags

    Jogo Battlefield desde o bad company 2. Só parei de jogar no fracasso que foi o BFV. Eu como fã da série, insisti e comprei o 2042. Depois de alguns dias jogando ou tentando jogar, posso afirmar que esse é de longe não só o pior battlefield que já tive o desprazer de jogar, mas como também o pior FPS que já joguei na vida. Eu teria vergonha de lançar um jogo inacabado igual a esse antes doJogo Battlefield desde o bad company 2. Só parei de jogar no fracasso que foi o BFV. Eu como fã da série, insisti e comprei o 2042. Depois de alguns dias jogando ou tentando jogar, posso afirmar que esse é de longe não só o pior battlefield que já tive o desprazer de jogar, mas como também o pior FPS que já joguei na vida. Eu teria vergonha de lançar um jogo inacabado igual a esse antes do tempo, e enfiar o trabalho de anos de uma equipe no cú. Os mapas estão lindos e o gráfico tá bonito. Dá pra ver que teve um empenho muito bom nos detalhes gráficos do jogo, nos mapas e etc.. Mas é só isso! O menu do jogo é extremamente bagunçado e confuso. Toda a interface de customização e configurações do jogo são uma bagunça horrorosa! O HUD então nem se fala! Uma bagunça danada, desproporcional e feio! Fora o fato de que sequer podemos ter um placar direito! Ninguém nunca nem pensou em pedir pra que vcs fizessem isso! Os sons do jogo são pobres, o áudio dos passos é confuso. Sem contar o fato de que o jogo está extremamente bugado. Tem mapas que travam só por vc correr. E olha que eu estou jogando no ps5. Inimigos que estão no centro da sua mira, você atira e o tiro não pega neles. O hitbox desse jogo ta uma merda. Personagens que você vê de longe parecem estar deslizando pelo mapa, não correndo.. muitas coisas que poderiamos colocar aqui. Parece que ninguém testou o jogo antes de lançar..

    E a cereja do bolo de merda que é esse jogo, foi ter tirado o Aim Assist dos consoles e nos forçar a jogar crossplay contra o PC! Vocês so podem estar de brincadeira. E digo forçar SIM! Pois não se acha partida com crossplay desativado! Poderia listar todas oa bugs e tudo de ruim nesse jogo, mas não preciso, pois basta vocês olharem os comentário em todos os posts de qualquer rede social do battlefield. Vocês cagaram feio no pau.     Whilst it has some great potential, the fact that EA DICE thought this game was ready to launch in its current state is an insult to the gaming community. The game is worse than Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS5, constantly getting stuck on loading screens, falling through maps, freezing consoles, and if you manage to get through all of that, then you get to take on terrible weapon balancing, poorWhilst it has some great potential, the fact that EA DICE thought this game was ready to launch in its current state is an insult to the gaming community.     A game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state. Seems like all time was spent on developing new "diverse" specialists, most of which are trash. Weapon selection is minimal. Weapon attachments are minimal (many duplicates). From what I can tell there's no wall leaning or underwater swimming. Requesting squad leader roles doesn't work so you're stuck playing 99 outA game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state.     In an attempt to return the sandbox and fan service so beloved to the players in the battlefield 3 & 4, Dice screw up at every point and thereby prove that the studio that made bf 3&4 has long been dead.

    The PC reviews say it all. And it runs better on PC! I was so excited to play this on my series x but they ruined it. They removed everything good about battlefield and added 500 players, so disappointing

This battlefield isn’t a real battlefield game. 128 players is nonsense; just added unnecessary chaos, you don’t even end up getting more kills. 64 players should be the max. 7 maps in total and they have awful flow.

    The weapons omg. There are literally only 4 ARs. Wtf is this?
    It tries to be a mix of Warzone, Fortnite, R6 Siege, Apex and so on.

    This is an unfinished, unpolished and broken game.

    My first couple of hours with the game, I did find a little frustrating - but I was trying to play with the BFV meta of rushing with SMGS, but using a DMR and Falck you can start to get used to the scale without dying too often, using zip lines and call in hovercrafts you can get around the massive maps very quickly. Another note - the destruction isn't all that prevalent here, im not sure if this is a design choice or a restriction based on scale.
    I think if your on the fence, in my honest opinion wait until general launch and a couple of patches have come through - and buy with an open mind as to what style of gameplay your looking for. PTFO and work with your squad and the game really works, granted it will be easier when in game chat is fixed. Playing on PS5 ive not been experiencing the number of crashes people have spoken of, maybe 2 in 4 days. So my positive score is with a caveat, that the bugs are addressed in good time, and so far with every other game in the series this has been the case (eventually)    … Expand

It shows no loadouts when I start a game so I get the default BS rifle with no attachments. Maps too big and empty even with 128 on 128 there are long periods of seeing no one. Compared to BF4 creativity is extremely lacking..in bf4 every map had a different storm/natural effect to change the map...2042 only has a tornado..in 2-3 maps..there isn't that many maps or guns to add to that. Game modes are missing from previous years...honestly this game feel like it was made in 6 months...sure sure you'll say they will come out later, but why do we have to wait half way through its life cycle to enjoy the game instead right from the start...EA has killed gaming in so many ways...and now has killed my favorite shooting game.     With a lot of the core battlefield mechanics lacking from my gameplay experience over the weekend. I have to give this a 4. I think visually the game is stunning, looks amazing. But the overall battlefield experience is just not there. Feels a lot more like a arcade shooter then a battlefield game.

    This game is so bad that I made an account to say how bad it is. If Sony was able to give me a refund I would take it this was a waste of money. The HUD is crowded, the objectives for every point is seen on your screen the name of teammates and their healthbars crowd the screen as well. Haven’t found a way to add PC or Xbox players on PS5 (could be my end for not looking hard enough). Bad gunplay: random bullet deviation for no reason, bad hit reg/ netcode, you just know it's bad when smgs perform better at range than ars. Next to no weapons, about 4 for each class. Some of the worst ux/ui I've seen from a triple a. Literally two modes for the "main" game. Hazard zone is a poor attempt at a tarkov-esque, "high stakes" mode that has zero stakes at all and is not worth playing. Next to no destruction for a battlefield game. Extremely cringe worthy voicelines at the end of rounds. Pointless screens that are not needed, like 4 or 5 different screens before you've loaded into a match. Not even mentioning they've removed even some of the most basic features they've had in previous games like a normal scoreboard, voice chat, changing squads and more. Stupid things that have been completely overlooked but can be found by a player in seconds. Example: switching buttons to alternate, crouch on RS, you can no longer use the magazines on the plus system because you just melee instead which closes the plus system. Also using a hybrid scope with alternate buttons means you'll be crouching/ standing up everytime you aim and swap zoom. Plus a whole myriad of issues and simply baffling design decisions that I'm forgetting. Portal may be the only saving grace about this but even so it has its own issues. Everything just seems so soulless with so many bad design choices. I remember back in February this year they released a statement saying they were "way ahead of schedule"... yet it was delayed a month and still releases in this state. It's just genuinely disappointing and not up to the standard we want, but possibly the standard we should now come to expect from dice. Please just save yourself the trouble and wasted money.… Expand

All of the good things that made bf a good game were removed and ignored in this bf2042. It looks like an unfinished game and made on a hurry to look like fortnite or COD warzone.     List of Current Grievances

    Let me start by saying that I so desperately wanted to love this game. I have been playing Battlefield since 2142 and it is by far my favorite franchise. Below is a list (in no particular order) of broken promises and removed or stepped on features that, if any one of which on their own was missing, broken, or intentionally removed, I could live with. When taken in as a whole, however, it just... I don't know... this doesn't feel like Battlefield.
    **GENERAL**

    * Plus system is clunky dog ****
    * UI is clunky dog **** wrapped in cat **** Might be the least intuitive I've ever seen
    * No Campaign
    * Lack of game modes
    * No hardcore
    * No military ranks associated with numerical ranks
    * Audio is poorly mixed
    * The maps, while stunning from both a scale and visuals perspective, lack any real flow for infantry combat.
    * Non-removable profanity filter
    * Lack of promised destruction/levelution
    * Faction locked weapons and gadgets in Portal
    * No rule editor support for objective based game modes
    * No server browser outside of Portal
    * No private/rented servers
    * Doesn't just roll into the next map after a game in AoW, back to matchmaking peasant
    * Cannot join friends already in a match (pretty sure I could do this in beta??)
    * Cutscenes all over the place
    * Cringe 'look at me' after a match
    * Cannot customize loadouts before joining a game.
    * Cannot select loadout or operator before joining a server which, in certain situations, spawn you directly into the game with whatever you had last game. This happens when joining a fresh breakthrough game, mostly.
    * BFV and Battlefront 2 were gutted to make this **** lol
    * No mouse and keyboard support for console
    * Options and description for kill sounds changed from beta. During beta it showed you would be able to choose between BF2042 and BF1 kill sounds. This same option now only lets you choose between BF2042 sounds or no sounds.
    * No Practice/Test Range
    **IN GAME**

    * Zoom issues with sniper scopes
    * No zeroing sniper scopes, starting scope (not sure about the others) has no hash marks on reticle for references
    * Biggest maps we've ever seen, highest scope magnification is 10x
    * No holding shift/stick click to steady a sniper shot
    * No leaning
    * 22 guns total lol
    * No ‘All’ chat
    * Enemies look the same as friendlies
    * Bullet spread / weapon inaccuracy outside of rock throwing range
    * Have to opt out of revive every death, no idea who can actually revive me anyway
    * Have to re-select spawn location every spawn
    * No resizable minimap
    * Cannot move while prone and ADS
    * Damage dealt numbers, e.g. "VEHICLE HIT 28" after hitting a tank with a rocket, have been removed. This applies to both infantry and vehicles.
    * Weapons can't have different sets of attachments in different loadout presets. Meaning if you want to have a suppressor on the **one** semi-auto pistol in the game for one preset, you can't have it *without* a suppressor in your other presets.
    * No fixed heavy weapons * AA rocket damage appears inconsistent * BF5 movement mechanics removed * Obnoxious voice overs, operators are incredibly vocal, every time you do an action they say a line. * Melee takedown animations have been gutted. All enemies are brought to a standing position before one specific kill is performed. * Cannot dive underwater * UI elements do not have transparency element and distant 2D/3D map markers and UI elements do not fade out by distance and cannot be scaled up or down * Good luck finding your marker on the map **TEAMPLAY/SCORING** * No VoIP * No real scoreboard * No stats page * No commander * Cannot join, create, or lock a squad * Cannot switch teams * Repairing vehicles does not give XP * No squad points for issuing orders or following them * No marksman headshot bonus for long range snipes * 'Assist Counts as Kill' has been removed * No vehicle kill assists * Spotting system is contextual and misses a lot of the time. For example, if you press Q over an enemy tank it doesn't always spot it, but places a go-to marker on that area. * The team/squad order menu (or whatever it's called) is a pile of garbage. back    … Expand

Games kick you out of matches after rounds over. Takes forever to rejoin games. Rubberbanding. Knifing people is terrible. Ive died multiple times trying to knige people but the game glitched.     This isn’t Battlefield. No classes, cringy specialists, terrible maps, worse movement than in BF5 and so on. Portal doesn’t save this game for me. I want something new after playing on Caspian Border for 10 years.

    I’ve been playing Battlefield games since BF3 and I loved them all. 2042 is, unfortunately, a complete departure from what made these games great. The technical flaws at launch are annoying, but the bigger problems are in the game design. It’s terrible. Don’t buy this game. Instead, buy and play any other previous Battlefield game.

    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
