    Before I start this, I will say that if I've known the spoilers/ending before grabbing a copy, yeah I'll probably hate the game too. Because the way people spoiled the story did not include how the characters built up the events to get there. The build up to the end    NO SPOILERS. I PERSONALLY RATE THIS 8.9/10 but I will be putting 10/10 because too many users bombed this review as 0/10.

    Before I start this, I will say that if I've known the spoilers/ending before grabbing a copy, yeah I'll probably hate the game too. Because the way people spoiled the story did not include how the characters built up the events to get there. The build up to the end of the game consists most of what is good in the game. You'll SURELY hate it at some points, and that's what ND is actually getting at. You will be forced to play the game against your own will because you're just the one who controls the character, not the one who makes decisions. People missed the point of the game, saying the it's about forgiveness, if that's what you've heard. Well, it's more than that. Playing it with no spoilers will be one of your best experiences in a PS4 game. Just like what the main character feels, you won't feel like accepting what is about to happen. And Naughty Dog sure did that part.

    Gameplay: The gameplay alone gives it away. 10/10. There are MASSIVE maps and grounds where you have the choice to explore further or just evade the area, despite having a linear flow story. One exciting thing here is the wide range of upgrades for weapons and ability. You're going to have to think smart about this since you have scarce resources. This is a Naughty Dog game, so you should know what to expect when it comes to the details of the game. The way the player can control the character is just something you are going to geek about. The controls are still familiar, nothing to worry about. It's not that hard to learn the new moves added. Even the most subtle details are story driven. The way enemies react. The way your character reacts. Very real. Make sure to explore the areas!

    Story: NO SPOILERS. It's not perfect. But the way the story was executed may redeem it. There's this one part that is gonna make you want to get it over with because you want to know what is going to happen next. Easily, this is a 8.5/10, just minus 1.5 for some plot cliche. So moving on, the story will make you feel the hatred your character rages in. People will say there is no character development, but there is. And the lack of thereof is actually a part of it. As the player, you get to connect with the characters as you go on with their journey. Remember, you control the character but it's not your decision that is being made. In this way, you can feel what THEIR feeling, also thanks to the good acting. To be honest, this game could break your heart or could just make you hate it. But that is because that's how good the story goes. Hating it is actually what makes this game good, story-wise. That's the point of it, after all. To feel that bringing something to an end will fill the void pain, longing, and hatred caused, but no. It will always leave you feeling empty, no matter how much you desire revenge. Because again, that's how real this game could get. Remember, this is not like the Uncharted series where every ending meets a happy ending, or a fulfilling impression. This game takes place in a world where sometimes people have no choice but to do what has to be done, even if it's against their moral code. And this "moral code" may be the reason why so many players hate this game, but remember, being human is complex. Mind gets f*cked up and it can get really dark that it makes a person feel enraged to have the strength to do things (good or bad), but it also gets vulnerable once a person reaches a breaking point, so you just get to leave things, finished or unfinished. Again, that's how REAL the game gets. Too real, maybe some can say.

    If you're the kind of person who really looks closely into the character of a game, you'll get a lot of insights from playing this game, more so than you think you'll ever have about it. Glad to have it in my collection. This takes a place in my all-time favorites.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay is Improved from the first including combat and stealth mechanics. Graphics and overall world building is gorgeous. Little to no glitches. Everything feels very polished. But the main problem most people seem to have with the game, is the story. Or lack there of. I would like to touch on that topic to finish my humble review. First, people say Joel's death was a waste, and was simply just an excuse to continue the series. False. Joel made a sacrifice that affected the entire world's future and while we love Ellie and Joel's development, what Joel did was unforgivable in the eyes of the rest of the world. Including Ellie. If you think he didn't deserve to die, you're living in ignorance of what his actions mean for everyone else. Further exploring those consequences makes for an interesting Revenge/Forgiveness angle. The ending has harbored more hate for this game than I think I've ever seen. I would have liked the ending to have happened differently as well. But the way it happened, regardless of what people think, still goes in line with the story of this particular game. Second, the Homosexuality displayed a "few" times throughout the game is upsetting to many people, simply because they believe that some sort of SJW agenda is being forced down their throats. This is ridiculous to say the least. Not once did I feel that way, because the moments when it happen are so few, and the main focus is on Ellie and her journey to get revenge for Joel. Perhaps certain things pull people out of their comfort zones, and for many, that can leave a bad taste in their mouth. Many could agree that the characters acting as side roles in the game are a little bland and uninteresting, and I could agree with that. But I still don't feel like them existing took anything away from the story. In a game coming off of so much success from it's predecessor, you would think there would have been more dynamic characters they could have worked with. But sadly, TLOU1 had very few characters that we cared about besides Ellie and Joel. Which might be a single downfall of the original. Because now we have to start from scratch. Dina and Jesse and other side characters atleast felt like real people with real problems that an audience should be able to connect with. But again, the story obviously cares solely about Ellie and her journey. So they fall to the wayside. Which is fine. The games build up and thrilling moments become more intense when it's just you and you have noone to rely on But yourself. I give this game an 8 and not a 9 because the story could have had some more quality. I defend it against the hate it's been receiving mainly because the majority of hate directed towards this game is unwarranted. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's come to my attention, after reading several, several reviews, that most people found one thing wrong with the game that has driven them to say what they say. And that's the story. And that's fair. But not fair enough to give the game a 3. So many people have a problem with different aspects of the story, so they want to lump every part of it together, roll it up, and say it is all trash. And that is not fair. So many moments in this game shined very brightly, and made for an enjoyable experience. And sadly a few moments made me realize just where that hate was coming from. But I'm glad to say that there was way more good than bad. Final notes
    If you're looking to play a gorgeous game with intense thriller/horror style gameplay, with fast paced action, high quality stealth mechanics, rewarding adventuring, and overall a decent story line. Then try this game. Whatever you do, don't read hateful reviews about this game first. Try it for yourself and make an opinion based on your own experience. If you loved the first game, you will most definitely enjoy this game as well. Even if there are story moments you don't like. There will be moments you love as well. I hope those shine brighter for you like they did for me.    … Expand

    Lo jugué con un amigo y nos engancho mucho por todo el suspenso y curiosidad que se creaba por saber que hará Ellie y durante el proceso conocemos muchas emociones que son para reflexionar y aplicar en nuestra vida. Tal vez es un poco exagerado o largo las rutas, puede llegar a cansar, pero luego de se punto, el juego es perfecto.

    It's not because Joel died but HOW he died!

    The Joel in the sequel completely contradicts who he was in the 1st just to favour the plot.
    That is a pure example of poor storytelling .

    Being forced to play a irredeemable character for the later half of the game is just pointless and feels infuriating to play!

    This is not a troll review, just genuinely dissatisfied after a lengthy wait for a game that didn't deliver.

This game has made me emotionally connected in a way I have never been to a game before. As a lesbian, I thoroughly appreciate the way they allowed me to finally play as a main character I can connect with. Not only was the story intriguing but the gameplay was addicting. And for the latter half of the game, I understand that they want us to sympathize with 'the bad guy', but at that point, even if you give me the saddest, sobbest backstory, I really wouldn't care. I don't want to know it, and I don't want to hear it. I don't WANT to sympathize with this character, period. After such a disgusting way to treat a beloved character, trying to have me sympathize with the bad guy for almost half the game just felt like a slap to the face. I understand that this is a rough world that they live in and dying comes unexpectedly and brutally, but before anything, this is a VIDEO GAME. video games are meant to be enjoyable and immerse the player to keep wanting to play more, but this game did just the opposite. Critics say this ga,e is being 'review-bombed' by 'homophobic' or 'transphobic' gamers, but I cannot stress enough how much that is not even close to the case. You look at other games that feature an lgbt relationship, and they still get a high rating provided the story is good enough. End of the day, this is just a lazily-written game and an utter disappointment. This wasn't the sequel we wanted, and even after waiting 7 years for it, I wish it never happened.… Expand

It does a lot of things right, mirroring joel's experiences of restoring his humanity through a kid's innocence in the first game with that of abby in this game. It does a good job humanising everyone and creating a world filled with anti heores rather than villains and heroes.     Dont even bother. The SJW BS feels so forced and out of place in this game. And the game forces you to play a character you hate for like half the game, why?

    Ill give it a 2 because the game worked and looked mostly visually pleasing. But that isnt even saying much since its a console game and is stuck with 30 fps anyways.

    The graphics and voice acting was great, but the entire story feels hollow and poorly told. All of the favorite characters were killed off dryly and the ending was horrible. The game left me disappointed and I would never recommend this to anyone.

    I really don't understand, why so many people hate this game. It's the best game I've ever played in my life before. In some moments of the game, I thought please stop it, I can't play further, it's too hard, but it's absolutely amazing to play and end this game. I wait for part III, but I think it doesn't happen, because of this huge negative hate.

    Gameplay is solid, but the story made key mistakes. Spat on a beloved character, and forced excessive amounts of unwanted gameplay as Abby, Joel's killer. Just not a satisfying ending either, as Joel gets no justice, and Abby walks free while Ellie has nothing .

    Entonces así pienso del juego:
    Pros:
    jugabilidad, gráficos, escenarios, sonido, música
    Todas esas partes son innegablemente muy buenas. Son de primera categoría. Claro que los controles a veces se sienten raros, pero lo hacen en la mayoría de los juegos. Sería injusto decir que este juego no está actualizado en términos de todos los puntos que mencioné.
    Contras:
    Historia, diseño de personajes, desarrollo de personajes, agujeros en la trama.
    Entonces, incluso con todas las ventajas, este juego es realmente muy malo. NO tiene sentido que Ellie actúe como actúa en ciertas partes del juego, pero eso no es lo más importante sobre por qué es malo. La razón es: desarrollo del personaje. Si matas a uno de los personajes más queridos al principio del juego (Joel) y quieres traer nuevos personajes jugables principales como Abby, DEBES traer MUCHO más historia de fondo para que el jugador se sienta con ella. ¡Quiero decir que MATÓ a Joel! ¿Cómo haces que le guste al jugador? Trae más y más historia de fondo antes de que ella haga eso. Deje que los jugadores jueguen 2-10horas como Abby cuando era niña o lo que sea. La historia de fondo de ella se cuenta básicamente en 10 minutos y luego su padre está siendo asesinado. ¿Eso es? ¿Y ahora tengo que sentirme con ella y entender por qué mató a Joel? Yo diría que NO. Esa es una historia débil. Muy muy débil. Luego están todos los otros personajes nuevos. Nadie es simpático. Como realmente. Todos se sienten vacíos.

In my opinion the game was quite good with no noticeable bugs while I played through it. The game looks amazing and sounds amazing. The story did not live up to the last of us part 1 but I wouldn’t expect it to. At first when I had to play as Abby I really hated it and I hated her but after awhile you notice that she and Ellie have the same intercepting story of revenge. I did not however like the boss fight where you have to fight Ellie as Abby. The new characters that were introduced I found that I didn’t really care about most of them other than lev who I thought was a interesting character. Overall I would say that the last of us part 2 was an enjoyable game that does not deserve the hate it is getting.… Expand

As I pushed through to see the end I started to appreciate what they did with the story. Playing as Abby shows she has a human side and she started to grow on me. I still wish Joel didn't die but the way they humanized Abby and showed she had a compassionate side to her made you think about what revenge does to both sides. I began to grow attached to Abby even though I hated her for the first half of the game. I encourage those of you reading this to try it for yourself. I absolutely loved the first game and cleared it about 6 or 7 times. I don't understand why people are review bombing this without giving the game a shot. The gameplay is improved by a lot compared from the first one and Ellie is such a badass and fun to play as. I urge you to try this game instead of blindly basing your decision off the leaks. The ending of part 2 isn't as strong as the first game but I still enjoyed almost every minute of my time playing it.… Expand

    Absolutely loved the game with the gameplay being my only gripe. The first game's gameplay wasn't spectacular neither so this is why I docked two points. Thought the second one was better than the first. People's opinions on this game are very divisive. You either love it or hate it. I'm of the former. Play the game with an open mind and form your own opinion.

The fact that Abby wasn’t introduced on time as the doctor’s daughter is what left a an initial sense of bitter and at first I hated playing as her. I can’t say that I like her now, as Mel said, she is a piece of s$&@, has always been and just a few good actions with Lev won’t change that fact easily. On the Ellie side, I wanted all to end on the first half of the farm. It would have been a bittersweet ending and would have given a more forgiving nature to Ellie instead of sparing Abby on the last second.

    If I interpreted the last few flashbacks correcly, Ellie spared Abby because se remided her of how Joel was with her, always willing to risk his life to protect her. Rather than being a forgiving act with Abby it was her way to forgive and let go of Joel and now she’s searching for her purpose. It definitely ended not the way I wanted, the game is not for everyone, mainly because the different moral choices made. But it’s definitely enjoyable and will possibly make few people drop some tears.

    What keeps it from being a 10/10 is the initial lack of chronological order.    … Expand

Além de tudo, a diversidade dos personagens e acessibilidade do jogo são louváveis. O jogo, na minha opinião, é melhor que o primeiro.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
