    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.

    Battlefield 2042 feels like it could become a cool game, but it’s tantalizingly out of reach today. There’s enough promise with the satisfying-when-it-works gunplay, large-scale chaos (that’s starting to feel more controlled over time), and fantastic legacy Battlefield content in Portal that I’ll stick around for a bit. It didn’t have to be this way, though.

    Battlefield 2042 is disjointed and incomplete at launch, but it's impossible to deny it still has that magic spark that made past entries thrive. There aren't enough maps and one too many bugs and glitches get in the way of the fun. However, with the excellent Portal mode to bolster it, Battlefield 2042 does just enough to get us on board. While we wish so many things were better, nothing else does it quite like Battlefield.

    Battlefield 2042 is technically an unfinished game that just has dozens of problems on both visual and technical levels. It poses some questionable gameplay changes, some good, some bad, but it still presents itself as a dash of fresh air with great modes like Portal and Hazard Zone. Sadly, it has so many problems on mentioned levels, with really disappointing “bloom” during shooting, that it poses itself as a pretty bad experience overall and it is really hard to recommend to anyone until it gets patched or gets additional content in the future.

    Its a great game, i see it as an early release for a game thats supposed to be released next year and thinking like that makes me have alot of fun!!!

    It really is a bad as everyone says. It’s not just because of glitches that can be fixed. This game makes you play as a “specialist” hero. ToIt really is a bad as everyone says. It’s not just because of glitches that can be fixed. This game makes you play as a “specialist” hero. To be honest I got the game for 25$ and it’s not even worth that. Unless they completely do away with specialists,add back classes, add team death match, breakthrough, and rush. Add scoreboards, and hardcore mode. Remove weapon bloom entirely. Remove the invisible walls that litter the map . And give out all future dlc free this game will never recover. I genuinely feel bad for people that bought it for $70 on Ps5. The maps are complete garbage as well. Mostly flat like everyone says. They really shouldn’t have even finished this game. This game should have been scrapped before launch and remade completely. Dice has completely ruined Battlefield and Battlefront inside of 4 years. Our expectations were not “Brutal” as the whiny devs say. They were realistic. You could’ve literally given us Battlefield 4 Remake with more maps with the graphics of 2042 and new weapons, and everyone woulda been happy. That’s how low the bar is. And how far below the bar the developers actually fell. They tried to make a game for everyone who plays battle royal AND battlefield fans. That will never work.
    They are 2 different types of demographics who want different things. People buy battlefield to play battlefield, it’s not that freaking hard to understand this. Trying to combine both of those wants into the ONLY 2 FREAKING GAME MODES in the main game is really terrible project management. I don’t even count Hazard zone because Dice, from internal reports, has already given up on it on account of no one playing anymore after trying it for 1 match.

    You really can see traces of 2 different games that have nothing to do with each other here. One trying to be cool and edgy and hip, and the other actual Battlefield. Sadly it suffocates real battlefield and no one is happy. Everyone only liking and giving kudos to portal mode proves my point they could have just remade battlefield 4 with better graphics and more maps and weapons to the adulation of fans. 0/10

    Verdict-
    Complete waste of money and time. Play anything else but this. If I wanted to play with dumb dumb specialists I would play literally any of the hundreds of lame battle royals games flooding the market. This is NOT Battlefield.    … Expand
