    Tonight I hit the 25 hour mark on TLOU2 and have entered what I assume to be the end game: no spoilers...
    Naughty dog have not only created one of the finest gaming experiences of this console generation, but one of the most incredible stories ever told across any form of media. This is a truly    Doing the cardinal sin of reviewing a game before I have finished it...but with good reason.
    Tonight I hit the 25 hour mark on TLOU2 and have entered what I assume to be the end game: no spoilers...

    Naughty dog have not only created one of the finest gaming experiences of this console generation, but one of the most incredible stories ever told across any form of media. This is a truly bleak game, sprinkled with just enough humour and beauty so as to never become a chore. At no point in my playthrough have I ever been anything but absolutely enthralled. With each 'day' spent traversing the breathtaking imagining of post apocolyptic Seattle, gameplay builds through sequences of open world exploration; hunting for supplies to upgrade your ever growing arsenal of guns, ammo & tactical weaponry (the weapon upgrade animations are fantastic) before a genuinely best in class stealth experience takes over. Enemy AI is smart, coordinated and designed to constantly keep you moving and thinking. The game does an excellent job of keeping the pressure on. As with all story driven games I play on normal difficulty, and the challenge is worthy of plenty of deaths but never enough to break you're spirit. I did find that when restarting at a checkpoint, the game would reposition an enemy who was causing particular trouble which was helpful. All of this swells to cruscendo's of truly brutal and white knuckle action. Some of the things you are asked to do as a player will stay with you for a long time, and the truly staggering violence almost never comes off as tacky. (Although admittedly, one encounter in particular whilst on the hunt for a boat was a bit much...)

    The infected don't present as much of a challenge, but the use of lighting and sound design create an atmosphere that is genuinely terrifying. The main challenge that is presented with infected enemies is not how to kill them, but which ones to kill fist. As with the previous game, music is used to outstanding effect and is entwined within the story beautifully to bookend sequences. Ellie music shop acoustic rendition of a classic song a real emotional highlight to rival 'the giraffe moment' from the first game.

    Technically the game runs buttery smooth on my launch ps4, and although the issue of turbo fan kicks in I have experienced no performance issues whatsoever.

    You must experience this game, its as simple as that. The low user score is a sad reflection of todays society, and should be ignored by any rational consumer. Yet the review bombs act as almost the perfect metaphor for the last of us 2's overarching themes. People will go to extraordinary lengths to destroy their enemy, yet despite all of our percieved differences - everybody bleeds the same colour.    … Expand

To begin, the game's graphics and sound design are some of the best the console has ever received, The characters include the ones we know and love, but are soon pushed aside as a new story begins to develop, one of what unbridled rage can do to a person. However, as I said, due to the less confident, less conventional plot structure, the character building and motivation falls a bit flat until the very end. This is where I think the game truly shines, with the whole story in mind. The new characters are not made to be liked, but compared to the ones we knew before. A pair that will do anything to protect each other and survive. I do hope to see them return in the Last of Us: Part III, if that's ever possible, as Joel and Ellie's story has come to a depressing, bitter sweet end.… Expand

    E eu achei essencial terem coloco os temas LGBT no jogo, algo que era óbvio que iriam reclamar.

    E o final vai de cada um, a vingança arrancou tudo que podia da Ellie e mostrou a escuridão de suas consequências e o ato de vingança

    I am a huge fan of last of us 1. That being said this game is the next level as far as feel goes. I enjoyed the feel of the game. The pacing was decent but this is a short game. No way we waited 7 years for such a short game. Secondly there is no multiplayer. How dare you try to release the multiplayer separately to gouge us? Thirdly, i could’ve done without the romance.     No le dejo el 10 sinplemente porque me ubiese gustado que Joel muriera mas tarde en el juego y no tan temprano.
    Habia veces en las que lloraba cuando Ellie se ponia a tocar la guitarra y cantaba esas canciones.
    Me gustaria que hagan una parte 3 en la que se desarrolle las adolecencia de Ellie junto a Joel.

Probably the most disappointing game of the current gen such lazy writing from the developers so Abby kills Joel you go through the game killing everyone in your way doing some very questionable things not to mention you play 50% of the game as Abby it builds up to the last fight between Ellie & Abby Ellie is about to kill Abby sees a vision of Joel thinks screw it then lets Abby go thats it no pay off you thought Mass Effect 3 ending was bad this is worse sorry ND you screwed up on this one… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. en ocasiones la gente quiere expresarse sin sentirse atacado por dar tu opinión, pero yo creo, que toda opinión es valida cuando tiene cierto fundamento , the last of us 2 es un juego que tiene muchas emociones encontradas en mi, los gráficos indudablemente son excepcionales , el sonido es muy rico y variado en los entornos generando una ambientación única el los sitios con sus respectivas animaciones que los detonan y deja entrever el talento de los diseñadores del juego. en su apartado audiovisual no deveria de sorprendernos viniendo de naughty dogs. pero a laves tiene algo que de merita al juego enormemente y es su historia, cuando yo juego algo siempre espero ver una armonía en todos sus elementos pero no halle eso en su interior de guion, me sentí defraudado por el desenlace de personajes y de historia, es como comer algo que sabe bien pero también tiene un olor nada grato, si al final de cada bocado no te quitaras de la mente que su olor te desagrada pero a la ves sabe exquisito y no tiene nada que ver con la orientación sexual de los personajes sino el como se les condujo en cada acontecimiento en el trayecto final de la trama. para mi suma incoherencia la poca determinación de la protagonista en su objetivo final es como una traición a a la confianza de sus seres queridos que velaron por ella, en un mundo tan ruin y malvado no cabe el arrepentimiento si tu ya no tienes nada que perder. la personaje principal ellie demostró ser una genocida de sangre fría por necesidad y no por gusto, para proteger a los suyos y a su ves para terminar perdonadle la vida ala villana?… Expand

    The vast difference in user and critic scores goes to show just how out of touch these people are with the real people who play this game. I gave this game a 3 just because it had beautiful visuals. The story of part two **** on everything that was established in the first game. Horribly disrespectful to fans like me who waited 7 years for this game.

I tried not to read any spoilers because I personally beleived that there is no way that they could possibly do anything to this game that would make me not like it. The gameplay is almost exactly as it was in 2013 and has very few improvements. The graphics look good as they should being 2020. The story is what this game is all about. Trust me when I say that without the great story of the first one it would have been a very mediocre game itself. I just dont understand how nobody at the company was able to say "Uhum......this is not going to go over well because the story is SH!T" After the death of Joel i completely uninstalled. It just blows my mind what kind of idiot would actually come up with this crap. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! DO NOT BUY...........Garbage game… Expand

    This is my first review for a game. After having played this game, while the graphics are wonderful and the game definitely keeps you on your toes at times, the story is sadly lacking and forces you to play as a highly unlikable character for half of the game after killing off a key character to the story..     Overall, I would say this game is a bad idea with great execution.
    On the technical level the game is quite amazing, super good looking and solid physics.
    On the gameplay level, it can become quite repetitive and predictable at time. The AI is nothing to amazing, basically the same as in the first game.     The AI is nothing to amazing, basically the same as in the first game. Even though there was some effort to upgrade the existing stuff from the first game they are still quite stupid, predictable and exploitable (stabbing all the enemy one by one in the same map corner and stuff like that).
    The story is the real deal breaker which is a shame a game built around it.    … Expand

Look im all for respecting what ever the **** the current issue is, which seems to be everything now a days, but they turned this game into a message rather than an amazing story, they forgot their roots and force you to be apart of this bs... they mislead everyone with fake scenes from trailers and just absolutly cram their agenda down your throat. People play games for an escape from reality and when you put real world issues like this into a game about a zombie apocalypse, it makes people question the developers intentions. I really hate to say it but the story is terrible and SPOILER alert if your not aware, you are forced to play as the antagonist for 8 hours, its absurd... i give it a 3 / 10 . Honestly it hurts me to even say that, maybe I'm a "bigot", maybe m not "woke" enough... idk but this story ****ing sucks. What a let down after waiting 7 years... this is what the fans get, this is honestly one of the worst things to happen in 2020.… Expand

Almost everyone agrees that technical part of this game is top notch, story though is different story as it maybe is the most divisive and controversial among fandom across all favourite franchise. Everyone has their opinions, lets respect that.
    I personally like this game, it’s one of the most unique story-telling experiences i had in my life. I understand why certain people hate this game, and it’s the same reason why i love it.
    I hate Abby for joel’s death , i want to avenge his death so badly that i killed all WLF soldier in the most brutal ways. But then in the second half of the game, We got to control Abby, this murderer that killed our beloved characters. I dislike this part of the game at first, but when i experience what she felt and her lifes, i understand that no one is villain in this game. There’s no hero or bad guy in this game, everyone has it’s own motivation, people they cared about.
    Abby, is just another human being, like us.
    The ending is good also, Ellie didnt get to avenge Abby. She know Joel will never want Ellie to become the person he was after Sarah death, he wants Ellie to live happily with her lover, do things that she love to do, she deserves a better life than becoming killing machine. Even if Ellie did kill Abby, some people will eventually try to find her out and avenge her, potentially putting Dina and JJ , or even tommy in danger. She knows Joel wouldnt want that, so she let Abby go.
    Story itself is good, but the way story is told can be better in my opinion.
    If there’s a part3 , lets just hope Ellie is treated well, that kid suffers too much…..    … Expand

It doesn't help that I wish I didn't stay away from the leaks so I didn't have to waste my and gf's time with this story. We both agreed to treat this as a fanfic and not cannon. I am disappointed with how ND killed off Joel, I don’t believe he or Tommy would have gone to a location with a bunch of unknown people... But that is what it is... with the years passing by Joel could have become easily trusting and quite honestly careless.....

    ND did a very good job overall with the firearms use-age and manipulations. However, currently the revolver is messed up.. when the trigger should be in double action it’s to the rear as if it’s a dead trigger or in single action... (imo with the wheelgun Ellie never should cock the hammer back on the revolver unless she’s making a 25 yard or so shot) Its unrealistic for her to always be cocking the hammer back if aiming down sights in a close quarters situation. Another complaint is weapon options.. In my opinion there should be more options as far as firearms in the game (handguns -1911 or browning Hi-power) or with rifles the Ruger Mini 14. It’s ridiculous that these weapons are in the game and you don’t have access to use them.    … Expand

En cuestión el juego ofrece un buen gameplay y ambiente con respecto al enfoque del juego, pero en la narrativa de la historia me parece muy forzada en donde buscan una justificación muy obvia de la venganza de ellie por la muerte de Joel y nos presentan a los inicios del juego un trajico acontecimiento en donde opinió que a la mayoría no le agradó de ahí las críticas y el final que a mi parecer esta bien de igual forma creería que hubiera sido mejor que Joel muriera a mitad del juego ya que la mayoría contandome queria un poco mas de juego con Joel y sentirme como un padre responsable ya que ese siempre fue el papel de Joel cuidar de ellie y recordar a su pequeña hija reflejada en ellie y otra razón por la cual no le doy un puntaje mayor a 8 es que mi personaje favorito era Joel y me sentí muy mal cuando lo ví morir y pues lástima yo quería jugar con el pero del resto perfecto… Expand

    The real problem of this game is that the scenario and narrative are so bad it quickly makes your forget about the nice technical aspects.
    Waited years for a sequel with the 2 main protagonists, and I am forced to play half the game with a new one who has the charisma of a dump rag.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the best game I’ve ever seen, the hate is mostly made by people who didn’t play or didn’t understand the game, the plot is externally courageous killing a character so beloved in a meaningless way and then humanizing the killer, the plot is based in revenge, forgiveness and empathy, it's amazing how the game makes us care for such a hated character, the game manages to humanize all the characters, from main enemies to random characters that you have to kill to get anywhere.

    the gameplay is just incredible, except for some problems in the AI ​​is impeccable, the game managed to improve the mechanics that already existed in the first game and add incredible new ones

    the character development is simply extraordinary, the game makes us like so many characters and kills a lot of them, the emotional impact that this game caused me is the biggest I have ever felt in a fictional work

    This game is not good for the same reasons the first one was, be aware, however it is really a experience like any other, incredible graphics, consistent and engaging gameplay and a story that will make you consider every aspect of the world of the game.

People hate on this game because of Joel’s death I refuse to believe otherwise. The story is just horrendous with the pacing, lackluster of character development, unnatural dialogue, illogical plot, and felt rushed. They disrespected Joel and Ellie. The game made Joel seem like an incompetent survivor leading to his death, which his death didn’t make sense at all. Joel felt like a short lived cameo rather than a crucial side character to drive the plot forward, but rather the plot drags him. Ellie had no character development except being in a pissy mood the whole game. Ellie literally kills everyone and sacrifices everything to waste her opportunity to kill Abby. Just don’t get me started on how they kept shoving down the same theme of revenge repeatedly. The only good thing about this game is the soundtrack, gorgeous aesthetics and graphic fidelity, refined stealth mechanic, and the intense set pieces that fuels you with adrenaline.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Very strange to see this game get review bombed so vehemently. There’s a clear lack of objectivity by tens of thousands of people leaving a review here, and clearly a fair few of those haven’t even touched the game.

    Spectacular graphics, refined gameplay and an emotionally driven story that makes this yet another fantastic addition to Naughty Dogs now growing list of classics.

    The two issues I have story-wise do relate to some of the decisions made. For me, what makes The Last of Us different from usual survival horror/apocalypse type games is that relationship between Joel and Ellie. The Last of Us IS that relationship more than the world itself and is at the very core of what makes the first game special. If you remove one of those elements then you risk falling back in to just another game, albeit a high level one.

    The second issue is the trope of revenge. While naturally you would expect the people closest to Joel to want redemption, the game prides itself on being grounded and it would be hard to accept that in real life, in such a horrendous world, you would leave the sanctity of Jackson to travel hundreds of miles in to an absolute fortress to try and find one person. It’s not a dealbreaker but it does take away from that grounded atmosphere it tries to create.

    That being said, I’m more than happy to be an observer of Druckmann’s story, given that he is the creator, much like I would he reading any novel. I admire the fact that they didn’t rest on their laurels and pay loads of fan service to the game, purely to please the (seemingly aggressive) dedicated fan base to this franchise. I want to play a linear story game to be told a story, not to cross off a checklist of things I wanted to see in the game. Generation defining game, not quite at the level of the first game, but the expectations for this sequel were so high that was always going to be a challenge.

    It’s a shame that there is an ever present immature streak among a lot of gamers that can’t be objective enough to form an opinion on this game without jumping on a bandwagon.    … Expand

    It was such an emotional game, like the first, but it was also brutal and intense. I found myself loving some of the new characters introduced and was drawn in to their stories along with Ellie's. Every scene with Joel is a treasure and I can't say enough praise for Troy Baker's portrayal of him in this game. Same with Ashley Johnson as Ellie. And oh my gosh Laura Bailey as Abby. Props to her for owning that role.

    The beginning is hard. But I didn't stop playing and I'm glad I kept going! A lot of people are angry with game and immediately want to trash it without giving it a chance. But I had so much fun playing it. I loved being in this world again and will definitely replay it at some point. Probably going to start the first one again for nostalgia.    … Expand

If only I could excuse you for what you did to Joel’s character, along with the original nature of all TLOU characters, this game would be great. But you take the cautious slow-to-trust Joel who will ignore a family on the road and kill and “injured” man with his truck (rightfully so), and make him into a weak, pathetic excuse of an imposter. How could Joel ever trust a random stranger in the woods instantly, let alone a whole freaking suspicious gang of them? And after years of killing, and literally annihilating the Fireflies and preventing a vaccine, you still decide to keep your same name. Pathetic. joel should have died heroically, or at least not by his own stupidity that’s not true to him.

    And for you to make 10 hours of gameplay attempt to make Abby’s actions appear valid, to the point of forcing the player to bash Ellie’s face in nearly?? Anyone with half a heart and brain would be able to reason better that Joel’s crime was far more justified than hers. Her story line is disgusting, horrible filler material.

    And Ellie. Raised on the grit and character of Joel and the feds, she even showed this in the first game very quickly. Yet somehow she now second guesses her vengeance AFTER murdering hundreds of people, which costs her everything? You leave your dedicated fan base with nothing to enjoy, nothing to even feel good about being sad about. Her last moments with Joel shown, the brief bliss of JJ, finding Abby - I would’ve even been happier if she just got in the boat at first, and not blue ball her death just to make a pointless point.

    This game pushes a lot on its fans - many of which are no longer fans - and though you may think you’re “righteous” for teaching everyone a lesson in revenge (which was horribly HORRIBLY contradicting itself every other chapter), all you’ve done is abandon TLOU and kill off everyone who waited for the ACTUAL story to continue. I mean, its the worst story that I have ever seen in a video game! Naughty Dog made Joel a stupid man and killed the main protagonist in the first hour of the game. However, the storyline was terrible you have to spend over 10 hours playing as Abby who killed joe just a few chapters before. They then delve into the characters backstory which is nice to see there motives but that could have been summerized in a cutscene. I play last of us 1 and loved the characters I expected Joel to die in this game as Ellie’s motivation to attack whoever did it. Just didn’t think I would spend half the game playing as a character I hate to my core.… Expand

    Personally having played the game 2 times first time on moderate just for experiencing the game and digesting the game normally and the second time for **** and giggles and feel like a badass with the accessibility options turned on, and this is what I have to say. First the Gameplay, it was phenomenal with brutally and ruthlessness not seen since this side of Manhunt, now the graphics my man... my man... This game... This game is beautiful to hell and back, That's all I have to say. Now onto the reason why this is a 4, The story. Now to say this is story is OK would be kinda generous not to dive into it as I'm sure someone else can say it better than me, so the issues really revolve around the characters and the ending with Characters acting weirdly and a little too convenient for the plot such as my main men Joel and Tommy being a little too generous with people they just met, Being forced to play as the killer, strangely graphic sex scenes from a company that censors anime **** trying to make me feel sympathy for the killer and having it fall flat on its face, killing a main character for shock value. Inicialmente algunas partes puede llegar a ser chocante, pero al momento se encuentra el sentido a estas situaciones, llegando a generar sensaciones extrañas y a su vez agradables en la persona que lo está jugando.
    Su duración la considero correcta (en mi caso, mi primera partida duró 30h aprox), se toma su tiempo presentarnos sus personajes y situaciones, dando como resultado un excelente ritmo que mantiene el interés en seguir jugando y conociendo más de la historia, con algunos bajones en algunas partes.
    A todo esto sumándole el alto nivel de calidad en todos los aspectos que ofrece Naughty Dog, que permiten que cada vez que juego encuentre nuevos detalles que enriquecen al videojuego.
    Realmente no puedo encontrar puntos negativos relevantes que comentar, aparte de algunos altibajo en el ritmo, como mencione anteriormente, tal vez podría decir que algunas situaciones me gustaría que se dejaran totalmente claras y no con una pequeña incógnita dejado espacio a la interpretación, o una parte en especifico, casi a la mitad del juego, en la cual aun no tengo claro que se intenta transmitir con la relación Personaje-Jugador que se tiene para ese momento del juego.
    Probablemente con el tiempo y con cada vez que juegue de nuevo, encuentre detalles que pueda considerar negativos, pero estoy seguro que nada de eso va a cambiar la opinión positiva que tengo de The Last Of Us Part II.    … Expand

The story is boring and uninspired, the gameplay is almost identical (which I guess is good if you are happy with the same gameplay over again), the characters are unlikeable and never learn anything, the ending is super unsatisfying and nonsensical, the game is full of weird and bad writing, the entire game is specifically formulated to make you feel miserable (which is NOT a rumour, it was officially confirmed by a lot of people who have worked on the game). If you take the game on it's own, it feels like an semi-Indie game with AAA game graphics. The developers are constantly blaming completely false things for the bad reviews, saying "oh, bots are review-brigading the game, it's not real people", or "they only dislike it because Ellie is g@y". Okay, lemme tell you why both of these claims are false. Technically, yes, there are definitely bots AND people review-brigading the game, but lemme tell you something. There are an equal amount of people review-brigading the game to give it a 10/10. There are an equal amount of review-brigadiers on the 10/10 reviews as there are on the 0/10 reviews. The second statement is so dumb that it makes me laugh. The Last Of Us: Left Behind (the DLC for the first game) was very, VERY heavy on Ellie being g@y, and that was rated incredibly high, so that argument is kaput. People hate TLOU2 because it spits on the first game and it's legacy, it is written badly, it isn't original, it isn't new, and it isn't good unless you're purely looking at graphics. I would say if you love TLOU, don't buy this, if you really, REALLY want it, wait for a sale, see if you can score it for super cheap off someone else, or borrow a copy from a friend. It’s majority a walking simulator with pretty textures put on bad models. Over half the game is you playing as the main antagonist of the game and you don’t even get the satisfaction of kill that person for what they’ve done to you. You story is full of plot holes and dumb twists that don’t make any sense when you stop to think about it SPOILERS AHEAD. Why did Abby leave Ellie and Tommy alive? Sure, she was there to kill Joel but both Tommy and Ellie had seen them and obviously due to Ellie’s reaction and Tommy be his brother Abby would have had to have known they’d come after her. Why did Ellie only realize revenge is bad after she’d already killed literally everyone else who was involved? Why would Joel follow Abby back to her group when he’d always been suspicious of everyone he’d ever met up until that point? And why of all the people they could have chosen was it the doctor’s daughter who came after Joel. Joel has spent 20 years doing awful things before he met Ellie. Of all the people he must have hurt and killed in that time it was the random doctor who was hell bent on killing Ellie for the cure that comes back to haunt Joel. I remember playing that part of the first game, I didn’t feel bad for killing the doctor, I killed him and his entire team because they were going to kill Ellie who I as they player cared about. This game has single handedly ruined my trust in Naughty Dog. I don’t trust that what they tell me about their games is true anymore and I don’t trust that they’ll be capable of writing a competent story from this point forward. This game gets a 1 solely because the game was stable and playable. It was not fun, it was not entertaining, and worst of all it was a disgrace to first half of the story we got 7 years ago.     Several mistakes were made in this game. The direction of the story is terrible and it leads the player feeling empty because there is nothing gained or learned from this entry and could possibly just be ignored. If you're looking for entertainment and a heartwarming story or enriching experience, this is NOT it.

Sino que cambia el personaje para que sea, estúpido cuando en el primero no lo era. Abby uno de los peores personajes jamás creados y encima te hacen jugar con ella, es de chistes. Y la jugabilidad es de broma

    One of the best games I’ve ever played graphically. So beautiful every step of the way (3). The fighting/ combat aspect was also very fun and enjoyable (2). The story is what kills the game. To leave an audience as big as thing game was going to receive an ending like this one is just cruel (1/2). Total - (5.5/10)

    As a fan of the first game, it sucks to give its sequel such a low score. I'll get the pros out of the way. For the most part, the graphics are a huge improvement with the lighting and animations. Although, the new models look a little off. I preferred the older models. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing like the last game and its pretty easy to get immersed into the game. Gameplay-wise,As a fan of the first game, it sucks to give its sequel such a low score. The story itself is rather lack-luster too, with it being a generic revenge story and saying "Revenge is bad, look at these consequences." The original Last of Us was praised for its amazing characters and story, so due to how bad it is in this game, I have to give it a 3.… Expand

    Wow, i never played something like that. I don't have words to describe that game. It's a experience for a life, a game for everyone play at least one time. So grateful for that masterpiece.

    If this game wasn't "the last of us",
    If the protagonist wasn't Elie,
    It sure would be one of the best games of the year.
    It´s too sad to see the creators break the beautiful bond between part 1 and 2. and that there is not a story that moved us or the immovable relationship between Joel and Elie

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
