    Why are all the male characters idiots? Why did the dogs kill Joel? What I just went through?
    There’s no story here. You just run for 20 hours and get no ending.

    For 20 hours, you kill "bad guys" for revenge, and you let the last boss live. Why? What’s the motivation? What’s the point of all this? No response. The developers went crazy with this LGBT and forgot the story.

    I’m convinced that only lesbians should buy this game. If you’re a white heterosexual, you love women, and you’re worried about your brain, don’t buy it! Don’t vote with your money!    … Expand

People complaining that Joel was “dumbed down” aren’t taking the 4 years of peacefully living, in a town filled with people he has to rely on and where they let outsiders pass through, into account at all. Also anyone complaining about the SJW agenda... you do remember Ellie was already a lesbian in the first game right? And I mean how dare they have a diverse cast of characters of different backgrounds? Like are you people serious. I will say I can see how some people don’t like Abby but I enjoyed her a lot. She’s not an evil person. She went on a revenge quest. The same damn thing Ellie did. Like I get it she killed Joel but he killed her father. This whole game speaks to the consequences of revenge and is reminding you that the “enemies” are real people who have lives and loved ones. It’s a series of actions and consequences that felt real. The ending was “bad” because the characters made selfish decisions and paid the consequences, Especially Ellie. A happy ending would have been nice, I honestly would have loved the game just as much if it had ended with Ellie giving up her revenge before losing Dina, but the ending we got was much more real.… Expand

    good to start we will highlight the good, graphics, ia, modeling, ready that is the good (now the bad and what is loaded to everything you name above).
    To start I want to clarify before they tell me homophobic and blah blah blah I'm not, since 1 (in the dlc) already knew about elly and it didn't seem bad to me.
    The game in plot terms is a complete GARBAGE (and do not come to me with that of a dark game for dark times) first in the 2 or 3 hours of the start they **** on one of the best characters in history in a CYNICAL AND WITHOUT SENSE, Joel is killed by abby so cruelly that he makes us hate hatred of abby's own character (or whatever) in addition to another character like Neil druckman spitting on Joel's body and making fun of him (in fact the actor from this character later on Twitter made fun of Joel as well so confirm my theory).
    But instead of complaining about what Miles already says, I'm going to contribute something from me for this, this is nothing more and nothing less than a script that tries to be cryptic giving a message in the style of death stranding (although death stranding is a better game by far) the moral that everyone understood is revenge is bad but other than that goes that Neil druckman wanted to represent the heterosexual white man through Joel and a transgender person through abby and they wondered what represents elly, well elly does not represent a person if not a decision and what decision? The one of the patriarchy and the one of the white man, the movie hero or the one of the inclusion and justification of abby, therefore tlou2 makes the player feel guilty of what elly is and makes you try to understand how elly made the right decision to Assuming Abby had a justification for doing what she did (revenge is bad when it comes to killing a transgender but not for spitting on Joel's face and doing many other things without any argumentative justification) nor talking about Elly losing everything so that at the end he said "better not" is a NO sense of argument and is THE WORST WRITTEN IN HISTORY, so Neil druckman only used the characters to represent ideologies and stereotypes that he based on his own ideology decided to kill and mock in the game (it goes without saying that the TOTAL INFLUENCE OF ANITA SARKESIAN is noticeable) if that were not enough, she also wants to make a tlou3 that I imagine will be some garbage like that and that will use this pseudo-descriptive plot structure p To represent ideologies and distill hatred towards the one who does not like it (basically the right).
    Also druckman can not say homophobic and haters to those who put a bad grade since the one as I say above had a very good reception and already knew about elly.

No the characters are laughable just how stupid they killed off Joel then added a character named Abby to which has no back story. or even mentioned in the first game, and don't get me started on the plot because that **** is all over the place while making the player play as Abby through 70% of the game **** that let us play as Ellie and Tommy not that ****. Man **** this game naughty dog should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this piece of **** of a game. Like | said before the story made no sense at all and the only time it was good when Ellie and Joel were together talking. This game also felt like a cheap jump scare to try and make it more spooky and even had a walking dead feel to it by bringing up that 2 characters are pregnant. Just no hell Joel even felt out of character to which in the first game he ran over a guy who claimed to have a injured leg while in this game he tells some random strangers who he and his brother is and where the camp is. Like what are these idiots thinking when writing this who gave the okay to let something like this even be released naughty dog I'm honestly 100% mad at you.

If you want to pay 60 bucks to do unsatisfying things and have an unsatisfying ending be my guest.     Ok so I have been waiting to share my thoughts on this game for about a day now. I have been looking forward to this game since it was announced back in 2016. The Last of US is my favorite game of all time and I was excited for part II. Luckily I was able to avoid the leaks so I was able to go into the game with an open mind.
    Let's talk about the biggest positives: The gameplay is really fun, the new additions like prone, gun customization and the jump button are nice additions and improvement from part one. The graphics are amazing and all the scenes are Wonderfully acted. I also want to acknowledge Seattle as a whole. It was great. each day/are felt unique and I loved exploring the more open-is area.

    Now for the story. Naughty Dog took a couple risks with the game and I have mixed thoughts on them. So Joel dying in the first hour was really upsetting. It didn't feel real especially since the game was marketed to have Joel more involved in the story. the death was a really good catalyst for me wanting to kill all the wolves. I enjoyed most of Ellies first section. The environmental puzzles slow things down a little too much, however they give you time to get to know Dina and Jesse so there's a tradeoff.
    When we got to the abby section I was extremely angry I signed up to play as Ellie not as some random chick I was introduced to and hour into the game. For the first 3-5 hours as playing as her I really just wanted to go back to Ellie. but as I understood her more and more as a character I began to at least respect her. Once she met lev and started formulating the relationship with she started growing on me. I will say I really didn't care much for any of Abby's friends when they died, obviously they had
    once I got to the first abby Ellie fight I was torn apart of course I loved Ellie and didn't want her to die but I understood abby(the villain) and also didn't want her to die. This strategy of putting you in the villains shoes was a huge risk and I think can only work if you detach (or at least to attempt to) detach your feelings from the characters of part 1. if you understand where abby is coming from I think the story is strong and a bruilty honest look to two sides of a dark world.
    I also want to acknowledge that I liked the difference I combat between Ellie and Abby, they both felt different and unique and the difference in weapons and combat styles.

    The ending I was not a fan off I felt unsatisfied to be honest. I guess the end was supposed to be Ellie forgetting Joel and leaving her ptsd behind. Even though I appreciated the two sided story of Ellie and abby both ended pretty unfulfilled.

    Also people want to complain about the writing and how Joel and Tommy were supposed to be smarter not to trust people. However it is acknowledged later there are tons of traders coming in and out of Jackson. I additon the fact that they were near death and being chased by infected lead to them trusting a stranger.

    Overall I enjoyed the game for what it was. Its not perfect, I was angry at first and confused. But as the game went on I enjoyed it for what it was. If you as a player can get over your feelings about Joel dying and appreciate and understand the two sides of the story it's really a quite unique, creative dark and brutal story that is worth playing. there were some pacing issues and I wish the ending was better but I feel like it leaves room for a sequel    … Expand

Im just sad that i waited and cared for this , the game could have made you angry and sad in a logical or more emotional way that makes sense but OMG , im upset that i cared so much , i feel like the game is asking you to BETRAY Joel , to betray his memory , and the flashbacks ( witch is the only good part ) ,was breaking my heart in a bad way , because that is what i want , that is what i waited for , THAT is what i CARE ABOUT!! , To let me try to empathize with the killer of someone such dear to my heart and possibly, one of the best developed characters in entertainment as a whole. Then we have the retcon of abby's surgeon father (who looksTLOU2 spits on TLOU1 like Manny spits on Joel. The biggest issue I have with this game is how disrespectful they are to Joel. You can tell Neil didn't like Joel. Joel felt out-of-character in this game too. Why on earth would Joel Miller tell strangers where he lives? After being mad skeptical of everyone for most of his life. Then we have the retcon of abby's surgeon father (who looks NOTHING like the surgeons in the room when joel kills them). The game just forces you into a bloody revenge tale and constantly reminds you how bad you are. And when you get to the end, Ellie simply stops being blooddrunk? If ellie would have stayed on the farm with dina, Abby would have died.

    There were some good moments to the game. Ellie playing "Take on Me" was one of them. Her and Joel pretending to be in a spaceship is another. The graphics were fantastic. The production value was top notch and the level design was beautiful. These reasons saved the score from being 5 or lower. I can certainly see someone give this a 7, maybe an 8 if they really did enjoy it, but anything higher is SUSPECT. The story is not enjoyable or coherent.

    I'd save the $60. Don't simply buy a game because of "perfect" reviews or bc of nostalgia from the first game. Vote with your dollars. GG    … Expand

    After playing the game I really don't know why everyone hates it so much the gameplay got better the story is also really good every chracter has it's own motivation I can't say that I agree with some chracter motivations but that's what makes them feel more realistic

    The Game is simply a Masterpiece that not everyone will get to enjoy or understand . An ending that will not please everyone but a good ending non the less to a really violent game . All the hate the game is getting is invalid . The game makes a point and it does a great job developing the story . Would recommend everyone to play it . It's definitely a perfect sequel to the first one .

    When it comes to the main part of TLOU2 which is the storyline, I have to say I really tried to feel the storytelling, but I didn't had any emotions at all beside three little moments. (Beginning, Flashbacks and the very end in the cutscene, not the playable end)

    Playing more than 50% of the time as a character who is hated deeply, mainly causes the problem that we don't get the chance to take the main and side characters to our heart. All of you who played the first part can agree my statement when I say that the characters from TLOU1 are the only ones, to who we have an emontional relation with. All other characters in Part2 are more or less meaningless.

    After a few days since I finished the game I clearly have some disappointment in me because I am a huge fan of Part 1 and Part 2 doesn't come anyway near. So I don't blame Neil Druckman alone for the poor written story. I mean, such a big studio should be able to handle a quality management. When I watched the credits at the end of the game and reached the part "Quality Testers" I literally thought: "OMG - You had one job". I don't really know if they were quality testers of the story tough.

    I mean, a studio what brang along masterpieces like Uncharted and a godlike game like TLOU 1 should be able to know what a good game shoud look like.

    Personal opinion about Naughty Dogs reaction:
    Claiming fans bots, transphobic or homophobic is clearly a childish behaviour when it comes to defend themselves because of the poor reviews. I mean there are people who are more tolerant related to theses points than others but I dare to say 90% of the people have a common sense and know how to criticize a game. Ok maybe the word selection could be better sometimes tough.

    However, all the hatings and discussions give TLOU2 more and more publicity what ND doesn't deserve with this regrettably poor written game.    … Expand

    This game was everything I wanted and more. It is a brilliantly compelling story that rides the line between black and white. The world of the last of us is morally gray where everyone has their own trials and tribulations and reasons for why they do what they do. It is human and beautiful.     Yes Joel dies. If you played the first game, you would feel attachment to these characters and feel the same anger that Ellie felt. Its a basic plot device and it worked out.
    Abby kills Joel immediately after he saves her. So what? Paints her as the main antagonist and the reason for Ellie's revenge motivations. If you weren't so busy writing half-assed hate letters to Naughty Dog you would be directing that anger toward Abby instead which makes the plot more compelling.
    Yes the Trailer models lied a blittlethis just makes Joel's deathmore shocking and the trailer didnt show anything that didnt happen in a cut scene or flashback.
    Ellie is a lesbian. Its 2020 theres a lot of LGBT in games movies etc. and it was portrayed in a way that doesnt feel forced. There issome force racial diversity which is why im giving 9 and not a 10 but it is hard to believe that a white girl, a Mexican jew and an asian guy would be in the same room during the apocalypse, and when 90% of the population is dead. I have anything against diversity but that is too forced. There are complaints about gameplay being outdated. Why would you change a key part of a critically acclaimed game? You don't because its popular for a reason.
    Thjs game was review bombed within an hour of release so the most people would have known about it is that Joel died Review bombing is a toxic trend and it seriously needs to stop. People put many hours of work into these and you are going out of your way to degrade their efforts. They don't have to make games for you. The story side is utterly garbage. They tried to disconnect themselves from the first game by being aggressively progressive in their story, but by doing so they disconnect themselves from the gamers.

    It’s a shame really, the complexity of the characters are nonexistent in the second one. I hope whoever decided this was a good direction will be fired or replaced from naughty dog.     This game is just awesome!
    Not only on the beautiful graphics, but also on the amazing story, it really put you on perspective that every story has two sides. One of the best experiences I had. A lot of emotions a cross the game. You hate and love the characters, but thats part of it ❤️

Unfortunately the main attraction of the last of us is a story driven narrative, the last of us 2 lacks the ambition and passion of the first game in the series with the main cast acting out of character and the meaningless and shameful death of a beloved protagonist, nd tried to introduce a stong female character but doesn't understand strong doesn't mean physically powerfull and built like a brick **** unlike ellie who is strong based on her struggles and character.

    Major spoilers.

    First off, the game has what we all agree on is good graphics, and similar gameplay with no real improvements from the first game 7 years ago. While the gameplay is still quite fun, it is dragged down by senseless side quest objectives and a garbage story line with terrible characters development. This kicks in when you play as Abby, which is really obnoxious and feels like a chore. I found the Rat King (THICCC BOI) to have better character development and build up than her in every way.

    A lot of the sections were interesting, the first open area Seattle environment was interesting, it felt like Metro Exodus in a way, until it becomes more linear with some exploration into safes, supplies, etc. One thing I found really disappointed by was when I was forced to play Abby, which honestly felt at least like 10 hours at least. This wasn’t advertised in anyway at all. Especially after watching her beat a beloved character to death. Just a small taste of my experience with this game, honestly save your money for Ghosts of Tsushima that releases next month. This game is just a miserable experience for the player, and it excels at that. Neil **** tries to subvert expectations but really just proves to be a laughing stock. This game is and will not be GOTY. CyberPunk will stomp out this game.

    * Forced to play as a character players inevitably hate.

    * Game tries hard to make player feel bad for the villain.
    * Gameplay almost the same as tlou.

I also accepted the ending even though it was controversial. I thought the game definitely could’ve been better, but I was satisfied with what I got. Other People ended up not liking Abby, but I really enjoyed playing as her after a while, and getting her side of the story. I’m hoping naughty dog continues to make games, like another Uncharted or Last of Us, because they truly are fantastic!… Expand

The trailers say you're getting a Joel and Ellie experience/adventure when you're getting an Abby and Lev adventure. The way Abby was introduced into the story felt forced and contrived. Abby's dad especially feels annoying to listen to because of how he is willing to sacrifice a young girl for a cure that might not even work. Yeah I know Joel did some bad things but he didn't deserve to go out the way he did, and no one wants to play as Abby because she killed him after he saved her. I gotta also point out that this game has graphic sex scenes that feel uncalled for. The first game didn't need them, or even uncharted.... so why are they in here? This game shouldn't be called the last of us part 2, but The Last of Us 2 wrong number, in honour of making the player play as a killer who was about to kill a pregnant woman.
